As (Y/N)'s spiritual pressure shook the Soul Society, everyone felt a heavy pressure on their backs.

Shinji: That some sinister spiritual pressure you're giving off, (Y/N). I hope it's enough to take them out...

Ukitake: I do hope you and Ichigo succeed where the Head Captain didn't. We can use a miracle right about now.

Unohana: Stay safe, (Y/N). Don't allow anger to blind you and cost you your life. Preserving your life should be your first priority.

Soi-Fon: Kick their ass, (Y/N). And don't go dying on me... You have a promise to uphold.

As (Y/N) flew through the Soul Society he saw all the bodies that laid upon the ground. Hearing the screams and cries of the shinigami in the Garganta was haunting enough but seeing it in person made (Y/N) stomach turn.

(Y/N) heard the story of what the Shinigamis did to the Quincies, but to think that the survivors would go out of their way to not only go after Shinigamis but Hollows too felt like they wanted more than just revenge.

Meanwhile the Quincy King, who had just finished killing Yamamoto, were getting ready to leave. However...

Quincy King: Those Spiritual Pressures... Yes, it must be Ichigo Kurosaki and (Y/N) (L/N).

Right-Hand Man: Shall I purge them?

Quincy King: No. Let's go.

(Y/N) eventually caught up to Ichigo as the both simultaneously made their entrances. The landed directly in front of the Quincy King and his right-hand man.

Right-Hand Man: Your Majesty, I'll handle this...

However the Quincy King simply stopped him from walking towards the two Substitute Shinigamis.



(Let him cook)

Ichigo Kurosaki... (Y/N) (L/N)... I don't know how you two did it, but I'm impressed you both broke out of Quilge's "Jail." But do you both really intend to fight me in that ragged state?

Ichigo: Are you the enemy leader?

Quincy King: The "enemy," huh? I am. But you could also say that I'm not.

Ichigo: Cut the crap! I'm asking if you're the one who wrecked the Soul Society!



Quincy King: I did indeed.

(Y/N): Was all this carnage for revenge?

Quincy King: One of the few reasons, yes. Are you saying I shouldn't avenge my fallen comrades who had their lives taken by the Shinigami?

(Y/N): All you're doing now is starting a never ending cycle of war between Quincies and Shinigamis.

Quincy King: Nothing but hypocrisy. You claim that I should forgive and forget what I've lost yet you jumped at the chance to kill the King of Hueco Mundo after finding out the struggle your mother was put through because of his actions. We're not that different, you and I.

(Y/N) froze in shock.

(Y/N): How... How do you know about my mother?

Quincy King: Even if you aren't a Quincy, you hold the name of one of us, so I thought I would at least look into you and give you a chance to join me. After all, despite being the enemy to our kind, I dislike conflict.

(Y/N): You expect me to trust you after what you did to all of my friends?!

Ichigo: (Y/N)'s right! We can't just sit here and forgive you after what you just did!

Both Ichigo and (Y/N) power skyrocketed.

Right-Hand Man: Your Majesty...

Quincy King: As you can see, Haschwalth... they leave me with no choice. I will crush both of them here.

Ichigo and (Y/N) both rushed the Quincy King, launching an onslaught of attacks, however the King blocked all of their attacks.



(Y/N) then fired a Gran Rey Cero directly at the King, but the Cero was swatted away with ease.

The King then appeared behind (Y/N). The two clashed blades but (Y/N) was overpowered and sent flying.

Ichigo tried to take advantage of the King's temporary distraction but the King saw Ichigo coming, and knocked him away as well, causing a cloud of dust and debris.

However, from the dust cloud, Ichigo started to charge his reiatsu. Simultaneously, (Y/N) partially summoned Ginjo, only summoning his Zanpakuto.

(Y/N): Getsuga-

Ichigo: TENSHO!

Both Ichigo and (Y/N), with use of Ginjo's Zanpakuto, fired a Getsuga Tensho at the same time at the King. The resulting explosion could be seen by most of the Seireitei.

(Y/N): *mutters* Did we get him?

(Y/N)'s question was immediately answered as The King flew out of the smoke and grabbed him by the throat. The King as little as a burnt arm from the tag team attack. In response, (Y/N) grabbed onto the arm the King was using to choke him.

Quincy King: You won't escape my grasp so easily.

(Y/N): Heh, I wasn't planning to... Cero Reversión

Upon hearing the attack name, the King immediately put up a barrier of his own. The King held out his free hand as Spiritual Energy shot through his fingers, creating a Quincy symbol onto the ground.

Quincy King: Kirchenlied: Sankt Zwinger



The Quincy King stared directly into (Y/N)'s eyes.

