I, Lilith Lakeland, am the definition of a home body. I have little to no tolerance for the ignorance of people these days. Going to the grocery store twice a month literally enrages me. Everyone walks around entitled with a stick up their ass, it's exhausting. Hence why I'd rather stay in my little bubble. No one to bother me and I can enjoy my own company. At 24 I've never been in a relationship, never done the casual dating thing, nothing. Im as inexperienced as it gets but I'm okay with it, I've never really been interested in all of it. Like I said, I don't have the tolerance for people. Anywho, that all brings me back to one point I'm currently trying to make to the only two people I tolerate.
"You can't live as a shut in, Lil." Maya said, rolling her eyes. "You're being dramatic. I go to work, I run errands, I leave the house plenty. Too much if you ask me." Spencer chuckled. "You haven't actually socialized with other humans since you were in school." She said crossing her arms. "And work doesn't count." She added. "What's the big deal Maya?" I sighed. "I just feel like since Spence and I got together we don't see you as often and we are literally the only people you speak to." Spencer's laughed again, standing up from my couch to walked over to us. "Look Lil, you know she won't drop it until you agree. It's just one little party." He said, giving his signature charming smile. I sighed again. "Fine. Don't expect any different behavior though." I grumbled and Maya cheered. "Alright, we'll wait for you to get dressed."
As I was standing in front of the mirror I couldn't help but laugh at the fact I'd look like I fit right in. My wardrobe had always been 90% black and tonight was no exception with a black cropped sweater, black jeans and black boots. I'd only been around Spencer's friend group once or twice by complete coincidence. They're all bikers but as Spence says they're "not a biker gang" even though...that's quite literally what they are. But it's not my place to say that and it's honestly none of my business. Spencer is a good guy with a dark side but that dark side is never misdirected. I respect the hell out of him and I understand where he comes from in most situations, which is why I get along with him. His friends have seemed nice enough anytime I've been around them.

We pulled up at the house and I started to mentally preparing myself for people. "Come on, try not to look so miserable." Maya pleaded. I laughed. "I told you I would come, not that I'd enjoy it." She grumbled something to Spencer and he chuckled, throwing an arm over both of our shoulders. "Come on now ladies. Free booze and a good time await us. Lil I've seen you party with the best of them, don't act completely innocent." I rolled my eyes. "That was years ago, Spence." "Still." He shrugged as we entered the door. You could hear the music from out back, and see the guys through the large glass doors. Spence walked into the kitchen and poured us all a drink. "This is a nice house." I said simply, glancing around. "Yeah, Ry isn't really home much, we usually hang here." "Isn't Orion the like president of your 'club'? I don't think I've ever met him." Maya asked, putting air quotes and Spence chuckled. "You could say that. He's supposed to be coming home tonight though, so we're throwing him a welcome home party. He's been gone almost 3 month now." I listened but didn't add anything to the conversation. Spence handed Maya a glass of red wine and me a glass of whiskey. I cracked a smile at him.
Spence had introduced me to everyone and I eventually found my little corner where I could sit and observe but no one bothered me. There were probably 30-35 people here, everyone seemed to get along well. On the surface at least. Some of the women here with the boys had tension, and seemed to be trying to one up each other. It was subtle and no one else probably noticed but I did. I was just glad none of them seemed to have any issues it's Maya. I finished my drink off and got up to walk back inside. No one was in there as I poured another glass of the expensive whiskey.
I got curious and started walking towards the living room. Whoever this guy was he had expensive taste. It was subtle flexes, so if you didn't know much about alcohol or art you'd probably have no idea just how much money was sitting between these two rooms. I turned back around, my curiosity fed and headed towards the back doors. "See something that's peaked your interest?" I heard causing me to stop just short of the door. I turned around to see a tall man with brown hair, a black shirt, black pants, arms covered in tattoos, and piercing green eyes. "Just looking around." I replied back simply, taking a sip of my drink. "I see the boys have gotten into the good stuff." He laughed to himself as he walked fully into the kitchen, pouring himself a drink. "I'm Orion by the way." He said, walking closer to me. "Man of the hour so I've heard." I opened the door and walked back out, over to my little corner.
