Both of then walked into the building, Spade had a domineering aura around him, he reeked of power and danger, while Nate was more like a lost puppy right beside it's owner.

He was trying to match up to Spade's long strides, with his hand tucked in his pocket and his face stoic, blank. His jaw was set in a hard line, he clenched it tight that Nate felt sorry for his teeth, this man would actually break them one day with how often and how hard he always clenched his jaw.

They got close to the security man on the counter, his eyes fell on Spade first and Nate could see the fear settle in his eyes, as he straightened his posture

"Mr DeVille" he rushed out eagerly and fearfully "we didn't expect to see you here today" His eyes landed on Nate who suddenly even looked more brighter than him

"Joe, you can go back to work, I came to see a friend" his hard, thick and gruff voice made Nate to shift his attention from the shocked and overwhelmed guard to him, although his face still looked blank, his words had struck a cord in Nate.

Spade had just told someone else that they were friends. It tugged at a few strings in his heart. When Spade had asked them to be friends, he didn't expect that the man would actually go around telling people that they were actually friends, this was someone that had never admitted to being friends with Matteo.

They both stopped in front of the elevator and it opened up, Spade was the first to get in, Nate followed behind him, standing just to his right. He pressed the button to his apartment floor and watched as the door closed in front of them, leaving them both staring at their own reflection, Nate finally had a chance to look at Spade from the elevator doors, taking in his body features. His broad shoulders that almost didn't fit the suit he was wearing, but at the same time fit perfectly well, beneath his clothes, Nate could already imagine how toned and firm his chest would be, he'd actually felt it once, even though it was from the fabric of his cloth. And his face, they were one of the most perfect thing about Spade that Nate noticed, perfect jawline, his beard was sitting on it as if they were both tailored specially for each other, like two peas in a pod. Then his nose, which wasn't large or too pointy, just the perfect size, his lips, dark like blood but still very bright and radiant.

His eyes took the crown of it all, even though most times Nate saw them they were cold, hard and almost hateful, he couldn't help but notice how exceptional and beautiful they looked, and then whenever they warmed up while looking at him, he would always feel like he could get lost in them forever.

He had a dream look in his eyes, a look that was causing Spade's whole body to erupt in heat, as desired pooled down to his member, feeling the thickness of it as it rose up.

Nate didn't know that Spade was watching him too from the elevator doors, as his eyes drank in every little detail of the man's body, though he was gazing at Spade from the elevator doors, Spade felt like Nate was actually staring at him directly, he could feel Nate's stare burn through his skin, leaving sweet tingles on every part of his body. The dreamy look in Nate's eyes made him look like he was star gazing.

He probably had something else going on his mind, Spade thought, because obviously Nate can't be staring at him like that and be looking so dreamy, he wasn't deserving of those eyes to gaze upon him like that

Even though he was a very feared and respected person, there were times like this when his own insecurities got the best of him, made him doubt himself. Most times it was work that got this feeling out of him, never has another person been able to make Spade self conscious, but Nate was doing it without even realizing what he was doing.

"Why did you tell him we are friends"? Nate asked the question he'd been wanting to ask since they got into the elevator.

Spade turned to look at him, he always liked doing that whenever they were standing close to each other, because somehow it gave him a sweet satisfaction that he was a lot bigger than Nate, not too big but much taller than him.

Not that Nate wasn't tall but beside Spade he was a bit short. Nate was actually a few inches below Matteo in height

"Because we are" he said nonchalantly

"But you were quick to admit it out loud, but you didn't do so when I said Matteo was your friend" Nate mumbled out, Spade just turned to look at the elevator doors, seeing the number slow down, and indication they were close to Nate's floor.

"Because Matteo and I are not friends"

The doors chimed open and he stepped out first before Nate followed him, leading the way towards his apartment, he fished out his key card and slid it over the door, feeling his palms go warm with heat, after that day Spade found him in his apartment beating to crap, this will be the first time he'd be entering into his apartment again.

And now he suddenly felt self conscious about it, what would Spade think about his average apartment? He'd been to Spade's house before and saw how it was, high standards and rich man style, which was totally not his style.

Not that Nate wasn't rich or anything, but his father always made sure to give him just enough so he wouldn't run away, and he always monitored his spendings and bank accounts.

He had tried to open offshore accounts a couple of times, the first one was brought down after the cops confronted him about it, they said accounts like that were often used for fraudulent activities, so to be sure he was clean, they closed it.

The second one, his father had traced it back to him, and the outcome wasn't so good, and then he threatened to hurt him even more if he ever tried something like that again.

He still hadn't opened the door, even though the door had clicked open and creaked a bit, he could feel Spade's body heat emanating onto his from behind as he swallowed hard.

