I sit on the couch across from who I can now fully see is Amara, Alessia, Aria, and Elena. what the hell are they doing here?

'Where do I start?' I sign, I don't know how to begin this conversation.

"How about you tell us how your Dove, the fucking assassin everyone fears!" Elena says, excitement laced her tone.

'Don't sound too happy, it's not a pretty story.' I say and her face drops.

'I didn't become an assassin by choice, more like I was forced to become a trained killer and now I'm using that training to my benefits' I explain honestly.

"You were forced to become an assassin?! By who? What happened?" Aria asks frantically.

'My father was a horrible man, he shouldn't even be called my father. He knew what would happen if he sent me to that school, and he sent me away anyway' I tell her.

I feel Nikolaos's gaze on me but I pay no mind, he can ask me questions later.

"So, your father sent you away to a secret assassin school. Why? Because he saw you looking at files?!" Amara asks, anger lacing her tone.

'I wasn't even the one caught looking through the files. The person who was caught just told him that it was me, so he took me and shipped me off to a school located on enemy territory' I tell her honestly.

'What did he expect to happen? Hell, he- never mind. Anything else?' I ask wanting this to be over with.

Amara and Alessia give me a questioning look but drop it.

"Do you know who was actually looking through the files?" Amara questions. I nod. "Why don't you tell Sebastian and clear your name, you know? Grandfather would leave you alone!" She tells me.

I shake my head, not yet.

She sighs but nods her head nonetheless.

"You were on a mission tonight?!" Aria shouts.

I nod.

"Who did you kill?" Alessia questions.

I take a glance at Casandra, Atlas, and then Nikolaos. 'The Devil Twins' I reply. I hear Elena and Aria gasp.

"Diovanna, you know what this means right" Amara asks, calm as ever.

'I know, I have a target on my back now. He isn't the first person I've killed of the Russians since I've come back' I explain to her, looking out the window at the stars.

"Diovanna, this is dangerous-" Amara starts.

'You don't think I know that! You think that I'm killing them for no reason?! You know nothing of what they have done to me, so leave it.' I say fed up of them thinking I don't know what the fuck I'm doing.

'I had a target on my back the day I stepped into that school. I became theirs and the second that school shut down, they were never gonna let me go' I say, frustration clear on my face as I rub my temples.

"Okay, who else did you kill of the Russians?" She asks changing the subject.

'Shadow-Hunter' is all I respond with.

"Okay, alright, can you tell me what happened tonight?" She questions.

I inhale a sharp breath before looking between Nikolaos in Casandra hoping they will get my point.

"You want one of us to tell them?" Nikolaos asks catching on to what I'm doing.

I nod. Casandra and him seem to have a conversation with their eyes before Nikolaos sighs and starts talking.

"Dove- or Diovanna, came to Casandra for help with a mission, the Devil Twins. Casandra happens to have a business deal with my mafia. So she can only help out our allies but since we had never truly met with Dove officially" he says side glancing at me for the time I killed his business partner.

"We went with Casandra to make sure Dove wasn't trying to damage my mafia. She wasn't so Casandra said she would help." He continues.

"Atlas and I came with incase the girls needed help, we would be right there in the parking lot. We could hear them and see everything through the security cams. But what we didn't know was that this was a trap. They were trying to lower out Dove since they know she is after them" he explains to their confused faces.

Nikolaos looks to Casandra, "we had gotten our drinks, I didn't watch closely enough to them and they spiked Dio's drink. I left to go to the bathroom and that's when the twins entered the building" Casandra exclaims.

"Dio didn't want to loose them, so she followed them. She didn't know they had spiked her drink so when she got dizzy she just thought she stood up too fast. The next part is kind of brutal and hard to explain, why don't I just show you the footage" Casandra pauses picking up her lap top and setting up the video.

I don't want to see it, I can't.

Amara, Alessia, Aria, and Elena all watch closely as i kill two men while completely drugged and with them continuing to tell things about my past.

I drop my head into my hands and close my eyes. A warm hand begins rubbing small circles on my back.

Nikolaos.

"He was going to, he, oh my gosh" Elena stutters out. Horrified of what they wanted to do to me.

"It wouldn't be the first time" I whisper out, shocking the four girls in front of me.

Nikolaos's hand momentarily pauses from my sentence before he continues his motion.

Casandra already knew so she just gives me a sad smile.

"when, when did that happen?" Amara breaks the silence. I shake my head, i don't want to talk about it.

"Okay, how is your arm?" Alessia asks probably remembering the video. I give her a thumbs up and show her the stitches that go all the way down my arm.

Another scar for the collection.

Aria winces and looks away. "That looks like it hurt" she states. 'It did, but I didn't make a sound when he did it.' I tell her with a small smile.

At least they gave me a high pain tolerance at that school.

Aria gives me a lop sided smile in return.

"Okay, that's all we wanted to know for now. You do know Amara and I are assassins to right? And Elena and Aria have both killed people before, We could have helped" Alessia explains.

I nod. 'I know, but this is my revenge plan and I want none of my family involved, just like I want absolutely nothing to do with the Italian mafia.' I tell her sternly.

"But if you told Sebastian, he could give you missions and make sure you are safe every time you g-" I cut Amara off.

