Arjun grabbed a shield and lit off all the sources of light.
"The way the court is drowned in darkness, the same way we are going to fill Maharaj Dhritarashtra's life with darkness"
"Go to the Pandavas, jiji" Arshia said, her voice was void of emotions. "Arshia, please" Arshia turned her eyes to look at Draupadi and shook her head.
"We will see how he tries to disrobe me."
"Ask us to raise our weapons Jyesth" Bheem yelled.
Suddenly laughter was heard in the court. Loud laughter that is. Everyone looked at Arshia as if she had gone mad. Her laughter reflected pain, remorse and hurt.
"This is so funny, isn't it?" Arshia laughed, unable to speak further. "W-what is funny?" Bheem asked. "That you still need permission from your Jyesth. That you still follow him. That you still believe him! That is funny VayuPutra Bheem"
"Arshia please calm down" Draupadi whispered. "Are you siding with them jiji?" Arhsia asked, looking at the woman. "I am not Arshia." Draupadi shook her head. "Then let me insult them, let me insult them till they don't fall near our feet and seek forgiveness" No one could even think that these very words were uttered by Arshia. Karna stared at her with pity and guilt. He went to Arshia and grabbed her attention, shaking his head.
"I am proud of you Arya. You proved to be the best man I have known my whole life. And believe me, Dusshasan can't take even an inch from my clothing. " Karna shook his head."I would turn into a transgender if I let you get disrobed." Karna whispered. "You won't. Just believe me this once and I shall never ask for anything else" Arshia flashed him a tiny smile and looked at the court.
"Arshia,I can't watch you suffer. Please, don't do this" Arshia turned to Karna. "Arya, think about jiji. It's her time of the month but yet she is here, infront of everyone, every male. Think about her condition" Karna vigorously shook his head. "I know Arshe,I know. Rajkumari is suffering but so are you. Why does Duryodhana get to even do this? You nor Rajkumari Draupadi needs to get humiliated in such a manner" Karna explained.
"Arya, this leads to something so big that none of us, execpt God,can think of. After they commit this adharm, they will face the rage of the world. They will suffer, beg for mercy and will be humiliated like me and jiji are being humiliated. They will hold my feet and beg for their lives and when I will deny, they will feel what I feel at the moment. I know you are tired of blindly believing me each time but just adjust for me for the last time, just the last time." Karna felt his head hang low.
"I believe you,Arshe and I know you will emerge brighter than ever. But just don't make me regret this" Karna's voice broke in desperation. "I won't make you regret and thank-thank you for trusting me"
"Come to the centre,Dasi Arshia!" Karna looked at Duryodhana with anger but knowing he was helpless,he stepped a few steps back.
"Disrobe her Dusshasan!"
"Vasudev, protect my love just this once" Karna prayed.
As Arshia made her way up to the center, voices stopped Dusshasan.
"Stop Dusshasan! You will burn in fire if you commit such a crime!" Bhishma warned but Dusshasan didn't back down. "Dusshasan—"
"Silence Guru Drona, silence. You too, your excellency silence. You have stayed quiet for such a long time,I know you can stay quiet for a bit longer. You too, PanduPutro. It's time for you all to quiet down. None of you had the courage to stop the adharm in the name of Dharm! What is good in that Dharm that makes strength the weakness? What is the use of the truth that dims the courage of the speaking person and not the one who is committing such acts! None of you understood the true form of Dharm. A Diya does light up the room but when it's extinguished it blackens the hands. And the dharm lying within all of you has lost all of its light. This is why my protection is out of your league.
If I am to be protected, the Gods above will. None of you"
Arshia finished and made her way to the center.
"Come Dusshasan. Try and showcase your strength"
Arshia said, joining her hands in front of her face with tears streaming down her face. She looked at Draupadi and passed a tiny smile at her and shook her head, trying to stop the tears that were streaming down her face.
Arshia closed her eyes and the last thing she uttered was
"Vasudev Krishna"
.
Karna's palms stayed glued with each other. The Pandavas looked down and Draupadi kept on taking Krishna's name.
Dusshasan took her, now, dirty yellow end of the saree and started to pull it. The court was filled with laughter. Arshia kept on spinning with her eyes closed and her palms joined.
Suddenly the fires sparked up and then died down. The strong sound of thunder and the sound of the speed of wind increasing could be heard. Dusshasan looked around, not knowing what was going on. Arshia had stopped spinning as divine piece of clothes covered her. She was fully covered and that resulted a smile of Draupadi's face.
"Govind" She whispered, smiling.
And all of Dussahan's efforts were going in vain. All he was pulling was an endless peice of clothing. Everyone in the court execpt for Draupadi and Arshia were snatched away from their upper attire.
