After the (Y/N) and Luppi's deal was completed, (Y/N) turned towards Mayuri.

(Y/N): I guess it's my turn to uphold my side of the deal.

Mayuri: No need. I saw all I needed to know.

(Y/N): Huh?

Mayuri: Storing a soul within another soul was something that was right in front of me but I've yet to experiment with. Although there's a possibility that your ability is a bit more complicated than that, the concept is still the same. I believe it's feasible to replicate something similar.

(Y/N) didn't doubt Mayuri one bit.

Mayuri: Although this isn't an equal deal, I'll let it slide this once. Only because that servant of yours provided some entertainment in regards to Roka Paramia. Although I will be keeping the body of Cien Granz for further experimentation.

(Y/N): I-I see...

(Y/N) could only thank Wiz for sparing him the wrath of Mayuri's experiments. (Y/N) made it a point to leave the laboratory as quickly as possible before Mayuri changed his mind. It's rare for Mayuri to be as charitable as he is right now, so (Y/N) would take advantage of it. He got what he came for so he had no need to stick around. Besides, he needed to catch up with his friends.

Upon leaving The Department of R&D, (Y/N) thought to himself.

(Y/N): *thinking* Now where would Ichigo, Rukia and Renji be right about now? I'll just call them. Though if I had to guess, they'd probably be at the Squad 6 barracks. They all would find some common ground there.

In the middle of his thoughts, (Y/N) bumped into someone.

(Y/N): Oh, I'm sorry. I wasn't paying attention.

???: No, it's alright. I wasn't paying attention either.

(Y/N) looked at the person in question and thought the person looked familiar. He looked about his age. He had dark skin and black hair that was in a ponytail.

(Y/N) knew he never met this person before, but he looked similar to someone he did know.

(Y/N): Um, this may be a weird question but do you know someone named Yoruichi Shihoin by any chance?

???: You know Yoruichi? She's my sister!

It all made sense to (Y/N) now.

(Y/N): By any chance, is your name Yushiro?

???: You know who I am?

(Y/N): Yeah, Yoruichi told me about you. My name's (Y/N) (L/N). I'm one of Yoruichi's apprentices. It's nice to meet you.

Yushiro: You're (Y/N)?!

(Y/N): Yeah-

Yushiro: I know this might be sudden since we only just met but will you have a spar with me?

(Y/N): Huh? Wait hold on, where's this coming from?

Yushiro: If I can beat one of Sis' best students, she'll surely see how much stronger I've become!

Ah, so that's what it is. (Y/N) didn't think Yushiro had a sister complex but he definitely had an overattachment of some sort. However, (Y/N) couldn't possibly fight Yushiro for several reasons.

One: He needed to save energy. His meeting with Unohana later meant that she must have gotten permission for training. He needed to save as much energy as possible.

Two: With Yoruichi's banishment meant that naturally Yushiro is the next head of the Shihoin clan or is the up incoming head. Or at least that would be the case if Yoruichi has other siblings that he isn't aware of. Whatever the case may be, getting caught up in a fight with a nobleman would get him in some serious trouble with Central 46 in some way (He believed that he could at least explain himself to the Court Guard Squad).

Three: Yushiro looked like he was raring to fight in a public area.

(Y/N): Sorry, but I'll have to decline.

Yushiro: W-What?! H-hold on-

Yushiro then tripped over his own foot, falling on his face. (Y/N) helped Yushiro up once again. Once on his feet again, Yushiro pleaded to (Y/N) for a second time.

Yushiro: P-please, wait! Sis always talked about how strong you were during training! Do you think I'd be able to get to your level?

(Y/N): I don't really know how strong you are... But if you're being trained by Yoruichi, I don't see how you wouldn't. Besides, you're a part of one of the noble clans. They are famous for having some of the highest spiritual energies in the Soul Society. The only way I can even compete with forces like that is due to my hybrid nature.

Yushiro: You think so?

(Y/N): Yeah. We might not know each other but Yoruichi told me you knew how to use Shunko. And you learned it before I did, so you're already a lot tougher than you give yourself credit for.

Yushiro: She did? Wait, does that mean you also know how to use it?

(Y/N): I hate to admit it, but I've only learned how to use it last week...

Yushiro: Then how about this! Why don't you come to the Shihoin Household and train with me!

(Y/N) was honestly caught off guard by the offer.

(Y/N): That sounds good and all, but I actually have training with someone else later today...

