Anthony's POV
Blake and I were going to be staying at the Blanc household for a week because Seth and Royal had some important meetings. I know Noah and Aiden were excited to be able to spend some time with each other and Everest. They were basically best friends, not cousins.
We were just keeping Aiden occupied when Seth rushed out of the room to go help Royal with Everest. Minutes later Noah started calling for his dads. I kissed Blake on the cheek before going to grab him.
His room was right next to Everest's room. His room was sky-themed. Everything was blue with clouds on the ceiling. Above his bed, the ceiling was painted black with stars and a moon. It was really cute. He had a blue toddler bed, which he was sitting in.
I helped him get out and walked him to the bathroom. Once he was finished using the bathroom I took him downstairs where Aiden was giggling over some cars with Blake. Noah rushed over to him and they began playing together. Blake joined me on the couch and we were content with just watching them.
A few minutes later Seth and Royal came down holding a swaddled Everest. He was fast asleep so they laid him in a portable crib and joined us on the couch. We talked about business, and family life while the boys played. Royal informed me that Everest was sick and would probably be clingy to us. I assured him we would take good care of him.
Seth and Blake got up to make dinner and we were left to play with the boys. "Daddy," Aiden came up to me. "Yes," I look down at him, smiling. "Where's da potty?" he asks shyly. I take his hand and lead him to the bathroom. He quickly finishes up and I bring him back so he can play.
The boys were yelling and making car noises. It was loud and I was worried Everest would wake up. "Boys, why don't you go into Noah's bedroom and play?" Royal suggests. They nod enthusiastically and run off.
Royal then walks over to Everest and picks him up. "Baby boy, it's time to wake up," he coos. Everest's eyes open and he blinks. "What the hell!" He yells. Royal looks like he wants to say something but he chooses against it. Instead, he grabs a binky and puts it in his mouth. Everest tries to spit it out but Royal holds it there.
After Everest is quieted down we head to the kitchen. There is already salad and steak on the table. Blake brushes by with a steaming plate of mashed potatoes and Seth rushes by with food for the boys.
I help both boys get into their booster seats and help them buckle. Seth places their food down and I sit down next to Blake. "Stop it," Everest said. "Fuck you." "Watch your mouth," Royal growls. "I don't give two shits, just get me out of this fucking thing!" Everest yells.
Seth took pity on him and took him out of the portable crib. He had tried to get out of the blanket but all he did was tangle it. Seth quickly unwrapped him and brought him upstairs. I could hear a little bit of sobbing but then it got quiet and Seth came back down.
We all ate our dinner. Noah and Aiden were babbling to each other and giggling. Seth and Blake were talking about who knows what while Royal and I were talking about the big meeting that was coming up. He had asked him to do a few things while they were gone because they were urgent and neither Seth nor him could take care of them.
The main thing I was instructed to do was explain to Everest how being a werewolf worked. He would need to understand it because Seth and Royal were planning on moving back into the pack house soon so Royal could take over for his dad.
See, Royal's family had been running the pack house for as long as it has existed. My dad was the beta, making me Royal's beta now. Seth was the Luna. Royal and Seth were not only taking this time off for a meeting but in fact, they were hoping to blood-adopt another Alpha's child. They had one pack in mind. This pack's Alpha had two Alpha sons. The oldest would take over his and when the time was right the one Seth and Royal were hoping to blood-adopt would take over their place.
"I'll be right back," Royal said. He got up and went to check on Everest. "The little bitch jumped from the window," Royal said through a mind link. "Blake, stay and watch the boys," I instructed, rushing out of the room with Seth. We ran outside and began to search for him. We couldn't do much since we couldn't smell him like we could a regular werewolf but there was a metallic smell in the air. We ran after it, Royal not far behind us.
