"I know it's early... or late, depending on your night, but we've spent all year training for this, so wake the hell up!" Vyshena had to give it to Dain, he had a voice that could get attention. Liam jumped slightly from the shout, while Rhiannon groaned from behind Vyshena.

"Riders quadrant!" Panchek shouted, his voice louder than usual. "Welcome to the last event of this years War Games." Then Vyshena felt it. A shift in the air, her shoe laces turned too tight, and her eyes found the back of Liam's head as she tilted her own.

She stared at it until the name rung through her head. "Athebyne." She shot her eyes to Violet who asked it. Then saw the excitement on Rhiannon's face. "Oh, no shit." Liam laughed, nudging Vyshena who nodded.

Thirty minutes later Vyshena was back in formation alongside Liam who zipped his flight leathers. Vyshena rebraided her hair, tight with prayers and luck as she tied the leather band around the ends and flung it back over her shoulder.

"Oh, thank the Gods." Vyshena sighed as she stepped out of formation once seeing Xaden walk over to her and wave his fingers. Dain stared at her as she walked over to him, then past him and into his squad.

Vyshena watched Xaden argue with Dain as Liam and Imogen sneak away. "Dain's a fuckin weirdo." Imogen mumbles as she straightened her back and looked forward. Violet and Xaden walked over, Violet speaking quietly but angry at him.

"Okay riders," Xaden sighed as Sgaeyl landed a few feet behind him. "Get on your dragon, lets go."

Rio flew beside Deigh, "do you have a bad feeling?" Vyshena asked as she saw Sgaeyl dive before flying back up. "How so?" Rio asked, keeping a steady pace. "I have a bad feeling. Like something is going to happen." Rio chuckled, "princess, something always has to happen. And unfortunately your friends can be killed, so easily."

"What happens if we get ambused? I can make sure everyone is safe but then that tells everyone the rumors are true and I'm probably executed." Rio stayed quiet, "yes, I agree." Humming as Vyshena thought about what could happen.

"Nothing is to happen, princess. You're to finish this, then go and graduate." Vyshena nodded. "It feels like years away."

It's almost one when the dragons land on the outskirts of Athebyne. All drinking water and some disappearing. Liam jumped from Deigh's back and ran into the forest surrounding them, with Imogen doing the same in the opposite direction.

Vyshena noticed how Violet squatted and rubbed her knee. "We're twenty minutes out from Athebyne, so hydrate! We have no idea what kind of scenario is waiting for us." Xaden called out while a member of Xaden's squad walked to Vyshena.

"Crazy that you bonded an elder." His accent was thick and not from here. She studied him up and down. His almost blue complexion, tight ringlet curls on the top of his head. "Yeah, it is." She responded, turning and walking over to Bodhi.

Vyshena opened her arms and fell into his chest as he spoke with Xaden. The girl catching herself on his arms while she dropped her body weight and he held onto her. She groaned as her back stretched, Bodhi slowly moving back and forth, continuing their conversation.

"I'm going to check on everyone. Vyshena, don't leave early please." Xaden said as he made his way toward Violet who sat against the trunk of a tree, seeing Vyshena push off from Bodhi and follow Xaden.

"Is this seriously how you dragon riders spend your time?" Vyshena snapped her head. The voice was too familiar, almost as if it was shouted down a long hall. Vyshena saw Syrena standing with a small smile on her face. Then she saw Vyshena, and she took steps back when Vyshena stared walking towards her.

"Vyshena," Xaden stood up quickly, while Garrick gasped. "V, wait." Syrena said as she blocked her face quickly, but she stumbled back and Vyshena shook out her wrist from the pain shot through it. "You lied to me." Vyshena told Syrena who stared at the ground with tears in her eyes.

"For years." Vyshena turned to Xaden. "Not only are you working with Cat but you're working with Syrena?" She asked Xaden who sighed. "You come near me, I'll gut you then your sister." Vyshena told Syrena who chuckled under her breath.

