The septuplets were gathered around the dining table with their chatter and laughter filling the warm cozy room.
Taufan and Blaze were swapping exaggerated stories about their day, their energy so infectious that even solar occasionally glanced up from his plate to comment.
"And then I swear, he slipped and tried to play it off like it was part of his plan!" Blaze said while practically bouncing in his seat with taufan who laughed so hard he almost spilled his drink.
"Blaze you attract the weirdest situations! I want to meet this guy just to see how he manages life" taufan comment while scopping another spoon into his mouth.
"Trust me, you don't" Solar muttered with his tone dry but amused before he push his glasses up his nose.
Across the table, Thorn sat happily while munching on his dinner, his cheeks puffed out like a squirrel storing nuts.
Every now and then his bright eyes flicked to his brothers and occasionally giggled at Blaze's antics, his innocence adding to the lighthearted atmosphere.
Ice as usual stayed quiet while leaning back in his chair as he observed everything with his usual calm demeanor.
Halilintar at the head of the table, mirrored Ice's silence, his posture straight as he methodically ate his food while his sharp eyes flicking from brother to brother, even though he didn't say much, the faintest hint of a smile flickered across his face as he watched the others.
The room was bright with laughter, the kind of warmth that only came from being surrounded by family and for a moment, it felt like nothing could disturb their peace.
Well that until Blaze who unable to help himself, spoke up.
"Oh by the way! there's a bazaar downtown tonight!" he exclaimed, his grin wide.
"We have to check it out!" He excitedly said while looking at each one of them before his gaze land on thorn who look a little confuse.
"Bazaar?" Thorn asked while tilting his head.
"What's a bazaar?"
"It's like a festival" Blaze explained enthusiastically.
"There will be food stalls, games, music, and fireworks! You will love it Thorn"
"Fireworks?" Thorn's eyes lit up and he immediately turned to Halilintar.
"Can we go Hali? Please?" Halilintar frowned slightly before setting his utensils down.
"It's late and it will be crowded, It's not worth the trouble" his answer however gain alot of protest from a certain trio.
"Aw come on Hali!" Blaze groaned dramatically.
"You never want to do anything fun" Taufan leaned forward, grinning mischievously.
"It's just one night, don't be so stiff and i know you could use a break" Taufan tried to persuade their oldest brother as hali raises his brows before he sigh.
"No" Halilintar said firmly while crossing his arms.
"If you want, you can go but i am not joining" Blaze exchanged a glance with Taufan and the two of them smirked in unison.
Then they both turned to Thorn who immediately understood what to do as together, the three of them unleashed their most powerful weapon
The puppy eyes.
"Please Abang? Come with us?" Thorn said with his extra wide eyes shimmering with hope.
"Yeah Hali, don't be such a buzzkill" Taufan added, clasping his hands dramatically while also showing his best puppy eyes before blaze leaned closer, his voice dripping with mock innocence.
"Don't you want to see us being happy together, big brother?" Halilintar sighed deeply, his expression stoic as he tried to ignore the trio's pleading faces.
"Puppy eyes aren't going to work on me" he said firmly, though his resolve wavered for just a moment.
But the final blow came when he glanced around the table and saw the others, gempa was looking at him with a quiet smile clearly on board with the idea.
Ice leaning back lazily, raised a single eyebrow as if to say, Why not? Even Solar who are usually the voice of reason was glancing at him with an expression that hinted he wouldn't mind going either.
Halilintar closed his eyes and exhaled sharply, he knew he was outnumbered, and his weak spot for his brothers was painfully obvious.
"Fine" he muttered at last.
"But if anything goes wrong, you are cleaning the house for a month" Blaze shot up from his chair, throwing his arms in the air.
"Yes! You are the best Hali!" Thorn clapped his hands together, beaming with joy.
"Thank you Abang!" Even Taufan cheered as he throwing an arm around Blaze.
"Mission accomplished!" Halilintar pinched the bridge of his nose while muttering something about how they were going to be the death of him but he couldn't hide the small, fond smile tugging at his lips.
As the septuplets finish eating and cleared the table, all of them got up to get ready to leave, the house was alive with the sound of hurried footsteps and the occasional call for misplaced jackets or shoes.
Blaze was the last one to emerge from his room, his usual mischievous grin firmly in place but it was what he was wearing that caught everyone’s attention, a sleeveless shirt and cargo shorts.
