As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm golden glow over the grounds of 'Gladiators Guild Academy' that was shrouded in eerie silence, a contrast to its usual hustle bustle. Alessandra stood on the terrace of the academy her heart heavy with the weight of memories. Memories of her past, memories of the torment she went through, memories of the ones who betrayed her and crucially the memories of last night.

She knew that last night, she had crossed a line, and the implications were now clawing at her conscience. With a sigh, she turned away from the terrace, reaching downstairs, she made way to her coping mechanism, her gym preparing to release her inner turmoil through anger, a habit she had found her escape in even after knowing its wrong. The scars of her past, both visible and invisible, felt like chains that bound her to a life she desperately wanted to flee.

As she approached the gym her ears felt the rythmic thump of her shoes against the floor in the haunting silence, making her way to the familiar ring she stood without her gloves infront of the punching bag, taking her position she back to back punched the bag echoing the sound of her knuckles connecting with the heavy leather bag hung infront.

Her mind raced, replaying the recent events, reliving her past. She knew she's been carrying a heavy burden, a weight that seems to grow heavier with each passing day. But in the solitude of the gym, she finds a strange kind of solace. The physical pain mirrors the emotional turmoil within her, providing a cathartic release.

After continuous punching of what felt like minutes but were hours, she moves to the weightlifting section, selecting a barbell loaded with heavy plates. She squats with the weight pressing down on her shoulders, she feels a surge of power. It's as if she's channeling her anger and frustration into the lift, using the physical exertion to release the emotional tension. After her intense workout, she stretches on a yoga mat, her body contorted into various poses. She focuses on the sensations in her muscles, feeling the tightness and the tension slowly easing. As she holds each pose, she allows her mind to wander, letting the pain wash over her without judgment.

She laid down on her back on the cold floor of the gym. Her breath comes in ragged gasps, her muscles burning from the intense workout she's just completed as she stares blankly at the ceiling above. She can still feel the pain but it is no longer overwhelming as before. She has faced it, embraced it, and found a way to channel it with her workout. She closes her eyes imagining the pain as a dark, swirling cloud that is slowly dissipating. When she opens her eyes, the gym seems brighter, the air feels fresher. She has faced her inner demons, and for now, they have retreated.

Flashback

"Sir here, A new and important mission has arrived requesting the presence of only Viper i.e. Alessandra." Jace said nervously passing Axel a file.

Axel sighed opening the file as he read the details, his gaze hardened and he angrily slammed the file shut.

"What's wrong, Papsi?" Alessandra asked, noticing his distress.

"Sir, I would have never brought this to your attention or even informed you, but they are specifically demanding her. We can't refuse them, as they are our biggest supporters," Jace explained, sensing the tension.

"I'm aware, Jace, but I can't allow it. I won't let Alessandra take this mission," Alex declared coldly.

"What's going on, Papsi?" Alessandra questioned, sensing something was amiss.

Alex ran a hand through his hair, sighing. "This mission...it's for one of our most important allies, and it's extremely dangerous."

"Papsi, you know I've completed many dangerous missions before. Why are you so concerned now?" Alessandra asked, confused.

"It's just that...I can't let you go on this mission," Alex declared firmly.

" Why Papsi? You know how passionate I am about my profession. I've never backed down from even the smallest mission. This is a significant opportunity, especially for our academy," Alessandra reasoned.

"No matter what, you won't be going. It's final. Jace, you go and handle this mission," Alex said, turning to leave.

"No, Papsi. I've always respected your decisions, but I will go. This could be a major milestone in my career. Why are you being so stubborn? Is it because you don't trust my capabilities enough or Is it because you want Jace to succeed as he's your son?" Alessandra snapped angrily, surprising herself with the last words that slipped out of her mouth.

"Papsi...I-I didn't..." Before she could finish, Alex left the room, masking the hurt caused by her words.

"You know, Ales, Dad has always favored you over me. He considers you as his daughter. How could you even think that?" Jace asked angrily.

"Jace...I didn't..." Alessandra tried to explain, but he cut her off.

"Dad doesn't want you to go on this mission because it has to be executed in Rome, Italy," Jace stormed out angrily, leaving Alessandra shocked and panicked.

Flashback over

Later that night, I crept up the stairs to the top floor, a mix of trepidation and resolve in my heart. I knocked softly on the door, and Papsi's voice, inviting me in, cut through the silence.

I went inside and knelt before him as he sat on his sofa, my hand resting gently on his knee. His gaze was fixed on the window, a glass of wine cradled in his hand.