"What's the deal between them?" Violet asked Liam who rose his brows. "Uh, best friends turned mortal enemies? No one's quite sure what happened between them, they won't speak of it. Xaden doesn't even know." Liam spoke quietly while watching Vyshena push Xaden's chest as she walked off.

"Wait, they're fliers?" Violet asked, staring at Liam who slowly nodded his head. "We're working with them. They're helping us." Violet took a step back. "Helping us with what, Liam? They are the ones who keep attacking us." Vyshena laughed, turning around on her heels while she looked at Xaden.

"You willingly brought her here with out telling her?" Xaden looked to the other riders in his squad who were unaware. "Zip it." He told her, looking at Violet as he walked over. "This is incredible." Vyshena sighed.

Xaden did his best to explain the situation to Violet when Garrick screamed and grabbed Vyshena quickly. "What are you doing?" Xaden asked as Garrick ripped the blade out of Vyshena's grasp, ready to throw in Syrena's direction.

The brunette stared at Vyshena, sad eyes as she waited for Xaden to be done. "You know what? No!" Syrena shouted as she pointed her finger toward Vyshena and walked over to her. "I won't allow you to treat me this way. I don't deserve it. Cat doesn't deserve Scá. What the fuck were you thinking?" Syrena asked as Garrick took a step to the side. "I'm not talking to you."

Violet jumped when she yelled something foreign. Alithian. Her finger pointing again as she continued to yell. Syrena yelling the foreign language. Everyone seemed to know it besides Violet. Bodhi's eyes went wide as he stared at Xaden, "fuck. Vyshena-" Garrick grabbed the princess who flung herself at Syrena again.

"You are early!" Xaden shouted at Syrena who ignored him. Liam slowly walking over as Garrick dropped her and Liam grabbed her again. "It's not worth it, honestly." Liam told her, not truly knowing if it was worth it or not.

"No weapons, no blades, no shoes." Syrena shouted and Xaden shook his head. "No, no, no." Garrick laughed, interrupting the two girls. Liam quickly grabbed Vyshena's hands after she moved to unlace her boots. "No. We are on a mission." Xaden told them, "this can wait until after the mission."

"Why are you here now?" Xaden asked Syrena. "Venin took out a village in the vicinity two days ago. They decimated everything." Vyshena laughs, hitting her hand on Xaden's chest, her wild violet eyes shining.

"This is not war games, Xaden. This is war. We are at war."

The outpost was empty when Vyshena and Rio landed. They left early, dismissing themselves when the fliers left. She scaled down Rio's leg, and landed on her feet. "Anyone?" Vyshena asked, "none that I can detect." Rio responded as she climbed up the tower.

"Hello?" She asked, unsheathing her dagger while using her foot to kick open the door slowly. "Xaden, no one is here." Xaden turned around quickly, "where is Vyshena?" He asked, seeing everyone look around.

"The envelope addressed to you says it is our mission to survive if we can. Xaden, this is not war games and we are in danger." Vyshena told him. The air in the room turned cold, and she immediately felt the unknown presence. Rio hummed in the back of her head, and Scá purred in her throat.

"You are a delight." The voice was man, but looked inhuman when Vyshena turned. "Yeah? How so?" Xaden was screaming down the bond that Vyshena shut quickly. "So much power in such a small thing. It'd take me ages to drain you." She gasped, "right." Nodding her head slowly, moving toward the window.

"Your parents were one of a kind. No one wants to let the world know we exist, yet your parents were executed for the opposite." She knew her squad was on the way. "Theres hoards, Princess." Rio said, flying overhead while Vyshena hummed.

"Great." She mumbled, twirling the knife in her grasp. She quickly threw it, piercing through the venin's eye while she ran past the thing and down the long steps. Her breathing was heavy as she ran, jumping the last few and sprinting out the doors.

She grabbed another dagger as one met her outside, then noticed how the other from upstairs was behind her. "Rio, I have to switch!" Vyshena yelled as she kept glancing between them. "No! They're coming!" Rio shouted. "They touch the ground I'm dead, Rio. That's it." Vyshena was scared, terrified even as she stared death in the face.

