Spade had managed to pull a chair from the kitchen, sitting on the chair facing Nate with his legs spread wide open, his elbows placed on his thighs and his fingers intertwined in front of him, he watched as Nate slept.

It had been over two hours since the doctor left, and he hadn't taken his eyes off Nate for a second, watching him securely as if he was a mother hen watching it's chick.

His eyes zeroed in on Nate's face, even with the bruises, he still looked exceptional or maybe it was just Nate's eyes or the fact that he was attracted to him, but nonetheless Nate still looked attractive even with bruises on his face and his sleeping form looked peaceful.

His eyes landed on his lips and they still looked small and inviting, he felt his body tensed up as he imagined things those lips could do, the way it would feel if he pressed his own lips on it, sucking on the bottom. He felt his member jump in excitement making him suck in a harsh breath.

His eyes quickly moved and settled on his almost hardened member, he could see the not so hidden dent in his pants, he sighed out and placed his right hand on top of it, pushing it down slowly, this wasn't the time to be getting turned on.

He looked back up at Nate and his heart constricted with an ache, how can someone do this to Nate, beating him to this point, how did he even get home on his own? What if he had died? Spade quickly shook his head at his own ridiculous thoughts.

His eyes moved to Nate's exposed chest, watching how his chest rose and fell slowly, his eyes moved further and he sucked in another breath seeing his torso, watching him up close felt much more different from watching him from a screen, now he could see every single detail of him, the small specs of chest hairs that adorned his chest and the few just below his abdomen, they trailed all the way down getting lost inside his pants.

Spade's eyes were about to move and go somewhere else when he quickly looked away and back up at Nate's face, clenching his jaw he let out a deep breath.

A thought quickly crossed his mine and he felt his fists tightening around each other, giving his heart a little push. What if this happened because of him? The casino they both went to the last time they talked, a lot of people there saw them together, he had a lot of enemies and a few would do just about anything to get at him, especially his new mystery man that was busy ruining all his business in hopes of getting at him, if they were the ones that did this to Nate because of him, he surely was going to kill someone.

He saw the slight twitch in Nate's fingers making him lean away on his chair and resting his back on it, he let out a deep breath watching as Nate started to move slowly, from his fingers to his legs and then his head.

Nate felt his hands twitch at his side, he slowly but surely could move his body, his head was still pretty much heavy, like someone had tied a drum bell to it and he was doing the lifting.

He willed himself to open his eyes but his whole body was against him, he felt so tired and weak, as if everything was too much for him. He felt the softness of the surface he was laying on, and it felt like soft feathers, but more like a pool of clouds.

Heaven Was he in heaven? he slowly peeled his eyes open as his vision was still blurry but he could see white blinding lights, he shut his eyes tight and grimaced. He tried again, willing himself and his eyes opened, halfway but his vision was much cleared than it did before. He could see the white lights clearer now and the white ceiling staring right back at him, but his other eye's vision was not as clear and then he felt like the eye didn't open completely like the other one.

He scrunched his brows as he looked closer at the ceiling, moving his hands he ran it along the cloudy thing he was lying on and it wasn't a feathery cloudy place, but a bed.

And why did his heaven look oddly familiar, he tried to turn on his side but he groaned and felt the sharp stinging pain on his right side, his face contorted in pain as laid back down with a heavy sigh.

Only now did he realize how much pain was surging through his whole body, he was still pretty much weak and tired but the pain he was feeling was enough to wipe the weakness away.

His head was pounding, even harder than his heart had ever pounded. He could literally hear each thumping sound it was making, as if someone was hammering something extremely strong in his head.

He shut his eyes and slowly moved his head to the side, but he wasn't expecting to see anyone, so he almost jumped when he saw Spade sitting there and watching him. He grimaced and hissed in pain at the sudden movements he made that almost made him break into two.

