Things, of course, were starting to get heated. This was an Uno game, after all; you can't have Uno without that one person constantly yelling about the rules and accusing others of cheating. In this case, that person was Paintbrush. They were locked in a heated debate with Silver Spoon over the placement of +2 cards.
"You can't place it over red; that's a blue +2," Paintbrush snapped at Silver as he played his card.
"Can't you place a +2 at any time?" Silver asked sassily, sounding like a know-it-all.
"NO! You can't! You can only place a +2 when it's another +2 or the same colour as the card. So this doesn't count!" Paintbrush harshly picked up the card from the stack and threw it at Silver.
Silver scoffed. "Well, I've never heard that rule before, so I think I will place it anyway." Silver picked up his card and replaced it.
"BUT IT DOESN'T WORK THAT WAY! You can't just make up rules willy-nilly! That is not how you play!" Paintbrush yelled.
"It's how I play. Maybe you're just upset because I stopped you from getting Uno," Silver shrugged smugly.
"No, no! This is not how you play! You're cheating!" Paintbrush argued loudly.
As their bickering continued, YinYang, bored, slipped away from the table.
"The Cookies are probably done, time to check!"
They announced.
Candle nodded in agreement, slipping out of her seat. "Let me help you with those."
Balloon glanced at Nickel, then at YinYang and Candle. "Uh, us too! You might need our help!" Balloon didn't want to stick around while Silver and Paintbrush argued.
Nickel nodded and stood up with Balloon. He didn't need to be asked twice; he'd rather do anything else than watch those two bicker about the rules.
The four of them left to check on the cookies while Paintbrush and Silver continued their argument.
Lightbulb noticed her partner embroiled in another Uno fight. Excusing herself from Test Tube's rambles, she walked over to check if everything was okay.
"Painty, what's wrong?" she asked lovingly, placing a hand on Paintbrush's shoulder.
"HE is what's wrong! He's being ridiculous. I think he's deliberately trying to aggravate me because there's no way this idiot actually believes he can place a blue +2 card over a red card!" Paintbrush snapped.
Silver rolled his eyes and scoffed. "You're overreacting," he retorted sassily.
Lightbulb sighed, knowing it was only a matter of time before an argument broke out. "Alright, sweetheart, come on... he's not worth it. Besides, we need to get the meat out of the oven and cut it," she said with a faint smile, trying to defuse the situation.
Paintbrush immediately began to calm down, their anger subsiding. They nodded and stepped away from the table, grateful for Lightbulb's ability to soothe them.
The two of them left the table to start dishing up dinner while Silver stayed behind to clean up the Uno cards.
As dinner time approached, Candle helped YinYang get the cookies out of the oven and place them on a cooling tray. Knife carefully removed the roasted vegetables from the oven, placing them over a heat mat, while Lightbulb and Paintbrush took care of the meat. Their plan was for each person to get a plate, head to the serving stations, and use tongs to pick up the meat and vegetables. The cookies were set aside for later.
Serving dinner went smoothly. Lifering and Goo guided everyone into a simple line, starting at the vegetable station and ending at the meat station. Once everyone had their food, they found their seats. The Bright Lights sat together as usual, with Fan and Test Tube on one side and Lightbulb and Paintbrush on the other. Balloon and Nickel opted to sit with Candle, Silver, and YinYang to avoid Test Tube's ramblings about why Knife chose her for the luxury cabin. They knew too much—things she didn't know, including what Fan did. They feared they might accidentally reveal something or that Test Tube would figure out they knew something, so they decided it was safer to avoid her. Besides, they were actually enjoying their time with Candle, Silver, and YinYang. As usual, Knife and his friends sat together at their own table.
