*A month later*
The past month had to be the most amazing month of Florian's life.
Nothing out of the way occured to trample their newly formed happiness.
He got coronated, although some remained owl-faced, still most of the members welcomed him with open arms.
Since he doesn't have any skill or experience, Feather got him admitted in an institution, where studying and werewolf-life guide are taught side by side.
Florian was so excited on his first day, he couldn't stop bouncing on his toes. He'd never went to school or any institution to acquire knowledge, so it's a huge thing for him.
Feather dropped him off and couldn't suppress her smile seeing her mate to excited and passionate about something.
It only encouraged her to be determined that she'd do anything to make her Omega happy for the rest of their lives.
It is a warm sunny day, and the pair strolls around the human park.
Another stuff Florian enjoys a lot is visiting human sides more and more. Feather always accompanies him on those visits, she doesn't trust humans.
"What do you want to eat? I'll get something from there." Florian asks, pointing to the vendor machine at the end of the park.
Feather shakes her head. "I'll be here. You can get what you want."
Florian nods and scurries away while the Alpha makes herself comfortable on a bench, her glittery eyes roaming around the scenery before her.
Many kids are playing around, squealing and screaming for no reason. Their parents trying to control them but they are full of energy and wouln't come in grasp.
Her mind slowly drifts to her childhood, though Juliene and her barely got any. Their childhood was snatched away from them and they were forced to adapt adulthood at an early stage.
She often assures herself that it doesn't matter, she can't miss something she hasn't ever experienced.
Yet she feels a dull ache. Wandering about a time where Juliene and her would've played with toys and dolls, not with guns or knives.
A dry chuckle escapes her at the thought.
"What's so funny?" Florian asks curiously, sitting down next to her with a corn dog stick and a cotton candy stick.
"Are you gonna have both of them?" She laughs.
Pouting the boy grins at her. "Yes. And you won't even get a bite." He sticks his tongue out and Feather laughs a little loudly.
"Fine, you big baby." She playfully ruffles his hair.
"Answer my question now." He demands, starting on his cotton candy as it'd disappear if not eaten fast.
Sighing, the Alpha looks around with a sad yet content smile. "I was thinking about our childhood. How would it be if my parents were alive and we didn't have to grow up faster than normal.
Would I be less of a dark hearted soul then?"
Florian'a face contorts in an adorable frown, as if he's calculating his answer in his head. He scoots a bit closer and looks up at her with a stern gaze.
"You're not dark hearted. You're the brightest soul I've ever seen. Don't talk bad about my mate."
His words catch the girl off guard. It's still a surprise to her how far their relationship has come.
Before, Florian could barely talk to to her without stuttering. Now, looking at him, she feels a sense of accomplishment.
She has won his trust. His comfort zone. She feels proud of their bond.
Smiling sweetly, Feather tucks some hair behind his ear. "Okay. I won't."
Florian grins as if he'd won something before busying himself in finishing his candy.
They stay side by side in a peaceful silence hovering between them. No need for words when a thread is literally connecting their hearts, passing each word through fleeting emotions.
"When the Luna was alive, she'd let me have so much fun. She'd buy me toys, give me chocolates and take me to parks to play."
Feather turns to him as he speaks, keeping his gaze on his food or sometimes at the kids playing.
"She's the only mother figure I've ever known. She loved me so much. Even Alpha Patrick was nice back then. They didn't have any kids so they treated me like one. Then the Luna died and- you know the rest." He smiles a little.
"I'm thankful that at least you got to experience some sort of childhood. Even for a short amount of time."
Feather takes his now free hand as the rest of the cotton candy has evaported. She interwines their fingers together.
"I have an idea!" Florian suddenly exclaims.
Feather stays confused while he finishes off his corn dog quickly before throwing the sticks away. He cleans his hands and pulls Feather up on her feet.
"What is it?" She asks as he starts dragging her. "Flo!"
"Just follow me!" Florian giggles.
He takes her to the swing set and gestures for her to sit on it. Feather raises a brow, as if daring him to repeat.
"Come on, Fea!" Florian whines impatiently, pulling at her hand.
"Don't make sounds like that." She growls.
Florian cheekily smirks. "Then do as I say!"
Rolling her eyes, Feather smiles lop-sidedly. This boy could literally get her to do anything.
How did he get so much excess? Oh yes, she granted him.
She huffs and sits on the little plastic bench. "Now hold the strings tight." She does so.
Florian goes behind her and gathers all of his strength then pushes her with all his might. A little surprised yelp leaves her as she flies high up then back and high again.
"Fun, isn't it?!" The Omega yells over the gushing of the wind, pushing harder and laughing as Feather lets out little shrieks.
Feather's unable to respond as she focuses on not falling off. She slowly looks around as she goes higher.
The sun dipping behind the horizon, the light cool breeze brushing her face and a sound of laughter. Wait, it's her.
She's laughing. Feather hasn't laughed like this in Goddess knows how long.
Florian looks up at her with a warm twinkle, heart feeling so content and tickly seeing her smiling so wide.
It's like he's finally done something for her.
He feels so good to see her carefree and laughing heartily. It boosts his energy and he pushes the swing again.
"Stop! No more." Feather says between laughter.
Florian grabs the strings and stops the swing, both flushed in the face and still laughing.
"Th-that felt so good."
"I know, right? Now let's go to the next one!" Florian doesn't let her reply as he drags her to the slides.
She doesn't protest much and complies. All the kids giggle at the grown ups having fun at their playground but soon they join in.
They play tag, hide and seek, or just chasing around. Laughter flows around the wind as the day slowly comes to an end.
It has to be the only day where the young Alpha has let go of her stress this much just to live in the moment and enjoy life at the fullest.
And it's all thanks to her wonderful mate.
