Ericson's POV

After I confessed to my family her family came and the dinner was awkward and full of questions. Mostly from my Mother to Emily about the twins and how she has been getting along in Louisiana. I was interested to know, so I listened. She told us how the twins were born, when she found about out her grandmother and she left her company along with financial needs to take care of herself. That is an understatement she is a freaking billionaire! I think. I can tell it was a sore subject. Because right when she mentioned her grandmother her father tensed up. "So my...mother left it to you?" he asked in a shocked tone.

She nods her head "yes daddy she left it all to me." He cuts his eyes then smirks "that stubborn old bat... at least she left it to someone in the family." Her father has always been a hard man to read and both of her brothers are just like him. I'm kind of glad I didn't say anything in front of her father. He may have killed me! I think to myself I'm not scared of any man. It's not in me to cower but Emily's father makes me cautious. I can tell he used to be someone who didn't take disrespect. Cheating on his only daughter and breaking her heart. Is one of the highest signs of disrespect! Her brother Alexi looks at his little sister. He is the oldest of the three. He was tall with dark brown hair. He had the same eye color as his sister. You could tell from the look in his eye that he missed her.

"Why did you hide from us Ems? We had to find out about you and Ericson's divorce second hand." She looks to him you could tell she wanted to say something but it seems like she couldn't. "I just needed some time to think I didn't mean to make you feel like I didn't care." The conversation seemed to take a surprising turn. When one of the housekeepers comes in holding the twins. "They woke up and were asking for their mother." Emily gets up from the table "thank you Francesca" her mothers eyes widen "oh my Emily are these ... your children." I hear her father mumble about more that he got to miss out on. It makes me wonder why she didn't tell her family. Did they have a falling out or something that I didn't know about. I make a mental note to check into that when I have some spare time. I could just ask Emily but would she be comfortable enough to actually tell me the truth.

Emily looks towards her mother as she holds Kayla in her arms. She hid her face and Blaze stood beside her but he kept his eyes on the people at the table. You could tell Kayla takes after Emily so shy but a force to reckon with when need be. And Blaze is just like me he observes but doesn't show any fear like he is in protector mode. I stand up as well as speak "let's have this conversation later the children shouldn't be around for it." I know Emily doesn't want the twins to know just yet. This secret she is trying to keep is going to just get harder to keep. But I do understand her point we should tell them but not now. Not in front of the whole damn family. I look at my father he quickly changes the subject. Jessica gets up to help Emily make plates for the twins. The dinner quickly came to an end. My brother and I walk to the living room with Emily's brother's. It's time for us to talk business and come up with a plan to handle this situation. Emily walks upstairs with the twins to get them ready for bed.

I walk into the living room making myself a drink as I speak. "We are all here for one reason. And the quicker we figure this out the better." I down my shot then walk to the couch taking a seat before I continue. " Alexi what do you have for me?" He looks at me before he continues. "I have some old buddies of mine from the Marines. Who misses the good days and is looking for work I can have them here in the morning. They can help the guards." I listen to his words it may be good to have more guards. Especially with my children here. I look at him "Make the call" he nods when he hears my words. I look towards my younger brother as he speaks. "I have one of my contacts looking into some information for me. After that shit happened with Mom Dad never leaves her side." That's understandable if it were Emily I would be the same way. I look towards Emily's other brother Andros "I need you to get a team together I want eyes on anyone this bastard is connected to, I already have one of my friends cutting off his financial resources. When this happens he is going to have to reach out for help that's when we will have an opening to take them down. This time I want him and anyone who is helping him dead!" They could tell from the look of my eyes that I'm serious. I want every adult dead..hell even the dog. Then we ship any minors out of the country and shred their documents so they don't come back to the states. This problem is between adults and that's how it will be handled I don't believe in dragging children in it.

Once I finish speaking everyone gets up to go to their rooms to rest. I decided to wait I want Emily to be comfortable. I know rooming with me isn't ideal I walk out back to the garden I showed her earlier. As I walk I think about all the things I missed out due to my stupid mistake. As I walk I hear footsteps behind me. I turned around to see who it was and it was just Emily. She was wearing some pants with a long sleeve shirt since it was getting cold out. When I see her come closer I say "I thought you went to go to sleep?" She stops just inches in front of me seeing her standing there looking beautiful. Even without all that make up she was a natural beauty. She always has been the make up just enhanced what she already had. " I couldn't sleep so I decided to take a walk." Her voice was soft as she looked around. The moon seemed to add a natural light to the garden.

We decided to walk as we talked I got to ask her more about the twins. Then it got a little more serious we talked about how we both were feeling all those years ago. She told me why she stopped trying and I realized I did too. I was so used to being with Emily and I truly thought she would never leave. I told her that I truly didn't know what I had. We begin to make our way to the house that's when she stops and turns to me. "I wanted to say thanks for standing up for me and telling your mother what happened all those years ago." I sigh walking in to be honest I should have told her the truth the first day. I know what she assumed but it was easier than saying I fucked up. My mother believes marriage is for life, and if you hit a rough patch, you work it out. She doesn't believe in cheating, not on your wife. I don't think my father ever cheated on my mother. They probably have never hit a rough patch, not with the way they love each other. I smirk my signature cocky smirk. "No problem, wifey." She just rolled her eyes with a smirk as she walked away.