"Papsi," I began, my voice barely a whisper. "I am so sorry. I don't know what came over me. I never meant to hurt you infact i dont even understand how I blurted those words. Papsi I-"

Papsi sighed and cut me off. "You think I'm hurt because of those words? I expected better from you, Gina. To understand me." He gently took my hand and helped me stand up, pulling me to sit beside him. "Gina, you're my daughter. I'd never be offended by such simple words. I'm hurt because you thought I would judge your abilities. Before my daughter, you're my student. I would never judge any of my students' abilities, especially yours. You're the best here. I know Jace must have told you about this mission, but even if you still want to go, I won't let you. You can choose any other mission you like, but not this one. I can't see my daughter go through that pain again." He said, holding my hands.

"Calm down, Papsi. I'm not going anywhere. You shouldn't stress out so much; it's bad for your health. Have you taken your medication? And why are you drinking?" I asked, raising an eyebrow at his soft smile.

"Yes, Gina, I've taken my medicine, and this isn't alcoholic. Now go away and let me enjoy my peaceful drink." He playfully shoos me away, sipping his wine again. "Papsi, I'm not Jace, but I'm going anyway. Good night and take care." I hug him goodbye.

"Thank you, Gina, for understanding and agreeing to not go on this mission," Papsi mumbles into the hug as I nod and leave.

He gently pats my head affectionately, "Good night". I smile softly leaving as I close the door I sigh, 'I'm sorry Papsi for disobeying you for the first time but I am accepting and successfully executing this mission'.

๐Ÿ“ Rome, Italy

Ilaria dusted herself off, her smile faltering slightly. "Really, again?" she muttered, annoyance creeping into her voice. She glanced up at the culprit, a familiar face with a sheepish smile plastered across it. "Oops, clumsy me," Chiara, her bestfriend teased, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "I just ran to hug you were incapable of supporting me." "Yeah right its my fault for not looking behing while walking" Ilaria replied annoyed yet with a playful glimmer in her eyes.

Rolling her eyes, Ilaria walked to the locker room with Chiara's arm loosely swinging on her shoulder, as she walked people scattered away giving way to her. She'd been a student at Rosaceae Ebon Academy for enough years now becoming habitual of people maintaining safe distance from her considering the reputation of her family and the threats of her brothers gave to everyone.

"Shall we go to your 'favorite' class" Ilaria asked irritated seeing her schedule and taking out her books

"Umhm lets go to your 'hated' class" Chiara joked amused by Ilaria's irritatedness

"Who said i hate the class, i dont i just hate mr. Fenzi. Besides it's not even about the subject no one can hate a subject if they get amazing teachers I hated maths but see now its my favorite since Ms. Negri came" Ilaria justified

"Hmm but what can we do? He's boring but since history's my favorite i study it in advance." Chiara replied as they started walking to their first class of the day, history.

After a tiresome day at school, Ilaria rushed up the stairs as she arrived knowing no one will be home at this time She quickly changed in a pale white hoodie and shorts and went downstairs hurriedly eating her lunch watching netflix. Than she rushed back upstairs eagerly to her art room. Her mind was already buzzing with ideas for her next masterpiece. The art room was a haven for creativity. Easel stands lined the walls, each holding a different canvas waiting to be filled with color. Paintbrushes of all sizes were scattered across the tables, and a variety of paints were lined up on the shelves. Ilaria grabbed a large canvas and a palette of bright colors. She dipped her brush into a pot of colors beginning to paint her imaginations. As she worked, she lost herself in the rhythm of the brushstrokes feeling a sense of peace and calm wash over her. She loved the way that painting could take her mind off of her worries and transport her to a different world. When she was finished, she stepped back to admire her work. The painting was beautiful, and she was proud of what she had created. Her thoughts were broken by a soft knock on the door as she replied a soft coming washing her hands.

She opened the door seeing the youngest Ilario standing there leaning on the wall "Finallyy!! Let's go my teeny tiny lady" He said bowing dramatically "Follow the princess Mr. Giant pole with a teeny tiny brain" she replied back earning a soft smack on her head as making her huff. They went downstairs chatting about their day as she greeted her family sitting down to eat. Later they all spent their time watching movie actually Harry Potter, the princess's favorite much to the younger brothers boredom. As they were watching, Riccardo got a call changing his calm and sweet expression to serious Alarmed by the call he got up moving out gesturing for Alessia, Alessandro, Giovanni and the triplets Leonardo, Lorenzo and Leandeo to follow him. Leaving Frederico and Ilario to be with Ilaria. Cars engines were heard fiercely roaring as tyres screeched rushing out of the garage followed by complete.silence apart from dialogues of movie now long forgotten.