Memories from what happened before he woke up on this bed resurfaced, from the way his father had beaten him to pulp, to the threats and the reason he let him go. How he managed to drive himself from his father's house down to his apartment.

He could barely see while driving, but he remembered making it back to his apartment, but after opening the door and walking in, he doesn't remember anything else, and now he wakes up in his bed, tired, weak and he looked down and saw the reason why he could feel coldness on his chest, the buttons of his shirt were undone.

He swallowed and quickly started buttoning it back, his eyes landed on the huge bruise mark In his torso and he stopped, looking at the mark his father had inflicted on him. He felt Spade's scrutinizing gaze on him and he quickly buttoned up, covering the bruise mark, that was the pain he felt when he tried to lay on his side earlier on.

He slowly looked up and Spade was still staring at him, with something akin to concern, but he quickly brushed it off, Spade would never look at him with concern, he didn't care about anyone. What was he even doing here anyway?

He didn't ask though, he could feel the parchness of his throat and his eyes on instinct moved to the table on his bedside and he saw a glass of water, just sitting there. He swallowed as he felt his throat call out to the water, his mouth salivated as his throat bobbed up and down.

He stretched his hands towards the water but he was still far from it as his hands couldn't reach it, and the pain he was feeling was not letting him move freely.

He felt the air around him tense, and he could feel Spade standing just close to him and in front of him, with the water in his hands, he looked up at Spade's eyes and saw the empathy in them and the calmness, making him sigh out before his eyes landed on the water in Spade's hand.

He gingerly stretched his hands out and took the glass of water, making sure to avoid his hands touching Spade's hand He took it and looked up again at Spade's eyes, he could see the wait in his eyes, as if egging him on to drink the water. That only made him even more thirsty.

He slowly took the water to his lips, letting the edge of the glass rest on his lips, he slowly let the water touch his lips. Spade narrowed his eye on Nate's lips, feeling his own throat bob up and down as he felt his fingers curl on his side. Wishing those lips were wrapped around something else, he cleared his throat discreetly and looked away, if he keeps looking at Nate like that then he'd do something he didn't plan to do.

Nate felt the water flow down his throat as it quench the thirst he'd been feeling since he woke up, he swallowed greedily as if this was his last drop of water.

He almost finished all the water before he pulled the cup away from his mouth, he moved slowly and this time his hands reached the bedside table, he dropped the cup on it.

His eyes fell on his fingers as he dropped them on his thighs, both men didn't say anything to each other, each one of them lost in his thoughts.

Nate was thinking and wondering what Spade was doing in his bedroom, and if he was the one that brought him here, also he saw some drugs on the table beside his bed, which meant either Spade had gotten them or called a doctor Either way, none of that answered his question of what or how Spade had gotten into his bedroom

Spade was racking his brain, thinking of how to start this conversation with Nate, the air was awkward and tense, he was looking at Nate but Nate was looking down at his hands and that kind of got to Spade in a way. And the fact that Nate hadn't said anything to him also stirred something in him. He clenched his jaw and watched Nate with keen interest.

Nate could feel Spade's eyes burning holes into his head, but he didn't wanna look up, not because he was afraid but because he could feel the tension in the air, it could be cut with a knife or scissors.

He couldn't just sit here and bask in the awkwardness in the air, it was getting unbearable for him. He slowly moved again and grimaced, hissing at the pain in his body, basically his right side. He groaned out and used his hand to rest on the bed supporting himself.

He got out of the bed, with his legs touching the ground, he placed all his weight on his hands resting on the bed, before grimacing and grunting out, all these sounds were stirring Spade, making him feel strangely.

He pushed himself up, feeling the heaviness in his head get even more prominent, he growled out as his vision was hazy and foggy His ears had a familiar ringing in them. His legs grew weak as they gave up beneath him, he almost fell down, waiting the impact from the fall, but instead he felt hands grabbing his forearms and wrapping around his body, he tensed at the sudden touch.