The last thing he wanted was for Spade to give him judgmental looks, he should have just let him wait for him in Matteo's apartment, he suddenly wanted to turn around and tell Spade to just go back to his club that he'd meet him there, but it was kind of too late.

He suddenly wanted something to distract him from his thoughts, because it wouldn't take long before Spade starts to sense his hesitation. His eye moved to the key card in his hand and an idea popped up.

"How did you get into my apartment"? He asked as he slowly pushed the door open, entering into the apartment first, Spade followed behind him, taking slow steps.

The whole place was dark, so he gingerly moved his hand towards the switch "The day you...." He trailed suddenly regretting bringing it up, but it was too late. He turned on the lights and it shone through the whole living room, making him tense.

Spade didn't miss the way his shoulders went stiff with nerves, he could tell Nate was feeling self conscious of his apartment but Spade didn't care, where Nate lived didn't matter to him, he just wanted to spend time with him.

And on the plus side, Nate's apartment wasn't bad at all, very simple, average and homely, even for a bachelor's pad.

"I own the building" his husky voice came out almost too deep and rumbling, he was standing behind Nate and the young man almost jumped as he felt his whole body ignite with electricity and fire all together. He didn't mean it to sound as if he was bragging or anything

Nate just turned around scrunching his nose up, making the tip to turn pink, it made him look like a cute bunny that had his nose poked. "So what? You just strolled in without any hindrance"? He asked as if he didn't like that Spade invaded his privacy without his permission.

Spade could already feel an upcoming argument, and he needed to avert it, it was quite too early at this stage of communication he was trying to build for them to be arguing again.

"Not exactly, I have the default code to every door in the building, I only use it on emergency and what happened that night was an emergency" he explained, Nate bit his inner cheek, his eyes moving from Spade and to his walls before he turned around, suddenly facing the reality of things, Spade was in his house, and not because he was beaten and bruised but because he just wanted to.

He let out a deep breath, curling his hands on his side, easing off the moist in them. His nerves were slowly creeping back up, the insecurity and self consciousness was clawing from the depths of his mind.

"You know you never really told me who did that to you" Spade's voice seem to break the little chain of nerves forming in his body, he quickly walked further into the room, while Spade just followed behind him as he gestured for the couch for Spade to sit down, he just looked at it and then moved his eyes back to Nate, he was avoiding his question

He swallowed "that's because it doesn't matter" he mumbled "what can I get you"?

"You were beaten and bruised, left for dead, I'm pretty sure that should classify as top priority" Spade said looking at him intently, also ignoring Nate's offer for something.

He just looked away, dropping the manilla folder he'd been holding on the glass table in the middle of the living room Spade wanted to press on the matter but he was already feeling Nate slip out of his grasp, the strain was obvious, if he pushed too much he would shut off again, and this time maybe forever.

He gently sat himself on the couch, feeling it's softness and comfortability, even he was exhausted from the day's work and it only took him sitting on this couch to realize it.

Nate turned around, feeling the anxiety inside him slowly slip away as he sensed Spade had dropped the questions about his bruises. He learnt a long time ago never to involve someone else in what his father does to him. It never ended well, either for him or whoever he involved.

"I'll be back in a few minutes, let me just take a quick shower" he rushed out, as Spade only just nodded without saying anything.

He walked around the couch and straight for his bedroom, shutting the door he relaxed his back on it, letting out a deep sigh of relief.

He thought that would never end, he almost passed out from anxiety and too much nerves Even his fingers were sweaty, places he didn't know could sweat in his body was sweating.

He loosened his tie and took off his suit jacket, before dropping it on the bed, he sat down on it with a heavy plop and sigh.

The day had been a crazy one, and it wasn't even over yet. Knowing there was a man waiting for him in the living room, not just any man but Spade himself.

The same person that was once his very own devil, haunting him around, not that he wasn't haunting him now, but it wasn't in a bad way. More like erotic and crazy way Make his whole body warm with desire, want and lust.

All these feelings were strange to him, he didn't know if he wanted to explore them What if Spade didn't even feel that way for him? He didn't wanna get his hopes up for nothing, he'd never feel this way before for anyone, man or woman. And this being his first, he didn't want to be wrong and end up hurting himself.

He's been hurt enough for a lifetime, he didn't wanna add the pain of heartbreak to it, and especially not from someone like Spade.

He undid his button slowly, before peeling the shirt off his body, and then he took off his shoes and went on to his pants. He could feel the strain in his neck as it hurt from all the turning and work he'd been doing. He needed more than just a shower, maybe a massage would suffice.

He groaned as he rubbed it gently, easing off some of the tightness, before taking off his boxer briefs and singlet, he was now stark naked, with his clothes scattered on the bed. He stepped into the bathroom, hoping the hot steamy water from the shower would make him less tense and bright eye for what was to come at Spade's club.

I know I said no more updates for the rest of the week but I just can't help it 😜😜
