>>King Matthias

"That was a splendid display of Holy Power," My Advisors stood in the Throne room arguing amongst themselves. Lyal stood amongst them, quietly listening.

"Your Majesty, the scale of her power was extraordinary."

"Every person within the palace walls was healed of whatever injury they had!"

"It's a miracle!"

"She's the true Saint! You can't imprison her!"

"But she tried to murder another saint!" The people were divided into two

"Saint Illaris has never shown this much power!"

"That doesn't mean Saint Amber shouldn't be punished!"

"She can be given a small punishment. And then we can let her go! It's not like Saint Illaris died."

"But she's in a coma! Because of a Saint! In times like these where miasma keeps spreading we shouldn't let acts like this go!"

"Exactly! The Miasma is spreading and you want to put our Saint in jail?"

"She has to be punished! Just because she's a saint, she shouldn't be allowed to try and kill others!"

"It might have been an accident like she claimed!"

The door opened, "High Priest Zoros has entered." The guard announced his entry and everyone looked at him as he entered.

Zoros was a senior priest, in his fifties. He wore his temple garments and had a sour expression on as he walked in, "You can't give a slap on the wrist to a criminal and let them go," Zoros, entered the throne room, "Saint Amber tried to kill our Saint, the symbol of our temple and our belief." He made his way to the middle of the room with his eyes on me, "If you let her go, you'll be spitting on every religious person."

"Amber is a saint too," I said,

"But not part of the temple," Zoros said, "Her origins are unknown."

"That doesn't change the fact that she is stronger than Illaris." I replied.

"What shouldn't change is her crime. If you let her go, it proves that the King does not care for the temple.

"We shouldn't be discriminating between the Saints, I get that you're angry because Saint Illaris was raised in the temple while Saint Amber seemed to have appeared out of nowhere, but we still need proper evidence to execute things."

"Attempted murder," Zoros said, "That's a sin!"

I let out a sigh. This has gotten out of hand. How did we even get to this point? I don't even care about this stuff. What bothers me is Hael

What could possibly have happened there? Hael is the strongest magician we've had in history, what could possibly reduce him to a state like that?!

A shudder went down my spine.

The door opened again, "The Tower Master Hael is here!" The guard announced his entry and everyone in the room quieted down and looked back to look at the Magic Master.

***

>>Hael

I wonder what made me so positive when I bet my last hope on Amber? When she called me, I knew she would heal me if I got to her

And she met my expectations.

I smiled, then my expressions turned soured as I walked through the hallways of the palace.

What a stupid decision this was. I didn't take the king as a clown. The butler who came to my room explained the whole situation to me.

The guard saw me as I approached the throne room. He then opened the door and announced my entry.

"The Tower Master Hael is here!" Everyone who was present in that room turned to look at me.

"Good Morning," I smiled at them, "It's quite lively here," I scanned the people there and my eyes settled on High Priest Zoros.

Oh?

I've heard he's quite devoted to the temple. He must hate the tower magicians since we took Amber for ourselves.

"Hael!" The King looked relieved when he saw me, "How are you feeling?"

"Better than ever," I replied, "I was healed by a Saint, after all."

The door opened again, "Hael!!" I heard Ophelia's voice.

"Princess Ophelia has entered!" The guard announced a little late.

Ophelia ran over to me and grabbed my arm, "Hael, are you alright?" She was looking at me as if she was worried. I stared back for a moment, then passed her a smile.

"Yes, I'm fine," I then looked at the king, "I want a private audience, Your Highness."

"We're the king's advisors-" The men in the room started but The King cut them off

"Fine, I'll grant it." He said, not letting the people argue about staying, "Gentlemen," He looked at everyone, "I'll call you back in once we're done talking."

The men grumbled but they couldn't do anything about it. They all gave me 'the eye' before leaving the room.

"Your Majesty," Zoros gave Matthias a final look, "Please heed my words," He looked at the king intensely, "The temple does not want any ill will with the crown."

Matthias closed his eyes and nodded in defeat and Zoros turned around to leave as well.

The King looked at his kids then, "You should go to,"

"Oh no," I raised my hand next to my chest, "It's fine if they stay." Ophelia's eyes sparkled. The door behind us closed down and it was just the royals left with me, "Ophelia," I looked at the princess, "Why don't you go and stand with Prince Lyal."

"But I want to stay with you!"

"I need to talk to all of you, so it's better I face all of you too."

"Oh," She nodded, "Okay!" She finally let my arm go and ran to Lyal

"I'm really glad you survived that, Hael," The King

"Yes," I nodded, "So am I," I looked at all three of them, "But you all seemed to have created quite a mess behind my back."

"What mess?" Ophelia asked

"You have Saint Amber in the dungeon? For what?"

"She's being held there for suspicion of attacking the saint." The King replied

"She's the saint herself." I answered

"Hael, she attacked Illaris!" Ophelia said, "And the doctor said she's near death. That's why she's not waking up. This is a serious offense!" Her tone turned rude.

