Spade was no saint, he was involved in a lot of things, including selling of people. He never bought anyone tho and neither was he directly the one doing the selling.

He may have sponsored a few of such auction, mostly because of the profit gotten from it, and he attended a few too.

Matteo sighed out, breaking the silence in the car "About Van Horne" he muttered grabbing Spade's attention again, he looked at Matteo briefly before his eyes set on the road again. "Nathan Miller was not the middle man, nobody knows who he is, the only person that knows who what he looks like is Greg and Van Horne" he added and Spade just sighed out

This was another dead end on this case. "So what? That's it, nothing else"? He asked and Matteo just sighed out, nodding his head.

"That's all I could get for now but I'll keep looking" he muttered and Spade took his left hand off the steering and scratched his beard

They were already close to Lust "What about the Miller kid"? Matteo asked making Spade's sharp gaze to cut to his, clenching his jaw, he felt a strange feeling burn his chest, something about the way Matteo asked about Nate caused a stir deep in his stomach

"What about him"? He grunted out and Matteo smirked, of course Spade didn't see him.

"Nothing, I just thought you said you'd keep an eye on him" he muttered and Spade just grunted gripping the steering wheel tightly, his mind drifting to how that went wrong, how Nate ignored him

He stopped the car in front of the club and Matteo undid his seatbelt before he got out of the car and walked into the club. Spade looked at the club itching to just cancel this meeting and walking inside, something kept itching inside of him, pushing him to at least see if Nate would show up tonight.

He let out a deep breath and drove away towards Deluca. What was it about Nate that interested him so much, something kept tugging and pulling his attention towards the brown eyed young man.

He wasn't even half as interested in his sister as he was in Nate. He wasn't even interested in who he was supposed to be married to in the next two weeks that much.

He clenched his jaw and drove faster, until he could see the lights of the Casino come into view. He slowed down and stopped his car in front of it, he turned off the engine and stepped out, his eyes moving and looking at every car parked out there, each one looking very expensive.

He walked towards the entrance, and the man standing there, wearing all black, with a wireless earpiece in his ear, he knew he definitely had a gun with him.

He strode into the building, without getting checked or stopped, perks of being a famous and feared Don and business man.

He entered and was met with a mini reception area, with a man standing behind the desk, dressed just like the one outside. He walked towards him

"ID sir" he muttered and Spade reached into his suit jacket and he pulled out his ID and showed the man, he nodded "welcome Mr DeVille" he muttered and gave him a Curt nod before using his hands to usher him inside.

Spade knew the checking of the ID was necessary, this wasn't the first time he'd be coming here, it was basic protocol for a place that housed dangerous people all at once

He walked towards the double doors and pulled it open stepping inside the very bright and busy huge hall, it was filled with different round tables for different purposes.

A lot of golden lit standing pillar like things, a lot of girls moved about with drinks on thier trays, they all had the usual work attire, stripped coulored skimpy skirt and bra, they all had beautiful heart melting smiles on but none could compare to the one of a certain someone.

He sighed and shook his head, clearing his mind of thoughts about Nate The other workers were mostly dressed in red waist coat, white long sleeved shirt and black pants, some ladies and others young men.

He walked down the small flight of stairs and used his eyes to try and locate the person he was meeting tonight. He passed by a few tables his eyes scanning through the men surrounding the table.

Then he sighted the man that had called him earlier on, Bernie, on one of the tables filled with shinning lights, and then his eyes settled on the seat close to him and spotted Batroix.

He took long strides towards them and soon stopped in front of their table The old man looked at him and his eyes lit up before a smile etched onto his face. He had small black dots adorning his face, with specs of white hair mixing his black shoulder length curls, he looked tall even while sitting down and his teeth were a bit yellowish in color as he smiled showing a few

"Spade" he called with excitement, his Russian accent still the same as the last time Spade had met him.

Spade gave him a Curt nod keeping his expression neutral "Mr Batroix" he grunted in response before his eyes landed on Bernie again and he bowed his head in respect "You can go" he muttered and the man just dropped the cards with him and left both men at the tabled

Spade's eyes zeroed in on the table and they were in deep in the game of poker. With the cards still with Batroix, he looked at Spade

"Join me" he muttered before pushing the one Bernie just dropped over to the girl on their table, adding his own to it, she collected it with a smile and started shuffling it

"What are you betting"? He asked watching Spade and Spade grounded his teeth watching the table closely, he shut his eyes and sighed out. He really wasn't in the mood for games but he couldn't refuse Batroix, not because he was afraid of him or anything of that sort, but because the man always had this policy of playing a game before business, that was how he always deals.

"A special invitation to the Italian auction coming up soon" he muttered and the man's eyes lit up with excitement and mischievous

"Oh, already sweetening the pot, aren't we Mr DeVille"? He asked and Spade just gave him the same bored expression he always had one "Alright then if you win, I'll give you the information you asked for, let the games begin" he almost squealed and the girl shared the cardd to both of them.

