"No." She said walking into my office and I trailed after her like a puppy.

"Just think about it darling." I said calmly .

"Hmm... No." She said and I grunted.

She walked to my desk grabbing the dagger that she had left there yesterday before tucking it into the pocket.

"Please?" I asked and she laughed. "Come on please baby."

"Oh my god Enzo I'm not going to marry you!" She said and I grabbed her hand.

"Why not?" I asked and she sighed.

"Because we just met." She said with a grin.

"What?!" I blurted. "Are you feeling ok?"

"Look last time didn't count ok." She said cupping my face in her hands. "This is a fresh start. Don't you wanna get it right this time?"

"Whatever you want." I finally sighed pressing a kiss to her lips.

"Good." She said and I dug my fingers into her thighs. She smacked my hand away and I groaned in frustration.

"What is it now?" I asked and she grinned mischievously at me.

"I'm hungry." She said and I kissed her neck.

"We can eat after." I mumbled without taking my mouth off her neck and she smacked my chest.

"I'm hungry now." She grumbled at me and for my own safety I gave in.

"Fine let's go." I said and she pressed a kiss to my cheek before walking out of my office.

We went to a restaurant and got lost in the marriage debate again. She said that it was too soon and I personally didn't think it was. I mean what was the point of waiting? We were gonna get married anyway so what's a better time than the present?

But at the end of the day whatever she wanted was what I wanted so if she wanted to wait I would wait. I was getting kinda tired of her winning everything.

"I need to go to the penthouse." She said and I frowned.

"No you don't." I said opening the door of the restaurant for her.

"Yes I do. My laptop is there." She grumbled. "I haven't been able to work in three days."

"I don't see a problem." I said and she rolled her eyes.

"Well it is a problem." She said. " I have an empire to run baby."

"Don't remind me." I grumbled. For a moment I'd forgotten who our families were. "Fine let's go get your stupid laptop."

She kissed me and I bit back the smile that was threatening to take over my face. Great I was a dopey loved up idiot.

We got to the penthouse and I told the driver to wait in front of the building because we wouldn't be long.

I walked a bit behind her as she walked towards the entrance of the penthouse and she grabbed my hand interlocking our fingers.

"I love you." I whispered and she tossed me a smile.

"Ok you seriously need to stop saying that every two minutes." She said with a grin. "But... I love you too."

She kept walking pulling me along with her . All of a sudden she stopped walking in fact I wouldn't be surprised if she stopped breathing.

"Madelyn?" I asked looking at her concerned but she didn't look at me. She kept her eyes ahead of us.

"Papa?" She muttered and I finally looked up seeing Ivan Sokolov. His eyes were on her and she quickly snatched her hand away from mine. She took a step away from me and my eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

"You're late." He said and her eyes dropped to the floor. What the fuck?

"I- I know." She said and his eyes narrowed as they darted between us.

"I hope you haven't been getting... Distracted." He said and she walked towards him.

"God papa I'm here aren't I?" She said angrily. "I did what you fucking wanted so don't question how I did it."

"Sorry dorogoy ." He said pressing a kiss to her forehead when she came to stand next to him.

He pulled out his gun and I reached for mine.

"I wouldn't do that." He said looking at my hand. "You're surrounded."

I finally looked around seeing that I was in fact surrounded. I dropped my hand from my gun and he grinned.

"Well let's make this quick." He said pointing his gun at me. "You have been a pain in mine and my daughter's side for too long."

I looked at Madelyn but she refused to look at me. No if she wanted us to end it would end on my terms.

"Fuck this." I said glaring at her. "You want me dead darling then man up and do it yourself."

"Wh-what?" She asked her eyes widening.

"You still respect me as a mafia leader no?" I asked her father. "Then allow me to die on my own terms. I want her to shoot me."

"Wait papa." She said and he pushed the gun into her hand.

"Just do it so we can be rid of all this Madelyn." He said and I kept my eyes on her challenging her to do it.

"Come on darling do it." I urged her walking towards her.

I grabbed her hand holding the gun and forced her to point it at my chest.

"Do it." I told her and she stared up at me with tear filled eyes.

"This was your plan right?" I asked her feeling my throat become tight. "You made me think you were in love with me and then led me to my death right? So do it. Kill me."

I pressed the gun into my chest and her hands holding it shook as she stared at me.

"Lorenzo." She whispered and I swallowed the lump in my throat.

"Please." I begged her. "Please just kill me."

Tears rushed down her face and she choked out a sob.

"I- I can't." She whispered before moving her hand to her side.

"Well I can." Her father muttered before grabbing the gun from her hands and pointing it at me.

Everything seemed to move in slow motion after that . I wasn't sure when I heard the shot go off all I know is I never felt the impact of the bullet. I wasn't sure when she had covered my body with hers. Or when the bullet had hit her back in an attempt to shield me.

"Madelyn!" Her father shouted but I was frozen.

Her arms were wrapped around my neck as she held onto me tightly and I immediately picked her up in my arms.

"No no no!" I shouted seeing the blood soak her shirt. "What the fuck were you thinking?"

"It's ok." She said stroking my cheek with her shaky hand and I carried her .

"It's not ok." I told her. "I'm not done with you yet darling."

Yep I did it. I got the main character shot. OOPS don't hate me too much.

This book is almost over and let's be honest guys. This book was just a crazy bundle of plot twists so what better way to end it then with another plot twist?
