THE CALIFORNIA SUN WAS BRIGHT IN THE AFTERNOON TODAY.
The beach was lit up by the yellow hot rays, blue horizon meeting a deeper cerulean by the horizon.
Ah, where to begin?
The Hard Deck was completely shut off, for reasons unaware to everyone but the locals and basically anyone who'd heard the names Bradshaw and Kazansky.
As she stood before the mirror, there wasn't any nervousness. No anxiety. Pure happiness, lit up Faith Kazansky's face, as she looked at herself in white.
Yes, you read it right.
Bradley had proposed after exactly ten years from when they first met, on the very beach, surrounded by the very same people Faith calls her family.
Life as each other's one and only was truly surreal.
It was unbelievable, even, at times for either of them, finding themselves simply staring at each other's faces with those crooked smiles they'd reserved only for one another, even in the midst of work.
Eight years of pining after one another, eight years of waiting to hold each other's hand, eight long years. And now, they had forever.
And they wouldn't have it any other way.
The door opens with a click from behind her, and in walks Sarah, immediately holding a hand to her heart when she lays her eyes on Faith.
"Sweetheart, you look beautiful." Sarah places a hand on Faith's shoulder, as she looks over to her mother, simple joy splattered across her face.
Faith says nothing, closing her eyes when Sarah leans up to place a kiss on her forehead, cupping her face. Sarah brushes a hair behind Faith's ear, shaking her head as her tears begin to glisten.
"Mom..." Faith feels tears in her own eyes as she pulls Sarah in a hug, wrapping her arms around the shorter woman's back.
"Your father would have been so proud of you, dear. So proud." Faith nods, pulling away as she wipes the tears from her mother's eyes.
A knock at the door sounds, and Natasha's head peeks in through the open space, "Fae, it's time.." And then her eyes look up and over Faith's figure and smiling face, "Damn, girl, Bradshaw better lock it down quick before I get you running outta here!"
Faith chuckles, pulling Nat in a hug when she nears her, whispering, "Just say the word, babe!"
"No, but seriously, Fae, you look really, really, really good." Natasha's voice wavers with each and every repeat of the last word. Faith shakes her head, smiling as she pats the younger woman's back.
Another knock, and her uncle's head peeks in. "Arch, it's ti- "
Pete does nothing, freezing in his spot, as he pushes the door open slowly, walking in step by step towards the to-be.
"Faith..." Mav's face becomes serious, extremely, as he raises his brow with nothing but stoic-ness in his expression, "If he ever hurts you-"
"Speaking of," Faith cuts in, brows raising and lips curling as she looks at him, "Shouldn't we get going?"
AS HE STOOD OUT READY ON THE BEACH, BRADLEY WASN'T ANXIOUS THE TINIEST BIT.
He was marrying his best friend. Someone he'd loved since the first time he'd seen her, someone he'd keep wanting to love as he has from back then, and right now, to their deaths which may part them. He couldn't wait to officially take Faith off the market and seal it off.
Jake stood off to his left as his best man. So did Bob, so did Reuben, so did Mickey, and so did Javy.
And there she was.
One hand in Mav's, and the other in Sarah's, there she was, walking down the aisle in that beautiful white dress she looked ethereal in.
The mix of orange and yellow lit up her face and dress in the brightest of tinges. Her hair was pulled back in a styled bun, a few stray strands contouring the outline of her face, highlighting those emerald green eyes he'd memorized and loved for so long.
His lips twitch, hand brought up to wipe his mouth, before the tiniest of sobs escape him. He wipes a tear with his fingers, smiling at a chuckling Faith who was trying not to cry herself.
The second she stands before the steps with Mav and Sarah beside her, Mav is giving him a stoic look, pointing a finger at him, "You, take care of my girl."
Bradley can only nod in surprise, extending his hand out for a now fully laughing Faith to hold on to as she makes her way up the two steps and stand right before him.
Standing right before him, it felt unreal. Finally, finally, the day was here, and not an hour later, they were going to be married. For however long, for the rest of their time, for how much time they had with each other, for each other. This was it.
"Dearly beloved. We are gathered here today, to celebrate the union, of Faith Wilson-Kazansky, and Bradley Bradshaw." Bob begins, smiling at the both of them standing before him, patting their shoulders to catch their attention from each other.
But they don't budge.
"You look beautiful, Fae. So beautiful." Bradley whispers, leaning forward, either of them chuckling when their noses nuzzle against each other, faces scrunching and contorting in delight.