He picked his up and looked at it closely, luck was sure on his side. He had one Jack, one king and one Ace, touche, he thought to himself.

He saw the slight frown on Batroix face as he stared at the cards in his hands, scratching his chin and peeping discreetly at Spade.

"A little birdie told me you'd be getting married very soon"? He asked as he played the first game, it was a 10 Spade sighed out and looked at his game again. He nodded, still thinking of how to place his games, Batroix grunted. "A marriage of convenience"? He asked and Spade thought for a while, thinking of how to answer the Russian, should he just tell him the truth or should he ignore it.

Afterall it wasn't any of his business "Not exactly" he muttered and the man hummed. Spade spread out all the cards on the table, waiting on Batroix to open his, that would determine if he won or not. Showing all his cards meant he was all in.

Batroix looked at him in awe and something akin to admiration before he smiled and put out his cards too, Spade smirked. He had won.

The old man sighed out before facing Spade "you win Mr DeVille" he muttered "The information you asked for two weeks ago" he added before looking around, his eyes resting back on Spade.

"Someone came to me with valuable information on you, something very lethal too" he muttered, his accent emphasizing on the r "He offered it to me in exchange for your life, he wanted me to put a hit on you, apparently he didn't know I was very close to you" he muttered and Spade sighed out kissing his teeth

"Who is it"? He growled out already feeling his blood boil with anger, he balled his hands into a fist on his laps, keeping his face still very neutral. He could do that very well, mask his emotions.

"One of your own" Batroix muttered "but he's not alone, he's working for someone, I won't give you a name but I'll give you a location" he added and Spade just took in a deep breath and nodded, anything that would lead him to the traitor in his men, he would take.

Batroix leaned in and muttered something into his ears, he nodded and sucked on his inner cheek. He would be there and he would catch this traitor, whoever they are.

He stood up from the chair and fixed his suit before giving Batroix a Curt nod

"You know, you can still give me that invite to the auction, for old times sake" Batroix muttered with a mischievous glint in his eyes. This man and playing cunning, he still wanted that invite even though he lost fair and square "I gave you more than you bargained for" he pressed and Spade just sighed out with a bored look

"I'll see what I can do Mr Batroix" he muttered before turning around and walking out of the casino, leaving behind all the noise and chattering.

He stepped out and the cool night breeze hit his face, making him suck in a breath as he looked around and strode over to his car.

He opened it and stood just by the door, thinking about what Batroix just told him Hopefully for the first time since this whole rollercoaster ride started, he was a step ahead of whoever this person was.

He couldn't stop thinking of what he'd do to whoever was betraying him and feeding information to his enemy. They'd wish for death if he got his hands on them.

He entered into the car and turned on the ignition, the car came to life and he drove away from the Casino.

*****

The blonde man walked out of the elevator and headed straight to the penthouse, he had missed this place for the past few days as he had to stay in a hotel in disguise, just to get close to Van Horne.

He opened the door and stepped in, he turned on the lights and the whole living room lit up, a full set cushion was placed round the glass table in the center of the room, there was a smart TV standing close to the wall in front of the chairs

The kitchen was still dark, but rays of light from the living room illuminated parts of the kitchen.

He took off his tie and flung his jacket on the couch, he was super tired and exhausted. The only thing he wanted to do now, was run straight inside the bedroom and give his bed a sweet hug, he ha missed the feathery feeling the bed gave him, laying on top was like laying on clouds, soft and relaxing, even therapeutic.

But he was thirsty, the meeting he held at the club this evening had completely drained him. Thank God Spade had suggested he go there, a lot of things were out of place and he fixed them.

A lot of people always said, without him a lot of things would go wrong for Spade, some even said without him there'd be no Spade, but what they didn't understand was that, without Spade then there'd be no him. He owed him his life.

He sighed out and trudged lazily to kitchen, without turning on the light, he knew where most things were, so he pulled out a glass cup and turned on the faucet filling the cup up, before taking a drink.

The water immediately touched his throat and he let out a throaty groan at how sweet the sensation was. He could feel his throat bob with anticipation and excitement. Who knew drinking water felt this liberating

Suddenly he felt chills and quickly pulled the cup away from his mouth and placed it on the counter, the hair on the back of his neck had stood up, he wasn't alone.

His hands slowly reached the back of his pants waistband and he curled his fingers around the metal weapon there.

He closed his eyes before turning around and pointing the gun at the shadow, but it wasn't just a shadow, it was a person lurking in the shadows.

"I thought we were past drawing guns at each other Teo"? the strong, hard voice muttered, he'd recognize that voice anyday, anytime, he swallowed already feeling his fingers around the trigger get clammy and his neck growing hot.

The person stepped out of the shadows with a sinister smile on his face, Matteo just stared with parted lips

Who do you think the person is?

And also I'd like to see whoever's betraying Spade 😳🤔
