The drive was silent and tense, not because of anything but where they were headed to, Spade took one quick glance at Nate and he could see the worry in the young man's eyes, he had problems of his own but he wished he could take Nate's own away and see the sweet and warm smile of the young man again.

He gently placed his hand on top of Nate's thighs, giving it a tight squeeze, this drew Nate out of his bubble of worry as he turned to face Spade, he smiled and took Spade's hand, interlocking their fingers together.

He looked down at their hands and it made him smile, Spade's large hands covered his own slender ones, they fit perfectly well with each other, it felt like they should stay that way forever

"Are you good"? Spade asked and Nate sighed before he nodded, chewing on his inner cheek.

He knew he wasn't okay but what was there to do? He was finally seeing his sister after almost a month and he had no idea what he would say to her. Of course he would ask her why she left without telling him.

But then what? He looked at Spade and the man's eyes were on the road again, as he stared at the back of their driver. They arrived at Sydney in less than 3 hours and now were on their way to where his sister was.

He didn't know what he would tell her if she asked about Spade, she was supposed to get married to him and now he was dating the man. He sighed out heavily before Spade turned to look at him. "Come here" he muttered and Nate scooted closer to him, he quickly pulled him flushed against his big frame as he rested his hand on Nate's back, drawing circles and stroking him there. He kissed Nate's hair, his fingers playing with Nate's hair.

He wanted to ask Spade if it would be okay of his sister knew about them, But it wasn't really Spade's choice to make, it was kind of solely his and he didn't know what to do.

Not that he was ashamed of the man but his sister always worried about who he ended up with, she always wanted him to find that special someone. And now that special someone for him was the same man that had wanted to marry his sister a month ago, irony of life.

Soon enough their car stopped in front of the coffee shop, the same one his sister supposedly worked at, it didn't look too flashy and it wasn't run down either.

Spade pulled back and looked at Nate "are you ready"? He asked for the millionth time and Nate just nodded, before he felt Spade's lips pressed on his in a sweet kiss, but it didn't last up to 5 seconds before he pulled away

That seemed to clear Nate's mind of all the doubt that had been swirling there, it eased off the excessive tension that had built up inside of him. Spade opened the car door and stepped out before he put his hand out for Nate, who took it gently and got out.

Spade didn't put on a suit, because according to him, he didn't want to draw attention to them, he didn't know who else might be watching Nate's sister.

He was putting on a grey roundneck, he had a sweater on when they left Manhattan but he took it off in the car, now he just had on his grey roundneck, which did nothing to hide his ripped body and beautiful tattoo around his arm. He had on black slacks, they weren't too tight but they fitted him to the core.

Nate stood close to Spade, almost as if he wanted to enter into the man's body, he felt this nostalgic feeling hit him. Like when his father used to drag him with him to those meetings of his

His hand holding Spade's hand was gripping it tightly, Spade felt the moist in his hand as he looked down at the young man "Relax" he muttered out into Nate's hair before Nate sighed out and nodded.

They got stares from people walking around, some oogled shamelessly at Spade while others just stared and walked past.

They both walked into the coffee shop, Spade having a powerful and dangerous aura around him, even if he didn't put on his signature black suit, people still feared him and paved way for him.

Perfect jaw line and beautiful face, with his awesome and amazing beards, he stepped into the coffee shop, ringing the bell simultaneously with Nate following behind him

They drew the attention of almost everyone in the shop as all eyes turned to look at him, some stared shamelessly, especially the ladies whose mouths were open as they oggled Spade. Nate felt deep seed of jealousy inside him, he tightened his hold on Spade as he hurried his steps, trying to tell the ladies that Spade was obviously taken.

The person at the counter had their backs to both men, but she immediately turned around cheerfully "Good afternoon and...." The smile on her face faded as her eyes landed on them.

Nate froze beside Spade as he saw those familiar green eyes staring right back at him, but they no longer looked like they used to when she was at home, they all stood there for a good minute before everything snapped and she quickly dropped the cup on the table and rushed away from them.

Nate was quick to let go of Spade's hand as he rushed past the counter over to the other side, before she could go through the employee door he grabbed her elbow and turned her around.

She frantically struggled against him, of course she would be like this, Spade was with him. "Su relax" he whispered to her but she did even want to listen

"Let go of me, I'm not going anywhere with him" she spat with venom, her eyes already turning glossy as she looked from Nate to Spade, who just stood there and watched the siblings

"Su, stop fighting" he almost yelled shaking her, that seemed to stop her struggling because she was already attracting the attention of the customers.

"What are you doing here with him"? She asked, her voice shaky as she stared at Nate like he just hit her with a sledgehammer.

He sighed out "I'm not here to take you anywhere" he whispered seeing her whole frenzied look calm down a bit as he looked at him "I just came to talk, I came to see you" he whispered gently.

Her eyes had gone soft as she looked from him and then back to Spade "He brought me here" Nate explained, just then the backroom door opened and a short, ginger haired old man walked out with another young lady, probably younger than Nate and Su.

He looked from Nate to Su suspiciously "what is going on here"? He asked and that's only when Nate let go of his sister and turned to face the man Su looked at him and smiled, obviously a fake smile but it was a smile nonetheless

"Benny, this is my brother Nate, he just came in today" she introduced and Nate stuck out his hand out for the man, he looked at it skeptically before he grabbed Nate's hand in a firm handshake "Nate, this is my boss"

"It's nice to meet you sir" Nate said firmly and the man nodded before he smiled softly at Nate.

