After Tsukishima's confrontation on Ichigo and the Fullbringers.

Asuka had just got done questioning civilians that lived in the area about the "explosion" that took place. She was currently in a cafe, looking over everything she found out. Asuka already knew it was caused by the Fullbringers but she obviously couldn't bring that up to any of her superiors. She also hoped that she could get some sort of clue as to what Tsukishima was planning.

Asuka: *sigh* No luck... I'll send these notes to (F/N). Hopefully he'll find use for this.

Asuka got up and left the cafe, heading to the (L/N) residence. As Asuka got closer to the house she felt a presence behind her, but when she looked behind her, she saw nothing.

Asuka: M-maybe I'm just being paranoid.

Asuka turned back around and was face to face with Tsukishima. This scared Asuka as she took a few steps back.

Tsukishima: Hello there.

Asuka: W-what are you doing here?

Tsukishima: Hm? Have we met before?

Asuka: Don't play dumb. We may not know each other personally but I know for a fact you know who I am. Now what do you want?

Tsukishima simply smiled.

Tsukishima: I simply wanted to talk.

Asuka immediately reached for her phone but Tsukishima grabbed her hand.

Tsukishima: I can't have you calling (F/N).

Asuka: Let go of me!

Tsukishima took Asuka's cellphone and let go of her hand.

Asuka: H-hey...

Tsukishima: Now then, let's talk.

Asuka: I have nothing to talk to you about.

Tsukishima: But I have questions that I want to ask you.

Asuka: Well save it! I'm not answering anything.

Tsukishima completely ignored her and started to ask questions anyway.

Tsukishima: How did you meet (F/N)? You're his coworker, correct? Was it through your job or did you two know each other prior?

Asuka: I refuse to answer.

Tsukishima: Then what about your relationship with (F/N)? Is he just a coworker? A friend? Perhaps even a lover?

Asuka became extremely flustered.

Asuka: A-a L-lover!? Don't be ridiculous, we're just friends and good coworkers! T-thats all!

Tsukishima: Oh? You finally answered.

Asuka realized she just gave Tsukishima an answer and immediately shut her mouth.

Tsukishima: Then can you answer another question of mine? Do you trust (F/N)?

Asuka: What is your obsession with (F/N)? What exactly do you want from (F/N)? What do you gain from this game of cat and mouse? Messing with his family? What is your goal?

Tsukishima: I'll be sure to tell (F/N) the next time I see him. Now for my final question.

"Will you be my friend?"

Asuka: What?

Just then, Tsukishima released Asuka's hand and took the bookmark out of the book he had in his other hand. He then summoned his Fullbring, stabbing Asuka.

Asuka felt the blade pierce her chest but when she looked down, she didn't see a wound.

Asuka: What just...

Asuka looked up and saw that Tsukishima had magically disappeared.

Asuka: *thinking* What just happened...

Tatsuki: Hurry up will you?! You heard what (Y/N) said! We gotta leave as soon as possible!

Keigo: I heard you the first time!

Keigo finished putting all of his textbooks in his backpack.

Keigo: Alright, let's go!

The three friends were pretty much running home.

Mizuiro: We should stick together as a group. Tatsuki has a lot of people at her family dojo, so we should probably take her home first.

Tatsuki: That still leaves you two. One of you will eventually be alone. What will you do?

Keigo: Mizuiro, you live alone so you're at the biggest risk. Just stay at my place for the time being. Until everything blows over.

Mizuiro: Sure. I'll take you up on that offer.

Tatsuki: Then let's get going.

Keigo: Alright, the first stop is the Arisawa Dojo.

Unfortunately the trio didn't get very far as they saw a person matching the description (Y/N) gave them walking in their direction.

Keigo: Uh... Guys, please tell me I'm just being paranoid and that's not the guy (Y/N) told us to steer clear of.

Mizuiro: That's definitely him...

Tatsuki: Turn around. Let's take another route where there's more people.

The three students turned around but in an instant, Tsukishima was able to cut off their escape.

Tsukishima: Three of Ichigo and (Y/N)'s friends are here. I'm missing one of them but you three should suffice for now.

Tsukishima raised his sword preparing to attack.

Tsukishima: Next... the Kurosaki family...

(Timeskip) West Rukongai

Everyone that was willing to donate reiatsu for the spirit sword was now currently in Kukaku's house. To avoid being caught, they were in the room that held Kukaku's canon. The very same one that the group used to infiltrate Soul Society. Currently, Soi-Fon and Yoruichi were setting up a tent that had the ability to block anyone trying to sense what was on the inside.

