"I told you, I DON'T WANNA TALK!" Chance raised her voice to the two detectives that had been trying to question her for the past thirty minutes

All they were able to get was her relationship with Amiri, besides that she told them that she didn't want to talk to them

"You'll lower your voice." Anderson, the male detective said, standing in the corner of the interrogation room

Chance couldn't help but to roll her eyes, she had her hands rested on her thighs, bouncing her right leg up and down

Ramos, the female cop that sat across from her looked at Chance and shook her head

Little did they know, Chance's father, Angelo was coming into the police station to get shit straightened immediately

Snatching his tie off his shirt, he walked in. "Where the fuck is my daughter!?" He raised his voice loudly, catching everyone's attention

They all knew him and some were scared of him for whatever reason. "Sir, please. Quiet down in here." The front desk clerk said

Angelo knew he wasn't above the law, but it damn sure felt like it

All hell broke loose behind his daughter, Chance was scared of killing spiders, let alone a whole person

So in short, Angelo was beyond heated. He spoke with the head detective in charge of Amiri's case

"You know that my daughter didn't fuckin' shoot him." He squinted his eyes at Detective Evans

"Detective Love, who knew that was your daughter like really?" Evans shook his head, standing up from his desk

"I don't give a fuck, y'all got no evidence. My daughter was in fucking Atlanta working and not running around on that pole like yo' niece, get her up outta here now." He demanded

Evans pointed in Angelo's face, trying to stop himself from speaking. "You know what, fuck you!" Evans pushed Angelo out the way, walking out of the office

Evans stormed off and went walking to the interrogation room that Chance was in. The door swung open and he motioned for the two police officers to come

They walked out and followed him to another room to all talk. "Let her go." He said, running his hands down his face from stress

"What? We have our suspect right here in our hands and you telling us to let her go." Ramos said in confusion

"That's just giving it away, she could leave the fucking country and that boy gets no justice!" Anderson fussed

"We have little no evidence, that's fucking LV's daughter we have in there." He banged on the table after every word, using Angelo's nickname in work

"Let her go, I'm done talking." He fixed the collar of his shirt before walking out of the room

Anderson and Ramos just looked at each other before both shaking their heads. They each walked out and into the interrogation room where Chance sat

She was so nervous and all the possibilities were running through her head. She could go to prison or worse if Amiri was to die, also she wondered if Amiri would believe this or not

The feeling of being in prison made her so sick, prison didn't have hookah and Casamigos

That thought made her laugh, but then she got serious. Her life would take a huge turn, she wasn't even sure she would be able to get any modeling gigs after prison. Who would want to marry a convicted felon

"It's your lucky day, daddy's girl." Anderson faked a laugh, taking Chance's arms and taking her out of the handcuffs

He was insinuating that her dad got her out of this which she caught onto and let out a sigh of relief

"Hoe ass nigga." She muttered, being let out of the room

They walked her up to the front where she spotted her dad and immediately ran up to him

Angelo embraced his daughter with a big hug, but was ready to go. She had no belongings since to get, so they went through the metal detectors and were able to lesve

The walk to the car was silent, Chance was so happy to be out, but Angelo was mad she was ever in

They got into his black 2023 Cadillac Escalade that had a dark, but legal tint

"What they say to you?" He asked, speeding out of the parking lot

"Daddy, it was so many questions. Questions about where I was at the time, how did I find out, why did I go up to the hospital."

"It was so dumb." She fussed, throwing her hands down

"They're gonna search your apartment I already know and your car, so you need to clear out anything that could trace you back to that shit."

"But I didn't do it." She said

"I was in Atlanta, then when I came back I was at my boyfriend's house when Serayah texted me and told me." She further explained

"Chance, you think I don't know that. This whole fuckin' thing might just be about me or they really think you did or, regardless you don't wanna give them shit to pull you in for." He shook his head

"I'm going to help you."

"Dad, thank you." She said out of appreciation for him and everything he did for her

"You don't gotta thank you, you don't deserve your life stripped away from you." He said, fixing his gold chain that held his son's ashes

Chance and Sori didn't know about their older brother, and probably never would

Although, there were pictures up of his son in Chance's grandmother house they never really questioned it since there were a lot of pictures up of people they didn't and their dad made sure that no one spoke on the death

After the death of his nineteen year old son, Kaiser, he never spoke on him

Even at the funeral, he sat up front silently and at the burial. He only went to visit Kaiser on his birthdays

There had only been once that he spoke about Kaiser which was to his wife, Adina and that was the one time she had ever seen him cry

She comforted him and didn't make him feel any less of a man, DeAngelo knew he could trust her and had fell even more in love with her

"Yeah." She mumbled

His main mission was always to protect his children, he felt like he couldn't fuck up like he did his first time around

Deep down inside he felt like he failed his son and couldn't let it happen with his girls

That was one of the reasons why he always went to bat when his family spoke on Chance, he wanted successful and alive children and Chance was exactly

Graduated with a high GPA, successful with her own everything, and was healthy

"Is there anything you wanna talk to me about?" He asked, looking over at her

"No... I just wanna say thank you." She thanked him once more

"Don't say it again." He shook his head

"I won't." She let out a chuckle

First off, they stopped for food and got some barbecue from his friend, then headed to her apartment

