Royal's POV

It had been a few weeks since we moved into the pack house. I had since taken over for my father and Seth was helping me with everything. Liam and his mate, Oliver had moved into Liam's bedroom. Of course, we told them that if they needed anything they should ask. We also made sure their room and our room were soundproof.

After Everest slipped into his big headspace it was a struggle. He did wake up the next morning in little headspace but he had gotten into lots of food fights with the other pups in the pack. He was really whiny too, always clinging to Seth or me. Noah and Everest had also been getting into lots of fights. We were patient though and we thought we were getting through.

Today, Everest woke up feeling around 2. He was also pretty happy. Noah woke up with a headspace of about 3 and was also happy. Seth and I decided we'd take them on a hike. Liam and Oliver decided to stay back.

I walk into Everest's room right as he's waking up. "Good morning baby," I coo, walking over to his crib. "How did you sleep?" He whines and reaches for me. I pick him up and pat his diapered bottom. "Did someone use their diaper?" I ask, carrying him over to the changing table. He huffs and buries his head in my neck. I coo softly at how adorable he is and set him on the changing table.

I make quick work of wiping down his messy butt and slipping a fresh diaper underneath him. Next is his least favorite part, the rash cream and baby powder. I scoop a little bit of the cool rash cream and get ready to rub it on. Everest, despite how tired he is, he notices it. "Nu, nu da," he whimpers, squirming on the changing table. I hold him down gently, "Baby, it's okay. It'll be really quick." While I hold him down gently I quickly rub the rash cream on him and then powder him. I tape up his diaper and help him sit up.

His dirty pajamas go in the hamper. I set Everest on the floor while I walk to his closet. I grab a pair of tan overalls and a plain black onesie. I walk back out to find Everest holding himself up with his crib. He was gnawing on one of the bars and I laughed. "Everest, do you want a paci instead?" I ask, crouching down to his level. I grab a tan pacifier and hold it out to him. He turns to look at me and giggles.

Everest lets go of the bars and takes a step forward. He takes another wobbly step but falls. He looks up at me with eyes full of tears and lets out a whimper. "Come here sweetheart," I coo, grabbing his legs and pulling him towards me. "You're okay," I say softly. I pull the onesie over his head and snap it at the bottom. I slip the overalls on and snap it over his shoulders. I also put socks on his feet and then clip the pacifier to his overalls.

I brush his teeth and hair before bringing him downstairs. Noah was already in his booster eating a bowl of cereal. Seth was cleaning up some of his dishes and Oliver was on Liam's lap while they ate. I set Everest in his highchair and snap a bib around his neck. Seth was already ahead of me and he set a bowl of Fruit Loops on Everest's tray. "Daddy," Everest giggles, clapping his hands.

Half an hour later we were all ready to go on our hike. I slipped on my hiking shoes and Seth did the same. I grabbed the hiking bag I had packed which had a blanket, water bottles, sippy cups, bottles, and extra diapers. I also grabbed the baby harness and strapped it around my body. Seth slipped both Noah's and Everest's shoes on them. He helped me strap up Everest in the harness before grabbing Noha's hands.

"Ready love?" I ask Seth. "Mhm," he says, grabbing my hand. I kiss his cheek and lead the way out the door. Everest kicked his legs in the harness and babbled to himself while we headed towards the trail. Noah was tugging on Seth's arm, making us walk a little fast. I pat Everest's butt as we walk. The farther in we get the more excited Noah is.

I feel a tug on my shirt and look down at Everest. "Wan walk," he mumbled. I smile and ruffle his hair. "If you get out you have to walk the rest of the way. It's quite a long trek," I kiss his forehead. He bounces in the harness. "Wan walk," he says louder. We pause for a minute and take him out. "Now you have to hold my hand Everest, or it's right back in the harness," I tell him.

Since we stopped we decided it would be a good idea for a water break. I had Noah a sippy cup of water and Everest a bottle. Everest takes a drink and then looks at me confused, "Milkie?" I coo at his question. "No baby, that's just water," I say softly. He blinks but goes back to drinking it. I pulled it away from him after he had drunk about a fourth of it. He was so used to drinking the whole bottle but drinking all that water would just make him pee more and I didn't want to change his diaper a lot in the woods.

He pouts and whines, reaching for it. "No baby, you don't need all that water," I tell him as I put it away. He stomps his foot, "Give back." I shake my head, laughing softly. "Everybody ready?" I ask Noah and Seth. They both nod and we all stand back up. I hold Everest's hand tightly as we walk. He is also pulling me forward. "Baby, slow down," I tell him, pulling him back by me. "Wun," he huffs. "We can't run out here. We need to wait for Dada and Noah," I explain to him.

About 10 minutes from the top it's Everest and I who are lagging behind. "Baby, are you getting tired?" I ask him. He nods and reaches up for me. "Babe, I need your help," I holler to him. I pick Everest up and check his diaper. "I got a messy little boy right here," I poke his stomach, causing him to giggle. I heard a hiss and knew instantly he used it again. Seth helps me get him back in the harness and Everest's eyes are instantly shut.

The rest of the walk up to the lake was uneventful. Noah was starting to get a little tired too. We get up to the lake and, of course, Noah's tiredness immediately disappears. "I'll take him to the water and you can set up," Seth offers. I kiss his temple and nod. "Of course, go have fun with him babe." I carefully remove the backpack from my back and take the one Seth left. I open up his and place the blanket down before setting the food on top of it.

Once it was all set up I removed the sleeping Everest from the harness gently and laid him down. I remove the overalls and unsnap the onesie. I can see the sag of his diaper and I could tell he used it a lot. I untape it and pull it down. I quickly wipe him good and slip the old one from under him. I set it in a plastic bag that goes at the bottom of my pack then slip a fresh one underneath him. I powder him then tape it back up. I snap his onesie back and pull the overalls on again. I wrap the sleeping little in my jacket then finish setting up and getting ready for Seth and Noah to come back for lunch.