During dinner, Test Tube eyed Knife, her mind racing with questions. Nothing was adding up—could his gesture really just be a kind one? He seemed so relaxed yet so distant from his friends, who were all chatting amongst themselves. Knife ate silently, as if he had a lot on his mind. Test Tube assessed his behaviour; something was definitely off, but she couldn't pinpoint what. It wasn't just him who seemed off. Fan had been acting strangely ever since they got lost in the woods. Sure, he might be overwhelmed after the argument with Paintbrush, but they had fought before, and he had always been fine afterward. Now, he seemed distant from everyone, not his usual loud and obnoxious self. This made Test Tube nervous—did Fan know something he wasn't telling her? She didn't want to believe that was true; she wanted to trust her boyfriend. But something just didn't sit right. For now, she let it go, letting Paintbrush vent about how idiotic Silver Spoon was instead.
Meanwhile, Silver Spoon and Candle were reassuring YinYang that if anything bad happened in the luxury cabin, they had every right to leave and find them or go to their own cabin. They wanted to make sure YinYang felt comfortable and safe, especially after hearing the drama from Nickel and Balloon. They didn't want YinYang caught in the crossfire. As they spoke, Silver rested his hand on Candle's thigh. He couldn't help himself. Luckily, YinYang didn't notice.
Balloon and Nickel spoke amongst themselves, acting like goofballs. Nickel did silly impressions of their friends, and Balloon giggled at him. Balloon always encouraged Nickel's humour, even when it was a bit mean-spirited. He couldn't help it—Nickel made things really funny.
Goo and Lifering stood by the benches, eating their food and having a work discussion while keeping an eye out in case anyone wanted seconds. Dinner ran smoothly, without complications, which was a good thing.
Soon enough, everyone finished their meals and got up to place their plates and cutlery in the dishwasher. Afterward, each person was allowed one cookie. The cookies were plain to accommodate allergies and preferences, but everyone seemed to enjoy them, munching happily as they prepared to head to their cabins.
Fan and Test Tube needed to stop at their cabin to grab pyjamas, blankets, and other necessities before heading to the luxury cabin where Knife would be. Fan was not looking forward to this. Leaving the kitchen, he stayed silent, trailing behind his girlfriend with his eyes glued to his phone. His palms were sweaty, and he felt like he was going to be physically sick. But there was nothing he could do or say to change Test Tube's mind; she was determined to stay in the cabin and get to the bottom of things.
Balloon and Nickel lingered behind, letting the Bright Lights walk ahead as they headed to their cabin. They wanted to avoid any potential drama and enjoy a rare moment of peace. Things couldn't be better for them—Knife wasn't going to bother them, they were now an official couple, and they didn't have to worry about Fan and Test Tube all night, which meant their guilt wouldn't eat them alive.
Fan and Test Tube decided to change into their pyjamas before heading to the luxury cabin. They both went to the bathroom to get changed and gathered everything they needed for the night. Fan wore cute red dinosaur pyjamas and pink slippers, with his hair down and fuzzy, resting against his shoulders. Test Tube wore matching pyjamas with green dinosaurs, her hair tied up and out of the way, and white slippers.
"Good luck, you two! If it gets too overwhelming, just come back!" Lightbulb smiled.
"Yeah, I am pretty sure it's not compulsory that you stay there." Paintbrush added.
Balloon and Nickel stayed silent, engrossed in Balloon's phone as they explored offline Snapchat filters and took silly photos to save. They realised they hadn't taken a selfie together in years, so they made up for lost time by snapping numerous pictures. This was their way of distracting themselves from the Test Tube and Fan situation.
"Night, everyone! We might be back; we'll see how it goes," Test Tube smiled faintly before stepping out the door with Fan.
In one hand, Test Tube held her blanket and pillow. With the other, she gently squeezed Fan's hand, looking down at him with a soft gaze to check if he was okay. She was really worried about him. Maybe he was anxious because he wasn't comfortable being in the same cabin as Knife? That made sense, considering Knife had been weird towards him and bullied him in the past. So, it could just be that, right?
"Are you alright, Fan?" Test Tube asked softly.
