As promised Spade drove Nate back to his apartment early the next morning, the drive was as silent as a graveyard, Nate was looking out the car and Spade had his eyes set on the road, he stole glances at Nate from time to time, his mind drifting to what happened the night before, Nate's nightmare and the way it felt knowing he was able to calm him down.
He kept wondering what Nate was possibly dreaming about that put him in that much fear and terror Nate didn't say anything about seeing him in his room last night, which meant he either didn't see him, or he did and was pretending not to.
He sighed out as the building they were headed to came to view. He drove towards it and stopped in front of it, turning off the car engine he turned to look at Nate, he still hadn't looked his way, infact Nate had barely said anything to him the whole morning.
He took off his seatbelt, avoiding Spade's gaze "Thank you for the ride" he muttered and Spade just nodded, not saying anything, he didn't know how to start the conversation he was having in his mind with Nate.
It was easier thinking about it than actually doing it. He felt the moist in his palm as he held the steering wheel tightly. Nate was about to go out, but he needed to talk to him. "Matteo will bring your car by noon" he muttered and Nate just nodded, Spade clenched his jaw, grounding his teeth.
He opened his mouth to talk "about..."
"Yesterday...." They both spoke at the same time and stopped at the same time, Nate finally looked up at him, honey brown eyes, bright under the shimmering morning sun, stared at him, they were big and beautiful that they took his breath away, his lips parted slightly as he felt entrapped by Nate's gaze.
He swallowed and quickly looked away from Nate's eyes, before he got hypnotized "You go first" Nate muttered before looking away from him, giving him the go ahead to speak first. He sighed out, rolling his tongue in his mouth
"I wanted to ask if I could drop by later and take you somewhere, there's something I need to show you" he muttered out, his face was blank, his eyes didn't give off any emotions asides the calmness in them, but deep inside he was dying with nervousness, his heart beating fast, and his throat felt like they were blocked from receiving air.
Nate sighed out, licking his lips, Spade's eyes landed on them and he felt the same warm fuzzy feeling settle in his stomach, his mind going back to last night when he had a chance to touch them, feel them but he didn't. If he did, maybe he wouldn't have been able to cage the raging beast inside of him threatening to pull Nate close to him and taking his lips in warm kiss.
He looked away quickly as if the sight burned him, and it did but not in a bad way, in a sweet, exciting kind of way.
"If you're planning on taking me to a Casino again..." He quickly cut him off
"No, I'm not taking you to a casino" he rushed out, letting his voice grow from hard to soft at the ending "I just wanna take you somewhere quiet, somewhere we can talk, just tell me I have your permission to come pick you up later today"? He asked, his stare unwavering and sincere. It made Nate's heart beat faster as he felt his whole body went warm and tingly. The fact that Spade was asking for his permission, giving him a choice, it made him feel safe, he felt like he mattered.
He swallowed hard, his eyes moving between Spade's. "Okay" he whispered mentally cursing himself for letting his voice come out so weak and low But he didn't miss the look of relief that fell over Spade's face, maybe he saw wrong but he could have sworn he saw Spade let out a deep breath of relief, even the worry lines in his face before were suddenly gone. His face now looked more relaxed and calm
He nodded "alright, 4"? He asked and Nate just nodded, today being a Saturday he had nowhere to be, except if his father called him unexpectedly.
Speaking of his father, he wanted to ask Spade about what happened the previous night, the party and the shooting Matteo was in the middle of talking about it yesterday before his little outburst.
He looked at Spade, uncertain if it was a good idea to ask him. "What is it"? Spade asked seeing the confusion and questioning look in his eyes, the doubt swirling in them
He didn't think Nate would agree to go out with him, but he had to try, he could feel his heart thump when he asked him, he was already expecting a no and another outburst from Nate but he was surprised again by the young man.
Even though his face was stoic and blank, he could feel the tiny flame of excitement bubbling inside of him. "Nothing" Nate mutttered, quickly looking away from him, he fought the urge to turn Nate's face to look at him and ask him what was wrong "I just... I wanted to ask about the party last night, but never mind" he muttered making Spade to run his tongue on his lips, Nate wasn't looking so he missed that action.
"I'll explain to you everything that happened last night" he muttered making Nate look at him, his brown eyes lighting up with curiosity and doubt.
"Really"? He asked almost gleefully and Spade just nodded, trying to keep the smile tugging at his lips at bay, the way Nate was already showing signs of excitement was warming and felt good to know he sparked that reaction in Nate
"Yea, later today when I come to pick you up, I will explain everything to you" he muttered and Nate just nodded
"Okay" he whispered, the car suddenly going silent as both of them stared at each other. Like they were in a trance, either of them looked away. Spade felt his hand twitch, now that Nate was awake, he wanted to run his hands through his hair like he did last night, he wanted to know if Nate would feel good or if he would reject it and push Spade away.
The air got thick and tense, Nate didn't know why he didn't look away from Spade's piercing gaze, maybe because he liked the feeling of having Spade's eyes on him, he liked the way it made him sweaty, his palms clammy and moist. He liked how his breath was stolen away with just one glance, one look from grey, attractive, consuming, alluring eyes.
