"Don't you think this might be slightly unnecessary?" Ana asks, watching from the couch as Elijah and the team install an extensive security system for her new apartment.

"we still don't know who's after you" Tim says, as he sets down a cup of hot chocolate for her.

"they already tried to kill me once..." Ana frowns.

"I know, honey" Tim frowns, sitting down next to her.

"we're just gonna make sure no one is going to touch you, okay?" Tim assures.

"m'kay" Ana hums, leaning into him.

"Tim, can you put this up?" Lucy requests, trying to put a security camera up.

Lucy looks back and sees how Ana has buried herself into Tim's side. "never mind"

[Time Skip - Two Weeks]

"Looks like we're gonna be riding together. Everything good?" Nolan asks, walking over to see a recovered Ana sitting in Angela's chair while Angela is getting some files ready.

"Uh, yeah. We have to interview one of these Sovereign Citizen idiots. He allegedly assaulted an IRS agent who had a few questions about why Marvin Reynolds wasn't paying any of his taxes." Angela explains.

"Angela, I thought we were gonna talk more this morning. I woke up, you were gone." Wesley remarks, coming over.

"Yeah, I have a job, remember?" Angela points out.

"Uh... I'll wait for you by the shop." Nolan says, quickly vacating.

"me too" Ana says, softly. "I should go meet up with Nyla"

"you're staying and I'm right behind you" Angela says, the first bit to Ana and the second bit to Nolan.

"Angela." Wesley tries to get her attention.

"I don't have time for this conversation right now." Angela says, coldly.

"How many times can I apologize?" Wesley sighs.

"I told you, I didn't have a choice. Look, making a deal with Elijah was the only way that I could get Ana and Jackson Jr. home safe." Wesley continues.

"I don't understand. Ana is my daughter and Jackson Jr. is my son, why the hell wouldn't you include me in conversations about their health? And why won't you let me help you?" Angela snaps.

"Look, I didn't mean for you -- I got myself into this." Wesley responds.

"No, you got us into this, and I'm going to get us out. By telling Elijah Stone you don't work for him anymore. And if he's got a problem with that, me and a couple hundred of my closest friends --" Angela starts.

"and what about Ana?" Wesley asks.

"We don't need Elijah Stone to protect her" Angela answers.

"No, you still can't. He has leverage on me. He could take it to the state bar." Wesley admits.

"You swore you didn't break any laws." Angela hisses.

"I haven't. There could be some ethical questions." Wesley explains.

"I can't do this right now. We'll talk tonight." Angela scoffs, before turning to Ana.

"come on, I gotta drop you off with Nyla" Angela extends a hand and Ana takes it, standing up and walking away with Angela.

[Time Skip]

"So, it's been six weeks. Any thoughts on my progress?" Aaron asks as they walk to the shop.

"I write an evaluation every day. Those are my thoughts on your progress." Nyla responds.

"Right, I mean, that's the technical stuff, but I was just wondering, like, what you thought of me as a person." Aaron explains.

"What matters is what I think about you as a cop. You want people to like you, go make some friends." Harper explains before her phone rings and she steps away to take the call.

"what do you think about my progress?" Aaron questions turning to Ana.

"I think you're doing really good with adapting to situations and you're a good friend" Ana responds, smiling.

"see? that's the kind of response I'm looking for" Aaron grins when Harper returns.

However, Harper's face is grim.

"What's wrong?" Ana asks, softly, taking a step towards Harper.

"My ex-husband is getting married, and he wants to move to San Francisco and take my daughter with him." Harper blurts out.

"Can he do that?" Aaron asks.

"I don't know." Harper sighs.

Ana pulls Harper into a hug, which Harper gladly returns. Aaron moves to make it a group hug.

"don't you dare" Harper hisses, hugging Ana tighter and moving her away from Aaron.

"okay then" Aaron resigns.

[Time Skip]

"Okay, look, you cannot move our daughter to San Francisco. What -- What -- What are we gonna do? Put her on a plane every weekend? Enroll her in two schools? No, obviously not. What you are asking for is near total custody and I see her on weekends and holidays, which -- which is a violation of our custody agreement, by the way, so I -- I'm gonna need -- " Harper says before he hangs up the phone.

"If you're satisfied with your message, press one. If you'd like to re-record, pre--" The voicemail says.

"Look, I know he's your daughter's father, but that man is a coward for springing this on you." Aaron remarks.

"Well, he might have left a message last week saying that he needed to talk to me about something, but -- Maybe it was two messages. There might have been an e-mail. But..." Harper says, sheepishly.

"Okay. Then, why didn't you call him back?" Aaron questions.

"I don't know. I thought it was about something else." Harper admits.

"You thought it was about Halloween?" Ana asks, softly.

"What happened on Halloween? Ohhh" Aaron realizes.

"Mm." Harper hums, sending Ana a glare but she can't stay mad at Ana for long.

[Time Skip]

"Hold on. We just got sent a location of one of Marvin Reynolds' vehicles. Looks like he's got an RV that's been collecting parking tickets on the 1600 block of Crenshaw. We're closest. We'll -- We'll take it." Harper decides.

"Heading there now. -- Is that from your lawyer?" Aaron asks.

"Uh, yeah. It's about three pages of legalese that basically comes down to, I am screwed." Harper sighs.

"Yeah, but you're the mom. I mean, that has to matter." Aaron points out.

"Yeah, I'm the mom who all but abandoned her daughter when I went undercover and then nearly got her killed. Donovan is the one who was there for her." Harper points out.

"But you're a great mom, I've seen you with Lila, she loves you" Ana frowns.