Ice who are leaning casually against the wall by the front door, immediately frowned with his ocean blue eyes raked over Blaze's outfit before he crossed his arms.
"Seriously?" Ice said with a deadpan look.
"You do realize it’s freezing out there right?" Blaze waved him off with a smirk.
"It’s not that bad! I will be fine" he happily said before putting both hand on his hip.
"Besides, I will keep moving so I won’t feel it" Ice raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed.
"You say that now but we both know how this ends" ice said while pintching his nose.
"You will be shivering in ten minutes and begging for someone’s jacket" The other brothers turned to look at Blaze, clearly unimpressed, even Thorn who usually backed Blaze up, shook his head.
"It’s going to be cold Abang Blaze, you should wear something warmer" he said, his voice gentle but firm before Taufan who already bundled in a hoodie, chimed in.
"Yeah, don’t make us all suffer because you wanted to show off your nonexistent muscles" Blaze gasped before he place a hand over his chest in mock offense.
"Nonexistent? Excuse me?! these are prime muscles Taufan!" He flexed dramatically but no one looked convinced until gempa who are pulling on a scarf, chuckled softly.
"Prime or not, they are not going to keep you warm out there, just put on a jacket Blaze" Even Solar who just finish adjusting his glasses, immedietly checked the weather on his phone and added another reason on why he should change.
"The temperature’s dropping fast tonight, it’s better to be prepared than to ruin the night because you were too stubborn" halilintar who was finishing lacing up his boots, glanced over and sighed.
"You heard them Blaze, Either you change or you are staying home" Blaze groaned before he look around at his brothers, hoping for some support.
But Ice’s unyielding stare, Gempa’s calm insistence, Thorn’s innocent agreement, and even Solar’s logical reasoning were too much, and with a dramatic sigh, he threw his hands up in defeat.
"Fine fine! You guys win, I will grab a jacket" he pout before turning around.
"Good choice" Ice muttered as Blaze stomped back to his room.
When Blaze returned a few minutes later, grudgingly wearing a hoodie over his shirt which manage to cause Ice to smirked.
"See? That wasn’t so hard, was it?"
"Don’t push it" Blaze grumbled but his brothers’ laughter quickly turned his sulking into a grin.
As they finally stepped out into the chilly night air, Blaze couldn’t help but mutter under his breath,
"It’s not even that cold" But then the first cold gust of wind hit and he instinctively tugged the hoodie closer which cause Ice to chuckled softly.
"Told you so"
"Oh shut up"
"Nope"
"Meanie!"
The septuplets burst into laughter at Blaze’s playful grumbling, their voices filling the quiet street as they began their journey to the bazaar.
The chilly air nipped at their cheeks, but the warmth of their camaraderie kept the cold at bay.
Halilintar led the way with Thorn clinging to his hand, skipping every few steps as he hummed a cheerful tune.
Blaze and Taufan walked just behind, still engaged in their usual playful banter, while gempa, solar and ice brought up the rear, the former tugging his scarf tighter while the latter seemed completely unbothered by the cold.
"Do you think the bazaar will have that thing we tried last time?" Blaze asked before nudging at Taufan.
"What thing?"
"The one with the noodles in a bucket!" Blaze exclaimed with his eyes lighting up.
"Oh that! I forgot about it, you almost set your mouth on fire with the spicy sauce" Taufan said with a grin causing blaze to rolled his eyes.
"Why does everyone always bring up the spicy sauce? It wasn’t that bad!"
"You cried Abang" Thorn piped up innocently, glancing up at Blaze with wide eyes causing blaze to flailed his arms.
"I did not cry! That was sweat!" Taufan leaned closer to Thorn and whispered loudly,
"It was totally tears"
"I can hear you!" Blaze snapped causing Thorn to giggle, Gempa walking calmly to their left while chuckled softly.
"Let’s just agree that Blaze can’t handle spicy food and move on" Blaze process to glared at him.
"Why do you have to insult me like that?"
"It’s not an insult" Solar chimed in as he pushing up his glasses.
"It’s just a fact backed by overwhelming evidence" Blaze groaned before throwing his hands in the air.
"I can’t believe I am being betrayed by my own family"
"It’s called honesty" Ice added lazily, not even looking at Blaze.
"Honesty is overrated!" Blaze shot back.
"Not when it’s about your spice tolerance" Taufan teased while throwing an arm around Blaze’s shoulders, Halilintar sighed from the front of the group.