'I'm tired of always being told what to do and who to kill. From now on I work for myself and myself only. I'm going to go through with my plan and you don't know anything so leave it alone' I snap at her.

It may seem harsh but I'm tired of being controlled. Exactly why I will never work for someone else.

"Okay, I get it. It's 6:25, we better go home before we all get caught. If we aren't already" Amara grumbles.

I nod. I give a hug to Cas and a nod to Atlas before Nikolaos walks me to the door. He said something about it being good hosting or something.

I don't know, he is weird and annoying, and crazy.

'Thank you' I tell him honestly.

He just nods.

I turn and walk out the house to my car where my four cousins are waiting for me.

'You tell anyone who I am, I kill you' I tell them before hopping in the drivers seat and we all head home.

Let's hope we don't get caught.



Okay, it's official 6:30 and Diovanna still is not downstairs. She is always up early. I decide that maybe i should check on her and see if she is sick.

I pass Domenico on the way up, "have you seen Diovanna?" I ask. He shakes his head. "Alright I'll go check on her." I inform him and head upstairs.

I head up the stairs and down the hall be for knocking three times on her door. After about a minute when I didn't hear anything I entered.

But she wasn't there. I went over to her bed, she wasn't there, I checked her closet, she wasn't there, I go into her bathroom but she wasn't there either.

When I leave the bathroom, I go to tell Domenico she isn't there when a figure catches my eye on the balcony.

Turning around, I now notice Diovanna stands leaning on the balcony railing just looking out at the trees.

I release a breath of relief and head over to the balcony. I stand next to her just looking out at the nature.

I notice a deep bruise on her face. What the hell happened?

"Diovanna?" I call out. She hums in response.

"Where were you?" She for real thought I would think she was on the balcony the whole time?

She turns to me, a grin spreading across her face before a laugh escapes her lips. Before I know it we're both on the floor laughing so hard we can barely breathe.

She is wheezing and so am I.

When we finally calm down, we're both laying on the floor looking at the sky. She taps my shoulder and I look over to her.

'I promise soon enough, you will understand why I was gone. It's just not time yet.' She tells me. What does she mean? It's not time yet?

'It will make sense soon' she tells me before standing up and walking to her bathroom.

I trust you Diovanna, I do.



I take a shower, washing all the events of yesterday off. I scrub gently today as my skin is still very tender after I scrubbed so hard yesterday. I'm also careful with the minor cuts and bruises on my body.

I don't even try to cover the bruise on my face, that's too much work.

I'll just say I got in a fight or something.

When I'm done showering, I dry off and brush my teeth before head to my closet. I pick out a tight black long sleeve shirt and some grey sweatpants. I leave my hair down to air dry before putting on some fuzzy socks and my cow slippers.

I slip on some jewelry and head out my room to go downstairs but someone grabs my arm and pulls me into a room.

Looking around I notice I'm in Lucian's room.

"What the hell Diovanna! Where were you?! We were worried sick" it is now that I come face to face with a concerned Lucian and a concerned Luca.

"What happened?" Lucian asks, softly grabbing my face to look at the bruise that has formed.

'It's nothing, leave it alone Lucian' I sign. I go to leave but he grabs my arm. The arm with the stitches.

I wince and he immediately lets go of my arm. "Diovanna, what happened?" Luca asks, his tone demanding.

'It's just a scratch I'm fine' I tell them.

"Darling, please don't keep things from me. You're my best friend. I- I just want to make sure you're okay, please don't leave me in the dark" Lucian tells me, tears well in his eyes.

I didn't mean to make him worry, I just want him to be safe. 'It was a mission' I give him the truth.

"You went on a mission and didn't tell me? Why? Who did you kill?" He fired questions at me, anger hidden in his words but I know he is just worried.

'I don't want you involved in this Lucian, we talked about this. If you help, you will become a target' I tell him honestly. If something happens to him, I will never forgive myself.

"I don't care! If you're doing this so am I! You will get yourself killed doing this by yourself" he exclaims whisper shouting, still keeping this conversation private.

"He is right, from the little you told me, this is definitely dangerous and if you won't tell Sebastian at least let us help you" Luca buys in.

'I killed the Devil Twins, I did not go on the mission alone. Casandra and two other guys were there with me, the plan just went a little side ways and I got a cut. It's nothing' I give little information.

I know how he is, he will dig and dig until he knows more. I just don't want him to, he'll get hurt. I can't have that.

"You're not telling me everything. It's okay, just tell me when you're ready" Lucian tells me before walking out the room.

"He cares about you, let him. He just wants to help, we all do" Luca tells me before following Lucian.

Maybe I should tell him, but then what if he helps me and the Russians try to use him as leverage against me?

He's my best friend, I won't let anything happen to him. No matter the cost.

I go to walk out the room when my phone pings with a message.

Unknown: I miss you sweetheart, But I would like it if you Stopped killing my men. Remember I'm always watching So don't get to close to that family of yours, or Ruth and Luna Will pay the price.

My blood runs cold at this persons threat. I know they are from the Russians mafia or the Blood Doves, but I don't know which one. They have so many people after me.

I just have to make sure nothing happens to my family. As much as I say I don't care about them, they will not get hurt because of me.

If only this was true.
