Soft rays of the morning sun pierces from in between the curtain covered windows, dancing around the pale yellow walls of the room.
The warmth of the surays breaks Florian's exhausted slumber, and he wakes up with a smile.
But his smile doesn't last as the events from the previous night flashes in his mind. Feeling of guilt washes over him and he ducks his head low, twiddling with his fingers.
As he had already planned, he'd do anything to make it up to her today. Maybe prepare that dinner and get some flowers for her from the garden.
No one would mind, right?
With last bit of hope in mind, Florian gets out of the bed and makes it like usual. He follows up his routine, showering, dressing up and then going downstairs to the kitchen.
It is not as busy as yesterday, but Kaya's here, preparing breakfast.
Florian quietly makes his way to the cabinets and begins his work on waffles for breakfast. He doesn't want to be a disappointment again.
"Aleph!" Kaya exclaims upon seeing him, a sweet smile on her face. "Oh hush, you don't have to do all this. Just take a seat and I'll bring you breakfast."
"No, it's okay. I'll be quick today. I'm really sorry for how I behaved yesterday." He quickly justifies himself.
Kaya shakes her head, a drop of fear flashing across her eyes for a brief second. She suddenly takes his hands and pulls him away from the counter.
"I'm the one who should apologise, Aleph. I shouldn't have pushed you into working. Please, forgive me."
Florian squeezes her hands. "It's okay, you're my mother's age. You can always ask me to do anything."
Kaya smiles warmly at the boy. "Thank you, but really, you don't have to do anything. Alpha Feather has covered everything.
Also, all the other Alphas have arrived just an hour ago. You should be getting ready to greet them with the Alpha."
Florian's stomach twists at the idea of meeting so many strong and dominant people.
He is an Omega, obviously they're gonna look down on him. Or worse, make fun of Feather because of him.
He'd hate for Feather to feel ashamed in front of the others more than anything.
"Come on, go and get ready!" Kaya ushers him out of the kitchen, giving his butt a small motherly pat.
"Alright, alright." Florian chuckles and gets back to their room with a heavy heart.
Pacing the room, he ponders over various ideas on what could be done to thaw the ice around his Alpha when his eyes land on the garden from the windows.
He used to make amazing flower crowns when he was a little boy. He'd make them and the Luna would praise him with chocolates.
They were a very few of the best days of his life.
Yes, that's what he'd do. Make a flower crown for the queen of this castle.
He gets back to the kitchen when someone calls him for breakfast.
He meets Juliene and Grant there.
The man looks quite intimidating to the smaller boy, but has kind eyes, which put him at ease.
"Hey, we haven't met properly. I'm Juliene, the Beta." The red headed girl, who resembles so much like someone he knows, but couldn't quite put his finger on who. "Also, I'm your mate's twin. But- don't judge me for her shitty attitude." She winks.
With realization, Florian couldn't help but smile at the girl.
"I'm Florian. It's great to meet you. I didn't know Alpha had a sister."
Juliene frowns. "She didn't tell you about me? That bitch- and wait! You call her Alpha?! That's unacceptable! You're her mate for Goddess' sake. Did she ask you to call her that? Geez, I'm gonna knock some sense into her!"
Florian feels his shoulders shake as laughter sputters out of him.
This woman, she's so funny and sweet to him, it actually makes him laugh louder than he'd in a while.
Seeing him laugh like this, Juliene's face softens and she also joins in.
"W-why are you laughing?" She wheezes out between her own fits.
Florian puts a hand over his stomach, still laughing lightly.
"Y-your face. It's r-red, like your hair."
And they laugh some more, while Grant nonchalantly sips from his morning black coffee.
"Sh-shut up." Juliene giggles.
They finally stop and Juliene introduces her mate to her future brother-in-law. They shake hands and Florian smiles politely, still a bit afraid of his built and height.
"Relax, bro-in-law. He only looks like he'd kill, is actually a cinnamon roll." She whispers the last part to his ear and winks.
Grant coughs a little and she leans sweetly over to him, kissing his cheek.
Florian feels his own cheeks heat from their show of affection, but doesn't say anything.
His mind wanders off to ideas, if he and Feather would ever be like this. Especially now that he'd made her feel like shit.
He sighs, a little louder than intended. Which does get attention of the Beta.
"Hey," she squeezes his shoulder with a sad smile. "Feather might be stiff and tense, but she's got a soft heart. She went through a lot to be where she's now. Just give her some time, I'm sure you two will be snogging in front of us in no time."
If possible, Florian turns as red as a tomato.
"S-stop." He stutters, still blushing profusely. "But thanks."
Juliene blinks at him with a smile. They eat breakfast together and Juliene and Grant go separate ways for their designated works while Florian begins with his plan to win his Alpha back.

Feather has literally drowned herself in her work. Not wanting to let her mind be free for even a second, otherwise it'd go straight into thinking about a certain Omega.
She hasn't even went to their room the previous night. She couldn't muster up the courage.
Now, she has dark bags under her eyes and loads of work on her shoulders.
Meanwhile, everyone keeps asking what should be prepared, what should be put to where, what stuff would be needed.
She's exhausted and her stomach's growling since morning. The girl couldn't even eat, still feeling like a failure who made her own mate run away from her.
But she needs to suck it up and prepare herself before the meeting would take place tonight.
Amidst the chaos from yesterday, Feather didn't have the chance to even greet and meet the guests properly. She doesn't want them to feel uninvited or unwelcomed.
Despite her heart not wanting to face the curly haired boy, Feather gets out of her office and makes her way to their room.
The hallways and rooms look really pretty with all the decorations for their important guests.
When she finally reaches their room, she smells something else other than the usual and Florian's.
Sweet and delicious smell of food and flowers envades her nostrills as she pushes the door open.
A gasp leaves her lips at the sight of the decorated room.
Nothing much or too luxurious, simple, but could be told that someone did it with so much love and care.
A few candles lit up on the dresser and bedside tables, and some on top of the head board. A tray full of delicious looking food sits on the coffee table near the windows, which has fairy lights hanging in a wavy shape.
The room looks really beautiful and Feather doesn't have any doubt on who had done this.
"Hey."
