Spade sat at his office going through some things, apparently staying back two days ago had actually not turn out to be the best idea, as he had a lot of work piled up for him, as much as mafia business got very busy and hectic, even the legal part of his business always got hectic too,as there things his PA couldn't handle without him here, like all the paper he had been signing all day.

And he couldn't just sign them without going through them, he had to be sure it wasn't something that would sabotage him. He rubbed on his temple as he groaned out lowly.

Maybe he'd skip going to the club today as he didn't think there was much for him to do at the club since he'd been there the previous day, he was even thinking of asking Nate to skip going to the club later too, so they'd stay together and maybe he could even teach him more about guns and fighting.

Thinking about Nate he smiled, the young man didn't really seem open to the idea of learning these things but Spade knew it was for the better. As much as he knew he would always protect Nate, he knew things happened unexpectedly and at situations like that he wanted to be sure the young man could defend himself.

And plus he noticed Nate wasn't usually as bright as he always was, not that he was sad and moody, but his mood had gone down in the past two days, Spade had asked him about it, thinking he wanted another time space between them, but he had argued it and said there was nothing of that sort happening

That had somehow reduced Spade's anxiety because like he had told Nate, he couldn't spend another long time period away from the young man, he was ready to tie him down with anything if it meant Nate would stay with him.

The things he was feeling for Nate, he couldn't possibly explain it to anyone and expect them to understand, hell it took him a long time to even understand what he felt for Nate, and now that he finally understood, he couldn't for the life of him imagine a time when he wouldn't have Nate by his side.

The young man was the light to his darkness, where Spade was the devil, Nate was his angel in white shiny clothes, that was literally how he saw Nate.

Nate didn't know this but he had saved him, from a whole lot of things. Nate was the reason he always looked forward to going back home everyday, Nate made a lot of things exciting for him.

Even the mere thought of going to bed and waking up became something that Spade looked forward to because he was doing it with the person he loved.

They had established a great relationship dynamic in the past few weeks, Spade was actually strangely very comfortable with it, that it was hard to even remember a time when he didn't have all that.

A time when there was no Nate, nobody to go back home to, nothing to be excited about, at a point even the mafia had lost the thrill it gave him. The only reason he still ran it was the fact that it was his birth right and he has literally killed his father for it.

But Nate brightened his life, all the dark parts of his life, he brought light to the, he had so much power over Spade that sometimes it scared him. There was absolutely nothing he wouldn't do for Nate if he asked, but the young man didn't even know.

He sighed out as he ran his hands down his face, it has been like this since he realized he was in love with Nate. He didn't go a second without thinking of the young man.

The phone on his desk rang, jolting him out of his thoughts as he picked it up and placed it on his ear "Mr DeVille" the voice of his PA came on the phone, he sighed out.

"What is it"? He asked softly

"The chief of police is here to see you sir" she muttered, making him frown, clenching his jaw tight, he felt as though he wasn't just thinking about someone that was making him smile.

This damn man had to come and ruin that, what did he even want? "Let him in" he grumbled out.

Knowing fully well that Garcia was just here to gloat or probably threaten him again, which was probably very stupid of him. He sighed out deeply, waiting patiently for the man to come in

He better have a good reason for coming here, because Spade wasn't even in the mood to watch or hear the man's annoying voice, he had better things to do that to exchange words with Garcia.

The door to his office opened up and one of the many people he hated in this world stepped in, he was smirking and the way he carried himself, with this smug aura and arrogance.

Spade clenched his jaw as he watched him walk into the office, looking around the whole place, before he finally sat down, not even asking for permission.

"We meet again Spade" he spoke up first, making Spade to grit his teeth together, the nerve of this man.

"I never said you could sit down" Spade gritted out, his whole body coursing with rage and anger, his hands were twitching on the table, as he wanted to just pull out his pistol and put a bullet in between the man's eyes.

The man clicked his tongue "I never asked" he retorted back as if he was daring Spade to say otherwise, Spade just growled out lowly, he wanted to strangle the man with his bare hands and watch the life drain out of his eyes.

Of all the people he hated in life, Garcia was the second, the first was Greg. "You have so much guts Garcia, coming into my office and acting all macho and smug" he spat at him, watching as the man's shoulders shook as he laughed

"If I were you at this point, I'd be careful what I say" he muttered, watching as Spade's brows furrowed, what's this lunatic going on about? He didn't have time for riddles "you remember when I told you I like to play and when it's time to actually put you behind bars, I will and nothing, not even your mafia influence would stop me" Garcia asked, Spade just narrowed his eyes at the man, waiting for whatever drama or magic the man was about to perform.

Garcia reached for his pocket and this made Spade to follow his movements, already preparing himself if at all Garcia wanted to pull out a weapon, he would pull his first.

But instead what came out of Garcia's pocket was a very small recorder, almost like a mini ball point pen, but it was a recorder, he knew it because it looked vaguely familiar, he'd seen it before somewhere.

He shook his head and focused back on Garcia, waiting to see where all this was going, and yes it was going somewhere. The man dropped the thing on the table and hit play, relaxing back on the chair, with his hands intertwined together on the table as he watched Spade with that smug smile on his face.

The voice came on and the first thing he heard was a small, angelic almost inaudible voice, a voice he would recognize even if he was bat shit high, or just awoken from a sleep of a thousand years.