Quincy King: Are you sure you want to go through with that attack? Kirchenlied: Sankt Zwinger will tear you apart since you stand in the midst of it.

(Y/N): I'd sacrifice my life if it meant taking you out with me...

Quincy King: Are you sure this attack of yours will succeed?

(Y/N): I won't know if I don't try...

In that moment both (Y/N) and the King were engulfed in two different colors of light, one of bright blue and the other of dark blue. Both Cero Reversión and Kirchenlied: Sankt Zwinger activated at the same, causing a pillar of spiritual energy to explode in the resulting area.

As the light faded, the only thing that stood there was the King in tattered clothes, as (Y/N) was reduced to nothing but a small spirit...

Quincy King: Kirchenlied: Sankt Zwinger is the ultimate defense skill of the Quincy. It combines both defense and offense. Stepping into it would mean being torn apart by the Light of God. You were doomed from the very start. Though I have to admit, that technique could have turn the fight in your favor if I hadn't use my ultimate defense.

The Quincy King then turned towards Ichigo.

Quincy King: What will you do now?

Ichigo simply charged back in to attack the King but was blocked and thrown to the ground. The King then stabbed Ichigo in the neck with his sword.



The Quincy King then turned to his right hand man, Haschwalth.

Quincy King: He should still be alive. Carry him to the castle. We'll revive him and put him under my command.

Haschwalth: Yes, Your Majesty.

However, Ichigo was still alive as the sword didn't pierce deep enough to cut into Ichigo's neck.



Quincy King: Impossible...! Is that... Blut Vene?!

Ichigo used this chance to fire a Getsuga Tensho at the King from point blank range.



Haschwalth: Your Majesty!

The King came out of the attack with an injury as substantial as a papercut.

Quincy King: Should have known better...

Ichigo: What's that? You think you won just because you withstood a few of my attacks and survived an attack from (Y/N)? He'll be back before you know it...

Quincy King: That's not what I meant. I was right... I wasn't imagining it.

Ichigo: What are you talking about?

(End Song)

The King started to explain himself.

Quincy King: It seems that using Quilge Opie to keep you at bay was a mistake... I should have used an Arrancar instead of a trueborn Quincy. Because of that, the memories within your Spiritual Pressure have awakened too soon. You kept releasing your Spiritual Pressure to the limit while in contact with Quilge's "Jail" in order to destroy it. The bits of Spiritual Pressure left behind from this explosive release mixed with some of Quilge's Spiritual Pressure as it returned to your body. His Quincy Spiritual Pressure slowly seeped into the depths of your soul, drawing out memories within your Spiritual Pressure from its core... Quilge's "Jail" is meant to restrain enemies. It is unable to contain Quincies!

Ichigo wasn't sure how to handle this revelation.

Ichigo: What... are you talking about? Memories within my Spiritual Pressure? What's this about Quincies?

Quincy King: I see... You don't know anything about yourself, do you? Not even about... your own mother.



Ichigo started to panic as he remembered the death of his own mother.

Quincy King: My plan was to take you back and slowly re-educate you, but I no longer have the luxury of doing that. I've decided to force you into submission and drag you with me!

Ichigo: What the hell are you talking about?!

Quincy King: I'll tell you at the Wandenreich.

"Ichigo isn't going anywhere with you!"

(Y/N), finally resurrected, stood behind the King, panting for air. The nature of the King's Quincy spell made resurrecting much harder than (Y/N) expected, causing him to expend more Spiritual energy than normal.

The King activated another spell in response to (Y/N)'s reentry of the fight.

Quincy King: Qualkreis!

Multiple lighting bolts surrounded the two Substitute Shinigamis before taking the shape of bow and arrows created from reishi. All of the bows took aim at Ichigo and (Y/N).

Quincy King: Now then... Show me what you've got, Ichigo Kurosaki! (Y/N) (L/N)!

The reishi arrows fired at the two Shinigamis as Ichigo destroyed the arrows heading his way with a Getsuga Tensho and (Y/N) fired multiple Ceros at the arrows, causing an explosion upon impact.

Some of the arrows made contact with some of the debris before homing onto Ichigo, colliding with him. (Y/N) on the other hand, took his scythe and slash through any oncoming debris. However, as (Y/N) was distracted, The King summoned his Heilig Pfeil, taking the form of a broadsword made of reishi and landed struck (Y/N)'s neck. Despite using Hierro at the last moment to protect himself from the attack, the King's overwhelming strength overpowered (Y/N)'s hard skin and nearly removed (Y/N)'s head from his body.

