"Just tell me if she's dead." Violet sighed while Professor Markham sighed. She knows he cant give out classified information, yet here she was. "We were there. If its classified, then we already know about it." She responds, "she was found a couple miles out of Montserrat, unconscious and doesn't have her full memory on how she got there. Her team was scorched, so my guess is that a dragon found her." Violet's stomach fell to her feet.

"But she's alright?" Violet asked, "yes. No visible wounds." Professor Markham smiled and Violet let out a breath. "She's alive."

Vyshena was out by the river running laps. She wasn't sure what time it was, but the sun had finally rose. Xaden was spending all his time with Violet, Rhiannon was studying for exam season, and Liam found himself busy with a scribe. She was completely alone.

She came to a quick halt at the edge of the water. Her brows squinted as she stared at the horizon, where the vale was. She could get Rio, convince her to flee. They'd never see her again. She was the only one out here, unless she had eyes on her from inside but it wasn't likely.

"It's not worth it, princess." Rio's voice echoed in her head, "why not?" Vyshena asked. "There is more for you to do here. You will know when it is your time to leave." She spoke and Vyshena threw her arms in the air. "When did you become all mysterious?" Vyshena shouted while Rio hummed. "You'll know, princess."

"What language does Vyshena speak?" Violet asked Xaden during their break from sparring. Violet on her back and Xaden on his bottom. "Why?" He asked. "I was going to be a scribe, Xaden. I know languages, and I don't know hers." Violet explained, using her hands to tell the story. "It's called Alithian. It's the mothers tongue." He explained.

"Her mothers tongue?" Violet asked, "yes, but not in that context. It's the se udrir hen gods, there's no translation for it in our tongue. The language of all languages." Violet was still confused, seeing Xaden sigh. "It is the language the dragons speak." She sat up quickly. "The dragons have their own language?" She said in a gasp and Xaden kept his eyes on her.

"And you know it?" She asked and Xaden kept quiet. "Your dad and the King were close, right?" Violet asked and he nodded his head slowly. "How old is Vyshena?" Violet asked, "twenty one." He answered with out thinking. "So how did you learn the language?" Violet asked and Xaden crossed his legs.

"I grew up around it. It's the only language spoken at Alithia." He told and Violet slowly nodded. "Right, 'cause you grew up there?" She questioned and Xaden nodded again. "Same with Liam. His mom was in the group. The Kings most trusted allies." Xaden remembers how King Matavon was a wild character. Never taking things seriously until they needed to be.

"Vyshena's sister was born speaking the language." Violet paused, her brows furrowing while she tilted her head. "Sister?" She asked, and Xaden honestly didn't think of it. "Yeah, sister." He whispered, finally realizing what he said, and there was no mistake. "She has a sister? There's no record of another child being born in her bloodline." Xaden nodded, "they call their dragons children, sister, brother."

Violet was still confused, "her mothers dragon." Xaden said slowly. "But you said born speaking Alithian." He nodded, "yeah. The Alithian dragons are different, they speak to you nonstop. Literally all the time. They have fun personalities, complain a lot." Violet chuckled quietly without a smile on her lips. Something wasn't adding up.

"So, what's the deal between you and her?" She asked, picking at her nails. "What do you mean? I just told you, we grew up together." Violet rolled her eyes. "Yes, I know that. But there's something more between you guys." She said, moving around her pointer finger. "Nope. Nothing." He said, shaking his head.

He messed up by talking about her sister, he wouldn't give this up. This was their's, not anyone else's.

"Seriously? You'll talk about the lost kingdom, which is forbidden to speak about. But you won't talk about your history with her?" Xaden shook his head. "There is no history."

"I know you're lying." Violet answered, "you forget that were entwined." Xaden shut his eyes, wondering how long he'll sit here for this conversation. "Listen," Violet sighed. "I know you know that there are feelings," Xaden furrowed his brows. "And I just, I don't want to waste my time." Violet admitted, and Xaden truly wanted to laugh.

"Feelings?" He asked, Violet thought he was teasing. How he usually does. "Yes, feelings." She replied in a higher tone. "Uh, no feelings on this side." He said slowly and Violet's face turned to confusion. "Wait," she said.

"But you kissed me?" Xaden rose his brows. "I did." Answering. "You knew what Sgaeyl and Tairn were doing. You were out there for the same reason I was." He added. "So nothing?" Violet asked, feeling barbed wire around her throat. "I don't believe that." She told him, feeling her eyes sting hot and her nose became stuffy. "You need to." Xaden told her. Warned her.

