You kept your head down, heart still rattling against your ribs as you silently prayed that Nyoka would finally lose interest in the conversation - to get bored, to laugh, to walk away and be done. To let you be nothing again. But she doesn't. No, she continues to linger. You feel her eyes on you - that calculating, predatory gaze, studying you the way a cat does a mouse before deciding whether to bat it around some more. You'd sooner prefer to be put of your misery than toyed around like this. Surely she had better things to do, especially someone of her status. She could do whatever she wanted with Daddy's money so why waste time with a shy loser like yourself? The air crackled with tension and a slow, creeping pressure tightened around your chest. An invisible string squeezing you with every nervous breath you took. Then came the sound you dreaded to hear most. A slow, knowing chuckle, laced with something cruel, something interested. "Ohh," she hums, tapping her fingers against her chin. "You're fun." Your stomach immediately twists into a knot. You don't feel fun. No, you felt like a bug caught under the burning glow of a magnifying glass, sizzling and writhing. Your struggles feeding your captor's sadistic appetite. Nyoka remained by your side, leaning slightly into your personal space with an infuriatingly smug tilt to her head. Her eyes scanned you invasively, as though she were peeling back your skin layer by layer to see what made you tick. "From everything I've heard, I expected you to cry and beg like everyone else or have a panic attack or something." She grins. "But you got that dog in you. Granted, it's one of those small, gross dogs with the red shit in their eyes. Nothing actually intimidating. But it's definitely in there somewhere. I can sense it. You'd just looove to fuck me up right now, wouldn't you? If you could, you would." You swallow hard, resisting the urge to shrink further into yourself. You didn't know exactly what she was on about nor were you interested in finding out. This had to be some sort of test. An experiment to see how you react to having your buttons pushed. She exhaled through her nose, almost like a sigh, before flashing you a sharp-toothed smile. "I like you." Somehow those words felt worse than any insult. More terrifying than any threat. An icy chill ran down your spine. You already knew- Nyoka doesn't like things in the way normal people do. She likes things the way a lion likes an antelope. There was no genuine affection in her words, nor was she interested in forming a friendship with you. No. Those words solidified the worse case scenario: you would be her next victim. "I have to go," you said quickly, turning to move away from her. However, she slammed her hand against the wall beside you, refusing to let you leave her burning radius. She grinned. "Ha! As if. You're just going to ignore me? We're not finished here yet. And let's not forgot that you were totally stalking me and my friends before. I doubt you'd like it if the whole school found out what a dirty little creep-" THWACK! Both of you were instantly stunned as an object, fast as lightning, flew between you two. It slammed into Nyoka's cheek, nearly knocking her off her feet. A hard spherical object, punching against her skin. She staggered, dazed at the sudden impact, hand touching the side of her face. Her friends immediately gathered to offer support but she shook them off furiously. "WHAT THE FUCK?" She yelled as she looked down at the object that had been thrown at her. A baseball. Everyone, including yourself, looked around to see who the suspect was but the corridors remained eerily empty. Nyoka glared at you accusingly, eyes boiling with rage. "Was this you!? Did you set this up? Have one of your fuckass ugly friends assault me while I was talking to you?" You shook your head frantically. Nyoka gritted her teeth. She clearly had more to say but bit back her words. She knew deep down that you couldn't have possibly been in involved. You were far too meek and harmless to arrange something on that level. Plus, she had plenty of enemies around the school. It could have been anyone really. Slightly humiliated, Nyoka huffed and began stomping away, hand still clinging to her cheek. Her friends followed, murmuring and fussing like a gaggle of geese. Did that really just happen? You looked down at the ball that had rolled past your feet. Your unexpected saviour. Whoever you are, thank you.

Koda giggled to himself quietly from where he was hiding, blush spread across his face. He did a good thing. He was a good boy. Initially, he had planned to throw a chair at Nyoka but upon entering one of the empty classrooms and dragging it across the floor, he realised that he'd need quite a lot of strength to launch it from such a distance. Not only that, but he couldn't afford to draw attention to himself. That's when he noticed someone's baseball gear leaning against the corner of the wall. His immediate reaction was to pick up the bat. It felt natural to him. He shivered at the thought of brutalising Nyoka right then and there but his thoughts were (thankfully) interjected by reason. He couldn't just murder someone right then and there - especially not in front of his favourite person in the whole universe! With mild disappointment, he set the bat back down and opted for striking his enemy in the face instead.

