I stepped out of the shower, drying off my body and wrapping a towel around my hair. Carter had left a pair of briefs and a crew neck. I slid both of them on, inhaling Orions scent. I unwrapped my hair before stepping out of the bathroom.
True to his word, Carter was sitting on the small couch and Orion was sitting in the chair. I looked between the two as their eyes snapped to me. Both men rose to their feet as I walked in, meeting in the middle of the room. Orion smiled down at me. "Everyone is waiting in the conference room. We didn't want to talk about things without you. For now Cathleen's body is taken care of." Orion said softly and I nodded. I must have been in the shower for longer than I thought.
We all walked silently towards the meeting room, me in the center of the two. I felt like I had two scary dogs protecting me from the world and I couldn't help but smile to myself. Carter opened a door for me and everyone was inside, waiting. Spencer had also cleaned up, now in a new set of clothes. All eyes were on me as I walked in and sat in one of the chairs.
It was silent for a while and I had a feeling everyone was waiting for me to start. I sighed, pulling my feet up into the chair. "I can't say I'm not a little offended the both of you left." I said to Warren and Reign playfully. The tension in the room disappeared as the words left my mouth. A chuckle escaped Reign as he shook his head. "I think we got the point. And we are proud of you." Warren said and I grinned.
"While I know there are going to be objections, I'd really like to send her head to him." I mumbled. Orion gave me a look. "That's too risky, my love. No one would be able to get in and out of there without anyone noticing. They're too fucking paranoid." He said and I smirked, looking to Warren. He caught my stare and narrowed his eyes. "We're retired." He grunted. "Then why are you here?" I shot back.
Reign and Warren looked at each other, having a mental conversation before Warren rolled his eyes and Reign nodded silently. "You know we're always in your corner. We'll make it work if that's the course you really want to go." Reign agreed and I smirked, a giggle escaping me. "Damn, everyone has been so agreeable today. I feel like a little princess." Maya laughed lightly. "Only because everyone here knows how important this is for you." She said. I nodded. "And I am extremely grateful and thankful to have people in my corner. But remember please, no one has to be here. My mess is my mess, no one else's. You can tell me to fuck off and deal with it on my own and you know I'd never hold it against you for even a second." She laughed, her eyes soft as she held eye contact with me. "Believe me, Lil, I know that. That's why so many people are willing to go to bat for you. After all the shit you've been through, you'd still put everyone here before yourself." "It's about time you let other people carry some of the load. No ones going anywhere, even if you want to do some crazy shit that gets us all killed." Spencer said and my heart clenched. I nodded softly.
"Well then." I started, looking around. "If everyone's going to agree to my psycho shit we should talk plan. Because once they see that there's no going back." I said. Everyone nodded. "I know you don't care to have him as an ally anymore. But you don't necessarily need to make an enemy out of him either." Warren said towards the boys. Orion raised his eyebrows. "I hardly fucking think anything less will be on the table." Orion sighed. Reign rolled his eyes. "I rarely ever agree with the grumpy bastard, but he's right. You boys need to get your heads on straight now, you had your fun in there." Reign scolded and I stifled a laugh. There's a reason why they were the best in the business.
"Okay, we're listening." Carter said, leaning into the table more. "Matt Wolfy has no clue who exactly Lilith is. Based on the messages, Cathleen really had no information on you besides the absolute bare bones. There's no connection to the club, us or any reason to believe Lilith is anything other than a normal clueless 20 something girl." Reign said. "But, he does know that word is out about Cathleen being on her own. He knows it's a risk and there are other clubs who want to get their hands on her. It really wouldn't be all that hard to turn it on one of them....perhaps Cadence and the Doomers?" Warren smirked menacingly.
Orion and Carter looked at each other. Carter tilted his head. "You know Drake Wolfy beat the shit out of Cadence a few months back after that whole bar debacle. It really wouldn't be all that far fetched that Cadence was being his usual hot-headed self." Carter reasoned. Orion thought on it, leaning back in the chair as he gripped my thigh, rubbing soft circles with his thumb.
He looked back up after a few minutes, to Warren and Reign. "And you're sure you can make it look like it was Cadence?" He asked them. They both grimaced at him, clearly insulted. It seems Orion didn't know just how good they are. "They can do it." Carter said. Carter was leader when Reign and Warren were in their prime, he know just exactly how careful and meticulous they can be. Orion nodded, looking to me for a second. "Let me know what you need from me and we'll go from there. Spencer and I took care of the...rest of her body." Warren nodded, standing. "I just need the head." The look in his eyes had switched...he was in business mode. "Alright." Orion said standing up. He kissed my head before leading Warren out. Reign stood after them and made his way to me. "I'm so proud of you, Lilith. You turned out to be an amazing kid. You know we've always got your back, no matter what." He whispered, kissing my head. "Thank you, I love you guys." I smiled at him and he nodded, leaving the room.
