[ The expressionless Awakener ]

A day has passed and i went outside my room like usual, forgetting what apparently happened yesterday.

Suddenly, I jumped as the sudden sprung of confetti shot at my face.

Mother: "Congratulations!" My mom spoke excitedly as she held the empty confetti springer in her hand.

Father: "Congrats kim!" My dad spoke aswell.

Sister:"Congrats." My sister also replied.

Brother:"heheh... Congrats!, Did the confetti surprise you?" My brother asked enthusiastically.

My whole family, Came outside of my room and congratulated me from the sudden occurrence from yesterday. Because of this, I was able to remember what happened.

I began to stare at them with an expressionless face and nodded simply; "Yeah- Scared me apparently."

Suddenly, my brother took my arm to the kitchen And surprised me again, but this time, with a whole lot of different dishes on the table.

Brother:"Congrats kim! There is even a cake for you!" My brother waved his hands as he proudly showed the 'surprise' to me.

My stomach began to rumble as i looked around at the dining table, already hungry just by looking at the different dishes.

Mother: "Alright! Before we could eat, let's hear a few words from kim from this unexpected surprise!" My mom spoke as she took my arm to announce.

"It was surprising. That's it." I replied straightforwardly.

Mother: "......Thats it...??" She asked tilting her head.

"Yes." I immediately answered.

Mother:"Good enough, let's eat!" . . . . . ".........nice." I mumbled silently after finishing my food.

The food on the table was no longer but scrap and bones. My siblings really enjoyed the feast and my parents were very enthusiastic about it. During dinner, They were questionable about how I passed, and I was able to answer their questions "diligently." ( Though I keep making gaps in my answers.. ).

At least my parents have something to brag about now with their friends.

Brother:"If my brother didn't pass that exam nor did i make a bet with him, This whole entire buffet at the table wouldn't have existed!" He spoke sarcastically.

Sister:"mhm." I nodded.

"It was only pure coincidence or luck that i passed that exam." I replied.

Brother: "Well, who cares! You passed anyway!"

I stared at my sarcastic brother with the usual annoyed poker face, even though he was the one who started this in the first place. "."

After that, A whole week has passed, and I eventually arrived at the new school with the uniform and badge attached to me.

It was honestly sooo far and I had to take multiple taxes on the way here, But least I was able to arrive on time. ( I forgot trains existed )

I looked around the huge building for a bit and I realized that the school building was as massive as my house. The longer I stared at it, the more the building looked bigger.. No, 100x bigger than I thought it would.

'hmm....' I thought as i stood at the gate, looking at the school in front of me.

Suddenly, A random student ran into me and I fell from the ground.

'Thump'

Random student:"Oops! Sorry, -Didn't mean to bump into you!" The student spoke as he quickly apologized.

"It's fine." I said silently.

The student continued to rush to the front of the entrance, seemingly in a hurry.

I took my time and stood up from the ground, brushing off the dust off my newly brought uniform.

Suddenly, A random strike hit at the back of my head, Giving me slight nausea.

'What the...'

Memories began to pour inside my head, Familiar fragments that I have done in my past life, which I was supposed to forget. Even so, This process gave me a headache.

'Oh...'

I shook my head and opened my eyes more clearly.

The realization I had gave me a much more vivid view of my own memories, Which gave my current situation a clearer answer of why it struck me.

I then realized that this school... This whole world....

'I'm in a novel.'

The realization began to take a toll on me, As the place where I was transferred, Is actually the main place where the story first began.

In which a novel named: "Novel reincarnation".

'Ah... It's the novel I had read before...' I sighed as i thought about it.

'This whole school...., How come i didn't remember this..?' I thought as I began to ponder.

Confusion is what I am already used to when i'm at home, But this unexpected occasion was a bit too much for my head.

'Novel reincarnation.... It's about the protagonist reincarnating a novel.... right.?' I thought.

'...'

'....What was the protagonist's name again...?' I thought as I tilted my head in confusion.

To this day, I have realized that I can only remember a quarter of the novel's story.

'....'

'...What's the point of reincarnating inside a novel when I can't even remember the whole entire story?' I thought dumbfoundedly.

Unlike the protagonist of the story, Normal people would usually forget about the plots and character names in the novel, which is like that for every normal person.

'....I shouldn't stand here for too long.' I thought as I quickly walked through the pathways.

The pathways in front of the school gave off a medieval-style feeling, Like an old fashioned and beautiful school that feels incredibly peaceful.

I continued on walking to the front entrance as I tried to come up with ideas inside my head.

This new profound knowledge which I suddenly got, gave me an inspiration of what i'll do. Despite probably forgetting this information by the next minute.

'..There must be characters from the novel right?' I thought.

