Entering into the club, Nate's anxiety skyrocketed as his eyes darted around the room it was still very empty so he didn't know why he was this nervous, there was no one here to even stare at him or make him self conscious but he was still nervous.

He walked closer to Spade as he followed in his steps. The place looked pretty much the same, the neon lights in the dance floor was moving round in circles, changing from one color of light to another.

They got close to the bar and he saw the young lady he always met at the counter, she was standing there, her eyes on him as she was dressed the same as always, she gave him a sweet soothing smile. He quickly returned it with a small one of his own.

Spade was already a bit ahead of him as he rushed towards him, slowly turning back to look at the girl again, before focusing back on Spade's broad shoulders that flexed in front of him as he walked.

They followed the same stairs and dimly lit corridors, that led to Spade's office, the closer they got the more he felt his nerves eat at him. A small voice almost mocking him in the back of his mind.

He shook his head to stop all negative thoughts, Spade stopped in front of his office, Nate could still remember the door, black with golden hinges, definitely Spade's style. He brought out a key card and swiped it across the door, hearing the shush sound, it creaked open.

He walked in first and Nate followed cautiously, one step at a time as he stepped into the office, cold, dark and almost lifeless. This office would have depicted what Spade was like, if not for the fact that the man had been showing him a different side of him lately, making him actually wonder if Spade wasn't always like this, like Matteo had said to him.

Everything in the office just like his house was black, just like he'd remembered it. His mind went back to the first time he actually came here, apologising to Spade for something he didn't think he did, but now here he was, actually having Spade trying to make him feel safe enough to work for him, it felt like it was only just yesterday but a lot had happened since that time, a whole fucking lot.

He always came here because of his sister, but now he was here for himself, even though Spade had countlessly convinced him to come here, still he was here because he wanted to and not because he had to.

"Sit" Spade's velvety deep voice bounced off the walls of the office, sucking Nate's attention to him, as he looked at him, Spade gestured to the chair In front of his desk.

Nate let out a deep sigh before taking slow, cautious and calculated steps towards the chair, pulling it out slowly, he fixated himself on it, watching as Spade walked round the other side and took off his jacket, draping it over the headrest of the chair opposite Nate, he sat down slowly folding the sleeve of his white shirt.

Nate swallowed to moisturize his almost dried up throat, the way Spade's arms flexed when he rolled up the sleeves of his shirt, it made his veins to buldge out, running along from his wrists deep inside his arm, getting lost in his shirt.

He shot up again from his chair, his eyes lighting up as if he remembered something "Can I get you something, a little scotch maybe"? He asked walking towards the mini bar in his office, it looked just like Spade's father's, but quite expensive and exquisite.

Nate shook his head "I don't really drink alcohol actually" he mumbled out, feeling his cheek heat up, Spade cocked his brows up in amusement as he slowly took his hands away from the bar

"So you've never taken alcohol before"? He asked and Nate shook his head quickly

"No, not that I've not taken at all, it's just.. it's been a while" he muttered remembering the last time he'd actually taken alcohol, it didn't end well, he was carrying a hangover all around school the next day

It was during his freshmen year in college, when he tried to be rebellious, to both his father and the fear the man had instilled in him

Spade nodded slowly, before letting out a deep breath, he walked back to his chair and set himself on it, realizing that the more he got to know Nate, the more fascinating he became.

It was like the story of Oliver twist, the more he found out, the curious he became to find out more, to unravel the man sitting in front of him, he wanted to know what made Nate who he was.

Not just being a young CEO, but the flustered young man he was, the scared, lost and alone young man he was. There were times he'd notice him flinch at sudden movements, Spade wanted to know why, the fear that always clouded his eyes.

It was never a fear of the unknown, instead it looked like a fear of something he already knew, something he'd already felt before. Like a child that had been burnt with fire and the fear that would always be present in his eyes whenever he saw fire again. That was exactly the look Nate always had on whenever he was scared.

"About me working for you" he muttered, intertwining his fingers on his laps as he stared at Spade.

"Yes about that, like I told you before, I wouldn't ask you to do something outside your capabilities, you'd handle the paper work around here, the numbers and a little redevelopment"

Nate almost choked on his own spit, these weren't just child's play, Spade made it sound like a walk in the park but it was harder than that, more like a journey through the wilderness.

He'd done a lot of renovating on old buildings and redevelopment on old properties but not on clubs, and especially not a club as prestigious as Lust.

"Redevelopment"? He asked and Spade just nodded casually, placing his elbow on the table and leaning back a bit "You realize that's like saying you want me to change somethings here"? He asked, just to be sure Spade knew what he was asking of Nate, and he nodded again with the same look, as if he couldn't be bothered of the outcome Nate opened his mouth to ask him why he would entrust something like that to him, but he clamped it shut, still looking at Spade, his eyes filled with concern, a little fear, doubt and self consciousness. "Uh... I.. I don't know what to say" he whispered out

"There is nothing to say" Spade muttered out "look, you don't have to start right away, you can go through some paper work, maybe even get a little assistance from someone who's been here long enough to know one or two things about how things are run here"

Nate looked at him This wasn't as easy as Spade made it sound, he didn't even know if he was capable of handling something as big as this.

Spade was studying him, watching as his face morphed into different expression and emotions, there was confusion, surprise, doubt, shock, curiousity.