The next several minutes, all the both of them could do was look at each other. Just staring into each other's eyes, goofy, dazed smiles on their faces and expressions, tilted heads and it all.
Finally.
Finally, Faith was going to be part of his forever, which was meant to be from the moment they saw each other, yet will be confirmed and in written legal form just soon.
Finally, Bradley was going to be part of her forever, meant to be from that day they'd crashed into each other their first day of training to be what they were, with each other.
The following days would follow with happiness, some tears, but pure joy at being able to find comfort in each other, and happiness too.
This was it.
Their happiness, and it was finally here.
"Faith. I, I don't, shit, baby, I don't even know where to begin. I met you at a time where I didn't have many people I felt like I could trust. And you? You were right there from day one. Right there." Bradley's hands find her, fingers entangled as he tries to keep his tears in his eyes.
"Fae, you are, you are my everything. You're my, my best friend, my confidante, my love, my all of the above. All I want to do, is live this life, holding your hand, there by your side. Always." His hand squeezes hers, as she steps forward, keeping her own tears inside.
"From that day, till today, till however long it takes for death to part us, honey, I swear, I won't ever leave you alone. I love you. I love you, and I'm not planning on letting go of you, anytime soon. It's just you and me. Just you and me." Bradley ends his vows, pressing a quick but lingering peck on Faith's forehead.
He looks down at her when he feels her shaking under him, only to find her eyes full of tears as she looked at him.
"Damn it, I knew I should've gone first!" Faith's head is shaking under his lips, and Bradley chuckles when she looks up at him through her lashes, tears ready to escape from her eyes as she gently slaps his shoulder.
"God, Bradley." Faith breathes, letting out a whiff of air as she shakes her head.
Her hands find his once again, and she squeezes his hand thrice, making him smile further and wider.
"Bradley. Honey. Where do I begin? You crashed into my life, literally. You mesmerized me with those beautiful eyes of yours, and then the piano? Come on, what a package!" Chuckles go around the small venue, some leaning forward.
Bradley looks down at his shoes, hiding the maroon flush rushing up to his cheeks, squeezing her hand back, smiling ever so brightly.
"I waited for you. Eight years, I waited, and I waited. Until you came back into my life in a way I never thought you would. And it all just came back to me. This rush, this love, which just came running towards me, and I couldn't stop it from taking me under." Bradley smiles down sheepishly at her, thumb brushing against the skin between her index and thumb.
"But Bradley, I swear, it had never felt, so right. You're my best friend, my hope, my belief. But mostly, honey, you're my love. And I can't wait to spend all this time together, with you, holding your hand." She squeezes his hand further tighter, smiling wider when he presses her hand against his more firmly.
"I love you, Bradley Bradshaw, and I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with you." Faith squeezes his hand back thrice once again, and he returns it, crooked smile on either of their faces as they get closer and closer to the moment all of them were waiting for.
"So then, by the power vested in me, by the state of Nevada," Bob pauses for dramatic effect, holding his hands out to the side like a magician conducting his final act.
"I pronounce you, Faith Wilson-Kazansky, and you, Bradley Bradshaw, married! You may kiss the bride!" The cheeky sandy-blonde wasted no time in wrapping his arms tightly around Faith's waist, pulling her impossibly close to him, pressing their chests together, capturing her lips with his.
She leans into the kiss, mostly at its intensity, and the way his arm shifted slowly, incredibly slowly, from her waist and up her back, in a non-rapid entrance, until her shoulders, making her shudder further more into him.
Her hand find his right cheek, the other entangled in the curls by the nape of his neck as he groans at the feeling, cupping her cheek with his palm, brushing his thumb back and forth.
Then suddenly, he dips her downwards, making her gasp, and he takes the chance, pulling his lips from hers and pressing several kisses by her cheek and down her neck, nuzzling his nose in her neck, smiling when the noise of the crowd cheering gets louder and louder.
His forehead presses against hers, and hazel green finds emerald eyes, forever seeing the depth of them increase.
Their faces are pulled into crooked smiles, standing straight up, yet still in that position, as they close their eyes in the bliss of the moment.
She presses one more peck against his lips, both of them smiling into the kiss leaving them both shuddering for each other's touch.
"I'm never leaving you again, honey." Bradley whispers against her lips, her hands wrapping around his neck and pressing his head against hers, his hands going around her waist and locking her in place.
Faith smiles at the sense of belonging, pressing a lingering peck on his lips once again, "As if I'd ever let you leave, honey."