The bell began to ring and i realized that i'll be entire late for my class. '!'

I rushed to find my classroom, Wandering around the huge academy and stumbled upon the school board with a map on it.

I memorized the map carefully and tried to find my classroom. Coincidentally and luckily, I was able to find it, Just right after I had forgotten what I had memorized.

As soon as I entered my classroom door, Students from particular places began to gather in one spot.

'What's going on..?' I thought.

I walked to a random student and asked about what was going on.

Student: "Oh, It's just the new famous student that got transferred here, and a lot of the girls are quite attracted to him because of his handsome looks." The student replied.

"The people here wanted to try and talk to him."

"Really?" I spoke as I tried to look at a closer glance from the crowd, Finally seeing the person's face clearly.

'Oh, He really is handsom-'

Suddenly, I felt another strike in my head.

'Hold on... Is that.. the protagonist of the novel?!'

The main character.. or protagonist, was supposed to have a cold attitude, But he must've been trying to cover up his cold expression by ignoring the students gathering him... Well, More like something that he doesn't usually care about in that kind of situation.

But at this particular moment, I never would've thought i would meet him this soon, especially when I transferred to the same classroom as him!

I tried to find a random classroom chair that has my designated name, and sat on it while wiggling around my fingers on the table. The crowd of students continued to make noises of excitement and enthusiasm.

Instructor:"Alright class, Please sit down." An instructor spoke as she walked inside the classroom.

All of the students sat on their chairs as they listened to their instructor.

The instructor sat by a nearby school chair in front of the board and immediately addressed the class.

Instructor: "Alright, Before we do our attendance, I would like to introduce myself."

Instructor Ann: "My name is Ann Willow, And I will be your classroom Instructor."

Instructor Ann: "Now that i have introduced myself, I'll do your attendance sheets now."

'That's it-?' I thought, Puzzled.

The teacher began to call out each of the students names. But speaking of names, I tried to recall the names of the characters i remembered.

'What was the protagonist's name again?...I think his name starts with 'Kwan'.. was it Kwan sung..? Or Kwan He-sung?... No.. I think it was Kwan Jihu right?' I began to ponder as I finally got it remembered.

'Yeah, his name is definitely Kwan Jihu.'

'But.. what was the protagonist's name after reincarnation..?' I continued to ponder once again.

As I tried to gather all of my braincells, The Instructor continued to address each student's name in attendance until he mentioned the protagonist's.

Instructor Ann: "Hallowood." (Who the heck names their child hallowood..?)

hallowood: "Present!"

Instructor Ann:"...Oh! Alexander Grace."

Alexander Grace:"Present."

Instructor Ann:"You've gotten quite tall since the last time i saw you, And very handsome aswell."

Alexander Grace(Protagonist): "mn." He replied back with a cold expression.

As i heard the protagonist's name, I instinctively remembered.

'Yeah, I think that was the protagonist's current name.'

I finally remembered the names of the protagonist, but that was only it.

'Now.. what were the other names of the other characters again..?' I continued to ponder more.

?: "Johnson..!"

Instructor Ann: "KIM JOHNSON!"

"Huh- Wha-, Oh.. uh, Present!" I mumbled as i waved my right hand suddenly.

Teacher Ann: "Finally... Kim Johnson, Please refrain yourself from getting distracted, alright?"

I was silent for a moment before answering; " ...Yes, ma'am."

Instructor Ann: "Alright, now that i have done the attendance. I will tell you what this school is like."

Instructor Ann: "As you can see, This isn't a normal school. This school is for the learnings of an Awakener. I think you already know the details of dungeons and Awakeners during your high school days."

'Oh that's right.'

During middle-high school times, middle schoolers learned the basic things of an awakener and its awakened powers, especially dungeons and the like.

Teachers learn those high school students before they graduate high school. It's better knowing the awareness of dangerous awakeners and dungeons than knowing nothing about them.

Since dungeons spawn in random places And people get awakened unknowingly.

This school is like a university mixed with a high school tension, except that this school is 10x harder than a university one.

Instructor Ann: "I already have a lot of expectations of you all, So once you're here now, I expect you all to behave, learn and work well." The instructor spoke diligently.

Instructor Ann: "You all will have early group projects, Many essays, Homework, dangerous dungeon exploration and Awakened Training during your time of learning in this Academy."

Instructor Ann: "So refrain from underestimating this place."

Instructor Ann: "After all, this isn't what you call "High School" anymore. This is an academy for the benefit of your own future, You should all be glad that your rich parents transferred you here!"

After the instructor finally announced her speech, She finally taught us about the format and ways of the academy, Including group subjects, etiquette and the like.

While the instructor rambled about the lessons, I tried to think of finding ways out of the novel.

