Nate managed to get out of the crowd as he reached the door and turned the knob slowly, he was met with a long hallway, no one in sight, the hallway was dimly lit.

He swallowed and took the first step, he walked slowly and gently towards the far end of the hallway, he flinched when the door shut behind him. He quickly looked back, but there was no one there, he sighed out and continued walking towards the wall at the end of the hallway.

There was a right turn and he looked to see another long hallway, different from the first one, it had doors on both sides, Indicating there were rooms here. He looked back again thinking if this was a right choice, following Spade to God knows where, but he needed to, he might not get a chance to see him again, given the way he'd been avoiding him since he gave the marriage ultimatum.

He walked further down the hall, his eyes moving between both sides at the doors, how would he even know where Spade had gone? He should have been faster earlier on.

After passing two doors, he was about passing the last one when he heard voices coming from inside, the voice was low, husky and chilling He could literally feel goosebumps on his body as he listened closely to the person speaking.

He knew that voice all too well. Spade. He swallowed and leaned away from the door, his eyes settling on the knob, should he just go in, or wait till he was done with whatever he was doing? How long would that take?

He stalked slowly and dangerously towards the table behind the man tied on the chair, he picked up the gun examining it, leaving the man in tension, he was sweating profusely as he couldn't tell what Spade was doing behind him.

"See Dom, I'm not a patient man and certainly don't have all night to play 20 questions with you" he muttered before turning around and walking to the front, facing the man. His eyes moved to gun in Spade's hand and he swallowed making a loud gulp.

Spade turned the safety off from the gun, resting his fingers on the trigger, he pulled the gun up and faced the barrel of the pistol on the man's forehead.

By now the sweat was no longer just droplets, but more like streaming down his face, he shook his head violently choking on sobs as he couldn't speak

"I'm gonna ask you again Dom, who are you working for"? He muttered, the tears from his eyes were now streaming down, but Spade still had a hard, emotionless look on.

"I.... I can't" he whispered, his pleading eyes moving from Spade to Matteo, hoping the blonde would solicit on his behalf, but just like Spade, Matteo had a stoic look on, his hands placed behind his bag in a crisscross.

Spade knew Dom wouldn't give up the name of whoever he was working for, and even if he did, Spade would still kill him for betraying him.

Nate could heard the sobs coming out of the room he stood in front of. A part of him was telling him to get the hell out of there but the curious and obviously stupid part was egging him on to open the door and see what was going on, on the other side of the door.

After a long self argument, his curious side won and he placed his almost shaky hands on the knob and twisted, before slowly pushing it open

The minute the door open, a loud bang resounded in the room, making Nate jump in fear, his whole body going into a frenzy as he started shaking.

He gasped out at the sight in front of him. A man tied to a chair, with a huge gash on his forehead, his head carelessly hanging backwards with blood streaming out of the wound, he wasn't breathing.

This scene looked all too familiar to him, on the right side of the dead man, Spade stood there with the gun in his hand, and on the left side was a blonde oddly familiar man.

Both their sharp gaze cut through to him, he sucked in a violent breath as he watched both of them scrutinize him with their eyes.

He looked at the blonde man and it all clicked, he looked familiar because he was the man he met the first time he went to Spade's club, he was also the man he had a conversation with in the elevator in his apartment building.

He gasped and looked back at Spade. Blood stains adorned his white buttoned up shirt, which his black jacket barely covered.

Nate's eyes moved back to the lifeless man on the chair, he could feel his breathing getting hard and laboured. His chest becoming tighter as he couldn't breathe properly.

His hands had gotten clammy and extremely sweaty, his whole body trembling with fear. He watched with horror as memories from his childhood resurfaced and threatened to suffocate him.

He let go of the door knob and dashed out of there, he felt like he was drowning and could barely keep his head out of the water. His legs couldn't carry his body as they almost gave up but he used the wall as a support system, dragging himself out of the place.

He finally opened the door and saw everyone going about their partying as if he didn't just witness someone get shot in the head

The noises became muffled, like someone had gagged everyone in the room, there was a familiar ringing in his ears, as he staggered through the crowd, past the dancing people and straight for the entrance.

Everything was hazy but he knew where he was headed. He pulled open the double glass doors and stepped out of the hall, unlike when he just came he barely paid any attention to the people outside.

He collected his keys from the valet and opened his car door, slumping inside with a heavy thud, he shut the door and rested his head on the steering, breathing hard.