Fan swallowed and nodded slowly. "Yeah," he answered quickly. But he wasn't fine; he was far from fine.
. . .
Knife went straight into his cabin, quickly grabbing his belongings and leaving without speaking to his friends. He wasn't in the mood after they accused him of having a soft spot for Fan. He felt frustrated—they never helped out, yet they got upset when he won. And now they mocked him for helping Fan? He wanted to prove that he wasn't developing a soft spot for Fan, but deep down, he knew he was. It was the only explanation for his actions. He had helped Fan multiple times today and even admitted to using him in the past for his own benefit. Why else would he confess that if he didn't care about Fan? Perhaps it was because Fan had been genuinely kind to him, or maybe it was seeing him cry. He wasn't sure, but he hated how he felt and resented his friends for making fun of him.
Knife didn't want to tell Test Tube what Fan had done. He didn't want Fan to get in trouble for something he couldn't control. Admittedly, lying and hiding it from Test Tube was wrong, but Knife felt conflicted. Part of him wanted to tell Test Tube, but another part hesitated. He knew Fan was burdened with guilt. If he confessed, painted Fan as innocent, they could move on. It might not break them up—Knife saw how they were with each other. He just needed to present the facts calmly and ensure Test Tube didn't suspect his friendship with Fan.
He believed this was the best plan, even if Fan didn't agree. It was better for the truth, or at least part of it, to be out there. Knife was prepared for tonight. Once the truth was on the table, he planned to stay neutral. He didn't want to defend Fan; he simply wanted to present the facts. As long as Test Tube didn't know about their friendship, everything should be okay. She only needed to know they bumped into each other in the woods accidentally. Knife gave Fan items out of guilt, nothing more. He wouldn't mention either times he bumped into Fan in the kitchen and he won't mention the compromise he made with Balloon and Nickel.
This was his strategy. He just hoped it wouldn't cause chaos.
. . .
As the only one with no connection to the unfolding drama, poor innocent YinYang was being carefully prepared for the evening by Silver Spoon and Candle. They ensured he had everything he needed—pyjamas, blankets, and pillows—and reassured him a thousand times that if he felt uncomfortable, he could leave and stay in the teachers' cabin. Their primary concern was keeping him safe from harm.
They escorted YinYang to the luxury cabin and helped him settle in, choose his bed, and make it. The others had not yet arrived. While Candle and Silver Spoon had promised Balloon and Nickel to keep the drama a secret, they decided to stay until Knife, Fan, and Test Tube arrived. This way, they could remind them to behave, ask them to look after YinYang, remember he is younger than all of them, and perhaps even keep them out of trouble, just in case things do turn south.
Not long after YinYang had finished making his bed, Knife arrived. He walked in, rolling his eyes at the sight of Candle and Silver Spoon. Of course they were here. Ignoring them, he found the bed he wanted, tossed his stuff down, and crawled into bed. Lying on his back with his arms behind his head, he noted how much more comfortable these beds were compared to the ones in the regular cabin. He might actually get a good night's sleep tonight.
"Hello, Knife," Candle greeted him with a sweet smile.
"Sup," Knife responded casually.
"How are you?" Candle asked kindly.
"I'm alright. What's up, YinYang!" Knife smiled at the little guy. He actually didn't mind them; YinYang was chill in his book.
"We could've had an all boys club if you didn't invite Test Tube, ya know?" Yang complained.
"Yang is just salty, don't listen to him, I am sure it will be fine with Test Tube."
Knife chuckled a bit as he sat up. "My bad, Yang. I just thought it was fitting since it's Fan's girlfriend," he shrugged.
Silver whispered something to Candle, which Knife noticed out of the corner of his eye, but he let it slide.
"Do you think YinYang will be safe around Knife?" Silver asked quietly.