A few seconds later I observed Orion walking out of the house, with a more intense demeanor than just mere seconds ago. "Ry! You're back!" A girls voice called. Everyone's attention fell on him, everyone gravitating towards him. "Nice to see you back, man." Spence said, giving him one of those 'bro hugs'. The same annoying girls voice rang out as she pushed Spencer to the side. "Ry, baby, I missed you so much." She threw her arms around him and he shrugged her off, nodding to her. Meanwhile, the guy she had been hanging onto the whole night simply shook his head at her. Spencer introduced Maya to him. "This is my girl Maya. And our friend Lily." He said pointing over at me. I gave a slight, tight-lipped smile and Orion raised his glass towards me.
It was now 2am and I hadn't moved from my spot despite Mayas multiple attempts. A lot of the guys were drunk, currently stumbling around the yard building a makeshift kind of 'rope course' in between 3 massive trees in the backyard. Spence and Maya were among those people, going between arguing and falling on their asses. It was actually quite amusing. I looked away and happened to lock eyes with Orion, who was standing by the fire, adding more wood. After greetings and all he seemed quite reserved, standing with everyone but not interacting much. Despite the two girls all but throwing themselves at him. I was lost in though so much so I didn't realize he had walked over to the table I was at and pulled out the chair next to me.
"You intimidate them." He said, looking over at everyone by the trees. "Me? I intimidate who?" I laughed. "All of them. The boys have been talking about how hot you are but you haven't stopped glaring at everyone since you've been here. And of course the ladies aren't too happy about that." I rolled my eyes, finishing off my glass again. "I haven't been glaring at anyone. Ive done nothing but mind my own business." He hummed. "Maybe you don't notice your resting bitch face then." "Wow, charming, aren't you?" I said sarcastically. "Just honest." "As much as I appreciate honesty, why don't you go be honest somewhere else." I rolled my eyes. "Bitchy. I like that. Unfortunately for you, my love, this is my house so I think ill stay right here." I looked at him and he smirked. "No worries, I'd rather be home anyways." I said, standing. He raised his eyebrows but still sat with a smug look on his face.
I walked towards Spence and Maya, hoping to get her keys from her. "Maya, can I have your keys?" I asked. She turned to face me and threw her arms around me. "Lill, Im sorry. They fell out of my pocket long ago." She slurred. I sighed. I wasn't planning on crawling around in the dirt to find them out here. "Okay, I'm gonna leave, Ill see you guys later." I peeled her off me and she was too wasted to protest. I walked back towards the house and walked right in, ignoring the set of eyes I could feel tracking me. I pulled out my phone as I approached the front door. I'd never used Uber or anything like that but I was most definitely not crashing here or asking someone to take me home. I sat on the front stairs, waiting for the app to download, which it seemed like there wasn't much cell service here.
"I don't typically scare women away that quickly. Usually its after they find out I've got a knife kink. And even then they almost always come back." I heard as the front door opened and closed. I suppressed a laugh. "Trust me, I am in no way shape or form scared off by you. I've overstayed my welcome by a mile." I starred down at my phone, waiting for it to at least say its waiting to download. I saw his boots standing in front of me and finally looked up at him. "Overstayed your welcome? I dont recall saying anything of the sort." I leaned back against the stairs and crossed my arms. "I don't think many people feel very welcomed after being called a bitch." He chuckled and it was a pleasant sound to hear. "Bitchy. I called you bitchy. And I said I was into it so I don't see the problem." "Is there a reason you followed me out here?" I asked, cocking my head to the side. He smirked, walking closer. "I thought I was making it obvious, no?" I raised my eyebrows as he leaned down, closer to me. His hands rested on the step behind me and his face was inches from mine. "Maybe I can't take a hint." I challenged, immediately shocking myself with my level of boldness. He licked his lips, a ghost of a smile gracing them. "I'm interested in you staying the night with me." He said simply, one of his hands leaving the cold concrete to run along the side of my thigh. Thank god that front door opened. "Lil, we found the keys- woah, am I interrupting something?" Orion made no attempt to move from his current position. I smirked. "I'm uninterested." I said softly, my lips millimeters from his. I pulled back and stood up to face Spencer. "Not interrupting anything. Thanks Spence." He eyed me suspiciously, knowing me better than that but I gave him a smirk. "Don't play with fire, Lilith." Spencer warned quietly. I just gave him a smile, turning away and walking to the car straight past Orion.