Vidur, Bhishma and Dronacharya joined their hands, thanking the gods above.
A sudden force pushed Dusshasan back as he fell on the huge pile of cloth. The cloth disappeared from around her and Arshia opened her eyes.
"Arshia"
"Arshia!"
Kunti ran to her.
Arshia put her hand up and stopped her. Draupadi made her way to Arshia and grabbed her free hand, pulling her into a hug. But all Draupadi felt was hugging a lifeless body. Even the sound of her breathing wasn't felt or heard by her.
"The Gods favoured you Arshia" Draupadi whispered, pulling away from the hug. Arshia stared at her blankly and nodded. Anger rose in her as she turned to the court.
"See what happens when you try humiliating a woman? When Ma Sita left the palace,Shree Ram stayed as an unhappy man I will remind you!", Arshia turned to the court and spoke. Her eyes fell on Dhritarashtra as she continued speaking.
"You let this happen to me, Maharaj and I shall remember it for the rest of my life. Let this decade pass and I will do things to your clan that even you can't imagine" Arshia said. "Putri Arshia, please don't say such th—"
"Silence Rani Gandhari!"Gandhari stepped back at her sudden order. "On this day,you let all fo this happen in your court. I promise to myself,I promise to this court that I will breathe my last when I see PanduPutra Yudhishthir on that very throne. On the throne where you sat and let adharm prevail! This is not because I want him on the throne, this is because I want all of you to suffer. Suffer way more than I have"
"You can't see the scene right now,can you?!Let me describe it to you! Everyone in this sabha is stripped off their clothing execpt for me and Draupadi jiji."
Dhritarashtra shook his head and tried to say something but nothing came out of his mouth.
"Wait for the years to come. The people who stayed silent to our humiliation will burn in hell.
I will wage a war but not let all of you breathe the same air as I do."
"I will let no one die in the battlefield until I will make them shiver in pain, puke out blood, fall on my feet and beg for death. That moment you all can painfully leave earth. I will come back as your death, Maharaj Dhritarashtra"
"Mahamahim Bhishma will meet such an unfortunate death that a human can't imagine! But he will stay alive,he has to. He will see PanduPutra Yudhishthir on the throne on his death bed" Arshia pointed at Bhishma.
She turned her gaze at Shakuni.
"The way you cheated through this whole game,I will make sure your death doesn't come easy. You will be tortured and then lie in the clutches of death. You will be sitting on your knees in front of me"
Shakuni gulped at her anger and removed his gaze on her.
"You will die once your 99 brothers die, Duryodhana! You will fall on my feet and beg for death" Duryodhana scoffed and looked away.
"And you Dusshasan, will face a death that is not known to the human race and when the ages to come will know about you, they will spit their saliva at you and be ashamed that such men actually existed"
Dusshasan still hadn't recovered from the shock he received while he was disrobeing Arshia and her words creeped him out.
"If Maa Parvati can be Maa Parvati, she can be Maa Kali as well" Arshia said, turning to walk away.
"Arshia, please don't do this. Please try,try and forgive them" Gandhari whispered shakely, joining her hands.
"Everyone in this room, even the Pandavas will join their palms together and beg for forgiveness Maharani Gandhari!Your pleadly needs and wants aren't going to be fulfilled here,I will remind you that. Join your hands, beg on your knees I won't give a damn to your words"
This wasn't Arshia speaking, this was the monster inside her waking up and promising for world destruction.
"I will make sure none of you peacefully die."
"Please don't say such things Arshia!Ask for any wish!I shall fulfill them!" Dhritarashtra said. "I will not back away from my words, Maharaj. But untie Arya. He has been the only voice that had tried and stood up for me and jiji. Second, grant whatever jiji asks for. She has lost more than me anyways" Arshia mumbled the last part and watched Karna get united. She walked to Draupadi, and with her gaze straight, she said "Don't forgive them. Kill them but forgiveness shall not be an option"
As she walked down the stairs, the places that had fire and were lit off by Arjun started lighting up. As she reached the last step, the sabha was lit up with the fire of her rage.
Arshia walked out of the court as Draupadi's rage took over.
.
She walked through the cursed corridors of Hastinapur, tears crystal clear in her eyes. Subhadra and her servants who were behind her stopped and stared at Arshia. Subhadra walked to her and placed her hands on her shoulder.
"Arshia, what's wrong? Why are so messy? What are these bruises?" Subhadra bombarded her with questions.
"Go away,Subhadra. My fire might engulf you and Indra-putra Arjun might loose one of his most beloved wife"
Subhadra backed away at her demonic words.
"Arshia!"
Subhadra screamed. Arshia paid no attention and walked away.
. . .
Ouch.
Thank you.