All of them were interchanging themselves in his eyes and his face. Spade was wondering what he would do, of course he knew the work won't be easy, but he was very sure Nate could handle it, and plus he'd get to have him close with this, because Nate would either have to work in his office or one of the offices close to his

He pulled out his phone and dialed a number, placing it on his ears, he heard the first ring before the person on the other line picked up "Boss" his gruff voice resounded through the phone

"Bernie, I need you in my office now"

"Okay boss" the man mutttered before the line went dead, he focused his gaze back on Nate as both of them stared at each other Nate was still thinking about what Spade just asked of him, he knew the man was waiting for an answer, but he didn't think that request had an answer for it.

Yes he'd agreed to work for Spade, but he never expected this. Maybe a little paperwork like Spade said, but not this much control over the club, it was too much for him.

He felt dizzy even while sitting down, like a kid that had taken too much candy and was having a sugar rush. Handling Spade's paperwork was one thing, but redeveloping his club was another.

They both heard the gentle knock on the door, snapping them from their thoughts as Nate strained his neck to look back. "Come in"

Already knowing who was there, he relaxed on the chair as the person walked in, looking sharp and alert as always He was one of his best men yet, after Matteo, Bernie was the next best man he had on his team.

He gave Spade a curt nod as his deep emerald green eyes rested on Nate who wanted to push himself further into the chair he was sitting on. He looked up at the man that just walked in, he was tall, maybe as tall as Spade but less muscular. He was putting on a tank top that exposed his hands, which were covered in tattoos, there was practically no skin left untouched. He had combat joggers on, and his neatly shaved face was set in a hard, cold way, his brunette hair was ruffled up, and he looked rugged and tough. But his eyes were the only thing that kind of made Nate a bit safe sitting here. They reminded him of his sister, green just like hers.

"Boss" the man's voice was an exact replica of his face, hard, tough, void of any emotions

"Bernie" Spade mutttered, watching Nate before he looked back at the man in front of him "Nate here would be working with us in the club" he introduced, making the man to turn sharply to look at Nate, he felt his skin burn with anxiety, the attention on him was uncalled for and making him uncomfortable. "He'll be taking care of most of the paperwork around here when I'm not around, I expect you give him your full cooperation"

The man nodded as his eyes once again landed on Nate, while completely avoided his gaze, only looking at Spade then his hand on his thighs

"Nate" Spade called making him look at Spade, sharp and attentive eyes, somehow hearing the soft way in which Spade said his name had eased off his nerves, the way his name rolled off Spade's mouth, having a slight Italian accent to it, it made his name sound almost different and sexy "this is Bernie, I'm assigning him to you, he's gonna show you everything you need to know about the club"

Nate suddenly wanted to shake his head vigorously, telling Spade that he didn't want this strange and tough man to look after him or show him the ropes. But instead he said something else "uhm.. I appreciate the offer Spade, but I... I dont..." He stumbled on his words as Spade watched him, seeing the conflicted look in his eyes.

"Is that okay with you"? He suddenly asked, face palming himself for not asking Nate's permission in the first place, he promised everything would be to Nate's liking, but he just assumed the young man would like to work with Bernie without even asking, putting him in a tight corner "If you don't want him assigned to you, I can get someone else"

Nate shook his head, looking up at the man who still had a blank look on, suddenly feeling bad for him, he didn't even know him and he was judging and rejecting his helping hand.

"You can leave us Bernie" Spade ordered seeing the conflict and turmoil in Nate's eyes, both emotions being mauled together by doubt, each collapsing on the other and forming a huge voice of fear in Nate

The man gave a nod before walking out of the office, his loud thumps fading away with him. "I should have asked before calling him, I didn't think you'd be uncomfortable" Spade muttered, his face going from neutral to sullen and then back to neutral again, he kept switching facial emotions like that and it was messing with Nate's mind.

"No not, it's okay, I just..., I kind of freaked out, it's my fault" Nate whisper and Spade let out a deep breath

"I'd have asked Matteo to do it, but he's a little bit occupied at the moment"

Nate just waved his hands in the air shaking his head "No, it's okay really, I can manage on my own"

"What if I do it"? Spade velvety, deep and an octave lower voice sent sweet, jolts of shivers down Nate's spine, but it wasn't the voice that kept Nate glued to him, that kept his eyes set in a long stare on Spade.

It was actually Spade's eyes. They had gone from soft, calm and grey. To dark, deep, hungry and swirling with something Nate couldn't understand. He swallowed, only now realizing what Spade just said.

"What"?

"What if I put you through it? What if I'm your guide until you're familiar with everything here"? He asked again and Nate just shook his head

"No, I couldn't ask you to do that, you have a lot of work and adding the weight of a newbie shouldn't be among them"

Spade almost chuckled at Nate's innocence and cluelessness. If only he knew the real reason Spade wanted him here, was so he could keep an eye on him, protect him and be close to him all the time. So being his somewhat teacher was still part of the plan.

"I don't mind" he whispers huskily, making Nate to almost get lost in everything about Spade "It won't be much of a trouble"

Nate thought about it, he wanted someone like Spade to show him things around here In fact he wanted Spade himself to do it, but what about the downside of this. He wouldn't be able to concentrate with Spade around him all the time. But he'd rejected one person, he couldn't reject Spade too.

So like a lost puppy, he let out sigh "Okay" whispering out

I love these two 😜😜🙈