And unfortunately for Nyoka, Koda had lethal precision to his throw. There was no room for mistakes to be made. If he accidentally he hurt you, he'd never forgive himself. As you walked away, relieved that the ordeal was over, Koda followed not too far behind.

Kitty Yin yin I miss you (*・ω・)ノ Where did you you go? ('• ω •') Uhh ur not mad at me, are you? ( '·д·`) Because if you are, I am really really really sorry!! (。'A`) Yin? Kitty Oh no U really are ignoring me ('°□°) Did I say something bad? (ó﹏ò。) I'm sorry if I said something that upset you! I really do love and care about you! I'd never want to hurt your feelings ..( ˶óᯅò) !! Please please talk to me, Yin│˶˙ᯅ˙˶)꜆ I want to make things right!! Kitty Wait. Kitty Ahh I see. Don't worry, Yin ('• ω •') I'll protect you (·ω·)

▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃

You stared at the texts in confusion. Kitty really was a social experiment. Sometimes absolutely nothing he said made any sense. Protect you from what? Talk about strange timing. You chuckled quietly to yourself, imagining your faceless, online friend Kitty being the one to launch the ball at Nyoka's head. Even if it wasn't real, you liked to think that Kitty was somehow involved and called upon divine intervention to save you.

▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃

Yin Hahaha what are you talking about. You are very strange sometimes

Kitty Yiiiiiin!! (♡ˊ͈ ꒳ ˋ͈) I missed u Are you safe? Did you get hurt anywhere? ( ∩'͈ ᐜ '͈∩)

Yin No, why would I be hurt? Did you send assassins after me

Kitty Hehe I just like to make sure you're alright ( ੭•͈ω•͈)੭ I'd never let anyone go near you lol ( ˊωˋ ) Kitty You were gone for quite a while, huh? (·ω·)

Yin Sorry I didn't mean to stress u out Something came up I still think you're a bit insane for what u said earlier though

Kitty (⸝⸝ ⚬ _ ⚬⸝⸝) oh right Sorry? (。﹏。")

Yin I see... You don't even know what was wrong with what you said

Kitty I guess I don't (ᵕ—ᴗ—) I just don't think you should be getting involved with random ppl you don't even know. Stressing and blaming yourself for not stepping in? Quite frankly it seems counterproductive. They're the ones who got themselves in that position in the first place. You're not responsible for every stranger's poor life decisions. Plus if it's such a big deal, that student will report the matter themselves. So, Yin, please don't put yourself in those kinds of positions again. I don't want you to get hurt.

Yin Ok ( ;' - ';)

Kitty WAIT ('˶°□°) Ahhhh I'm sorry!! I sounded kinda mean just then, didn't I? ( ˘•̥ _•̥ ˘ ) I wasn't trying to make you feel bad or anything! (;△;) What I meant was you should value you yourself more! You're maybe a bit too nice sometimes, Yin (⸝⸝๑﹏๑⸝⸝) I truly respect you. I'm so lucky to have met someone so kind And wonderful. ('• ω •') But you shouldn't stress about "what you should have done" Everyone freezes up sometimes. That's not something you can't control unfortunately (。•́︿•̀。)

Yin I guess you mean well even if your personal ideology is a little questionable

Kitty Hahaha I think your personal ideology is questionable too! ♡ You're so cute and silly, Yin (='∇`=)It's what I love about you! I'm glad we could sort this out together. I was really worried you didn't want to talk to me anymore. (˶‾᷄ᗜ‾᷅˵ ᵕ) hahaha You have no idea what I was planning to do (ᵕ ' ∇ ˋ ˶) lol

Yin w what were you planning to do??? should I be scared? Tf

Kitty You never have to be scared, Yin ( ˊ͈ ꒳ ˋ͈)♡