Was he crazy? What is he doing looking into Spade's eyes like that. Yes he liked it but he didn't know if Spade appreciated him being so bold. He quickly looked away, making Spade to miss the warm feeling Nate's eyes gave him. He clenched his jaw, watching as Nate pulled at his tie He was putting on his tux from the previous night, even though Spade had offered him his clothes, the tank top and the joggers.
"I should go" he muttered and Spade just nodded his head in agreement before Nate pushed open the door and stepped out of the car.
Spade watched his back as he walked into the building. He put his car on and drove out of the building, heading back home.
Nate walked into the building, it was quite as always, except for the security guy at the desk, he gave the man a curt nod before walking past him and going towards the elevator
He pressed it open and walked in, pressing the button for his apartment floor, he shoved his hands into his pants pocket while waiting for it to move up. He looked at his own reflection from the elevator doors. He looked exhausted, he kept having nightmares last night, and they were all terrible.
He sighed out, his mind going to his somewhat conversation with Spade. He shouldn't be thinking about it too much but he was, it was on his mind like a plague, eating deep inside.
He didn't know what it meant for him or for both of them Spade wanting to start over, did it mean they'd be friends now? Or was is just some kind of truce between the both of them? He really wanted to know.
And maybe, just maybe then he'll understand why he was attracted to Spade, something that he didn't think could happen, it wasn't a possibility he ever considered, not with anyone and certainly not with someone like Spade.
The elevator dinged and the doors pulled open, he stepped out and headed for his apartment, stopping in front of his door, he searched his pocket for his key card and pulled it out, swiping it through his door, it clicked open and he pushed the door open, stepping inside his house. The lights were off, so he switched it on. He missed the comfort of his home, not that Spade's house wasn't comfortable enough but he liked the feel of his own environment.
He pulled his tie off and stalked towards his bedroom, opening the door he strolled inside, turning on the lights With a heavy sigh, he plopped on the bed. He was thinking about two things at the moment
His earlier conversation with Matteo about Spade, and his conversation a few minutes ago with Spade about taking him somewhere quiet and talking. He wondered where Spade would take him to, deep down he was having this sweet, jittery feeling in the pit of his stomach.
There should be nothing exciting about going out with Spade but he couldn't help his body's reaction to it. He didn't even know what would happen after the talk with Spade.
He was doubtful about the outing and at the same time, he was excited. He wanted to know what would happen, if after today he'd still feel this pull and attraction towards Spade.

Greg twirled his chair impatiently as he dialed a number, waiting for the person to pick up, he was angry and pissed off at the person he was about to speak to. He hoped the person picked up And true to his hope, the person picked up, he heard static from the other end of the phone
"Greg" the person's voice came on, even sounding worse than the static of the phone, he clenched his jaw.
"What happened yesterday"? He snapped as he felt his blood boil with anger
"What do you mean"? The person asked and Greg just balled his fist, hearing the outrageous reply the person gave him.
"What do I mean? There was an attack, a shooting at Liam's party last night" he gritted out still hearing shuffling from the other end
"Okay..." The person drawled out making Greg to grit his teeth together in anger
"Incase you forgot I got an invitation to that party, why didn't you tell me you'd be doing it last night, we agreed in doing it at the auction" Greg gritted out and he heard the other person sigh out
"Plans changed okay, I didn't inform you because it was a last minute change, but I was sure to give them a list of people they would take out, I'm sure you weren't on it and besides you're on the phone with me, which means you weren't touched" he rasped out making Greg to pinch the bridge of his nose in frustration
"You're hearing from me because I didn't go, I sent my son to go for me, and I'm pretty sure whoever was working for you doesn't know my son" he gritted out
"Even so Greg, they wouldn't have touched him, he's not on their list" the person muttered making Greg to growl out in annoyance and frustration, he couldn't with this man They are supposed to be business partners, so he didn't understand why he would make such a decision without telling him.
"There's something called stray bullets and they don't hit targets" Greg spat at the person on the other line
"Look Greg, I really have to go, we'll talk about this later, in the mean time, congratulations our plan is almost done, maybe that will ease your worked up nerves" the person muttered before Greg could say anything to that, he heard the line go dead, he pulled the phone from his ear and looked at the dark screen, resisting the urge to hurl the phone at the wall.
Sometimes he wondered why he does business with this person, he could get so impossible. Greg didn't really have much of a choice tho, he was right, their plans were indeed halfway through, soon enough they'd have him under their grasp.
They'd have Spade under their mercy Just a little longer He can't wait to see the pain and agony in those eyes of his, just like the same one in his mother's blue eyes the night he raped her
He remembered that day like it was yesterday He was kind of surprised when Spade agreed to do business with him, especially when he agreed to get married to his daughter, the boy was indeed foolish and predictable, just like his business partner had told him.
If only he knew what Greg had done in the past, but he'd never know. No one would. It was a secret he would take to his grave, not even his so called business partner knew about it, well not really the real truth. Of course Greg had lied to him, if he knew the real truth of what happened that night, he'd kill Greg.
Okay, sketchy 😩😩