Candle whispered back, "I think Knife is more responsible than people give him credit for. He knows right from wrong; he just chooses to do wrong most times. But when he needs to do right, he does right." Having known Knife for years, counselling and helping him through high school, Candle had come to realise that he was actually a very honest and understanding person. He was a good friend. Sure, he could be a jerk to some, but for the most part, he was responsible. He only became really horrible when someone hurt someone close to him.
Silver crossed his arms, still slightly nervous but trusting Candle's judgement
It wasn't long before Fan and Test Tube arrived at the cabin. They pushed open the door to find Knife and YinYang already there, along with Silver Spoon and Candle, who were just about to leave.
Test Tube was clearly very protective of Fan tonight, holding his hand with a fierce look on her face, ready to defend him against anyone who might try to hurt him.
"We were just making sure YinYang was okay. We hope you all have a pleasant night," Candle said sweetly before leaving with Silver Spoon. They were understandably concerned, but all they could do was wait it out. As far as they knew, Silver and Candle had no idea about the ongoing drama.
The moment Silver and Candle closed the door, Test Tube placed her stuff on a nearby bed and took Fan's blanket and pillow from his arms. She started making the bed for both of them while Fan stood there anxiously, staring at Knife and silently begging him to keep quiet. Fan hoped Knife could see the pure distress in his eyes. Knife did notice and felt guilty, but he believed he had to do this. Fan might not realise it, but telling the truth was what was best for him. Knife didn't want to be responsible for their relationship potentially ending over a continued lie. He gave Fan nothing in return, just a blank look, acting casual and relaxed, as if there was nothing to be stressed about.
Meanwhile, YinYang, completely innocent to everything, was happily searching through the board games the luxury cabin had.
Once the bed was set, Test Tube sat down and patted the spot beside her for Fan to join. He did, sitting down right next to her. She smiled weakly, feeling somewhat nervous being here with Knife, but she tried to act tough. She didn't want Knife to know how anxious she really was. To her, Knife was bad news, and spending the night in the same room with him was terrifying. She knew he had a reason for inviting her over anyone else, and she intended to find out what it was. Part of her feared what she might discover and suspected that Fan was lying to her or withholding the whole truth. She didn't want to believe it, but after considering every possibility, it seemed likely that Fan was hiding something. She couldn't shake the feeling that Fan knew the reason why Knife chose her as the fourth member of the luxury cabin.
"Golly... isn't this boring? You could've picked anyone else... but I guess you picked me. Weird, huh? I'm not sure why you'd want me here over all your friends, or even Balloon," Test Tube said suddenly, directly voicing her curiosity.
Knife rolled his eyes and crossed his arms over his chest, staring at Test Tube with a blank expression. "If you want to know why, then ask, and I will tell you. Stop beating around the bush," he asserted.
"Fine." Test Tube crossed her arms. "Why did you choose me?" she asked bluntly.
YinYang, confused by the tension, eavesdropped carefully, intrigued by the drama. He thought about telling Candle and Silver Spoon if anything juicy came up, not realising they already knew everything.
Fan was trembling, absolutely terrified. His eyes were glued to his phone as he scrolled through his apps, unable to look at Knife or Test Tube. He knew his guilty eyes would give everything away. He stayed silent as they spoke, praying that his lies wouldn't be exposed.
"It's simple. Fan won fair and square. Why should he miss out on the award just because I'm here? I overheard you lecturing him about staying away from me like I'm some sort of plague, forbidding him from accepting his award because you're worried about him talking to me." Knife scoffed. "So, I fixed the problem. I chose you so Fan could still get the award he deserved, since his bossy girlfriend couldn't bear to let him be around me, the big bad Knife..." He shook his head and rolled his eyes.
Test Tube scoffed, feeling highly offended. "You talk like you're not a bad guy! Like you haven't done horrible things. You used to bully Fan, so of course I'm protective of him. Not to mention you have some beef with Nickel for some reason and keep trying to steal his boyfriend, and now you're coming after mine? Why would I want Fan anywhere near you?" she spat.
