Bodhi and Garrick slowly stopped walking down the hall once seeing Vyshena with her ripped shirt, bag over her shoulder, Xaden's shirt, and a blush on her cheeks the devil would be ashamed of. Garrick's mouth flung open, noticing she was coming from the stairs of third year.
"Oh, you got fucked." Garrick laughed when Vyshena shook her head slowly and both the boys' smiles fell short. Vyshena hit her hands on Bodhi's chest, knocking him against the wall.
"Whoa," Garrick gasped as Bodhi threw his arms up in defense. "You knew? You both knew?" She asked under her breath, eyes moving from Bodhi to Garrick. "About?"
"Your little club." She spat, and Garrick's eyes found hers. "Xaden told you?"
"My dragons are apart of it!" She didn't mean to shout, or throw her bag at Garrick's chest but he caught it. "Guess Xaden didn't help you out with this anger..." Bodhi tried to joke, but quickly ducked when Vyshena threw her fist at him. "Okay, okay..."
"That's why they couldn't come? Because they're helping Brennen Sorrengail start a new rebellion? Working with fliers against the venin?" Vyshena's voice rose in pitch and Bodhi quickly grabbed her shoulders. "If you want to talk about this lets go somewhere private. You of all people know what it's like trying to keep a secret this big." She pulled away from him quickly, knocking his chest again and ripping her bag from Garrick.
Both the boys took off for Xaden's room. "Dude, she's gonna go and get them!" Bodhi argued with his cousin who quickly slipped a shirt over his head after getting dressed. "Then she goes and gets them. I told her everything, she deserves to know, especially since Eon and Fyda are involved. If they come back with her great, but I made a promise to her that I'd keep their location a secret but if she ever asked," Xaden said while Garrick nodded his head.
"What's the plan if she comes back with them?" Xaden sighed.
"War."
"You. Got fucked." Rhiannon introduced herself in Vyshena's room after she came from the showers. The silver haired princess remained silent, eyes staring at Rhiannon. "The way he walked towards you, my Gods. I think Emetterio even got a little flustered." She sat on Vyshena's bed then quickly looked down at it. "No," Vyshena answered and saw the relief of the girls face.
"How was it?" Rhiannon asked. "Horrible." She replied, "horrible? It's Xaden were talking about. He has muscles on his muscles." Vyshena sighed as she brushed out her hair. "He's not all sunshine and rainbows."
"No, he's shadows and mystery. That's what make's him so hot." Rhiannon admitted while Vyshena sat down on her bed. "He's no mystery to me. He's a bad-boy whose only fucked one person." Rhiannon tilted her head to the side before diving her chin forward. "He's only had sex with one person? Wait, that means," she said while connecting the dots and gesturing her hand to Vyshena. "He's only slept with you?" She asked and Vyshena rose her brows.
"Now, if that ever comes to light he will kill both of us." Rhiannon giggled, "he's so sexy, though." She said, not believing it. "Wow, thats actually kinda hot. He'll only fuck you. Like, only you." Vyshena could see the gears turning in her head. "That actually makes him, sexier, I think." Vyshena shot a hand out and slapped Rhiannon's shoulder with a quiet laugh. "No, no, girl. He's all yours, I wouldn't dare take that from you. Especially with this new knowledge that he's secretly a lover boy."
Vyshena was on the flight field with Rio, the dragons mouth opened wide as Vyshena stood on the inside of her mouth. "I can't get it," Rio said, insisting that there was a bone stuck somewhere in her teeth and had been causing enormous amounts of pain for her. Vyshena pulled her dagger out, "found it." She stood on her toes, holding a hand to one of Rio's teeth as she balanced on another. Even on her tippy toes, "close a little please." And Rio's jaw slowly shut.
