Mischa POV (Something new wooo!)

The Ukrainian strode over to Noel who was sitting by himself, picking at his polished nails. Mischa plopped down next to him, taking a swig of the vodka he had found earlier. After he finished, he offered it to Noel.

"Drink?" he asked, smiling at the pure confusion on Noel's face.

"Where'd you get that?" he shot back, brows furrowing.

Mischa gestured over to Jane who was still quietly conversing with Ricky,

"It's Borthday," he replied, accent slightly ruining his pronunciation.

Noel slowly took the Vodka, looking at it wearily before taking a drink. He paused, swishing it around in his mouth before swallowing it with a slight struggle. He looked at the bottle, and took another swig.

"I've never been drunk before," he admitted, looking at Mischa with a slight smile. "Or kissed a man...thanks."

Mischa returned the smile, giving Noel a playful nudge. The Ukrainian mumbled a 'your welcome' in Russian, before looking off into the distance of the warehouse. Everyone was keeping to themselves, Jane speaking with Ricky, Ocean and Constance murmuring to each other quietly. All except for Y/n.

She sat over by Karnak, mumbling to the fortune telling machine quietly. The Ukrainian couldn't help but stare for a long moment, watching her with trained eyes, not realizing Noel had noticed.

She sat on a ledge, legs crossed, showing off her uniform's Mary Janes and white socks, that hugged her legs oh so perfectly. Though really, the thing Mischa loved about her was her eyes, e/c and glinting with kindness and empathy.

He still couldn't believe she gave up her chance at another life for him. Sure, Y/n always put others before herself, but he never knew she liked him that much. Back when they were alive, she rarely talked, and mostly spoke through body language.

Now that he thought about it, she showed many signs of preferring Mischa over the rest of the choir. She always stayed behind after choir practice to make sure his adoptive parents came to get him, and if they didn't, she would walk home with him.

She offered him advice, and he would usually just brush it off. And yet, in the middle of the night he would stare at the ceiling and think to himself about what she had said to him.

Y/n saw him for who he was, not who he seemed to be.

Mischa discreetly glanced down at his phone, flicking the screen on and looking at the lock screen. It was a picture taken of Y/n, holding a kitten with a bright smile. It was taken for an ad for a pet adoption company, and she had volunteered to help.

"You must really like her," Noel piped up, slightly startling the Ukrainian.

An amused expression painted his face as he looked at Mischa, gesturing over to Y/n who continued to converse with Karnak who listened with mild interest. (Dad Karnak and kid Y/n tell me otherwise.)

"Yeah," he admitted bluntly, fiddling with the bottle of vodka Noel had apparently handed back to him. "I do."

Noel looked amused, giving his friend a pat on the arm.

"You got nothing to lose," he offered, giving a slight shrug.

Mischa thought for a long moment, before rising up. He wasn't a wus, and decided he would go talk to Y/n. But before he did, he looked back down at Noel.

He looked back up at him, a sweet smile adorning his lips. Like him and Y/n, Mischa and Noel didn't talk much. And the Ukrainian was regretting that now, seeing just how much of a good friend he was.

"Thank you, Дорога," he told Noel, giving a curt nod before departing over to the Quietest girl in town.

Karnak noticed Mischa before she did, his cogs whirring as he turned his head to face him as he stepped up. Y/n was quick to catch on, spotting Mischa and offering a lighthearted smile followed by a wave.

"Hi Mischa," she chimed, resting her clasped hands in her lap as she looked up at him. "Would you like to come sit?"

The Ukrainian failed at a response, so he just hummed in reply before sitting down next to her. Though he would've loved to spill out his heart to her, it was weird having Karnak hovering over the both of them like a protective father. (Y/n and Karnak father-daughter relationship fight me.)

Thankfully enough, the fortune-telling machine seemed to power down momentarily, leaving Y/n and Mischa alone. That's what he hoped at least, but decided to just go with it.

"Your love for Talia is honestly admirable," Y/n suddenly spoke, looking over to Mischa with a smile.

Well- this was slight awkward now. Mischa cleared his throat, looking to the side as he tried to think of an excuse. And he would have to make it believable.

"Talia...isn't actually her name," he admitted, looking back to Y/n who had tilted her head in confusion. "It's just a codename because the person I love is actually in the choir."