"Hm, I guess that's a fair point. But what about letting Fan make his own choices? You know I haven't bullied Fan in years. Plus, I'm not trying to steal your boyfriend. I have no interest in him," Knife stated coldly. "And my beef with Nickel? It's valid. He got my boyfriend expelled from school. I admit, at first, I was trying to use Fan to get information on Nickel and Balloon's relationship, but I'm past that, especially after how you guys treated him today..." Knife glared at Test Tube.
Fan's face drained of all colour, feeling like he was going to throw up, his grip on the sheets tightening.
"What do you know about what happened today...?" Test Tube asked, a hint of anger in her voice.
YinYang's eyes went wide. Oh, this was juicy. In their mind, they were already imagining how Silver and Candle would eat this drama up when they shared it with them.
Fan felt a cold sweat run down his forehead. He knew there was no way out of this now, but he still had to try to say something. He couldn't let Test Tube know.
"Test Tube, we should go..." Fan suggested, realising too late that this made him look even more suspicious, as if he knew something was up.
Test Tube shook her head and shushed him. "No, I want to hear what he has to say." She needed to understand what Knife meant. Clearly, Knife and Fan had spoken at some point for him to get that information, unless someone had witnessed the fight and secretly told him. She hoped it was the latter rather than her boyfriend going behind her back to talk to Knife... but it was starting to look like the most plausible scenario.
"Fan, it's not even that big of a deal," Knife scoffed. "Look, I found Fan in the middle of the woods, curled up into a ball and crying. He vented to me about what happened, how Paintbrush threw his phone, and all that. I felt sorry for the guy; I'd never seen him cry like that, not to mention he was lost. So, I gave him four of my items. That's why he actually had items, and then I took him out of the woods and back to camp. That's all. I didn't stick around; I left to find my friends." Knife explained, omitting parts of the story that would get Fan in a lot of trouble. He hoped that telling part of the truth would push Fan to come clean. "So you should relax and stop acting like I did something bad to your boyfriend," he added.
Test Tube suddenly felt guilty. Had she been worked up over nothing? She was really upset that Fan didn't tell her about running into Knife, but not in an angry way. She felt hurt that Fan didn't feel he could trust her. Did he fear she would yell at him for this? It was out of his control; he was alone and lost, and Knife helped. It wasn't his fault, and it wasn't like they were best friends or anything else happened. She felt bad for putting so much pressure on him, for making him feel like he couldn't share something as simple as that. But alas, it wasn't that simple, and there was so much more Knife had left out. Test Tube shouldn't feel bad or blame herself—she had every right to be worried because Fan was still lying to her about more than just that. But how was she going to know without Fan telling her?
"Fan, is this true?" Test Tube frowned. "If it is—I'm sorry you felt like you had to hide that from me. Golly, I didn't think I was that protective. I was just nervous that Knife was going to hurt you. I didn't actually think he would've helped you. Not that he's a good guy—he's still done bad things to hurt you, and the whole thing with Nickel and Balloon and using you for his own gain—but I didn't expect this. Why did you feel you couldn't tell me, love? You haven't done anything wrong." She turned fully to him, her eyes filled with sorrow and guilt. She shouldn't be feeling guilty; she wasn't overreacting, and Fan was in the wrong, but she just didn't know it. But Fan did. Seeing the hurt in her eyes was killing him. He didn't want to get in trouble, but seeing Test Tube blame herself for being overprotective made him sick to his stomach.
This was Knife's plan, wasn't it? To only tell half the truth, knowing that Fan would feel guilty if the whole truth wasn't revealed. Knife was smarter than he let on. Fan knew Knife wasn't doing this out of hatred. He could tell this was Knife's way of helping him come clean. Knife wanted Fan to tell Test Tube because he could see how much it was eating him alive. Fan knew he had to tell her now, but he was terrified of her losing her temper.