He could no longer breathe properly, he was choking on air, as if that were ever possibly. There was air everywhere but he was choking, he felt as if something was blocking his airways, stopping him from taking a breath of fresh air.

He quickly started counting backwards, and taking huge gulps of air, just like his mother taught him. He could feel his chest burning with pain and lack of air, his whole body drenched in sweat.

He kept counting and breathing hard, until he felt his hands that gripped the steering wheel relax slowly. His tense shoulders eased themselves.

And the air in his lungs became sufficient enough for him to breathe in and out without difficulty. Even the burning in his chest had zeroed down to nothing.

He got up and took in a deep breath, his eyes moving back to the doors of the event center, Spade just killed someone and he witnessed it.

He wiped the beads of sweat from his forehead and rested his head on his chair headrest, before taking his keys he'd dropped earlier on and putting it in the key hole.

He turned the ignition and the car roared to life He gave the place one last look before zooming out of there

Spade stood starstruck, not moving and not saying anything. Matteo made a move to follow Nate but he stopped him with a raise of his hands. "Let him go" he muttered.

His eyes settled on the gun in his hands and he swallowed. This wasn't the first time he'd kill someone and this wasn't the first time he'd have an audience but seeing Nate look at him that way, left a bitter taste in his mouth.

It left a freaking, stupid burning sensation in his chest. The way Nate looked at him, those eyes in disbelief, disappointment, fear

Yes he liked the fact that Nate feared him, seeing fear in those brown innocent orbs fueled something in him but the kind of fear he saw in Nate's eyes tonight wasn't the usual one he liked.

This was more like a horrific look, like what Spade had done was beyond saving, like he'd committed a grave crime.

He sighed out and looked at the man on the chair before looking at Matteo again. "Clean this up" he muttered before walking out of the room, discarding the gun on the table.

He walked out of the hallway and into the huge hall, his eyes raked through, scanning to see if he would see him but he couldn't find him.

Not on the dancefloor, not in the bar and not mixed with people. He sighed out and ran his hands through his hair.

Why did he seem so bothered about how Nate looked at him. He was evil, yes He did bad and unimaginable things to people and he didn't care. Not once has he cared what anyone thinks about him.

Now he was pulling his hair, the image of Nate walking in on him shooting someone clawed at his mind, made him restless. The way he left the room, Spade knew he would not be okay, if he was as innocent as he looked then he'd definitely not be okay after witnessing what he just did.

His eyes landed on the girl that had been on Nate's arms all night and she was laughing heartily and flirting with an old man, he groaned and took long strides towards her.

He stopped behind her and she tensed noticing the man with her no longer looked interested in their chat.

"Mr DeVille" the man spoke enthusiastically, Spade just glared at him and he quickly got the message and scrambled away in fear, leaving just Spade and the girl.

"Hey handsome" she purred looking him up and down seductively and he almost plucked out her eyes, wasn't she here with Nate and now she was flirting with him

He ignored her straight away "where's Miller"? He grunted and he saw her brows scrunch in confusion

"Who"? She asked and he growled making her recoil back in fear

"Nathan Miller, where is he"? He gritted out, she gulped and shook her head, already very afraid of the scary man in front of her

"I... I.. I don't know" she stuttered put shakily and he sighed out and closed his eyes, before walking away from her toward the entrance of the hall.

He pulled the double doors open and the cool night air hit his face, his eyes quickly darted around the premises and there was no sign of anyone around, except for the Valet boys.

He parked his favourite car in front of the huge building, he sighed out and looked at the building and shut his eyes

Since last night his mind had been on one person and one person alone. He kept turning and tossing on the bed, thinking about what Nate would probably be doing or thinking about.

He couldn't ask Matteo about it, not because he didn't want to but because he knew Matteo would probably be busy with disposing of the dead body.

He was always composed whenever he set his mind on something but sitting in this car, his mind was spiralling out of control, something that had never happened.

He shut his eyes and shook his head, he hated this stupid feeling. It felt like he was chained and could barely move, like something was holding him back

What was it about Nate that got to him this much? It was driving him crazy, infact he was losing his mind.

For the first time in years, his mind had doubts about killing someone. Nate's eyes still haunted him, one of the reasons why he couldn't sleep last night.

It kept him awake and that has not happened in a while. All this was really giving him cause to worry, it was strange, very strange.

He has no connection to this young man, no reason to be bothered by him, but he was. Infact he was more than bothered, he was restless.