'Since this is a novel, there should be characters that I should remember but...'

'Who are they again..?'

I confused myself from thinking as i got another strike on the head.

More fragments of memories in the novel came into my mind, But like before, It gave me a faint headache.

'Oh, I kinda remember now.'

'This novel is a reincarnation-genre novel right? which the protagonist reincarnates into the novel he read.'

The protagonist is an omniscient person and can memorize each single page of the novel he read.. but not entirely, he usually needs that techno-thing* that lets him remember the plots. (*referring to a system.) The entire opposite of me.

'The novel which the protagonist reincarnated in is named as "Awakened light."

'Despite that the actual name is 'novel reincarnation', He reincarnated in the novel he read; awakened light.'

'But... How did I even remember this information..? Was I given a purpose to remember this strange novel-like world? Am I, An also reincarnated being, supposed to do something about it?'

'hmm...' 'How confusing....' I thought as I continued to ponder silently.

Unfortunately, The more memories I try to remember, the more vague it becomes. It wasn't that clear and most of it is blank. Meaning I can only remember some of the characters and barely any of the plots.

'I guess I'm not a genius unlike the protagonist.' I thought as I sighed lightly.

'So.. What am i supposed to do with this kind of information?' I thought silently.

'Now that i know this world is a novel, I shouldn't really disturb any of the plots right?'

I was silent for a moment before saying anything; '...Yeah..'

'Maybe I shouldn't disturb any of the plots.'

'Now that I remembered, should i come up with a plan on how to avoid these kinds of people?'

'It shouldn't be that hard, I already forgot most of the characters anyway.. and I don't think they'll have to do anything with me since I'm probably peasant to them.'

'I think there should be a simple way... right?' I thought.

As I think of ways to this situation, The bell rang.

Teacher Ann: "Alright, Class dismissed."

Instructor Ann: "Oh I almost forgot, there should be no classes here for the whole entire day, so try and get your dorm room keys from under your tables."

Instructor Ann: "Explore the whole school if you all want to, but remember, go back to your dorm rooms before 6 pm, alright?"

Instructor Ann:"And there is a map with your designated dorm room keys, so if you get lost in the school, the map will guide you back to the student dormroom hallways."

'Dorm rooms.. I forgot there are dorm rooms in this novel.'

Each room represents one student, Since this school is extremely huge. Each student owns only one dorm room apart. The school knows each student's taste and specifically made a special room just for them.

With a bathroom, Kitchen, Bedroom and a special room which can match the students liking or preference and so on.

And each dorm room is like.. the size of my own room, except that it's twice as big as it should be.

As I got up and took the keys and map from under the chair, I then took my bag/luggage and went straight out of the room.

'Hm... I should go straight to the dormroom hallways, I wanna check out my dorm room' I thought, acting expressionless as usual.

But just like I said before, I truly went straight to the student dorm room halls, Which I was able to find by following the other students going there.

And once I found my designated dorm, I opened the door slightly. The room was so big and spacious, It got my eyes widened by a milimeter.. ( Expressionless face doesn't change one bit though. )

'this... really is the size of my house*' I thought, surprised. (*The whole entire dorm basically)

The room itself was mixed with the modern and baroque or medieval style.. The academy itself likes one of the old designs along with the modern, and it somehow fits quite well.

I looked around my dorm room quietly with an expressionless face.

I was honestly quite amazed.

I explored each room until I stumbled upon the special room.

'Wait... Is this a music room!?' I thought as i took a glance.

'It must've been the special room that the school prepared!' 'It's even well arranged!'

I went inside the room and took the first instrument I saw, Which is a guitar.

I then started to play a bit.

'I'll try the B cord...' '♪♪♪...'

'...' 'this school knows my taste.' I thought as my ahoge wiggled in excitement.

'Even the strings aren't stiff! That's a good thing.'

'I'm already amazed by the fact that this academy knows each taste of the students.' I thought as my eyes sparkled slightly.

As i put back the guitar, i took the luggage which I was told to bring from home and went inside my bedroom.

I then arranged my clothes and my things.

'Jeez, The Closet is so big...' I thought as I opened the Closet door

I began to arrange each of my clothes and put all of them inside the closet in order.

'It's like I didn't bring enough clothes, It didn't even fill up the entire thing!' I thought as I finished arranging.

I sat down on my bed and rethink the things of the novel.

'So apparently, i only remembered the characters and a few plots of it.' I thought as i rubbed my chin.

'...'

'....If i want to avoid them somehow and not disturb the storyline, i should come up with a plan... right?'

'It's probably a very easy way to avoid them.. But Just in case.'

I took my time and pondered as I finally got an idea; 'Oh!'