"Okay stop teasing him, We are almost there and I don’t want anyone wandering off" Thorn immediately perked up, bouncing on his heels.
"How far is it, Hali?" Halilintar glanced down at him.
"Just a little further" Thorn nodded eagerly, his excitement almost palpable.
"I can’t wait to see the fireworks!"
"Same here" Taufan said while smiling at Thorn before turning to Blaze.
"You better not embarrass us at the games though, last time you knocked over an entire booth trying to throw a ring" Blaze groaned again while covering his face.
"Why do you all keep bringing up the past?"
"Because it’s funny" Solar said dryly.
Their laughter carried them the rest of the way and soon, the warm glow of the bazaar’s lights came into view. The festive music and chatter of the crowd grew louder as they approached with Thorn practically vibrated with excitement.
The bazaar was alive with color and sound, the scent of roasted meat, sweet pastries, and spices wafting through the air. The septuplets paused at the entrance, taking it all in before Blaze clapped his hands together.
"Alright boys! Let’s make this a night to remember!"
"Just don’t make it memorable for the wrong reasons" Halilintar warned though there was a faint smile on his face.
Thorn immediately tugged at Halilintar’s hand with his wide eyes sparkling as he pointed to a stall with strange glowing candy.
"What’s that? Can we try it Hali?" Thorn asked, practically bouncing on his toes, Halilintar glanced at the stall then at Thorn’s hopeful face and sighed.
"Alright but just one, we don’t know what’s in it" Blaze was already darting toward a booth where a vendor was flipping what looked like pancakes but with colorful toppings that swirled and bubbled like liquid rainbows.
"Check this out!" Blaze exclaimed, waving the others over.
"It’s called Bubble Pancakes! It looks weird but it smells amazing!" Taufan peered over Blaze’s shoulder with his nose wrinkling slightly.
"Weird? It looks like someone spilled paint on a pancake"
"Only one way to find out if it’s good!" Blaze grinned, slapping a few coins on the counter and a moment later, he was holding a plate of the colorful treat.
"Who’s brave enough to try it first?" Blaze ask while raising the said food on top of his head.
"Not me" Solar said while adjusting his glasses.
"It’s practically glowing, food shouldn’t glow" Gempa chuckled and took the first bite, he paused with his face turn thoughtful before breaking into a wide grin.
"It’s tastes like honey and fruit mixed together" Encouraged, Thorn eagerly grabbed a piece, while Taufan followed with a shrug.
"Alright I am in, if gempa like it then i will too" Meanwhile Ice stood by a stall offering drinks served in cups shaped like miniature cauldrons, curious, he tilted his head.
"What’s this?" he asked the vendor.
"Magical Mist Tea!" the vendor declared.
"It’s cold and steams when you drink it" Ice smirked slightly, intrigued before he ordered a cup, he took a sip and true to the vendor’s word, a cloud of cool mist escaped his mouth, he raised an eyebrow and turned to Solar.
"You would like this, very scientific" Solar after some hesitation ordered one for himself and immediately became fascinated, muttering about the possible use of dry ice.
"This is genius" he said, sipping and watching the mist with a small, amused smile.
As they continued exploring, halilintar found himself standing near a stall selling something labeled Dragon Noodles, which were served in what looked like small buckets. The vendor warned it was incredibly spicy, but Blaze was already pushing forward.
"I can handle it" Blaze declared confidently completely ignoring Taufan’s laugh.
"You sure about that?" Taufan asked with a teasing grin.
"Last time you tried spicy food-"
"Don’t remind me!" Blaze interrupted, waving him off before he confidently holding his chopsticks like a pro.
The vendor handed him a steaming bucket of noodles, the spicy aroma practically punching everyone in the face, blaze inhaled deeply, his grin growing wider.
"Alright, watch and learn my dear brothers, this is how you handle spice!" With everyone watching, he grabbed a generous portion of the fiery red noodles and stuffed it into his mouth.
The moment it hit his tongue, his expression froze and a second later, his face turned bright red, tears welled up in his eyes, and he started fanning his mouth furiously.
"Hot! HOT! FIRE!" Blaze gasped while waving at the vendor.
"WATER, PLEASE!" The others burst into laughter as Blaze chugged a glass of water and grabbed another.
"I thought you could handle it!" Taufan teased and slapping Blaze on the back.
"It’s...it’s defective! Too spicy for normal humans!" Blaze coughed, halilintar raised an eyebrow, his arms crossed.