Feeling his whole body grow hot, his senses had suddenly gone haywire, as he felt jolts of electricity and a sweet sensation running through his body, even though Spade's hands were touching him from his shirt, he still felt the sensation move through his whole body.

Like someone possessed, he quickly shrugged Spade's hands off, resting his hands on the wall beside him. "I'm fine" he groaned out as he let Spade's hands fall off his body. This made Spade to clench his jaw as he watched him, did his touch burn Nate's body? Was there something wrong with the way he touched him?

He let his hands fall to his side as he fisted both hands to a fist beside him. Watching the young man limp towards the bathroom, he didn't say anything. Just kept asking and questioning himself about a lot of things

He watched Nate's back until he finally got to the bathroom door, he opened it and walked inside. Immedaitely he entered the bathroom, he shut the door gently behind him resting his back on it, he let his body slide down the door as he groaned out clutching to his stomach

He didn't like how he felt when Spade touched him, not that it was bad but it didn't feel like the right time. He shouldn't be feeling this way now and not for Spade.

He managed to pull himself up again, grunting in pains. He held the wall for support before he walked towards the sink, looking up at the mirror in front of him, he almost jumped as he could barely recognize himself in the mirror.

The person staring right back at him looked broken, bruised and battered. His one eyes was completely swollen and purple, while his lips was busted on the side, his jaw was swollen.

He looked down at his shirt, seeing the specs of blood staining his shirt, he sighed out and slowly unbuttoned his shirt, stopping at the last button, he looked at the huge purple bruise on his side, he touched it and hissed at how much it stinged him.

He bit his lips, and tried to swallow the pain surging through his body, his head was pounding and it felt heavy, too heavy for the rest of his body to carry.

He slowly buttoned back his shirt, sighing out he finally walked towards the door again with the small strength he had left and stepped outside. His eyes moved through the room and landed on Spade still standing where he was when he left him minutes ago.

With his hands shoved into his pocket, his eyes met with Nate's and Nate quickly looked away, avoiding his gaze, since he woke up he hadn't held his gaze more than one second. And unknown to him, this didn't sit well with Spade as it made his stomach clench with an unfamiliar feeling.

Without going back to the bed, Nate started advancing towards the door to the bedroom, in hopes of going out into the living room. Spade quickly started following behind him. He kept watching him, waiting to see if he would sway and fall again, he didn't want him to sustain more injuries than he already did.

Nate opened the door and stepped outside, Spade was hot on his trail, right behind him "Where are you going"? He finally asked, his bone chilling, velvety voice making chills and cold goosebumps to erupt on Nate's skin as he sucked in a discreet breath.

Not stopping or even acting as if he heard Spade, he didn't answer his questions and neither did he look back or stop.

Spade clenched his jaw and let out a deep breath "Miller" he grunted hoping to get his attention but the young man in front of him just kept going, heading towards the kitchen without stopping and totally ignoring him. This made his jaw tick in frustration. This wasn't even working out, he growled out lowly and his hands flew out and grabbed Nate's arm, spinning him to look at him.

Nate sucked in a harsh breath as his eyes met with grey, brooding and almost angry eyes, why was he angry? He had no right to be angry, Nate thought as he clenched his jaw.

"Who did this to you"? He asked the important question he'd been itching to ask since he stepped foot into this house and saw Nate in that state.

Nate opened his mouth and closed it back almost immediately, before letting out a deep breath, he pulled his arms away from Spade's grasp, turning around again. "It doesn't matter" he muttered almost inaudibly, making Spade growl out.

This was pointless, he needed answers, and for whoever did this sake, he hoped Nate never mentions their name, because he was sure to make them suffer twice as much as Nate suffered.

He pulled him back again, making the young man's eyes widen as his lips slightly parted "I want a name Miller" he almost growled out in anger, this made Nate scoff as he licked his lips, he couldn't believe this man, what right did he have to come here and play savior, asking him questions that didn't concern him at all