"Princess," This was getting on my nerves but I still chose to speak calmly, "I would advise you to keep your mouth shut. You tend to spew a lot of nonsense." My words made me speechless and her eyes went wide.

"Hael, you're being rude-" Lyal started but I cut him off

"Take her out," I said, "I know she didn't do it."

"You don't know that!" Ophelia spoke again

"You weren't here to see it." King Matthias said

"And you did, Your Highness?" I looked straight into his eyes, then I looked at Ophelia, "Or did you see it?"

"I did see them fighting!" She claimed, "And I saw the Saint Amber push Saint Illaris! The light glowed out of Illaris's body and she fainted." She glared at me, "She clearly did something to Illaris!"

"With your own eyes?" I looked straight into her eyes and that unnerved her

"W-well, my maid saw it, so it's the same as seeing it myself."

"She has no reason to do anything to Illaris." I said

"She must have done it out of jealousy." Lyal said and I turned to look at her

"Jealousy? And why would you think that?" I asked

"Just saying." He looked at me with suspicion, "Illaris was doing so well compared to her. Saint Amber lost pretty badly at the competition. It's only natural to assume she got jealous."

"Amber did not want to win, so I don't see your point."

"She didn't want to win?" The king added

"Yes," I smirked, "She despises the elite class after all."

The king snickered, "So, you're saying she never had the intention of winning."

"No, and so there is no need for her to try and harm the other saint."

"Maybe she harmed her for some other reason." Lyal said, "A more personal reason, I dare say."

We stared at each other.

"I highly doubt that," I replied, "There is no personal relationship involved here, after all." I looked at the King, "Your Majesty, if you won't oblige. I have no reason not to act up "

Matthias scoffed, "And what will you do?"

I smiled, "I won't need to do anything. I'll just sit and watch the whole kingdom burn."

!!!

"Are you threatening the royal family, Tower Master?" The king's tone turned grim

"Am I?" I smirked,

"You'd burn the kingdom for a girl?"

"The saint," I corrected him, "And yes, I would burn it for her." My answer shocked them, "But I won't need to, you're going to destroy your kingdom yourself."

All of them frowned, "You-" the king stopped as soon as he started, "You saw something on your expedition, didn't you?"

"I'm sure the king isn't a fool. Do you think just anything can harm me?"

"..." All of them went quiet. I know for a fact that the way I returned and how I looked then made everyone nervous.

"What did you learn?" The King asked.

"Why should I tell you anything?" I replied

"You're a subject of this kingdom. You will answer when you're asked." Matthias said

"I will tell you when you release the Saint, unharmed, and free her of all your stupid charges."

"No!" Ophelia said, "She deserves to be in jail!" I glanced at her

Ah, this stupid little girl.

I looked at her, then looked back at the king, "I'm saying this just to remind you, taking her away on my own is no trouble for me," I took a step back, "I am the strongest mage, any other country will welcome me with open arms." I smirked, "I come with a saint, they'll worship us."

The royals got their nerves pulled

"You!" The King grabbed the arms of the chair in anxiety as he leaned forward, "You'll leave Aurelias?"

"I didn't take you for a fool, your highness. Locking your biggest asset in the dungeon?" I shook my head in disappointment, "Might I remind you, she's not just a saint." I looked at Lyal, "She's also mine." I saw his lip twitch, "I will give you one hour to make it right" I began to walk away, "If Amber is not released unharmed," I didn't complete my sentence. I let them speculate and turned to leave.

"Wait!! Hael!!" The King stood up from his throne and I stopped to look back at him, "We need a reason to get her out." He looked into my eyes, "A proper reason." I smirked

Good Boy

"Daddy!" The color from Opehlia's face began to fade.

"Call the guards in," I said, "And tell them to search Lena's quarters."

"What?" Ophelia frowned, "W-why would you ask that?"

"Guards!!" The King yelled and the door opened. Four guards came rushing in.

"Yes!" They made their way to him, passing me as I leisurely stood there, and then kneeled down, "Your Majesty!"

"Search the maid who accused the Saint. Look through her quarters and don't leave anything unturned!"

"Yes!" The replied in harmony

"Daddy!" Ophelia yelled but her father ignored her.

"Oh!" I raised my index finger, "I think you should definitely do a blood test," I smiled, "It seems like she's not in the right state of her mind."

"Bring the maid here," The king looked at the guards, "Drag her here and have the physician called. I don't want a second wasted. GO,"

"Yes!" The all stood up and ran past me

"Daddy!" Ophelia looked at her father, "Lena isn't lying! What point will it be to search her room?! It's not like she did anything!"

The King looked at his daughter, "Well, we'll find out soon enough."

I turned around to leave as I let out a chuckle.

Of course, I came to the King after preparing everything. As if I would allow My Lady to be treated like that. She's mine, how dare anyone else try to harm her.

The door opened and I left the throne room.