Yushiro: Eh? Come on, just one round of sparring!

(Y/N): You do realize you're essentially inviting a stranger into your home, right?

Yushiro: But you're friends with Sis! That means you're trustworthy enough!

(Y/N): *thinking* I think I finally understand what people mean when they say I'm too trusting in others.

(Y/N) decided to give up and accepted Yushiro's offer.

(Y/N): Fine, I'll spar with you. But only one round, alright? I have a really important training session later that I can't miss.

Yushiro: You have my word! Come on, (Y/N)! Follow me!

(Meanwhile) With Ichigo, Rukia, and Renji

The trio was currently making their way to the squad 6 barracks, like (Y/N) predicted. On their way there, Renji spoke up.

Renji: You think (Y/N) will be alright?

Ichigo: (Y/N) usually knows what he's doing so I'm sure he'll be alright.

Rukia: I agree. Though it is still a bit concerning. Captain Kurotsuchi doesn't care if he's experimenting on his ally or foe. Who knows what (Y/N) is currently experiencing in that lab.

Just then, Ichigo got a text message on his phone.

Ichigo: Huh? It's from (Y/N)...

Rukia: Really? What does it say?

Ichigo opened the message.

"Yo, strawberry! Good news! I'm not dead. I somehow got out of the lab, scot free."

Ichigo texted back.

"Where are you now???"

"On my way to the Shihoin Household."

"???"

"What are you doing going there?"

"Long story short, I ran into Yoruichi's brother while leaving the R&D lab."

"And he just invited you to his house?"

"He seems like the type of guy to act before thinking

....

...

"Oh, I'm almost there. BRB"

Ichigo: That guy, I swear. You leave him alone for a second and he goes off and makes new friends.

Rukia: What's the update on (Y/N)?

Ichigo: Apparently he's on his way to Yoruichi's brother's house.

Rukia and Renji looked at each other in shock.

Renji: Why the heck is he going there?

Rukia: I'm curious, myself. Nobody can just waltz into a noble household.

Ichigo: Apparently he was invited by Yoruichi's brother after running into him.

Renji: Huh, I didn't know they were friends...

Ichigo: They aren't. Until the incident with Azashiro, we didn't even know Yoruichi had a brother. We weren't introduced to him either.

Rukia: What? If that's true then why would Yushiro invite him to the Shihoin Household?

Ichigo: Hell if I know. (Y/N) just makes friends easily like that. Anyway, let's go. (Y/N) will meet up with us later.

Renji: If you say so.

The trio continued to the Squad 6 barracks. From some ways away, Soi-Fon, who was just finishing up patrol, noticed Ichigo, Rukia, and Renji.

Soi-Fon: *thinking* Ichigo's here? Does that mean (Y/N) is here as well?

(Meanwhile) With (Y/N) and Yushiro.

(Y/N) and Yushiro were now on the property of the Shihoin Household. (Y/N) was in awe at how grand and expensive the mansion was. As the two boys walked through the garden of the noble house (Y/N) noticed many maids and butlers.

(Y/N): *thinking* Yoruichi grew up like this? Hard to believe since she's always cool or witty. Now that I think about it, Rukia is from a Noble house as well... I don't think I'll ever grow used to having all of this expensive stuff.

(Y/N) was taken out of his thoughts as he heard Yushiro speak up.

Yushiro: We're almost at the training grounds.

(Y/N): Do you think it'll be big enough to handle two Shunko users?

Yushiro: Probably.

(Y/N): Probably? Geez, I hope we don't get carried away and accidentally destroy something important...

Yushiro: Don't worry about it, if something gets destroyed we can just have it repaired.

(Y/N) *thinking* He should be more concerned about how he spends his money. But considering he's been in charge since Yoruichi's banishment means he probably knows what he's doing.

(Y/N) decided he'd try his best to keep the fight as tame as possible to prevent anything from being destroyed.

Yushiro: We're here.

(Y/N) looked up and saw a massive field behind the Shihoin house and (Y/N) was taken aback.

(Y/N): *thinking* This could give the training grounds under Urahara Shop a run for its money. But then again, they're nobility. They can afford something this huge.

(Y/N): It's definitely spacious.

Yushiro: So, are you ready?

(Y/N): Yeah. Let's get started.

(Y/N) and Yushiro situated themselves on opposite ends of the battleground as they stretched.