"Channel it yourself, Princess! Drain them!" Rio shouted as Vyshena quickly squatted and slammed her palms into the ground. The venin had started to run, but the earth quickly died around her but a small circle where she stood. Her ears vibrated from the power and fingers tingled. One step felt like a thousand. She felt Sgaeyl land next to her and Xaden was quick to his feet.

Liam and Garrick, "get in the air." Vyshena coughed as she held herself up. "What did you do?" Xaden asked quietly while she rose her brows. "I'm going to explode." She said while Bodhi ran for them. "She needs to get somewhere. Possibly in the middle of the hoard." Xaden told his cousin.

Violet was running to them, seeing Bodhi holding up Vyshena. "What happened?"

"I'm going to take Vyshena and drop her into the hoard." Bodhi told Violet while a few others shared confused looks. "What?" Violet yelled, "it's okay. I can do it." Xaden remembers when she did it the night that caused the rebellion. Sucking in the earths power just to explode herself in a group. It worked, and there were no consequences to her body because of it.

"Violet, you need to forget everything you learned with Emetterio because all we need is an angry, over-powered Vyshena and we're good." Bodhi assured as he walked himself to his dragon, holding Vyshena up as he did.

"Everyone, up in the air!" Rio was flying over head in circles, keeping an eye on the hoard below her. "Up we go." Bodhi told Vyshena who pulled herself up. She hummed, rolling her neck and smiling. "Wanna feel?" She asked, projecting the power for a second to Bodhi who sucked in a harsh gasp. Adrenaline ran through his body, he felt like he could fly across the world and back in a day. "Fuck." Gasping as they ascended into the air.

Violet was back on Tairn, keeping eyes on the three by the hoard. "She's dropping." Liam pulled his goggles over his eyes, watching as Vyshena was dropped and she fell and fell and fell until the ground shook when she made contact with her body. Xaden's heart fell to his stomach, "come on." Bodhi was screaming something, shouting it down to Vyshena. Rio chirped, alerting Sgaeyl who had dived down with out letting Xaden know what was wrong.

"Light it!" Garrick screamed as Bodhi's dragon lit the group, including Vyshena, up into flames. The venin continued to stand. "I need to change!" It was screamed in Xaden's head. "I can't get out. They're surrounding me. I couldn't do it, something is stopping it." Violet looked past the horizon, seeing what looked to be another heard of riders. "Xaden?" Violet.

"What?"

"Dragons are coming in from the East." Xaden looked, Violet saw the fear in his eyes while he slowly looked down to the hoard. ""Scáthach!" Violet jumped from his screaming voice. It cracked, he was terrified. "Fall back!" His voice echoed while the dragons quickly flew away.

Violet kept her eyes on the hoard coming in, missing how Vyshena had been surrounded one second and the next a white and gold dragon had erupted from the earth and into the sky. Violet screamed, watching as the dragon tucked her wings before nose diving to the earth.

She evened herself out, flying past Sgaeyl and Xaden. Heading straight toward the hoard. "We need to do something about this!" Xaden shot his head toward the North. "Eon?" Liam asked, looking in the same direction.

"Father!"

"No, no," Xaden shouted while Violet stared in awe as two dragons had flew over the mountain peak and into the cove they were in. "Girls, go home."

"Where is mother?"

"Do not land!" Xaden shouted, casting it so everyone could hear him. "There is still a hoard below us. Eon and Fyda are here to help us. Do not, in any circumstances, get in their way. They will kill you." Xaden warned as Violet kept her eyes on Fyda.

Noticing how Eon had circled around Liam and Deigh. Deigh raising his neck showing submission as Eon rubbed her head along Deigh's neck. Fyda was in bound of the hoard, and with one eye on Fyda and one on Scá, he missed when another group of wyvern flew over the south peak of the mountain, heading directly for his squad.