"It’s just noodles blaze, How bad could it be?" With a mix of curiosity and skepticism, Halilintar grabbed Blaze’s chopsticks and twirled some noodles around them, ignoring Blaze’s weak protests of Don’t do it abang and took a bite.
The others waited, watching for a reaction but Halilintar simply chewed, his expression unchanging and after swallowing, he looked at the vendor.
"This is it? This is what you call spicy?" The vendor looked mildly offended.
"It’s our hottest dish, young man" his word however only make halilintar shrugged.
"Not bad, I had spicier sambal back home" Blaze gawked at his comment.
"HOW are you not dying?!" Taufan not wanting to be outdone, grabbed the chopsticks from Hali's hand with a smirk.
"If hali can handle it, so can I" he declared while twirling a large portion of the noodles and popped them into his mouth with a smug look.
One chew. Two chews. And then-
"WHAAAAT?!" Taufan yelled with his voice rising several octaves, his face turned as red as the noodles as he grabbed his throat dramatically.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN 'NOT SPICY?!' IT’S LIKE LAVA IN MY MOUTH!" He scrambled for Blaze’s leftover water, nearly spilling it as he gulped it down, blaze who are still recovering wheezed out a laugh.
"Karma bro! Karma!" Halilintar watched them both with a faint smirk and shaking his head.
"Amateurs" Taufan now fanning his mouth with his hands glared at Halilintar.
"How... how are you not breathing fire right now?! Do you even have taste buds?!"
"Maybe you two are just weak" Halilintar replied nonchalantly, twirling more noodles onto the chopsticks as both blaze and Taufan are still fanning their mouths, gulping down water as if their lives depended on it.
Halilintar casually eating blaze's bowl of noodles, seemingly unfazed like he just eat some rice with red sauce, gempa who been watching the chaos unfold, leaned toward their oldest brother with a curious look.
"Can I try some?” he asked, Halilintar raised an eyebrow and pausing mid bite.
"You sure about that? It’s spicy"
"I can handle it" Gempa replied calmly and without a word, Halilintar twirled some noodles onto his chopsticks and held them out.
"Here" Gempa leaned forward and took the offered bite, he chewed slowly with his expression unreadable while blaze and Taufan leaned in, watching for the inevitable reaction but after a moment, Gempa swallowed and only tilted his head thoughtfully.
"Huh, It is a little spicy" Blaze and Taufan froze with their jaws dropping in unison.
"A LITTLE?!" Blaze exclaimed.
"What kind of iron stomach do you have?!" Taufan added, throwing his hands up, halilintar smirked faintly before setting down his chopsticks.
From the side, Ice, Solar, and Thorn were watching while eating their own food.
"Why do they keep torturing themselves?" Solar mumbled, poking at his bowl of rice.
"Pride" Ice replied lazily, sipping on his drink.
"Pure, chaotic pride" Thorn giggled and clapped his hands, Blaze huffed and glaring at Halilintar.
"You did that on purpose! Feeding him just to make us look bad!" Halilintar shrugged.
"Not my fault you two can’t handle a little heat" Blaze crossed his arms, muttering,
"This is so unfair" he pout while gempa just grinned and twirling another bite of noodles as if nothing happened.
The seven brothers process to wandered deeper into the bustling bazaar, their arms increasingly weighed down by bags of food and trinkets. The aroma of spices, sizzling meats, and sweet desserts filled the air, overwhelming their senses.
"Okay, no more food!" Halilintar declared as he tried to balance three bags of skewers, dumplings, and grilled fish in one arm.
"But we haven’t tried that Thai sticky rice!" Taufan exclaimed, already heading toward the stall.
"And those Korean corndogs!" Blaze added while practically dragging Thorn along as he darted to the next stall which cause Halilintar to groaned.
"We already have enough for a feast" he pinch his throbbing forehead before he saw how solar been looking at another stall.
"Solar stop looking at the takoyaki stall like that" Solar blinked innocently while clutching a bag of his mochi.
"I wasn’t looking!"
"You totally were" Ice deadpanned, munching on a freshly bought onigiri.
"But hey, since we are already here, might as well grab some" While Halilintar argued with Blaze about budgeting, Gempa tried to mediate.
"We can always share everything, no need to hoard food!"
"Sharing means I get less" Blaze muttered under his breath.
"Blaze!"
In the chaos, Thorn wandered off due to him being drawn by a colorful display of Thai desserts, he pointed excitedly at the bright blue butterfly pea drinks and rainbow colored rice cakes.