"Would a great mom put her kid through a second custody battle? I mean, last time was a nightmare. She had trouble sleeping. Her school work suffered. I just -- I don't know if I can do that again." Harper sighs.

"the RV" Ana points out.

"All right. Be ready to bail in case he opens fire on us." Harper warns.

"Got that." Aaron nods as they get out of the car.

"Yeah, VIN matches. This is our guy's. Looks abandoned, but it don't mean he ain't held up inside." Aaron notes as they approach the car.

"wait" Ana says, softly, looking into the car.

"what is it, runt?" Harper questions.

"it's-..." Ana hesitates, trembling a little. "the-..."

"runt?" Harper demands.

"nevermind" Ana decides, stepping back.

"Are you sure?" Harper asks.

"yeah" Ana nods.

"All right. What's the play, Boot?" Harper asks Aaron.

"Well, there's only one entry point, so we stay safe and, uh, try to see if we can get him to come out with verbal commands." Aaron reasons.

"And if there's no response?" Harper questions.

"Breach?" Aaron guesses.

"Or... Ball-Cam. 360-degree view. It can even swim. I am in no mood to play games with this guy. We just have to get it inside." Harper muses.

"Man. This guy is ready for war." Harper whistles.

"So, are we going in?" Aaron asks.

"Hold on. One sec. I gotta check the door, make sure it's not rigged with explosives." Harper says.

"Yeah, he definitely seems like the type." Aaron nods.

"All right, I don't see any wires. We're all clear. -- All right. We're all clear. -- Control, 7-Adam-07, we're code 4. RV is unoccupied." Harper says over the radio.

""The world will burn in flames, And the oceans boil with rage" Looks like we got ourselves a manifesto." Aaron reads aloud.

"Listen to this. "As the night turns to dawn, The world will burn forevermore."" Harper reads aloud.

""Hell shall descend, The seas will turn to brimstone, Darkness encases us in its rage"" Ana murmurs as she continues reading.

"The world will burn to ash, The heavens will crumble to dust, The night will be set ablaze and it shall return to it's perfection" Aaron finishes.

[Time Skip]

"You know, you'd think after the seventh time this guy posted about overthrowing the government, someone might have called us." Aaron notes.

"Yeah, it's free speech, so there's not much we can do." Harper shrugs.

"Donovan call you back?" Aaron asks

"Nope." Harper shakes her head.

"Look, I know you don't want to put Lila through any more of this custody stuff, but you're not the one who's doing this. You know that, right? He is. He's the one who decided to move." Aaron points out.

"Yeah." Harper nods.

"But?" Ana prompts, softly.

"I-I mean, who am I to say that he can't? E-Especially after everything that I did." Harper explains.

"you're not being fair" Ana says, softly. "w-what happened... I'm not saying it was right but-... you've made up for it. You're still blaming yourself for it and that's not fair to you... and it's not fair to Lila. S-she wants her mom, and as her mom, you have to fight for her... right? I-If my family had fought harder to keep me, m-maybe we wouldn't be where we are now"

"what do you mean 'fought harder'?" Harper questions, confused.

"w-when they sent me to the hospital, t-they knew they weren't going to make it, so they were trying to save me... but... even now... I'd rather had held my mother when she died than return to her corpse" Ana sniffles. "I still-... I still have nightmares about it. I know what happened with me is different than what's happening with Lila, but don't send her away"

[Time Skip]

"where's runt?" Harper asks, as they get out of the cruiser.

Aaron looks around, only to see Ana sprinting after someone.

"what the hell?" Harper questions.

Both Aaron and Harper run after her.

Ana is chasing the man who burned her apartment to the ground, burned her... whatever Tim is to her right now, home to the ground, the man who tried to kill her.

The man makes a sharp turn so Ana does to, pushing past civilians. Thankfully her small size makes it easy to slip through the crowd while the man is held up because he's taller and more built.

Ana doesn't think when they emerge from the cobbled pathway onto the beach, and just chases after the man, who is making a run for the pier.

"Police!" Ana calls, one of her hands going to her taser.

The man turns around just in time to kick her hand. She lets go of the taser and she's about to throw a punch but he grabs her fist. He manages to kick her again, this time in the head and she falls unconscious.

[Time Skip]

"where'd she go?" Harper asks as they run out onto the beach.

"I don't know" Aaron replies, looking everywhere.

Both Harper and Aaron don't pay attention to the ferry that has just pulled out of the dock.

[Time Skip]

"to us" Luna smiles, clinking glasses with Grey.

"to you" Grey responds before taking a sip of his wine.

Grey looks down when his phone starts to ring.

"whose that?" Luna asks.

"Dominique" Grey frowns, looking down at his phone.

"what is she calling about?" Luna questions.

Grey shrugs and answers the phone.

"Dad!-... I-..." Dominque exclaims over the phone and there's a horrific sound of bones snapping and a scream in pain before the dial tone sounds on Grey's end of the phone.

{Another cliffhanger! I'm really sorry but I'll have the next episode out tomorrow. Also, I was wondering how y'all feel about me changing the plots of these episodes. I've been doing it for both seven and eight and I was wondering how you felt about it. Also, Snappin' will have two more chapters that I will release tonight before I finish it and I'll start on the longer Chenford x oc book. One suggestion I have is Lilian but Lili for short, but I'd appreciate other names. Also face claim ideas would be very helpful, I'm feeling like Dasha Taran but if you have other ideas please let me know. Finally, I was wondering how you felt about my covers for Altruism, someone said it was kinda ugly and I was wondering if y'all felt the same and would like me to edit those to look differently. That's all, sorry for a long authors note and thank you so much for all of the reads, votes, and comments, I love seeing them}