"Vyshena?" The girl snapped her head to the opening of Rio's mouth and Xaden stood feet away, kneeling down to see inside of Rio's mouth. Hands in his pockets as the warmth from Rio's mouth ensured Vyshena wouldn't get cold. It was actually quite nice, if she was being truthful. "Rio has a bone," she picked at the bone, pulling hard on it she stumbled back and onto Rio's tongue. Hearing the curses from the dragon, she apologized while pulling herself up and dragging the bone out with her.
"Stuck in her teeth." Vyshena threw it off to the side. Feeling how wet her back had become once tripping. "Right, uh, can I have a word?" He asked and she stared at him. "About?" Wondering if it would be worth her time.
He tried, he was finally honest to her after she asked and that meant she had to start trying. "Alithia."
March had shown up in the blink of an eye, along with the feet of snow outside. It reached Vyshena's knees in the part that wasn't cleared, making her runs in the morning come to a stop until it melts. "Squad battle!" Liam said while holding his hands on Vyshena's shoulders and jumping up and down.
"Okay so Venny in combat, riding, and studies. Got it!" Sawyer said as Vyshena rose her brows. "I'll take over riding, but that's it." She said, knowing she would end up competing in the riding tournament anyways.
Liam was in the last challenge of the fight portion of the Squad Battle. Everyone cheering for him beside's Vyshena who kept quiet, her eyes focused on the two wrestling on the mat. Everyone jumped at Mikael's cry, Liam pulling away only to get him into a hold position. He broke his back.
"Yes! Go, Liam!" Sawyer screams from behind Violet and Vyshena jumped from the loud noise. Liam rushed for the group, engulfing everyone in a hug as they jumped up and down with them. "Malek, free me." Vyshena joked as the bodies all hit each other.
"We're stealing the map out of General Sorrengail's office?" Vyshena asked after she caught up with the group. "You have weakness detection, that's probably not going to help at all." Imogen sighed as Vyshena furrowed her brows tight, "wow, okay." She answered while Rhiannon and Violet smiled at her.
Violet, somehow, never found out about the night Vyshena and Xaden shared. Despite it not being a night, just minutes. Xaden never brought it up and Vyshena never brought it up. As if it never happened.
"Where were you?" Sawyer asks her as she reties the leather to hold her braid in place. "None of your business, what's the plan?"
Vyshena was tucked behind Liam, then she was in General Sorrengail's office. But she was searching for anything besides what to take. This was the perfect opportunity, and by the time they got the map off of the wall and Rhiannon quite literally tugged Vyshena from the office, the group was sprinting down the halls to get to class on time.
Everyone found their seats, with Rhiannon leaning forward and breathing heavy, Violet taking slow breaths through her nose. Liam's leg bobbing up and down and Sawyer relaxed in his seat with his arm hung over the back of Vyshena's.
As Violet presented what they have, the entire classroom gasped and erupted into questions. "Safe to say I think we won."
"Liam, you have not even looked at a girl this year." Sawyer says that night as their squad stayed late in the cafeteria after dinner. "I have someone, she's just not here." His face blushed and Vyshena smiled wide. "You have someone?" Rhiannon gasped, "do tell." Even Violet had a sweet smile on her lips.
"We grew up together, she's," Liam had a light in his eyes. "Different than what you'd expect. Her name is Eon."
"So she's ugly?" Ridoc gasped, "far from it, actually." He answered for Liam while Vyshena took great offense to the statement she wasn't able to back up. "Wait, hold on. You were fostered though. Is it Duke Lindell's daughter?" Liam almost choked, "talk about ugly." Vyshena mumbled while Liam laughed. "No, it isn't. And I'd like to change the subject, please."
"Oh, come on. At least tell us what she looks like." It'd give it away all too easy and Liam's face blushes. "When did you get together?" Rhiannon asks, and Vyshena turns her head at Liam in a smile. Silence followed, "is she older?" Garrick asks, "no." Liam responded. "How old is she?" Rhiannon asks, "twenty one."