"We will be stationed together forever. And, my priorities are elsewhere if you want honesty." Violet's lips parted. "Someone else?" She asked. "It's Vyshena, isn't it?" She needed to be quiet. "You lead me on, Xaden. You're flirty with me, make your stupid remarks, kiss me?" Violet asked, and she saw how there was not one hint that he was sorry.

"You know how badly she talks about you?" Violet asked, "I'm sure I've heard worse." He said, "I don't get it. I truly do not understand."

"You want to know the deal between Vyshena and I?" Xaden asked, sitting up. Violet caught on when Xaden said her full name, there was an accent to it. "Our parents had this brilliant idea to make sure the world remained in the palm of their hands even at their death. So Calanthe gave birth to a girl." Violet held her breath at the mention of the queen.

"I was twelve when the Rijībagon hen Arru - worship of Arru was held. It was my parents, the Mairi family, the King and Queen, Eon, Fyda, Izo, and Vyshena." Violet was still confused, she wished he would just say it. "We were bonded then, that night. But the bond was always there. You see, the Lenayon's are born with magic in their blood so they automatically have their gifts. So with Vyshena," he held out his hand.

"Eon and Fyda were learning with her. While Izo was learning with me." Violet tilted her head to the side. "Our dragons." He whispered and saw how Violet's face when white. "As were doing this, we're growing that bond. And with Vyshena being born to the most powerful dragon, you can except some powerful progress."

"So there isn't just that regular, bond, between us. We have the bond of our dragons, the gifts of our dragons. That connection that Sgaeyl and Tairn have? Where we, even feel it. That's the connection her and I have. Because my father thought of the brilliant idea to have his son tethered to a dragon for eternal protection." Violet was crying silently. "You have a dragon beside's Sgaeyl?" She asked.

"I had three other dragons." Violet sucked in a quick gasp. "They're Vyshena's children. Eon and Fyda are twins, Izo was born two years after."

"She died the night of the rebellion." Xaden said, "she was with Vyshena, who was searching for Eon and Fyda, Izo was with her. Vyshena was only sixteen, so she was very moody, very angry, almost all the time. You'll see that with Andarna in her teen years." Violet didn't think it was funny. "They were running through the castle where Eon and Fyda were instructed to hide if this ever happens. And they run into Melgren with his men." Violet leaned back, slowly shutting her eyes.

"Melgren thought the children were an abomination." Xaden's voice went deeper as more of the memory came back. "He told Vyshena that she's going to sit and watch as he tears apart Izo." Violet felt nauseas. "His men grabbed Vyshena, while Melgren grabbed Izo. She was behind in her growth and wasn't able to switch back and forth when she needed to, so she couldn't change."

"Vyshena's screams were so loud part of the castle had crumbled. The Kings ears started to bleed, and my father dropped to his knees. I got Eon and Fyda, then found Vyshena laying over Izo. The twins fell, and when Vyshena grabbed onto Fyda, she changed into this absolute beast." Violet slowly shook her head, not believing it. "I asked Vyshena why she didn't run and she said she was not going to leave our child to die alone."

"So Eon grabbed me and we fought. Imagine Melgren's surprise. Two teenagers laying waste to his oh powerful army. Remember when Vyshena mentioned in class, about how she told Fyda to flee?" Violet nodded, "she was with her. She stayed for her parents execution, and left. At sixteen, she left." Xaden said, "and she will leave again. She's waiting."

"What is she waiting for?" Violet asked quietly.

"To take revenge. So when I say it is only her, it is only ever going to be her. She is the reason I am here today, and will continue to be the reason." Violet grew to hate him this exact moment, and Xaden knew exactly what he was doing.

"Izo had a hard time bonding with Vyshena, so she came to me. With Vyshena's blessing, Izo picked me. It's rare when it happens, but it does. Izo still remained very attached to Vyshena, but when asked who her parent was, she said the both of us. Then Eon caught on, since she would host me during flight lessons sometimes. Then Fyda, who only ever said we the night of the rebellion." Violet glanced to her lap. "You have five dragons between you?" Violet could only think what type of power they have.

Since Xaden and Vyshena have a bond, one that Violet could never imagine, that has to mean they share gifts. And with three dragons that are actually born to Vyshena. Violet remembered every interaction she had with the princess. Trying to find any indication she was this powerful being. "Go for the spot on the inner thighs, make it hurt." She gasped, the voice was Vyshena. She was in her head.

"Six." Xaden corrected. He saw the confusion on her face, then Violet noticed how his lips tugged. "We have Tairn now."