"Where’s Thorn?" Blaze suddenly ask as he scanned the crowd.
"Uh oh" Taufan muttered while looking around.
"Found him!" Gempa called out, running to the dessert stall where thorn was happily chatting with the vendor, who found his enthusiasm endearing, halilintar stomped over and grab thorn arm.
"You can’t wander off like that"
"But look!" Thorn held up a bag of desserts.
"Pretty!" Halilintar sighed at the innocent answer.
"Fine, let’s sit down somewhere before someone else gets lost"
.
.
.
.
The brothers finally found a cluster of picnic tables in the center of the bazaar, they piled their haul onto the table, the sheer amount of food drawing amused stares from nearby patrons as blaze wasted no time grabbing a corndog.
"Okay, first to finish wins!"
"No one’s racing!" gempa scolded, swiping the corndog away, solar poked at another plate of spicy noodles, his face skeptical.
"Are we sure this isn’t going to set my mouth on fire?"
"Only one way to find out!" Taufan said, slurping the noodles and immediately coughing.
"Spicy! Spicy!" Gempa handed him a drink while Ice chuckled.
"You brought that on yourself, you should learn your lesson after that dragon noodles" As the brothers settled in, chaos resumed.
Blaze accidentally spilled soy sauce on Halilintar’s lap, causing a mini shouting match, thorn smeared mango sticky rice on his cheek, prompting Taufan to laugh so hard he fell off the bench.
Solar ever the neat one tried to clean up the mess, only to get doused with a spilled butterfly pea drink.
By the time they finished their feast, their table was a battlefield of wrappers, sticks, and crumbs, despite the mess, all seven brothers were happy, their stomachs full and their spirits high.
"This" Taufan said, leaning back with a content sigh.
"was totally worth it" Halilintar groaned and looking at the state of his clothes.
"Next time we are bringing napkins, Lots of napkins"
As the chaos finally settled, the septuplets found themselves sprawled around the picnic table, the remains of their feast scattered like the aftermath of a great battle.
Halilintar sat upright, wiping his hands with a tattered napkin while the others lounged around him, their energy spent.
Gempa was the first to lean against Halilintar’s side, his expression relaxed and a small smile playing on his lips.
"That was fun" he said softly.
"Though I think Blaze and Taufan might regret their spicy choices tomorrow in the toilet" Halilintar chuckled before shaking his head.
"They deserve it after all the trouble they caused tonight"
"Hey!" Taufan protested weakly, though he was already leaning against Halilintar’s other side, his eyelids drooping.
"It was worth it... I think" Blaze, lying on the ground near them, groaned.
"Speak for yourself... My mouth is still on fire" he complain before he sigh.
"Hali, you are like a walking mystery, How did you eat those noodles without flinching?” Halilintar smirked faintly as he ruffling Taufan’s hair.
"You are just weak at spice" he insult while Thorn decided to lay down on Halilintar’s lap with his hand clutching a small bag of rainbow colored candies he had insisted on keeping.
His eyes were half closed as he popped one into his mouth, ice stretched out nearby, resting his head on his folded arms, a soft yawn escaping his lips.
"I will admit that this was worth coming out for" he said calmly before he gaze at his brothers slightly.
"The bazaar are fun but watching Blaze and Taufan suffer was the real highlight"
"Hey!" Taufan and Blaze protested in unison, though neither had the energy to argue further, solar adjusted his glasses, sitting cross legged beside them.
The youngest seem to smile faintly as he watch the star above them while Gempa patted Thorn’s head gently.
A comfortable silence fell over them as they gazed up at the sky and then, without warning, the first burst of fireworks lit up the night, scattering bright colors across the heavens. Thorn gasped, his tiredness momentarily forgotten as he pointed.
"Look! Fireworks!" he exclaimed, his voice filled with wonder.
The others sat up slightly, their gazes fixed on the sky, the dazzling display painted their faces in hues of red, blue, and gold.
Blaze and Ice nudged each other, grinning at the sheer beauty of the moment while Solar quietly muttered about the science behind fireworks, earning an amused nudge from Gempa.
Halilintar looked down at his brothers, each of them relaxed and content despite the earlier chaos, taufan leaned his head on Halilintar’s shoulder and Gempa rested his chin on Halilintar’s other side with their breaths slow and even.
Thorn was completely at ease, curled up on his lap like a kitten, blaze and Ice were sprawled out nearby while Solar sat with his knees pulled up, his glasses reflecting the brilliant colors above.