"Bae, you gotta blow they house up." Meadow said as Chance brung all of his gifts to her bed

They were at her house and finally Meadow could open his gifts, Chance had also just finished explaining what happened

"I want to, but then I'll really be in jail. That was very dumb though, why would I shoot my own friend?" She shook her head at the ignorance

"Maybe he ain't close that back door." He joked, but she didn't find it funny

"I will return every single one of these gifts, I wouldn't back door anyone." She rolled her eyes at him

"Bro, fuck these gifts. You barely even told me happy birthday." He sucked his teeth

"Boy, I don't give a fuck. I spent how much on a ticket that didn't get used? I could've had you flying Spirit, BUT I didn't." She bucked at him with a mug on her face

"You think cuz you was in police custody for two hours ready to snitch that you a hard body now?" He snatched her up by the arm

They looked each other in the eyes and Chance was about to say something, but he kissed her

"Now we gonna open the gifts or you gonna keep acting like you been in prison all yo' life?" He asked

"We gonna open the gifts." She answered while rolling her eyes and he let her go

"Open this one." She handed him the wrapped box that held a bottle of Creed

He opened and looked at her lowkey stuck. "I know you ain't get me no Creed." He said

She didn't know if he liked or disliked it until he pulled her by the chin, kissing her over and over and over

"This shit smell good." He said and kissed her on the cheek

"It does, that's why I bought it." She nodded in agreement

"Where the hell you even get this?"

"Oh, I bought it online. I couldn't find it in stores." She laughed it off

"Open the rest, there's more."

"Nigga, I got eyes." He playfully bucked at her, making her roll her eyes

"A birthday week don't mean you can't get fucked up." She laughed, hitting his shoulder

"You said I'm finna get fucked?" He cuffed his ear, pretending he didn't hear her correctly as he grabbed a bigger, rectangular box

"That too." She said slickly under her breath

One of her cousins, John, was texting her and asking about a photography thing, so she put her phone on DND

Meadow opened the gift box and looked at her. "I'm finna be playin' this mo' then my PS5." He said, looking back at the PlayStation 5 portal remote

"Why?" She asked, being more excited about the gifts than he was ironically

"Because I hate sitting in front of the TV like that, preciate chu." He kissed her cheek

He was bad at telling people thank you, and in that moment he felt like he looked awkward to her saying it

He put the game system to the side to open the next box which held a pair of navy blue Louis Vuttion slides

There was a confused look on his face. "How the hell you know what shoe size I wear?"

"That's really what you worried about right now?" She waved him off, looking at the slides

"Hell yes, it's weird as hell to be looking in people shoes." He nodded with a lot of confidence in his tone

"Are you appreciative or more worried about me looking in your shoes because I don't do that." She said, truthfully

Chance had once seen him on goat, looking at his orders and all of them either said 12 or 13

Meadow usually had to pay a lot more money on his shoes than the average person because of his huge feet

"Big feet ass." She mumbled

"Man, fuck you. You know what else big." He joked, putting the slides and the box next to him

"I don't." She lied

"Ima let you have that." He said since he wanted to finish opening his gifts before tossing her around like a Caesar salad

"Tell me what the fuck happened." Serayah said immediately to Chance when they made it on Chance's couch

"Bro, I don't know. I just opened the door, they asked to speak, but when they stepped in I was detained and told to shut the fuck up." Chance shook her head

"Did they even read your rights? How the hell would you shoot him?"

"I'm as confused as you, when I was in the interrogation room it all didn't make sense to me. I just kept telling them that I didn't wanna talk over and over, but they kept talking to me." She said, the memory coming back

"Your dad came and got you of course, they scared of him." Serayah boasted

"He a big teddy bear though, we was about to cry in the car." She shook her head, thinking back to their talk in the car

"Do your mom know?"

"More than likely, but she ain't texted me to ask about it at all." She shrugged

"My phone been on DND, I was with Meadow."

"You seem like you in better mood than somebody who just got accused of attempted murder, so he obviously made you feel better." Serayah pointed out, making Chance smile

"He was just like smiling the whole time, how can you be in bad mood after watching your man who always got a mad face finally smile."

"Don't start that lover girl shit." Serayah joked

"I'm not even starting, I'm just saying."

"After he opened the gifts we had got food, but he had something to handle." She strongly sighed with a shrug

"I cannot believe that my sister used to strip at his club, that's crazy." Serayah said in disbelief

"Yeah." Chance slowly nodded, biting the side of her lips

"Do you think Amiri will believe them when he wakes?" She asked

"To be honest, I don't even know. I mean why would it be you... but that situation at his house did happen and he was downright wrong for that, so you might wanted to get your get back."

Chance looked at her like she was the dumbest person in the world. "Do you hear yourself right now?" She rolled her eyes

"Bitch, I'm just tryna connect the dots. Don't shoot me next." Serayah joked, throwing her hands up in defense

A mug went across Chance's face and she stood up, going into her room and shutting the door

Chance didn't do it, but she didn't know if her best friend really thought she did and it was fucking with her
