Sinian blinked in surprise. "Alright, thanks for letting me know."

She entered the office, seeing that the door was indeed ajar. Inside, she found Zhou Yueshen looking at some papers, his brows furrowed in annoyance.

Seeing her come in, Zhou Yueshen's expression softened a bit. "You're here? Did you bring food?"

Sinian nodded, placing the food on his desk. "Yes, I made some noodles and there's bone soup. Also, I made some pickled radish."

Zhou Yueshen smiled slightly, "You always think of everything."

Sinian chuckled, "Eat while it's still hot. And don't get too angry about the pigs; accidents happen."

Zhou Yueshen sighed, "It's just frustrating when things don't go as planned. But having you here makes it better."

Sinian smiled back, "I'm glad I can help."

She then noticed a document on his desk. "What's this?"

Zhou Yueshen hesitated for a moment before saying, "It's a proposal for expanding the farm. With the success we've had, I think it's a good opportunity to grow."

Sinian looked over the document with interest. "It sounds promising."

Zhou Yueshen nodded, "It's a big step, but I believe it's the right one."

Sinian smiled supportively, "I trust your judgment."

The atmosphere in the office was warm, filled with mutual trust and understanding. They were partners in both life and business, facing challenges together and celebrating successes.

Fortunately, he's been busy outside these days and hasn't been at the farm, otherwise this lone passerby would've also been scolded.

Lately, he's been quite busy. He wakes up early every morning to slaughter pigs and delivers goods by driving. Now with this issue, he's naturally upset.

It's not just about the pigs escaping, but some villagers pick them up and keep them as their own.

For their farm, this is a significant loss.

Night watch isn't just to prevent theft, but also to prevent unforeseen incidents.

Surprised, did something like this really happen?

Feeling somewhat guilty, these days Zhou Yue Shen has been spending a lot of time with her, going to the Lin family's place, which has delayed him quite a bit.

Before, he mostly focused on work. Now, he's made time for her, which is already quite attentive of him.

Because of her and that Li Mingjun's situation, they had a fallout.

Now, she has to deliver the goods herself every day...

Suddenly, she felt a pang of regret.

"Where is it? I'll go take a look."

Zhou Yue Shen pointed to the far end of the farm, and she quickly walked towards it. Feeling guilty, she knew Zhou Yue Shen had been busy lately, yet she often took up his time. Though he never blamed her, she knew he must have some grievances. After all, he always cared for her so considerately, while she always made him worry.

Yu Dong quickly pointed her in the direction. Over there, a shed was set up with a stove on the ground, inside of which was a large iron pot. The closer she got, the more she could smell the faint scent of blood—it was a place specifically for slaughtering pigs.

Zhou Yue Shen had chosen a good location for the slaughter area behind the farm, near a stream which made water usage convenient. So, the front area was quite clean.

As she approached, she saw a group of big men standing in a row, heads lowered, looking like wronged young wives. Zhou Yue Shen seemed to be at a loss for words, his face pale but his voice deep and cold.

Just by standing there, everyone was too scared to even breathe. Someone spotted Si Nian and immediately cast a pleading glance her way.

The smart one among them quickly spoke up, "Sister-in-law is here."

Zhou Yue Shen's stern expression paused, then he turned around. Indeed, Si Nian was standing some distance behind him, hesitant to approach. His deep eyes narrowed slightly, then he turned back to the group, allowing them to continue their meal. He walked towards Si Nian.

The group let out a collective sigh of relief, wiping away their cold sweat, casting grateful glances at Si Nian.

Feeling a bit awkward, Si Nian hadn't meant to interrupt; she was just checking out the situation from afar. She didn't expect someone to call out to her.

"Why are you here?" Zhou Yue Shen's voice was deep.

Maybe it was the strong sunlight today, but Si Nian felt he looked even darker than before. His sharp eyebrows seemed even more pronounced, making his stern face look intimidating.

"I brought you some food. Yu Dong told me you were here," Si Nian replied with concern. "I heard what happened, are you okay?"

Zhou Yue Shen nodded slightly, "It's nothing major, just a few pigs that haven't been found yet."

Pork prices were high now, and even piglets could fetch a good sum. Many households in the countryside raised pigs not for consumption but for selling. Raising a pig for a whole year and then selling it could earn them a good amount. If one of these piglets was taken by someone, it would be quite difficult to retrieve.

"Do you want to eat something first? I've cooked bone marrow noodles for you. They'll get too thick if we wait," Si Nian reminded him.

Zhou Yue Shen agreed, "Alright."

Back in the office, Yu Dong had already left. Si Nian opened the lunchbox; the noodles had indeed thickened a bit. But they still smelled delicious. Luckily, she had also packed the soup separately, fearing it might become less appetizing when thickened.

Wiping away some sweat with a towel, Zhou Yue Shen sat down at the table. Just as he began eating, Yu Dong's voice echoed from outside, "Boss, it's done. When are we leaving?"

Zhou Yue Shen paused and glanced at Si Nian, explaining, "We have an urgent delivery this afternoon. I might be back late tonight. You should have dinner on your own."

With that, he quickly finished the noodles and soup, drank a bottle of water, and stood up to leave.

Seeing him take a few steps, Si Nian quickly spoke up, "Zhou Yue Shen."

He paused and turned around, his voice low, "What's up?"

With concern in her voice, Si Nian said, "Please drive safely and make sure to rest. These days, you've been going to the farm at three or four in the morning. Coming back late at night, you only get three or four hours of sleep each day. I'm really worried."

At this rate, even the strongest body wouldn't be able to endure it.

Her voice was soft and gentle as she stepped closer, "I'll ask my mom to make my eldest brother come back soon."

Zhou Yue Shen paused, staring into her eyes for a moment. He hesitated with his hand on the door handle, then turned around, taking large strides towards her, and closed the door behind him.

Si Nian's heart raced.

She looked up, about to speak when Zhou Yue Shen lowered his head, capturing her lips with his own. Si Nian widened her eyes in shock, making a soft sound of surprise. She wanted to lower her head, but the man's large hand held her neck, forcing her to tilt her head up.

Zhou Yue Shen pulled back, his voice low, "Don't look at me like that next time."

He couldn't bear to leave her.

Si Nian's lips were slightly moist, still stunned and not yet reacting. She felt the man's hand rubbing against the delicate skin of her neck, sending shivers up her spine.

She looked up, meeting his gaze full of desire.

At that moment, Si Nian was captivated as well.

He had never said he loved her, but his actions spoke volumes. Perhaps he wasn't good at expressing himself, but his actions told her that he did care for her.

Feeling emboldened, Si Nian, ignoring his warning gaze, reached up to wrap her arms around his neck and pressed her lips against his.

Zhou Yue Shen's eyes darkened as he kissed her back. Si Nian felt her tongue being gently suppressed by his, their kiss deep and passionate, like fish swimming and entwining in water.

His rough hand still rested on her neck, forcing her to tilt her head up further to meet his kiss. Lost in the moment, Si Nian forgot they were still in the office, letting out an unconscious soft moan.