Soi-Fon: Making me do this sort of thing...

Yoruichi: Didn't I already tell you? I'm not going on a walk like I usually do... In the end, you didn't ask any questions and persisted in saying "take me along too!" Isn't that right?

Soi-Fon: That's because...

Yoruichi was waiting for any excuse that Soi-Fon could make up.

Soi-Fon: Well, yes... However...

Soi-Fon gave an annoyed facial expression while Yoruichi laughed.

Yoruichi: Okay, the game's over! ...It isn't too early to start now. You should go back to your division, Soi Fon.

Soi-Fon was confused.

Soi-Fon: Why so suddenly...!?

Yoruichi: The person who is in charge of punishing those who are in violation of the law is you. As the commander of the Stealth Force, you cannot do anything that is against the law. Do you understand, Soi Fon?

Soi-Fon: But...!

Before Soi-Fon could argue, Yoruichi pushed her out of the tent.

"What is it? Are you done?"

Urahara said as he was working on something.

Yoruichi: Yes! Now Soi Fon, it's about time for you to leave!

Soi-Fon: Yoruichi! I didn't say that I was going to leave...!

Urahara: That's right... As commander of the punishment squad, you can't do this sort of thing.

Soi-Fon: Shut up! I don't need to hear it from you either!

Urahara: Yikes. And here I thought we were finally starting to get along...

Soi-Fon: I simply tolerate you. Don't think for a moment we're friends.

Yoruichi then started to push Soi-Fon yet again, however her phone started to ring.

Yoruichi: You might wanna take that.

Soi-Fon took out her phone and looked at the message and her eyes widened.

Soi-Fon: We have bad news.

Yoruichi: What is it?

Soi-Fon showed Yoruichi and Urahara the message she got. It was a message from Yachiru, Kenpachi's lieutenant, sending the details of the operation to the shinigamis willing to give their reiatsu to the spirit sword. However there was one problem.

She accidentally sent it to everyone. And that included Nemu Kurotsuchi . Mayuri Kurotsuchi 's lieutenant.

Yoruichi: Things just got complicated.

Urahara: Yeah... it did...

Just then (Y/N) and (F/N), who were patrolling the area, came back as they felt the tense atmosphere.

(Y/N): Did we miss something?

(F/N): Seems pretty important?

Urahara: It is. We need everyone here immediately.

Soi-Fon showed the father and son the text message she received and despite (F/N)'s confusion, (Y/N) understood the issue.

(Y/N): We're in a predicament... But I have an idea.

(Timeskip)

Ukitake was on his way to the First Division barracks to meet Kyoraku, however on his way there he ran into Mayuri.

Ukitake: Captain Kurotsuchi ? What are you doing here?

Mayuri rolled his eyes before speaking.

Mayuri: I could ask you the same thing.

Ukitake looked down and saw a phone in his hand. He was able to see the text message that got sent to Nemu.

Ukitake: I see... Please leave this to me! Kuchiki is my lieutenant after all...

Mayuri: Eh! Are you trying to protect your lieutenant, who's inciting everyone to break the law?

Ukitake: It's true that this is against the law... However, I don't feel as if Kuchiki has done anything wrong. As her Captain, I feel that I should do my part as well.

As Mayuri started to chew out Ukitake, the doors of the Barracks opened, revealing Yamamoto standing there. His lieutenant was standing right behind him.

Yamamoto: What a rare sight this is... what are you two doing at my doorstep.

Ukitake: Genryuusai-sensei, my lieutenant-

As Ukitake stepped forward to speak, his phone started to ring. It had a emergency notification

Yamamoto: Answer it.

Ukitake answered his phone.

Reporting to Captain Jushiro Ukitake of the Thirteenth Division! According to the substitute shinigami badge held by Ichigo Kurosaki, there are signs of the previous substitute shinigami! This is an emergency, please come immediately to the Research and Development Institute's Reiatsu Analysis Lab!

Ukitake: I understand! I will go immediately!

Mayuri got the same message.

Mayuri: Increase the number of people doing surveillance! I will come immediately!

Mayuri and Ukitake exchanged glances, but Mayuri gave a small glare at Ukitake before speaking to Yamamoto.

Mayuri: Looks like we got the same message... Since this is urgent, I will have to take my leave, Captain Commander.

Ukitake: I will take my leave as well, Genryuusai-sensei! I will come back to report later!

As Ukitake took his leave, he had only one thought in his mind.

Ukitake: Ichigo, I hope you choose the right choice as (Y/N)...

