Nate stepped out of the bathroom, with a towel hanging low on his waist, he walked towards the closet and opened it, taking out a smaller towel, he dried his hair

He hung it back on one the rack and pulled out a blue round neck, short sleeve and a grey hoody. He pulled out a jean and put them on.

He looked at himself in the mirror again, making sure his hair was not scattered or still wet. He sighed out, picked up his key from his bedside table and his phone.

He turned off the lights in his apartment and walked out of the house, walking through the hallway, he headed towards the elevator, got in and pressed the car lot, waiting inside his mind shifted to how quiet his apartment building always was.

He hardly ever met anyone that stayed here, he knew he had neighbors but he'd never really met any of them Well except for the blonde man he'd seen on two occasions in the elevator.

He hadn't seen him against since then. He wondered which floor he stayed at and why he had struck up a conversation with him. He looked strangely familiar but Nate could swore he'd never seen him before.

The elevator dinged bringing him out of his reverie as he stepped out and headed towards his car, passing by the front desk, he greeted the security man and walked towards his car, he stopped beside it and opened the door before entering inside.

He turned on the engine and drove away from the building. He sighed out putting his one hand on his chin. He left work early today just so he could meet up with where he was going. He couldn't concentrate on work properly, his brain and mind was all over the place.

Yesterday he had gone to see Spade, he waited until it was pitch black outside and the club filled with people, hoping to see him but it was futile.

Spade never showed up and that was the only place he knew he'd find him. Time was running out, the earlier he met and talked with him the better for him Su didn't have enough time again.

He gave them two weeks, and one day was already wasted, 13 more left and he was at a dead end. Today again he was headed to the same club, hopefully he would be able to see Spade today.

He ran his hands through his hair and sighed out, soon enough his car came to stop in front of the club again

He really didn't like that he was beginning to frequent this club these past week, but he had a good reason for coming here. Hopefully today would be his last

He got out of the car and walked straight inside, it was empty again, he was the only one here, his eyes moved to the bar area and he didn't see anyone. Not even the waitress he usually met here

He sighed out and looked around, not a single soul was in the club He took calculated steps inside towards the bar, hoping to find the VIP door open but he was wrong. Like every other corner of the club, he didn't see anyone.

He sighed out looking at the time, it was barely past 5. Since he'd been coming here it had never been this empty, where was everyone?

He could feel his nerves pick up as his hands got clammy and sweaty. He walked past the counter and looked at the other side, thinking maybe the waitress had met an unfortunate fate, but to his surprise and relief, there was no one there.

He let out a sigh of relief and walked further away from the dancefloor and towards the flight of stairs ahead, the same flight of stairs that led to Spade's office.

He climbed on it, still looking around his surrounding, hoping to see someone, anyone. But it still remained as quiet as a graveyard.

He took a turn on the stairs and climbed up the second one up until he came face to with the long hallway, it looked dark and almost endless.

He itched to call out to someone but that didn't seem like a good idea at the moment. What if something bad had happened and the culprits we're still lurking around

The only sound he could hear as he took calculated steps down the hallway, were the sounds of his heartbeat and the sound of his footsteps. His converse was kind of making it hard for him to keep a stealth mode.

He looked back at the stairs he just got off on and there was no one following him. He felt chills on his skin, even though he had on a sweater, something felt off.

"Sir" he heard a hard, gruff voice that made him jump in fear before he turned quickly and came face to face with a heavily built, tall and muscular man, he was dark and he wore one of those signature black clothes he'd seem Spade's men put on. "You're not supposed to be up here" he almost growled out and Nate swallowed before calming his fast breathing

"Uhm... Uh..." He could barely get the words out as he was still in a bit of shock, he thought no one was here "I came in and I didn't find anyone, so I came up here I thought something had gone wrong" he rambled on like a little kid, his subconscious face palmed himself at how pathetic he sounded with his words coming out in a whisper and rushed.

The bulky man just stared at him with a bored expression as if he was speaking in a foreign language. He narrowed his eyes at him, his hands placed on top of his waistband, which Nate was sure held a gun.

"This is a restricted area, you should leave" he muttered watching Nate act strangely.

He gulped and nodded, totally forgetting that he came here to see Spade. The shock had completely wiped that off his mind.

Almost as if something had snapped in him, he turned around and almost leaped out of the hallway, rushing his steps down the stairs, he could feel his heart hammering in his chest, like the mallet a blacksmith used on their hot iron.

He rushed out of the club not even waiting to find out what was going on behind closed doors, he didn't need a soothsayer to tell him that he'd just almost walked in one of the shady things Spade used his Club for.