"Uh... can we go for a walk?" Fan asked, dodging the question. He didn't want to lie anymore; it made him sick. "Please..." he whispered to her.
Test Tube glanced at Knife, who seemed unphased, and YinYang, who was listening curiously. They had expected more drama, maybe an affair or something. This was kind of boring in comparison.
She simply nodded and stood up, taking Fan's hand. "Sure, hun, let's go." She hoped Fan was okay. She wanted to be a little mad at him for not telling her, but how could she? The poor guy got lost in the woods, and his only help was Knife. Then, to have Test Tube earlier screaming at him about being around Knife and how bad it was to be alone with him—he must have been petrified to tell her. This was all her fault...
But it wasn't, and she would find that out once she heard everything.
The two of them left the cabin holding hands and walked down to the riverbank in silence until they were far enough from the cabins. Fan knew he had to tell her now. He felt like he was going to throw up or collapse from anxiety, but he couldn't let Test Tube continue feeling this way. Taking a nervous, shaky breath, he closed his eyes.
"Test Tube... there was more to that story than Knife let on," Fan admitted, his voice trembling.
Test Tube tilted her head, her heart racing with confusion. "What do you mean?" she asked with concern.
Fan swallowed hard and took both her hands, turning to face her. "It wasn't just that one time in the woods. Everything he said was partially true, but there was more."
"You didn't cheat on me, did you?" Test Tube asked anxiously.
"What? No! Of course not. It's just... that wasn't the first time I ran into Knife. But please don't get mad! Just let me finish," Fan begged.
"Okay. Explain..." Test Tube let go of his hands and crossed her arms, staring at him intently.
"Look, I ran into him in the kitchen this morning when I was making coffee. That's why I forgot Lightbulb's hot chocolate. I promise I wasn't deliberately looking for him! He was just there. He started being so nice to me and even offered to make the coffee. I kept telling him that my friends and girlfriend didn't want me to talk to him, but he kept sweet-talking me. I know I should've told you then, but I was conflicted. I kind of think Knife is cool, and I like being around him, but I knew you'd never approve, so I planned to stay away from him for you." Fan explained, his voice breaking.
"Then, I ran into him again. This time, he followed Balloon and me into the kitchen and explained why he hates Nickel so much. I didn't want to tell you about the encounter because I was scared you'd be upset. Balloon told Nickel, but I just couldn't tell you. I knew you'd yell at me and tell me to stay away from Knife, but I didn't want to."
"In the woods, it was mostly true. He did find me crying, and he helped me and walked with me. But I left out that we ran into Nickel and Balloon. Balloon had enough of me lying to you, so he made a deal. If Knife stayed away from them for the rest of the camp, Balloon wouldn't tell you. And for some reason, Knife agreed. I think he sees me as a friend. I know you're thinking he's just using me, but I saw a new side of him today." Fan explained as best as he could, shaking and on the verge of tears. "Test Tube, I love you so much, and I am so, so sorry that I kept this from you. I didn't know how to tell you, and I was scared you'd be mad at me."
Test Tube was speechless. Why hadn't Fan just told her all of this? Why keep it from her? Sure, Test Tube didn't trust Knife, but if Fan felt okay with him, she could learn to have a little more faith. But how was she supposed to have faith in Fan when he couldn't even be open with her?
"Fan..." she sighed, struggling to find the right words. It was a lot to take in. It did seem like Knife had a soft spot for her boyfriend. She just hoped it wasn't romantic because that would be a whole other problem.
"Why didn't you tell me? Am I really that protective that you're scared to tell me things? I don't want you to feel like you have to lie to me. I'm your girlfriend; I'd love you no matter who you wanted to be friends with... even if it was Knife. I wouldn't be upset at you for that. Concerned, yes, but not upset. I'm more upset that you felt like you had to keep it from me. How is that fair to me and how I feel? This whole time, you saw me stressing and worrying, yet you knew more than you were letting on. You kept lying, and even made a compromise with Balloon to keep it secret? Why didn't Balloon just tell me?" Test Tube snapped.