Back with the Urahara Shop Crew.

Many shinigamis were gathering around Kukaku's house to add their reiatsu to the spirit sword.

"Are you interested in literature from the living world? You can subscribe to any kind of magazines that you want --! There is absolutely no worry about privacy! Please come visit the YDM Bookstore!"

(Y/N) had asked Lisa, one of the former Vizards, to use her bookstore in the Soul Society as a cover up for the operation to throw off Mayuri. All of the walls on Kukaku's house were covered in posters advertising the store.

The earliest division to arrive was the fourth division as Unohana had dismissed them early in order to add their reiatsu to the sword. Everyone else came as soon as they were done working.

Urahara: (Y/N)! Ms. Kuchiki! You two have been a huge help.

Rukia: Thank you. I had no idea that it would spread to this degree.

(Y/N): Yeah, this is insane...

Yoruichi: The unfortunate part is that no matter what, we know that Mayuri is going to interfere. It's best for the reiatsu transfer to go as quickly as possible. We have (F/N) powering the tent with his nullification ability to buy us some time for now.

Urahara stood up and spoke into his speakerphone.

Urahara: Everyone in line! Please do not add your reiatsu slowly, bit by bit! Do it all in one go! Thank you so much for your cooperation!

Urahara sat back down.

Urahara: This way we should finish up earlier than expected.

Rukia: That would be for the best...

(Y/N): This is more stressful than it should be...

Just as things were looking good, the group saw something that they wish they didn't see.

A Black hell butterfly. A flock of them to be more specific. Black Hell butterflies are used to issue commands to the shinigami.

Yoruichi: It looks like we've been discovered.

"Will all the captains and lieutenants immediately gather at the First Division Barracks. Also, will Kisuke Urahara and (Y/N) (L/N) bring the sword in question to the captains' meeting area."

(Y/N): ...So what are the chances I'm stripped of my Substitute Shinigami title?

Yoruichi: If he's asking Kisuke to bring the sword with him, it doesn't look like he's going to punish anyone... Even the Head Captain has been changed.

(Y/N): Well that's reassuring at least. Maybe our luck isn't that bad after all.

Urahara: Since it's like that, we should hurry! We can't make the captain commander wait for long!

(Y/N) turned towards (F/N) and shouted.

(Y/N): Hold down the fort for us dad! We'll be right back!

(F/N): I don't have any other choice now do I?

(Y/N): Yoruichi will help out if you need it.

(Timeskip) First Division Barracks

All of the captains and lieutenants of the Gotei 13 had gathered in the First Division Barracks alongside Urahara and (Y/N) who were sitting in front of Yamamoto.

Yamamoto: Just now, we received news through Captains Kurotsuchi and Ukitake that the first substitute shinigami has made contact with Ichigo Kurosaki.

(Y/N) was surprised by the news.

(Y/N): *thinking* No way, since when? Don't tell me he's one of the fullbringers?

Hitsugaya: The first substitute shinigami... that's Ginjo Kugo!

Mayuri: Ichigo Kurosaki has finally fulfilled his purpose of being bait...

(Y/N) held his tongue but gave Mayuri a glare.

Ukitake remained silent and lowered his head with an extremely sad look on his face.

Yamamoto: Since he's already made contact with Ginjo Kugo, then we don't have a moment to waste. Take that sword! Kisuke Urahara!

Everybody in the room was shocked.

Unohana: Head Captain, this is-

Yamamoto: No matter what, we were all saved by Ichigo Kurosaki and (Y/N) (L/N). This time it is our turn to return the favor. Even if it requires violating our own laws, allowing such a debt to go unpaid would be the Gotei 13's eternal shame! This is the Head Captain's order! All captains and lieutenants of the Gotei 13 will add their reiatsu to this sword!

Yamamoto's voice echoed through the barracks.

Yamamoto: Even though I have received reports that many shinigami have already gone ahead and added their reiatsu without waiting for my order... I will not pursue this, only this one time.

Yamamoto then directed his attention towards Urahara.

Yamamoto: Kisuke Urahara! You must definitely help Ichigo Kurosaki regain his shinigami powers!

Urahara: I obey.

Yamamoto then turned towards (Y/N).

Yamamoto: (Y/N) (L/N)! Assist your fellow Substitute Shinigami in his fight against Ginjo Kujo.

(Y/N): I obey.

(Y/N) turned towards Urahara.

(Y/N): The quicker we complete this sword, the faster we can help Ichigo.

Urahara: Couldn't have said it better myself.
