Seth's POV
We had tracked Everest to a location not far from our house. Royal was driving to us with the car so we could easily get him back home. Anthony handed me a flashlight and I turned it on. We shined our flashlights around, hoping to find Everest. I saw something that looked like a bundle. It was also shaking.
I slowly walk over to it. It was Everest! Thank god! I breathed a sigh of relief. His head whipped around to me. When he saw me, his cries got louder and he ran into my arms. "Daddy," he sobbed. "I's lost. And I's throw up." I rubbed his back, trying to help him calm down.
I heard gagging from Everest before a warm substance started to seep through my shirt. His cries went up a notch. "Shhh," I coo. "It's okay." Royal pulls up and takes Everest from me. I quickly take off my shirt and throw on the extra sweatshirt I had in the car. Royal is still attempting to calm him down.
Royal carries him to the back of the car where some blankets are already set up. "Baby, we understand that this is hard," Royal said. "We just want to help." Everest cried harder and reached for Royal. I held him down gently and smoothed his hair back while Royal got the syringe ready. "It'll only hurt a little baby," I reassure him. He cries harder but doesn't try and move away. The needle pierces his skin and Royal slowly injects the medicine.
When it is empty Royal pulls it out and wraps it in a plastic bag. I stick a band-aid on the wound and pick him up. He hid his face in my neck and continued to cry. I rubbed his back soothingly and whispered into his ear. He continued to sob. If he didn't stop soon then he'd make himself sick.
Royal quickly handed me a bottle and helped me sit down. I cradled Everest to me and gave him the bottle. He latched on instantly. He sucked down the liquid so fast that Royal had barely finished getting his next one ready when he was done. I swapped the bottle out, and this time he went slower on it. When he was finished I replaced the nipple of the bottle with a pacifier. He was soon drifting off, unaware of his surroundings. I put him in his car seat and strapped him in. Anthony got up front with Royal and I got in back with my baby. It was a short, quiet drive home.
When we pulled into the driveway Royal took Everest upstairs to his crib and I walked into the house with Anthony. We headed straight for the living room. Blake had moved the two boys in there and they were happily playing. Anthony lifted Blake in the air and the scream that was heard was hilarious.
Aiden dropped the cars he was holding and ran to his dad. He hugged him around the legs and refused to let go. Noah also rushed over to me, jumping up. I caught him and spun him around. "Daddy, I's want snack," he tells me. "What would my prince want?" I ask. "Candy!" He shouted. I whisked him off to the kitchen to get him food.
After Noah's snack, I had to get him ready for bed. I gave him a quick bath and then dressed him. He decided he wanted to wear his space pajamas to bed. Once he was all dressed I made sure his teeth were brushed before I carried him to his bedroom. Royal had thought ahead and left me a bottle for him. I set him in his bed and handed him the bottle before making sure his nightlight was on and walking out.
Royal was already in our bedroom, ready for bed. I quickly showered and then hopped into bed next to him. He attempted to hug me but I shrugged him off, grabbing my book instead. "Babe," he whined. "We have to go to bed. We need to get up early tomorrow." I kissed him on the nose and went back to my book.
I got through about ten pages before my book was removed from my hands. I looked up angrily and saw Royal staring at me. "Give it back!" I growl. "Not until I get a kiss," he taunts. I roll my eyes and turn my back to him. "Oh come on, I just wanna have some fun," he whines. "One more word out of you and you're sleeping on the couch," I mutter.