Y/n's mouth parted in an 'o' shape in realization, looking back out at the warehouse. There was only three people she could guess from, Jane, Ocean, and Constance.

"Is-is it Constance?" she asked, blinking up at him with a furrowed brow.

Mischa bit his tongue, shaking his head and looking down at the bottle of Vodka he now gripped onto for dear life.

"It's-" before Mischa could spit out an answer and confess, he was interrupted by Karnak suddenly powering on again and beginning to speak.

"Constance Blackwood, born November 14th, Scorpio, the secret nature," he began, and Y/n and Mischa quickly darted away to let Constance have her moment. It was strangely sorrowful. "Favorite Ride: The Cyclone. The only honor Constance Blackwood received in her life was 'nicest girl in town.' Three years in a row. An award she secretly threw away in the dumpster behind the local Kentucky Fried Chicken on her way home."

Karnak then went on and on about how much a sad life Constance lived, and Mischa felt pity for her for once. He was actually quite jealous of her, the fact she got a happy life in her hometown, with her family. Mischa wanted her life.

But now he realized that she didn't live as happy of a life as he assumed, and he felt guilty for longing for it, for being envious of how happy she was when she was in fact, not happy at all.

After she finished monologuing, Ricky stepped forward. In his hand was a microphone, and he slowly handed it to Constance with a little nod. It was poetic, really.

Then in the background, a gentle guitar was strummed to catchy beat.

I see the world with all its backward upside down,

There's nothing wrong with being the nicest girl in town

Oh everything's clear,

Now that I'm here on my,

Sugar Cloud

The choir began to step forward, and did a little dance as she began to sang. Everyone's mouth moved on their own, offering backing vocals as Constance slowly got more confidence in her voice.

Oh my soul it sings a song so sweet and pure

I've felt it all along but now I'm sure

Oh everything's love looking down from above on my

Sugar Cloud

Oh la la la la la

The beat dropped, and everyone was in control of their bodies again. But they didn't run away, or try to stop Constance's singing. Instead, everyone kept dancing, letting away their sorrows of their death and just letting euphoria take over.

Let me take you away,

To a sky of cotton candy

Show you the world from above!

Oh up up up on my cloud,

Oh my sugar coated day

Will you love me till the day that I die?

It makes me wanna sing!

I see the gold, I see the pink, I see the blue!

The sun goes up

The sun goes down, oh what to do?

Oh everything's clear, now that I'm here on my

Sugar Cloud!

Constance then darted over to the side, the choir following. She picked up a recorder, handing the mic to Ocean who held it up to the horn of the instrument, and Constance began to play a little riff. The rest of the choir then began to dance, feeling nothing but pure joy as their friend sang her heart out.

After her solo, she took the mic back before heading backstage to the warehouse, before appearing on the little stage that stood higher. The choir then gathered there, like a little mosh pit.

I used to think that life was just a jawbreaker!

Jawbreaker!

You suck, and you suck, and you suck some more!

I used to think that life was just a heartbreaker

It burns and it burns till you can't no more!

Constance then jumped down from the stage, everyone but Mischa standing behind her. As they did that, Mischa's body was guided to the back to grab was seemed to be a little confetti launcher.

And now I'm floating high on a cloud

And I could puke a rainbow!

Oh,

Oh,

Oh,

Oh

La la la la la

Constance stood on a crate, Mischa launching up the confetti. The floor began to spin, and the choir began to cheerily dance around her, smiles adorning everyone's faces as they did so.

Though Mischa was mostly focused on Y/n. Confetti littered her h/c hair, and her eyes sparkled in the glittering lights. She looked up at Constance in pure adoration, dancing with nothing but pure joy as she watched her friend take the stage.

I see the world with all its backwards upside down!

There's nothing wrong with being the nicest girl in town

Everything's clear on my Sugar Cloud!

Oh everything's love looking down from above on my

Sugar Cloud

Then everything went dark, and the choir knelt before Constance. She looked down at Y/n, who had a smile of anticipation on her face. She gave a nod, looking excited while trying to contain her joy.

Oh everything's clear...

Now that I'm here

On my...

She paused again, looking down at Ocean, Y/n, Ricky, everyone. They all loved her for who she was, and not who she appeared to be.

Sugar....Cloud!

Look at me now on my Sugar Cloud!

And then everything went dark.