He started the engine of his car and zoomed off. But this didn't stop him from wanting to come back tomorrow, he still needed to have that conversation with Spade, no matter what.

He promised Su he'd take care of it and he intended to keep the promise. Even if it meant coming to this club everyday non stop, he'd get to Spade.

He'd come back tomorrow, after the event he was invited to, or rather his father was invited to, but he was to go in behalf of the company.

He already had everything prepared, as always his secretary would be his plus one, he cringed at the thought. He didn't hate her, no. She just gave off this aura that was in a way irritating. And ever since the day his father mentioned something about sleeping with her, he just saw her in a different light.

Matteo had a serious look on, different from the funny, goofy face he had on a few minutes ago. Placing both his elbows on the table

"So I tailed Van Horne as you requested" he paused with a far away look in his eyes "at first I didn't see anything suspicious, in fact I was beginning to think it was a dead end, not until yesterday when I caught on to something" he finished and Spade just sighed out watching him with keen interest, his heart leaped a bit at what Matteo just said, so he was right after all, there was something fishy going on between Greg and Van Horne "According to what I gathered, he just got a large supply of weaponery about a week ago" he explained, Spade was not liking where this was going to "no one, not even the police knew about it, it was like it never came in through any of the borders" he explained having that far away look in his eyes again.

Spade sighed and leaned back on his chair "Like it came out of thin air" he muttered scratching his beards with his hands, Matteo just nodded

"And I'm talking sophisticated stuff, shotguns, enough ammunition, you name it" he further explained "So I asked around and I found out that he's been meeting with Greg since two weeks ago, through a middle man" he finished and Spade leaned closer to the table

Narrowing his eyes "let me guess, the Miller kid"? He asked, feeling his heart beat a little faster than usual, something deep within hoping he was wrong.

Matteo watched his expression for a while before shaking his head "No" he muttered and Spade's brows creased in confusion, Matteo opened his mouth to speak but the blaring of the phone stopped him, Spade growled out lowly before yanking the phone off his table, looking at the screen, he sighed out and answered it.

"Boss" the gruff voice of one of his close men sounded from the other end of the phone

"What is it Bernie" he grunted hoping this was important

He heard shuffling on the other side before the man spoke again "Mr Batroix just walked into the Casino now" he muttered and Spade sighed

"Keep him company, I'll be there in a minute" he muttered before hearing the voice of the man, he ended the call and the phone went dead

He dropped it on the table and sighed facing Matteo. "I have to be at Saint Deluca now" he muttered looking at his wristwatch, it was only 4:00pm and Matteo sighed out nodding is head.

"Then let's get going" he muttered getting up, Spade followed suit picking up his keys and walking out with Matteo right behind him.

He walked past his PA and gave her orders on what to do, they both entered into the elevator and he pressed the button for the last floor.

As they both waited while the elevator moved, Spade sighed shoving his hands into his pants pockets "Matteo we both can't go to Deluca" he muttered making Matteo turned to look at him, confusion etched onto his face

"Why"? He asked and Spade ran his hands down his face

"I need you to go the club and check things out for me there, I haven't been there since yesterday" he voiced out, omitting the part where he hoped Nate would be there, at least if Matteo was there too, he'd be able to call him if Nate showed up

Matteo sighed out and nodded "I'll brief you about Van Horne on the way then" he muttered. That was one of the things Spade liked about him, the fact that he never questioned him, not once since he'd known him and he has known Matteo basically all his life.

The elevator dinged and they both stepped out, eyes turned to them as they both took long strides through the spacious receptionist area, every employee they passed greeted him and Spade just returned with either a nod or a grunt.

They both stepped out of the building, the almost evening sun lightening up both their faces, their shoulders squared and sharp, they both looked like models fresh out of a magazine cover.

"Your car or mine"? Matteo asked and Spade just gave him a bored look

"Mine" he grunted out and Matteo just nodded.

"I'm only agreeing because you're headed my way" he teased before he walked over to the other side, opening the door and sitting inside the car.

Spade entered inside too, putting on his seatbelt and putting the key inside the keyhole, turning it the car roared to life and he zoomed off.

Lust was on the way to Deluca, so he'd drop Matteo off there before heading to meet Batroix. Batroix was a business partner he met on his trip to Russia. He was a famous and rich man in Russia. He was one of the few people the Russian mafia Don, introduced him to.

Like all made men, he was involved with a lot of shady businesses, using his company as a cover up. He owned a strip club, where he had so many girls that worked for him over there in Russia. They met at an auction, that was where Batroix always got most of his girls, but since he met Spade, he no longer waited until the annual auction in Russia before he got new girls, Spade made it easy for him.
