Lucy's pov:

A few hours pass and I was now 6 centimeters dilated, I'm beyond excited but very nervous!

I look over at Tim who's holding my hand through contractions which are now closer together.

I start to color in a random coloring book we brought from home to pass the time. A few mins later Angela walks in

Angela) "Knock knock! May I come in?"

Lucy) "Of course Ange!"

Angela appears from the curtains

Angela) "There are some of my favorite people!! How's it going?"

Tim) "She's a trooper and handling this like it's nothing. I don't know how she does it!"

I smiled at him

Lucy) "He's sweet"

Lucy) "Yeah, contractions haven't been too horrible yet but I know they probably will once I--I..." ——————————————————

Tim's pov

Tim) "Babe? Babe!"

All of the sudden every machine in the room starts beeping and she becomes limp and struggles to breathe.

I hurry and press the nurse call button beside her stomach.

And yell out

Tim) "HEY WE NEED SOME HELP IN HERE!!"

Angela looks terrified and sad but rushes out of the room

Angela) "I'll inform the others, Pray!"

I hold my hand up to her face which is starting to become cold as soon as a swarm of doctors and nurses come in and I hold her hand.

Random Doctor) "I'm sorry sir but we need you to step aside just for a minute so we can fully assess your wife and your baby alright?"

I take a few steps back while tears stream down my face

Dr) "SOMEONE GET ME THAT IV AND OXYGEN GOING ALREADY!!"

Nurse) "Done."

Tim) "Luce..."

I said in the saddest tone ever. I can't lose her too...

A minute passes by and no one is answering my question

Tim) "Doctor what is happening?"

They are answering while hooking her up to more wires

Doctor) "Your wife may have had a stroke or seizure, we are gonna look more into it but it's possible we'll have to perform an emergency Cesarean section. I'm so sorry."

My heart broke in a million pieces

Doctor) "She's starting to breathe on her own again but not responding and still having trouble. GET ME AN ULTRASOUND now and an EEG!"

Nurse) "You got it doc!"

Minutes pass until the doctor finally figures out something

Doctor) "She's stable but we have to perform emergency cesarean section in just a minute. I'm so so sorry. We hope she's conscious for the birth but we will have to see."

My legs start to buckle and my whole body feels like a million pounds, I slowly fall to the ground and just let the tears fall.

She has to be alright

He has to be alright

They both have to be alright.

They are my whole world and I can't lose them. —————————————————

Doctor) "Mr.Bradford... she's ready.. we're gonna wheel her in and you'll be by her side through it all if she's awake or not. You gotta be strong. You ready?"

I nod my head

Tim) "Yes Sir."

He hands me some Scrubs and the things I need to enter into the operating room. I feel like he could see right through me and how scared I was even when I tried to hide it.

I walk beside Lucy's bed as she's wheeled into the room where doctors are hurrying to save his life and potentially hers.

The doctors start the procedure and as soon as they start I look in the face of my wife, who has no idea this is happening right now and it breaks my heart.

I speak to her in a quiet tone

Tim) Luce...in case I never get a chance to say it... you are everything I never knew I wanted... Maybe it is the way that you loved me from the start... Or how you are there when I fall down.. Or maybe it is because I was too scared to feel something for someone again.. But no matter how much I used to try.. I fell in love with you nonetheless... Maybe it was from the constant laughter or the warm space you made or how your voice makes me feel..

If you make it through this.. I love you and if you don't... I still love you.. forever and nothing can change that-

My thoughts get snapped out by the curtain being dropped and seeing the most beautiful baby boy in the world being held by the doctors for me to see

I didn't think my heart could get any bigger but boy was I wrong. He's the most perfect thing

As he starts to cry my hand tightens but not by my own hand

Tim) "Lucy!!"

I move down some to kiss her

Her eyes flutter open by the sound of our son crying and she looks at our new son and me

Tim) "Hey... You're okay! We have a beautiful son!"

Lucy) "Tim... I love you... And I can't believe I missed the birth of him..."

She started to tear up while I comforted her

They wipe the baby off and get a few more things done fast then bring him to us

Lucy) "He's remarkable! I love him so much already!"

Tim) "Hey the birth is just the birth it's what comes after thats more important, like our whole son!"

Lucy's pov:

So many questions still burn in my head but the only thing I care about is my son and husband

Lucy) "He's so precious!!"

They take him again to weigh him and make sure everything is okay.

A nurse shouts about above all the others

Nurse) "5.7 pounds and 18 inches!"

Lucy) "Gosh he's so tiny... Is he okay?"

Nurse) "We're gonna take him to the NICU for a few hours just to make sure but so far he seems alright. He's a trooper! You all are!"

I smile at the thought of hopefully getting to hold him soon

A little while later Tim and I were sitting in the recovery room waiting to hear the news on if we'd get to see baby boy soon again and hold him

I look over at Tim in the chair

Lucy) "Benjamin.."

Tim looked up at me

Tim) "L-Luce... You don't have to do that..."

Lucy) "Of course I do. He saved your life and I owe everything to him it's the perfect name for our little boy, We can even have a middle name starting with an E in honor of Everett."

Tim had a tear fall from his face

Tim) "Benjamin (Benny/Ben) Everett Bradford...Thank you... I love it"

I smiled real big and Tim had a serious face

Lucy) "Hey hey... Don't do that.... I'm okay..."

Tim shook his head

Tim) "I didn't even give birth... But that was one of the new scariest things I've experienced... I thought I was gonna lose not only you but Benny too..."

I wiped his tears

Lucy) "Shhh... We're alright okay?"

Tim nodded still a little down

Lucy) "Hey! We're parents!!!

Tim grinned wide

Tim) "Yeah we are!!" ——————————————————
