"you just don't know when to quit, do you?" The man asks.
Ana groans, pushing herself up.
Her head is pounding and she's very disoriented.
"when you quit trying to kill people, I'll quit trying to chase you" Ana responds, wiping away blood from a cut on her mouth.
The man laughs and kicks her.
Her weak body falls to the ground again.
"why?" Ana whimpers, pushing herself up again, not able to stand only able to be on her knees.
"the police killed my brother" The man, Davion, growls, grabbing her by the hair and making her look up at him.
"the police killed my father" Ana shoots back.
"they did?" Davion asks, dropping her and she falls to the ground again.
"yeah" Ana whispers, pushing herself up again so she's sitting.
"because he was Mexican?" Davion questions.
"He was Cuban" Ana corrects. "and he was killed in Cuba"
"I don't understand" Davion frowns.
"the American police can be racist, but in Cuba? every cop you see on the street is corrupt" Ana explains, weakly.
"then why be a cop here?" Davion asks.
"to prove to my father, to my mother, to my sisters and brothers, to my aunts and uncles, to my grandparents, that a police officer can be good, can be helpful, can want the best for citizens" Ana answers.
"so you're a good cop?" Davion questions.
"I try to be" Ana murmurs.
"well shit" Davion groans.
"you didn't hurt the others, right?" Ana asks, curling up into a ball.
"your friends? the other cops?" Davion questions.
"yeah" Ana nods.
"well..." Davion starts, sheepishly.
"what did you do?" Ana gasps, trying to stand up but her body is not ready for that.
"you're not the only weak link" Davion says.
"please" Ana starts, pushing herself up again only to fall again. "who did you hurt?"
Davion opens his mouth to respond but there's the sound of a crying baby.
"you took Jackson jr.?" Ana asks.
"and the Sergeant's daughter" Davion admits.
"where are they?" Ana insists.
Davion points towards a closed door.
"maybe you shouldn't try to stand, I drugged you pretty good" Davion advises as he watches Ana collapse again.
Ana ignores him, deciding to crawl to the door.
"okay, okay" Davion says, opening the door for her.
"Ana?" Dominique asks, sitting on the dirty floor with her hands zip tied behind her back.
"Dominique" Ana exhales, crawling over.
"take off her zip ties" Ana orders.
"yes, ma'am" Davion nods, walking over and cutting Dominique's zip ties.
Dominique leaps into her arms but winces in pain.
"what's wrong?" Ana asks, leaning back to feel her body for injuries.
"I broke her legs" Davion says, sheepishly.
Ana sends him a glare.
"here, let's get you laying down, yeah?" Ana asks, removing her jacket and using it as a pillow.
"the house was burning and I couldn't-" Dominique starts to cry.
"I know, I know" Ana assures, trying to help Dominique but she starts to sway back and forth.
"Ana?" Dominique asks.
"you should lay down too" Davion suggests.
"yeah, yeah, okay, but give me Jackson" Ana requests, weakly.
Davion obeys and hands her Jackson who was laying in a makeshift crib.
"hey, Jack" Ana murmurs.
Jack quiets down, recognizing the woman who carried him in her belly for nine months
"have you fed him?" Ana asks.
"what was I supposed to feed him?" Davion questions.
"oh my god" Ana groans, gently maneuvering Jack under her shirt so he can suckle on her breast.
She still produces milk from giving birth, even if the most it does is stain her bras and shirts. Thankfully Tim always notices and helps her out.
"you wanted to target the most vulnerable people in the LAPD?" Ana guesses.
"something like that" Davion says, sheepishly.
"because someone killed your brother" Ana finishes, softly.
"it was in cold blood, the stupid cop kept sayin' my brother was a gangster at the trial" Davion shakes his head.
"who was the cop?" Ana asks, softly.
"Doug Stanton" Davion spits out.
"I know him" Ana sighs.
"you do?" Davion growls.
"yeah, he-... he almost got a friend of mine killed and he... he tried to hurt me" Ana whispers.
"why wasn't he fired?" Davion asks.
"because he's a cop" Ana murmurs. "there are bad cops out there"
"but you're a cop" Davion frowns.
"I am" Ana nods.
"and you couldn't do anything?" Davion questions.
"no... I couldn't... but he got himself in trouble" Ana explains, softly.
"so he's no longer a cop?" Davion asks.
"not anymore" Ana promises, softly.
"that's good" Davion sighs.
[Time Skip - Two Hours Later]
"who are you working with?" Ana asks, softly, now leaning against the wall while sitting.
The effects of the drug have started to wear off but Ana still can't stand. Jack is asleep in her arms while Dominique restlessly sleeps on Ana's shoulder.
"what do you mean?" Davion questions.
"you couldn't have found out so much about us without some kind of informant" Ana replies, softly.
"it's an organization of people" Davion explains. "an international one"
"international?" Ana asks.
"yeah, that's how I got the information" Davion replies.
"what type of organization?" Ana inquires.
"The People Against Police (PAP)" Davion responds.
"and they attack police officers around the world?" Ana questions.
"yeah, they have this whole database" Davion nods.
"how do they get this information?" Ana asks.
"I don't know" Davion shrugs.
"do you know where the website is?" Ana questions.
Davion goes into another room and grabs his computer.
"why's it sandy?" Ana asks as she opens the laptop.
"this house... it's in the middle of the desert" Davion explains.
"the California desert, right?" Ana clarifies.
"yes, yes" Davion nods.
"okay" Ana relaxes a little, shifting. "you accessed it on the dark web?"
"mmhmm" Davion replies.
"all of this information... it's straight from police files" Ana frowns.
"what do you mean?" Davion asks.
"it's been copy and pasted from police files" Ana remarks.
"so? it was probably hacked into" Davion shrugs.
"no... I don't think so" Ana frowns, looking at one of the files.
"wait, is that where the username would be?" Davion asks, looking over her shoulder.
"it's blacked out" Ana notices. "there's a mole"
"wasn't there already a mole?" Davion questions.
"Nick Armstrong? yeah" Ana sighs. "but moles are unfortunately common"
"so someone who is a police officer is trying to kill police officers?" Davion inquires.
"apparently" Ana's eyebrows furrow.
Ana looks up from the computer when she hears the sounds of tires against the gravel driveway.
"are you working with someone?" Ana asks.
"no-" Davion starts to say when bullets fly through the window.