(Y/N): *thinking* I'm going into this battle blind. I don't know if Yushiro uses the same kind of Shunko as Yoruichi or if it's a different element like me and Soi-Fon's. Either way, Shunko as an ability is extremely strong and if I'm not on guard, One of us can accidentally kill the other.

(Y/N): On the count of three?

Yushiro: Sure thing!

(Y/N): Three...

Two...

One...

Go!

At that moment both fighters activated Shunko and dashed towards each other. In (Y/N)'s mind, he already knew he was at a disadvantage.

(Y/N): *thinking* Shunko is already activated so stepping into my shadow won't forcefully nullify it. And I don't have the luxury of using a strategy like using the sun to increase the size of my shadow like I did with Azashiro. The speed increase that Shunko gives would allow Yushiro to keep up with me pretty easily. I just have to play defensive for right now.

(Y/N) then noticed the reishi that sprouted from Yushiro's back. While Yoruichi's reishi came in the form of lightning and Soi-Fon's wind, Yushiro's came in the form of smoke.

(Y/N): *thinking* Smoke? Either his Shunko is quite literally a smoke element or it's a result of-

(Y/N)'s thoughts were interrupted as Yushiro's fist came in contact with (Y/N) as the substitute shinigami blocked the punch. However, the moment the two came in contact with each other, a massive combustion erupted from the two.

Yushiro: Shunkō: Bakuen Musō

(Y/N) was pushed away because of the explosion of flames.

(Y/N): *thinking * Of course he has a Shunko that can potentially counter mine. Flames don't have shadows since they emit light. But the item fire burns and the objects in its vicinity can. I can also use the shadow from the smoke that the fire causes. The unfortunate thing is that this field has nothing to burn.

This battle ground was extremely clean. He couldn't find anything burnable in sight. In hindsight, maybe that was a good thing. He didn't have to worry about accidentally causing a massive fire. (Y/N) would just have to be creative in how he can use the sun to his advantage.

(Y/N) dashed towards Yushiro and threw a punch aimed at Yushiro's chest. Yushiro blocked the punch but (Y/N) immediately swept Yushiro's leg's as a follow up attack. To stop himself from hitting the ground, Yushiro caught himself by standing on his hands before swinging his leg at (Y/N). (Y/N) attempted to block the attack but the kick broke through his guard, causing another explosion in the process.



(Y/N) took a step back.

(Y/N): *thinking* Maybe I'm just thinking too shallowly. Increasing the size of my shadow isn't the only way to make use of my technique. Why not increase the size of my opponent's shadow as well. As long as my shadow can make contact with theirs that's all that matters.

Yushiro proceeded to go on the offensive, bombarding (Y/N) with multiple attacks. (Y/N) blocked all of them, but the resulting explosion from each attack was taking its toll on (Y/N).



(Y/N) waited patiently as the moment Yushiro threw another kick. (Y/N) caught the attack and used this chance to throw Yushiro in the air. As Yushiro soared through the air, he abruptly stopped mid air as (Y/N) caught Yushiro by grabbing onto his shadow. (Y/N) then jumped towards Yushiro and landed a barrage of attacks, knocking Yushiro to the ground.



As (Y/N) landed he quickly made his way to Yushiro to see if he was okay.

(Y/N): Hey Yushiro... You alright? I hope I didn't use too much force.

Yushiro: I'm okay, but man... that was cool. How'd you do that?

(Y/N): Oh... With Shunko, I can pretty much interact with anyone's shadow, including my own. But I wasn't expecting a Shunko using fire. An attack that explodes on impact definitely takes a toll on someone overtime. It's really strong.

Yushiro: You think so?

(Y/N): Yeah, see for yourself.

(Y/N) showed his arms as the sleeves of his Shihakusho were burnt off and his arms had burn marks.

(Y/N): If you continue to improve, you can have the most deadly Shunko out of any of us Shunko users.

Yushiro then started to tear up. (Y/N) wasn't expecting Yushiro to cry at all.

(Y/N): H-hey, what's the matter?

Yushiro: You're such a nice guy!

(Y/N): I was being honest. You don't have to cry. Just take the compliment, alright.

(Y/N) definitely wasn't expecting this to be what Yushiro was like. Sure, Yoruichi told (Y/N) a little bit about his personality, but this was still not what he was expecting.

Yushiro wiped his tears as he now had a determined look on his face.

Yushiro: Next time, I'll win. I promise!

(Y/N): Well, I'll look forward to our next fight, Yushiro.

The two boys gave each other a handshake, as a promise to battle again.