"Don't blame Balloon. He didn't actually think Knife would defend me!" Fan quickly interjected, defending Balloon. "He said that in hopes I'd change my mind and agree to tell you. But Knife actually took the compromise. You're right; I should have just told you. Please, honey, don't blame yourself or think you're overprotective. I was being stupid. I was excited to have a new friendship with someone as cool as Knife. Someone who once picked on me now thinks I'm interesting and wants to talk to me. It was so exciting, and I was scared of telling you because I thought you'd get mad, which I understand after everything he's done this camp. I just... I do really enjoy talking to him." Fan explained, trying his best to make sure Test Tube knew she wasn't to blame at all and that not telling her was his own fault.
Test Tube sighed. She realised she couldn't control who Fan was friends with, and she needed to let him make his own choices. She could admit that sometimes she was a little overprotective, but it was only because she loved him so much and wanted to keep him safe.
"It's okay." She cupped his cheek, lifting his face so their eyes met. "I forgive you for not telling me, but please, don't keep secrets from me. I get worried when you hide things. I want us to trust each other and be open. I want you to feel like you can tell me anything. If you like being friends with Knife, that's fine, but be smart about it. Knife is mixed up in things I don't want you involved in. Sometimes I might get overprotective and say things about Knife you won't like, but that's only because you're my first priority. Nobody else, okay?" She wiped his tears with her thumb.
This turned out better than Fan expected. He sometimes forgot how understanding and loving his girlfriend was. He felt honoured to have her and knew he could never replace her.
"I'm so sorry for lying," Fan choked out, burying his head in her chest and wrapping his arms around her. Test Tube felt tears in her eyes too. She hated seeing Fan like this. She wrapped her arms around him and started to run her fingers through his hair. This camp had been a lot for Fan. She wished she hadn't stayed to argue with Paintbrush during the fight and had run after Fan instead. But she couldn't change the past. She was just glad everything was out in the open now.
Funny... a part of her worried Fan might never have told her if it wasn't for Knife. Maybe Knife wasn't that bad after all. Maybe he was a guy who did bad things but for a reason. What could Nickel have done to get on Knife's bad side? Then again, Knife used to bully Fan for no reason. Maybe he had matured and changed since then. People can change. Whatever the case, Test Tube's view on Knife hadn't changed much, but her view on Fan had. She hated thinking he would keep things from her. It made her anxious about what else he might be hiding. She hoped this was an eye-opener for him and that he wouldn't lie to her again. The truth always comes out.
Test Tube pulled back from the hug and cupped Fan's cheeks, gazing at him with love. She leaned in and pressed her lips against his, and Fan happily melted into the kiss. He felt incredibly lucky to have Test Tube as his girlfriend; with anyone else, this might have ended terribly. They stood there, kissing each other tenderly, with Fan draping his arms around Test Tube's neck as she moved her hands down to his waist. Fan needed this comfort. The camp had been too much for him, and he just wanted to go home.
After a long moment, Test Tube pulled back and smiled weakly, exhausted and ready for bed. "Should we stay in the luxury cabin or head back to our cabin? I miss the others," she chuckled softly.
"Whatever you want. I'm sure Knife won't mind... Actually, why don't we do a swapsy and get Taco and Microphone to take our place?" Fan suggested with a smile.
"What about Trophy?" Test Tube snickered.
"He shouldn't have bullied YinYang," Fan shrugged.
"Oh no... poor YinYang, they'll have even more girls to deal with—no all-boys club for them," Test Tube laughed softly. "Alright, why don't we go back and ask Knife what he thinks then? Either way, I'd like to go back to our own cabin," she confirmed.
Fan nodded in agreement, he wanted what Test Tube wanted. He had to make it up to her somehow... He took her hand as they walked back up to the cabins.