For a moment, Halilintar allowed himself to feel the weight of their bond, the strength that came from being together. Despite the teasing, the chaos, and the endless arguments, this was what mattered most.
"We have got a good time here, don’t we?" he murmured, more to himself than anyone else.
"Yeah, we do" Gempa replied, his voice soft but filled with conviction before Blaze raised a hand weakly, pointing at the sky.
"Hey look! That one’s red, just like the noodles that almost killed me!" The group burst into laughter, fill with warm and full of life, carrying over the noise of the fireworks.
As the final burst of light faded, leaving the sky full of smoke and stars, Halilintar sighed contentedly.
"Alright, let’s pack up and head home"
"Or" taufan drawled, not moving from his spot on beside their oldest brother.
"we stay here and let the stars put us to sleep"
"You will like that, wouldn’t you?" Halilintar teased, though there was no bite in his tone.
"Maybe" Taufan admitted with a small smirk.
With a mix of groans and laughs, the septuplets slowly gathered themselves, ready to face the journey home.
But for now, they were together, full, happy, and at peace, a family that despite everything, always found their way back to each other.
Bonus
The next morning came with the warm glow of sunlight streaming through the curtains, casting soft patterns on the floor. The house was unusually quiet, save for the occasional groans coming from the shared bedroom.
Blaze was sprawled out on his bed, clutching his stomach, his face twisted in a grimace.
"Why… why did I do this to myself?" he mumbled weakly, his voice barely above a whisper.
Taufan lying on the bed next to him, wasn’t faring much better, be had a cold towel draped over his forehead and was hugging a water bottle like his life depended on it.
"Spicy noodles" he croaked,
"they are supposed to be delicious, not a weapon of mass destruction" Gempa stood at the doorway, arms crossed and an exasperated expression on his face.
"I warned you both" he said, shaking his head.
"But nooo, you just had to challenge each other to a spice contest and now look at you" Solar walked in, holding two glasses of milk with his glasses slipping slightly down his nose.
"Here, Milk helps neutralize the spice" he said in his usual matter of.fact tone, setting the glasses on the nightstand, Blaze tried to reach for his glass but winced as another wave of regret hit him.
"I feel like my insides are on fire," he groaned.
"Why didn’t anyone stop us?" Ice leaning against the wall rolled his eyes before he chimed in.
"We tried, you two were too busy trying to one up each other to listen and honestly, watching this unfold is the highlight of my morning." Thorn peeked into the room, clutching a stuffed animal.
"Are Blaze and Taufan okay?" he asked, his innocent eyes wide with concern before halilintar walked in behind Thorn, his arms full of fresh laundry.
"They will live" he said flatly, setting the pile down with his lips twitched into a faint smirk.
"Though I will say this is karma for all the trouble they caused last night" Taufan groaned, burying his face in his pillow.
"Don’t rub it in, Hali… I feel like I am dying here" Blaze who managed to give a weak glare in Halilintar’s direction chimed in.
"You are supposed to be the responsible one… shouldn’t you be helping us?" Halilintar raised an eyebrow.
"I am helping, I didn’t leave you to suffer alone, did I?" Gempa chuckled, grabbing one of the milk glasses and handing it to Blaze.
"Here drink up before Hali decides to lecture you to death"
"Ironic that you are the one who said that" blaze said before he took a small sip and immediately perked up.
"Oh, this actually helps," he said, his voice filled with a mix of surprise and relief before he shoved the glass toward Taufan.
"Drink this before your misery infects me" Taufan weakly accepted the glass and took a sip, sighing as the burn in his stomach finally began to fade.
"I am never eating spicy noodles again" he declared, though no one seemed to believe him.
"Sure you won’t" Solar muttered, already walking out of the room.
"Until the next food challenge comes along" As the rest of the brothers left the room to give them some peace, Thorn lingered for a moment, clutching his stuffed toy.
"Feel better soon, okay?" he said softly before running off.
Blaze and Taufan exchanged glances, their stomachs still in knots but their spirits slightly lifted as Blaze chuckled weakly.
"At least we made it through the bazaar… even if it tried to kill us" Taufan groaned but couldn’t help a small smile.
"Next time, no spice… and maybe no bazaar for a while"
"Deal" Blaze replied, collapsing back onto his bed as they both succumbed to much needed rest, their regrets and laughter lingering like a spicy aftertaste.