"The pleasure is all mine boy" he muttered before his eyes fell on Spade who didn't even bother to introduce himself, he didn't think it was necessary.

"Benny uhm, can Stacy cover my shift for me, I'm almost done, so I can..." The man quickly cut Su off

"It's okay sweetie" the man muttered sweetly before he looked at Nate again, his smile fading as his eyes landed on Spade again, he walked past Su and Nate, the girl following him gave Nate a sweet smile. Su muttered a 'thank you' to her before she passed.

Su quickly took off her apron and draped it on one of the hangers behind the counter before she grabbed Nate's hand and led him to one of the chairs close to the door at the entrance.

Spade followed behind them closely, he could tell they needed space so when they sat, he looked at Nate, feeling Nate's sister's glare on him, which he didn't mind "I'll be in the car waiting okay" he muttered gently and Nate just nodded before he walked out of the coffee shop and went over to the car parked just outside

The silence between Nate and Su stretched as neither said anything Nate kept thinking of how he would word his thoughts and questions to his sister, it wasn't as if he was ecstatic she'd ran away, she practically left him at the mercies of their father

Both opened their mouth to talk at the same time but stopped "You go first" Nate muttered but she just shook her head

"No you go first" she mumbled out, her eyes set on her hands on the table. Nate sighed out, she had changed from how he remembered her, she cut her hair and changed it's color from the red like their mothers to now a black with red highlights.

She probably did all these so their father wouldn't find her, and she looked more radiant and beautiful than when she was still at home. Maybe running away did her good than he thought.

"Why"? He asked, she whipped her head up, her eyes meeting his "why'd you leave without telling me"? He whispered out

She let out a deep breath "I wanted to tell you, I really did but I couldn't risk it" she whispered out "if you had even the slightest idea that I was leaving or where I was leaving to, then he would have found me" she whispered out

"So what? You threw me under the bus and just left? Knowing fully well what he'd do to me because he thought I helped you run away" Nate asked

"I didn't throw you under the bus, I didn't think he would hurt you"

He scoffed lightly "no, no you knew he would hurt me, you just didn't think he would kill me" Nate gritted out, he breathe out trying to calm himself, he didn't come here to do this

She slowly placed her hand on his across the table, her eyes going soft and warm as she stared at him "I'm sorry Nate" she whispered out, her voice shaky, he wanted to pull away but he'd missed her touch and warmth, only now did he realize how much he'd missed her comfort. "I had to leave, he was gonna sell me to that lunatic of a man" she said the last part her eyes setting on the car parked outside that Spade had gotten into.

The word made Nate to grimace, he didn't appreciate the fact that she'd referred to Spade as a lunatic, yes he may have been one when they just met but he wasn't the same person anymore, even if he is the same person, not to him.

"We would have found a way around it" Nate pressed, seeing as she smiled sadly

"No we wouldn't, he would have killed you if you tried"

"And it didn't occur to you that you running away would have gotten me killed"? He asked and she sighed out and looked away, suddenly feeling guilty

"Are you here to take me back with him"? She asked, referring to Spade, Nate just looked at the car outside before his gaze rested on her again.

"Actually I asked him to find you for me, and he brought me here" Nate explained, seeing the stunned look in his sister's eyes "when you left we.... We kind of got close after dad beat the living shit out of me and left me for dead, Spade saved me" he explained, there was this fondness in his eyes as he spoke.

"He saved you"? She asked obviously in disbelief "the same person that threatened to kill you one too many times saved you? Nate he tried to kill me" she almost yelled and Nate clenched his jaw and sighed out, of course he didn't forget about all that, but Spade apologized for it and he's changed towards him since then

"He's not who you think he is"

"You're defending him now"? his sister spat out in disbelief

"I'm not defending him okay, it's just...." He paused. His sister just narrowed her eyes at him before she gasped out lowly

"Oh my God" she whispered out, her eyes moving from Nate to the car outside "you like him" she stated to herself, he just grounded his teeth together. That was not how he wanted her to know, but it was already out so no point in hiding it now. "How long"? She asked

"What"?

"How long have you... Has this been going on"? She asked and he sighed out

"A few weeks now" he muttered and she just nodded slowly.

"You know when I used to tell you to find someone to be with, I expected you to do better" she spat out, he flinched a little because of the venom and disappointment in his sister's voice and eyes.

This was what he was avoiding, her disapproval with him and Spade "You don't know him, and I'm not gonna try to explain to you the kind of person he is but he makes me happy and that's all I care about" he whispered out, his voice coming out with determination.

He didn't care if she disapproved of who he was with, she didn't stand by him when he needed her the most, she ran away, leaving him to the mercy of their father, for all she knew he could have died.

Maybe it wasn't really a good idea coming to see her, because now he felt more self conscious of everything about him If she was this disappointed in him about Spade, how would she react to what happened to him years ago.

Maybe the other person was right after all, if he had spoken up, no one would have believed him.

So they finally meet 😳😳

What do you think about how Su is acting towards Nate?

Is she being fair??