"Are you guys getting married after graduation? Is it that serious?" Ridoc questioned and Liam puffed his lips out. "Uh- no... It's different. More of a ritual, than a marriage." Rhiannon glanced to Vyshena who had a look of pride in her eyes. "She's amazing." She commented and Liam shared a look with her. "Okay, so Venny approves, so we all approve?" Sawyer asked.
"Hmm," hums went around the table. "Xaden, man, you gotta know Liam's secret lover!" Sawyer says excitedly as they saw the wingleader walking for their table. Rhiannon noticed how both- Vyshena and Violet kept their heads down. "That is classified. Lenayon, a word." Violet looked up quickly as Vyshena continued her meal. "I'm quite content listening to them try and pry information from Liam about Eon." Xaden rose his brows, hiding his smile.
"Not a question." He said and she glanced at Rhiannon who scrunched her nose. "I'll meet you tonight?" She offered and Vyshena nodded. "She'll be busy, she'll see you tomorrow." Vyshena couldn't help but think it has to do with their club, and followed Xaden out of the emptying dining hall.
"I need you to take some supplies to an outpost," she furrowed her brows and followed him to his room. "I can't, they'll know."
"No. I need Sca, to take some supplies to an outpost. Rio is not involved." Vyshena thanked the Gods that the elder wanted to bond with her, and also stayed out of her business. Not asking questions, not lingering, not telling her no. "Xaden, I-"
They reached the stairwell to third year and he turned to her. "No one else can, the fliers will be there waiting."
She furrowed her brows, "Catronia will be there." And she took a step back, anger on her face. "If I see her I'm lighting her on fire." She threatened and Xaden tried to hide the smile. "As much as I love the jealousy you have,"
"Jealousy? Last time her and I spoke she threatened your life and I lost control." Xaden smiled at the memory, "so you still want her dead?" He asked contently, "I'll always want her dead. She tried to take what is mine." His eyebrows quirked upward, "Is?" He asked, "was." Vyshena corrected quickly.
Xaden smiled, "the supplies are on the outskirts of the border to the north." Vyshena clenched her jaw. "Cat is only coming so you will be safe."
Vyshena nodded her head, handing her bag to Xaden, along with her jacket and she pulled her braid out of her hair. "No guarantee she will be, though. Remember," she started to walk backwards. "You asked for this."
Vyshena had spotted the bags right where Xaden told her they would be and heaved them over her shoulders. With a quick sigh, and a deep breath following, she started her journey to the designation.
It took her thirty minutes, with an extra fifteen of her walking through the waist high grass. Trying to locate the spot he told her where she'd meet with Cat, the girl grew impatient as she stood beneath a tree about the size of Rio and leaned against it. She sighed again, finding herself becoming bored as she waited, and waited, and waited.
"Wow," and then the hairs on her arms stuck up and she slowly turned her head to the right. "You finally were forced." Cat had a smug grin on her painted red lips as she crossed her arms over her chest and looked Vyshena up and down. Cat was forced back as Vyshena threw the zipped bags at her. "Everything's there."
"Hold on," Cat said, and Vyshena didn't know why she stopped. "You guys are on speaking terms?" Knowing the last time she saw the two interact, Vyshena had lit seven acres on fire, including half of an estate that was still trying to be rebuilt. "Well, unfortunately he's my wingleader so I don't really have a choice, do I?" Vyshena questioned. "God, I miss those shadows diving deep in my head."
Xaden was waiting in Vyshena's room by the time she got back. Smelling of fire and dragon, she slammed her door shut. "Gods," one look at her and Xaden lowered his head in his hands, not knowing why he sent Vyshena on this run.
Vyshena grabbed a cloth from her desk and placed it over her knuckles, seething as the rag soaked up the blood from her cuts. Xaden looked up past his hands, seeing the diagonal cut straight down her left eye. Starting an inch above her eyebrow and ended half-way down her cheek, her face covered in blood.
"What the fuck, did you do?"
"I'm fuckin' eating her Gryphon if it comes at me again."