Neither of those old men were too keen on emotions, I've known that since day one. The first time I had told them I loved them they awkwardly looked at each other before nodded and leaving. But now, I know that even though they won't say it, they love me like the daughter they never had. They've taken care of me so much and I'll never be able to repay them for everything they've done for me.
~~
We were now back at my house, everyone besides Reign and Warren who were taking care of everything. I told them they should rest and do it tomorrow but I was just scolded like a child.
"I love you, Lily. So much." Maya said, wrapping her arms around me tightly. I hugged her back just as tight. "Thank you for being here." I mumbled and she smiled at me. "Always." She let go of me and Spence smiled down at me. "You'll never cease to amaze me, Lil." He kissed my forehead, hugging me tightly. "Ride or die." I smirked and he chuckled, nodding. "Til death, baby." He agreed. I smiled widely. They are my everything. They walked out the front door, closing it behind them.
And now I was alone with Orion and Carter. I turned towards the fridge, opening it. I started grabbing out ingredients to cook something. "What are you doing?" Orion chuckled softly. I looked at him over my shoulder. "Well, no one's eaten. You guys need to eat." I mumbled, focusing on what I was doing. Orions hands grabbed mine, forcing me to look at him. "You are the one who needs to eat, we didn't do much tonight. Let me do it, my love." He said softly. When he saw the look on my face he gave me a look and I sighed, nodding. "Take a few moments to relax, you deserve it. You are here, safe, with us." He said gently and kissed me softly. I sat at the counter, next to Carter.
All of us fell into a comfortable silence as Orion began making the creamy garlic chicken I had grabbed the stuff for. I glanced at Carter who was already looking at me. I couldn't decipher what he was thinking. But I knew something had shifted tonight, I'm just not sure what. He looked away from me. I sighed. "Are we going to talk about tonight?" I asked, crossing my arms. Both of them stiffened. Orion stopped what he was doing and turned around. They looked at each other before looking to me. "What specifically?" Orion asked and I rolled my eyes. "You both know what." They hesitated. They looked at each other again and Orion sighed, leaning on the counter. "I don't know what to say." He answered honestly. Carter nodded. "Me either, to be honest."
I groaned, frustrated. "The two of you want to tip toe around it, fine. But you need to figure it out. Clearly something changed. But I don't have the energy to argue about it tonight."I stood up, walking towards my room. But I paused, turning on my heels. "I will say, it does feel nice knowing I caught the attention of not just one but both of the Wakely boys. I'm going to change." I said, smirking as I walked into my room.
~~
After we all ate I put the dishes in the dishwasher before turning towards Orion and Carter who were talking in the living room. I walked in and they stopped, turning towards me. "I should go back to Rys house for the night." Carter said to me softly. "I'd prefer if you stayed in the guest room for the night. It's late and everyone's had a long day." I said, stepping closer to him. I saw his breathing shift and he swallowed, looking down at me intensely. "Much like my brother, I have a tendency to become obsessive, Lilypad. Do not play into this, it'll only end up bad for all of us." Carter warned. I raised my eyebrows, glancing at Orion. His eyes met mine, dark and stormy, but not angry. Something definitely changed.
I looked back to Carter, laughing lightly. "I think I can handle a little bad thrown my way. For now, the guest room is ready. Spencer leaves extra clothes in there. Goodnight Carter." I leaned up, kissing his cheek before turning and walking into my room. "She's going to be both of our downfalls." I heard Orion mumble and I couldn't help the smirk in my face.
~~
As I was going pee, the door opened and Orion walked in. I raised my eyebrows at him. He turned the shower on and adjusted the temperature as I finished and flushed the toilet. "You know...Carter and I have been in competition about something ever since I could remember. When I was younger I used to be jealous of him, not that I'd ever admit it out loud to anyone else. I thought this job, this life, was everything I wanted." Orion said, turning towards me as I washed my hands. I dried them, turning around to face him. He grabbed my waist, pulling me into his chest. "After tonight...I don't think I could ever put anyone or anything before you. You are everything I've ever wanted, everything I didn't know I wanted." He said softly, his thumb stroking across my cheekbone. He smiled softly down at me. "You're right. Something changed tonight. My brother and I both learned there's now only one thing in this world we'd die doing anything to protect. You're just like us, fucked in a way no one else can understand. As much as I am possessive, I can tell you've taken a liking to Carter, and he has damn sure made it clear you are also his soft spot and I knew that from the moment I saw you two at the bar. For now, I won't fight about you having someone else in your corner who will give the world for you. But just know, my grace doesn't extend any further than the three men at that office tonight." He growled out the last bit and I couldn't help but laugh softly.