As I walk towards the room, all I think Is I'm wearing her down, she wants me! Once we get to the room, she walks to the bed, laying down. "You can take the other side." She puts a pillow beside her."This is the border. You stay on your side, and I will stay on mine." I cut my eyes from her words "really Emily you know I can just roll over that to get you.." I smirk,"but I will behave. " I take off my shirt after I speak. Walking to the bathroom, I could feel her eyes on me. I shut the door, turning on the shower. After a 25-minute shower, I get out putting on some basketball shorts. Once I walk out, I see Emily is already sleeping. I walk to the bed falling asleep.

Emily POV

I groan out "ugh move your fat ass over." That tone of my voice was groggy since I was still sleepy. As I begin to wake up, I think Wait, I don't sleep with anyone in my bed! I shoot up, looking around when the memories from yesterday begin to come back to me. I look to the side of me seeing Ericson sleeping on top of the pillow. "So much for a border" is all I say as I get out of bed. I walk to my suitcase, grabbing everything I need for the day. I walk into the restroom to get ready. After brushing my teeth and washing my face, I get into the shower. After a 30-minute shower, I get out and begin to moisturize my body. I get dressed and do some light makeup. I walk to the room, and the twins are in to check on them. When I look in the room, I see that they are still sleeping. I smile as I watch them for a moment. They should be getting up soon, I think, as I walk out walking downstairs.

I walk into the kitchen to see the chef cooking breakfast. I offered to help her, and she smiled saying "it's okay, I get paid to do this." I smile softly,"I know, but I like to make myself useful. " she laughs softly before she speaks,"Thank you, trust me. I appreciate the help. There are way more people to feed this morning" I wash my hands and begin to help her prepare breakfast. She tells me about her time working for Ericson she was hired after I left. As we talk, people start walking downstairs. Evie walks down with Genesis. Genesis got in late last night, so I didn't get to see her. She looks the same except now she has red hair. She looks at me and says, "Good morning Emily, where are those adorable twins I have been hearing so much about." I smile, walking to her to hug her as I speak."They are still sleeping." She hugs me back as she speaks. "You promised that I would be there for your first child's birth. I'm going to kill Ericson for making me miss it!" As we pull apart, she wipes the tears from her cheeks. "Don't do that it's not all his fault! I should have reached out when I found out. But I was working through my emotions on what happened and needed a change of scenery." I say to her. We all talk for a while as I help set the table. After I finish, I begin to say, "I should wake the twins up for breakfast."

I walk to the room they are in, and I see Blaze up walking around the room. "Momma" is all he says with a smile on his face when he sees me. I walked to him, hugging him. "Good morning, baby boy, how did you sleep?" He hugs me tight, then he begins to tell me about a dream he had. "Yeah, then my daddy came and saved us." My eyes widen. This is the first time in a long time that he has brought up his Daddy. I get up to pick out their outfits for the day. "Oh wow, your daddy came that must have been exciting." He nods his head and then looks down. I noticed the change in his demeanor. I walk to him, kneeling down before I say, "What's wrong, baby boy?" He sighs sadly."Why don't we have a Daddy?" His words broke my heart. I was being so selfish, and now it's slapping me in the face in the worst way possible. It's causing my children to feel pain. I sigh before I speak, "You guys have a father, and he loves you two very much."

He listens to my words, "I want to see my daddy!!" Is all he says loudly, and I have to shush him. But Kayla was already waking up. "I promise you will see him soon." I stand up saying good morning to Kayla. Then I start getting them ready. Before I finish, Ericson comes in and offers help. Which I gladly accept. Two sets of hands are always better than one. Once we are done getting them dressed. He walks down, holding Kayla, and I walk down, holding Blaze. Kayla was busy telling Ericson about the Tessi doll, which is her favorite doll. He listens like it's the most interesting thing in the world. Once we walk into the kitchen, Genesis looks up from the table. She was sitting with her older son. He looked to be 11 years old now. As she looks at the twins, she says, "Oh my gosh, they are too cute!" She gets up rushing towards us."She looks so much like me when I was that age." Is all she says she continues to speak,"and he looks just like you, Ericson, like completely." Blaze eyes light up as he hears her speak. "She pretty!" Is all he says, and she laughs "oh thank you, sweetie, you are too adorable. " she looks at her brother and says he is nothing like you."

Ericson cuts his eyes before he says "haha very funny, Genesis." He walks to the table, helping Kayla sit down, and I help Blaze. My brothers Andros and Alexi walk in from the back house. He smiles as he sees Kayla and Blaze. "If it isn't my favorite niece and nephew!" I hear Alexi say I just laugh from his words as I hug them both before I speak. "They are your only niece and nephew." He laughs, shrugging his shoulders,"and whose fault is that Andros can't just pick a girl already he acts like it's so hard." Andros cuts his eyes, mumbling some not so nice words to our brother. I laugh, then I sit down to eat. I make the twins plates first before I make my own. Once Jessica and Derrick come down, everyone begins to talk and laugh while we all enjoy breakfast.

"What is your plan for the day?" Is all I say to Jessica as we eat. She tells me that she plans on going to see her parents she told them she will be in town and wants to stop by." I tell her to tell her mother hello. Ericson looks to me. "I have to stop by the office to handle something, and I would love for you to come see what I did with the place." I eat some food then take a sip of my orange juice as I say. "You know I would love to, but I have to stay with the twins." He eats some food with a smirk "oh they can come too. Maybe we could stop at a park on the way back." Right when he said park, he had Blaze and Kayla's attention. "Oh please, mommy...please!" Is all I hear both of them say in unison. I cut my eyes "fine we can go. But first, eat the rest of your breakfast." I see Ericson smiling like he just won the lottery. He gets up. "I have to go get ready, but I should be ready in 40 minutes." He says as he walks out. I just cut my eyes as I think to myself, what is he planning?