It was Nate and listening to the thing, he recognized when this had happened, he frowned the more the recorder played, it was the conversation they had a day prior at the club.

The same one he had told Nate about the auction and what always went down there, he remembered thinking deep why Nate had wanted to know about the auction all of a sudden but he brushed it off as one of those things about him that Nate was interested in

But sitting here and listening to this recording of himself openly talking about the auction, same auction he never attended because he didn't want to give Garcia the chance to bust him up there, he knew now why Nate was asking about it. "What is this"? He gritted out, Garcia leaned closer to the table and picked up the recorder, turning it off before he smirked at Spade.

"That Spade, was you openly confessing about some of the shady things you're involved in, and it's very solid evidence against you, and it's also a warrant for your immediate arrest for further investigation" Garcia gloated, his face still holding that smirk.

Spade gritted his teeth, balling his hand into a fist, of course he knew already what it was, the man didn't have to spell it out like that for him "Where did you get this"? He asked and Garcia just clicked his teeth against his tongue as he shook his head.

"I'm sorry Spade, I can't give up my sources, confidential" he said and Spade only felt more angry, more betrayed than he'd ever felt in his whole life.

He wished Nate was here right now, to tell him what he just heard was a coincidence, and that it wasn't from him, or that he didn't purposely ask him about the auction for this.

And true to his heart, if Nate actually looked him in the eye and told him it was a lie or a fabrication of some sort, he knew deep down that he'd believe him. He'd believe Nate, anytime any day

He'd ask his questions, he'd get his answer but for now he needed to curb the situation sitting in front of him. He sighed out and smiled, seeing the way Garcia frowned for a split second before he masked it back

"Well I'm glad you like to play Garcia" he started, leaning against the table and looking at the man "fortunately for you, or should I say unfortunately for you, I like to play just as much" he said, before he relaxed on his chair, opening his laptop, he tapped on a few buttons, seeing exactly what he wanted before he looked back at a perplexed Garcia, who narrowed his eyes at him

"Let me tell you a story Garcia" he started, the man scoffed

"I don't have time for this Spade, just get up and follow me gently" he gritted out and spade just shook his head

"Relax chief, you'll have your chance to arrest me, listen to my story first and then you can decide if you still want me behind bars or not" he taunted, watching as Garcia gritted his teeth together, but didn't argue.

This gave Spade the chance to continue, knowing he already had the man's attention. "Back to my story" he started "it's a story of a man, this man had no wife, no kid, no identity, he lived all alone most part of his life, never interacting with anyone, he never caused any trouble or attracted anyone's attention to him" he paused seeing the irritated look on Garcia's face, he smiled evilly before he continued "This man one day decided he was too lonely and needed company, so he went ahead to adopt a kid, and then another and another, until he had four kids under his care, at first it seemed as if they were a happy family, he provided these kids with whatever they wanted and the foster system for once actually felt happy that good people still existed, even the kids felt they were very lucky to have been adopted by someone like this" Spade paused before he leaned back on the table, looking intently at Garcia. "Well that was until he started abusing these kids sexually, he didn't care if they were girls or boys or even barely of legal age, and he collected money from the system and used it solely for his own pleasures while molesting these kids"

By now he could see Garcia listening with rapt attention, but he didn't miss the way he kept shifting in his chair, and the small drop of sweat on his forehead, Spade knew he was getting somewhere so he smiled.

"No one knew what was happening to these kids, and after a while everyone around stopped seeing him and the kids, he up and left the town, but that was not the end of it, because he found another town and started life there, following the same routine, adopted four kids, and started with them, molesting them, taking money from the system and ruining the lives of those kids" Spade paused and saw the way he was fretting "He did this four town over and then stopped, each and every kid he sexually molested he dropped off at a mental asylum where he lied that the kids were delusional and were acting strange due to how they had been treated in the system and then he disappeared and never showed up again, so many years later, two decades to be precise, he shows up again in the big Apple city, and guess what"? Spade asked, of course he wasn't expecting Garcia to answer, because by now he was visibly shaking and sweating profusely

Spade smiled "he became the chief of police and wiped his own slate clean, gave himself a new start" Spade looked ahead like he was actually deep in thought before he smacked his lips and sighed out "The end" he finished before he leaned back on his chair, slowly twirling it and watching the mess Garcia had turned in front of him "Do you want to know what his name is" he taunted, watching as Garcia gritted his teeth together.

"What do you want Spade"? He gritted out in an almost growl and Spade just shrugged

"Oh nothing, but you my friend you definitely want something from me don't you"? He asked and saw Garcia shut his eyes. "I'm pretty sure you don't want what I just said to get out into the public, so you're gonna walk out of this office and this building and never show your face to me again, failure to do that Garcia, and every media house in New York will have your story, your name and picture plastered on every newspaper, and every headline" he muttered dangerously low, his eyes showing an evil glint that he meant every word he was saying.

The man in front of him swallowed before he got up and was about to leave when Spade stopped him "Oh before I forget Garcia, I'm gonna need that recording"

The man grunted out before he shoved his hands into his pocket and brought it out, placing it on the table harshly before stomped towards the door, not sparing Spade a single glance

Spade relaxed back on his chair before he remembered one crucial question he'd wanted to ask Garcia after he heard the recording "And Garcia" he called out, causing the man to turn to look at him "who gave you this recording"?
