"She already got charged for her friend's attempted murder?" Yesemia, Meadow's step mother, spoke to Meadow in attempt to get an understanding of what he was saying

"She ain't do that shit though." He huffed, shaking his head

Chance had been charged for Amiri's attempted murder, they all knew she didn't do it

It wasn't about Chance, it was about her father and how powerful he was

They wanted to take out the big fish.

"So who did?" She furrowed her eyebrows, assuming that he knew since he knew she didn't

"Not her." He shrugged

Truly, Meadow had nothing to do with Amiri getting shot since someone beat him to the punch

"I paid ha bond though." He said

He opted to pay her bond since he was the first she called, and that was his lady. She was also boohoo crying when she called which made him naturally frantic

At the moment, she was in the process of being released. Her bond was placed at $55,600 and he paid all of it

"She was crying and shit, wanted to go shoot her homeboy my damn self."

"Keep your head in the game." She pointed at him with a squinted eye

Meadow sighed, leaning back in the seat. He wasn't really stunting her

"I know."

"So you know what you gotta do now?" She questioned

Her and his father taught him all he knew about how to shoot, and a lot of other things. Their biggest thing was that one that played with their family had to die

"Been knew what I gotta do." He waved her off, looking around to his surroundings

There weren't many people, people at this correctional center barely got visitors since it was the prison that people got sent to from different states

"Chance ain't even built for killing nobody, she don't even like getting in fights."

Yesemia had a look on her face that showed she didn't care, so he raised his eyebrows and looked away

"When you get transferred?" He asked since she was supposed to be getting moved to a prison that was only thirty minutes away

"I don't know, and I don't give a fuck when I leave. With the amount of years I got, I don't care where I'm at." She huffed

"You ain't finna die in prison assum shit, so where you at do matter." He refrained from mugging her

"Nigga, I don't give a fuck, damn."

"Man, shut up." He scrunched his face up

Meadow was ready to leave because she was being a lot more irritable today

No bitch behind bars was about to get on his nerves, and he had to go pick up Chance anyway

"Bye, bitch." He stood up from his chair and she watched his walk away

"Come on, Yessica." The guard pulled Yesemia up and began to handcuff her

"That ain't my name, bitch ass nigga." She tugged away from her, although it was useless since she was already in the cuffs

Meadow went through the metal detector, and got his phone back, then left the prison

He hopped inside of Rolls Royce only to head to another correctional facility to pick up his lady

All this was twisted to him, it made no sense why Chance would be their lead in an attempted murder

If anything Chance would be the one giving anonymous tips, she didn't play none of that

While she didn't have a permit or license, she wasn't with breaking the law

The only reason she didn't have a permit or license was because she didn't want to take driver's ed or go online, being lazy

He purposely sped to get to her, so she wouldn't have to sit any longer than needed

Once he made it, he sat in the parking lot because he already knew how all of that went

Before, he was on the phone with her and already knew she would be getting that day

"Shit better be quick." He shook his head, turning off his car and crossing his arms impatiently

"Matter fact." He mumbled, then began to pull out

"Her ass can walk home." He said

Of course he was joking, he was just about to go get her some food because he knew jail food was disgusting as fuck

He hated everything about incarceration and had only been to jail once for two days

Meadow was once facing a murder charge that he actually did do, but he made bond and beat the case

The police were about back onto him and it was so long before they took his freedom

He knew he only had a couple more in him before they were back on his trail, so he had to chill and keep his head in the game

Nobody was worth his freedom at all, although his actions showed the exact opposite

His sister called him as he was speeding down the road to get to Popeye's

"Wassup?" He answered, putting the one to his ear

"Hey, juney. What you doing?"

"Nun, you good?" He asked

"I'm fine, I had a dream about you so I had to call you." She informed

He laughed at her. "What the dream was about, lemme know sum."

"You had a little baby girl, you was the best dad ever too." She described the dream the best way she could

"Wit' Chance?" He raised an eyebrow

"Ima assume that because you head over heels for this girl, but I ain't make it to the BM part." She shrugged

"Prolly was her, Ion know." He shrugged as well

"Who the fuck else would it be." He added

"You asking me as if I know, I just know that you was dad of the year and I love that for youuuu."

"Ain't even ask me if I wanted to be a dad or if I even want a girl, you just straight to being happy." He shook his head since she was really only thinking about having a niece

"So you don't want no kids?"

"I do." He admitted, rubbing his chin hairs

His car pulled into Popeyes, the line wasn't long with just a few cars in the drive thru

"Ima call you right back, NiNi." He called her by her childhood nickname

"Bye, Juneyyyyy." She dragged, then he immediately hung up since she sounded too jolly for his liking

Fuck is you happy fa? Everybody gotta die

A huff came from his nose, trying to keep his composure since he had a mood change

Once he got to the window, he offered a spicy chicken sandwich meal and 3pc combo meal

After paying and getting his food, he got extra hot sauce and honey, then pulled off

His phone buzzed in his lap, making him look down to see that Chance was calling

Instead of answering, he declined it since he knew that she only could be calling to say she was ready to go

He put his pedal to the metal and sped back to the prison, pulling up he seen Chance standing out front

She had her clothes in hand, phone, and her jewelry, then started rushing to Meadow's car

"Meadow." She spoke, getting inside of the car

"Hm." He gave her, her food out of the bag

"Thank you so much." She pouted

"It ain't nun. You good, baby?" He leaned over, kissing her check repeatedly

"I don't even know, I just wanna leave this hell hole. I haven't ate in two days."

"Why? They ain't feed you." He frowned up in anger

"It just looked so inedible, I'm not eating that." She said, immediately diving into her food

"I shouldn't have even went through that, I didn't fucking shoot Amiri. Now I have to go to trial and prove it, what the fuck."

"Oh." He nodded, pulling out while biting open a hot sauce packet to go on his food

"You right though, mama."

The car went silent as she ate and he multitasked between eating and driving

The whole car ride to her apartment complex was pure silence, even though he had questions to ask her

They pulled up in her parking garage, then he parked farther back

"Meadow." She spoke

"Wassup? You good?" He asked again

"They had me to do a pee test for drugs and stuff, but they told me something else."

"What?" He eyebrows furrowed in confusion, thinking that she would bring up pregnancy

"I have a STD, what is that about?"