"Spencer is my twin flame. We are two half's of the same soul that found their way back to each other. But what Spencer and I have isn't anywhere near the same. He sees me for me and he embraces that, but we'd never cross that line. Sure, he likes to watch, hell, so does Maya. But, It's different. You are...god I don't even know how to put into words what this is. I was sure you'd leave tonight, I had prepared my self for it." He shook his head. "I meant it when I said I will always drag you back to me, whether you want it or not. We are linked for life. I don't know if I believe in all that twin flame shit but if I did, I'd say the universe made us for each other." I smiled softly at him. "And what I have with Carter is...different too. He feels safe to me, like someone I've known my whole life and he has since I met him. That line didn't completely blur for me until tonight, now it just feels like more. It doesn't help that the two of you are so much alike, though you also couldn't be more different if you tried. And whatever gene pool the two of you came from is fucking spectacular, I mean who could blame me for wanting a little taste of both?" I looked at him innocently and he couldn't help but laugh.
"Carter and I have our fair share of problems but I know just from the look in his eyes he'd go to the depths of hell for you just like I would, and I've never seen that in him before. I'd do anything to keep you safe and by my side, even if that means allowing room for him." He cupped my cheeks, kissing me softly. I smiled into the kiss, resting my hands on his stomach. "A lot has happened today, my love. I'm going to shower before coming to bed, yeah?" He asked softly and I nodded, kissing him again.
~~
When I walked into the kitchen to grab a drink I saw Carter standing in front of the fridge, grabbing something out of it. The lights weren't on but the kitchen was lightly illuminated by the strip lights under the cabinets. His hair was damp and he now had on a pair of sweat pants. He looked up as I walked in and gave me a soft smile. I walked over, grabbing the pitcher of tea. "I figured you'd be knocked out after the day you've had." He said quietly. I shrugged. "It's still all sinking in." I said, looking up at him as I grabbed a glass. He nodded, looking down at me. We'd been this close before and I'd hardly thought twice about it...but now, it feels like a world of tension is between us.
His eyes met mine, before flickering down briefly. I couldn't help the blush that formed on my cheeks. A small smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth as he took a step closer. "You can't look at me like that, Lily." He spoke lowly, his fists clenching at his side. Despite the shift between us I know Carter wouldn't make the first move. Unlike Orion, he has a lot more self control.
I closed the small gap between us when I took a step closer to him, my chest now lightly brushing against him. His took a deep breath, eyes locked on mine. I reached down, grabbing his hands that were still clenched in a fist, and laced our fingers together. He rested his forehead on mine, his eyes fluttering closed as he let his hands relax in mine. "I respect you, Lil, so much. But if you push this boundary, there's no going back. I need you to think this through-" I cut him off, kissing him. His whole body stiffened and his hands tightened around mine. It only took a second for that switch to flip and his lips moved against mine. It was so different from Orions, it was needy in a way I hadn't experienced, but still gentle.
Carters hands untangled from mine as he pushed me backwards. He lifted me off the ground, sitting me on the countertop. He stepped between my thighs, pulling me flush against his chest. I rested my hands on his hips, near where the sweatpants hung lowly. He pulled away, breathing heavily as he looked down at me. His previously gentle look now replaced with one similar to Orions, one of lust and possession. " You're sure about this?" He asked in a low voice, one of warning, giving me one last out. I laughed softly. "I know what I want, Carter."
I pulled him to me again, kissing him slowly. His hands hesitated to touch me but eventually he gave in and he gently grabbed my thighs, separating them further to pull me closer. His lips moved from mine down my jaw and neck, leaving a trail of soft kisses in his wake. I let out a soft moan, tilting my head back. His fingertips gripped my thighs a little harsher. His cock was pressing into me as I held him close, and he was definitely hard.
After a few steamy minutes he pulled away and starred down at me. "Tomorrow we'll talk... well, later today. Until then, I'll control myself." He breathed out and I couldn't help but giggle. "Okay." I agreed, giving him a soft smile. He gave my thighs a squeeze before stepping away. I got off the counter and put the pitcher of tea back in the fridge. Carter grabbed his drink before turning towards the other room. "Goodnight, Lilypad." He said as he reached the hallway. "Night, Carter." He grinned at me before going to bed.
I went back into the bedroom and Orion was just walking out of the bathroom with a towel around his hips. He smiled as me as I walked in and I let out a breath. These two men have made me into something I'd never thought I'd become and I haven't decided if it terrifies me more or excites me more.