Through sheer will power, (Y/N) tried to counterattack with his scythe. The King was forced to remove his broadsword to protect himself. The King easily blocked (Y/N)'s scythe. The attack was so powerful that the broadsword simply broke the blade of the scythe. The King then kicked (Y/N)'s nearly lifeless body next to Ichigo.

(Y/N) couldn't breathe. If he moved anymore, his head might have fallen off of his body. (Y/N) could feel himself fading in and out of consciousness.

The King walked towards Ichigo as he picked him off the ground while pointing his sword to Ichigo's neck.

Quincy King: I will pierce you this time! Don't assume you can evade it with your Blut Vene! My–

However the Quincy King dropped Ichigo's body as a shadowy substance started to fall off of his body and cover his own shadow.

Quincy King: This is...

Haschwalth: It is time, Your Majesty. We've reached our limit for working outside of the Schatten Bereich. Please return to the Wandenreich.

Quincy King: Impossible. We should still have time to–

The King then came to a sudden realization.

Quincy King: Of course. Sosuke Aizen... This is one of his tricks. During the few minutes I was in contact with him, he slightly altered my senses... Haschwalth, you knew but kept quiet, didn't you?

Haschwalth: I figured it would be pointless to try to stop you.

Quincy King: Well, it doesn't matter. Let's go.

"Stop!"

The King and Haschwalth turned around to see Ichigo barely standing.

Ichigo: You think I'd let you go? After what you did to the Soul Society... there's no way I'd let you escape!

The two Quincies ignored him and continued to walk away.

Ichigo: I said stop!

Ichigo ran towards them, attempting to fight again, however, Haschwalth stepped in and easily destroyed Ichigo's zanpakuto with his own sword. Haschwalth then sheathed his sword and returned with the King to retreat.

Quincy King: Farewell, Ichigo Kurosaki. I'll come back for you again. Heal your wounds and wait... my son, born in the dark... The same goes for you, (Y/N)... My son, engulfed in evil...

And with that the Quincy King left...

Ichigo stood in place, dumbfounded. It took him a few seconds before he remembered (Y/N)'s horrendous condition and rushed towards him.

Ichigo: (Y/N)! Whatever you do, don't die! I-I'll go get help!

(Y/N) couldn't hear Ichigo as he struggled to keep himself conscious. There was only one thing going through his mind at this moment.

"Heal..."

(Y/N) focused the last bit of his spiritual energy to slowly reattach the rest of his head back to his body. It was a miracle he could even move his hand, let alone survive nearly being beheaded.

However, (Y/N)'s mind was slowly slipping away as he reverted from his resurreccion, now only in Bankai.

"Don't die... Heal..."

Those were the only things that mattered to (Y/N) right now. However slowly but surely, (Y/N)'s eyes closed as his consciousness slowly faded away.

...

...

...

"Am I dead..."

(Y/N) couldn't see anything. He tried his best to open his eyes again but to no avail.

"I failed... They'll return and finish what they started... All because I didn't stop them..."

"Are you truly going to give up? Now of all times?"

"Huh?"

(Y/N) knew that voice. All too well. But why was he hearing it now?

Just then (Y/N) felt like he could open his eyes. And that he did, however all he could see was darkness. He could see his own body however. (Y/N) then turned around to the source of the voice.

"I really am dead if I'm seeing you again."

"Not quite. Although, if you keep up that pessimistic attitude, you definitely will be dead. I raised you better than that, young man!"

"How do I know if you're even real? How do I know if I'm dead or if I'm just dreaming all of this?"

"*sigh* You've been through a lot haven't you?"

"Understatement of the century..."

The figure walked towards (Y/N) and embraced him in a hug.

"You shouldn't be so hard on yourself, (Y/N). You've done so well for yourself ever since I left."

"I try to convince myself everyday that I've been doing better, but... I still miss you mom..."

Boy do I have a lot to talk about... First of all, the eptitat "My Son engulfed in Darkness" that Yhwach gave to (Y/N) is simply because (Y/N) is not a Hollow with no Quincy blood, but still considers him a "son" because he holds a surname of a Quincy family. And according to Quilge, the Quincies consider the Shinigamis (and by proxy the hollows as well) as evil, while considering themselves "Holy and Righteous".

This little interaction would lead to something significant later on in the arc.

Also as a fun little thing. I always wanted to write a scene where both (Y/N) and Ichigo used a Getsuga Tensho. So I threw it in there.

Cero Reversion finally makes a second appearance. Although, thanks to how busted Yhwach is, it didn't work out. But to fair, had it not been for Sankt Zwinger Yhwach could've actually done something no one else had and that's deal legitimate damage to Yhwach.

Also, I couldn't wait to write the (Y/N) "death" scene. I had this idea since the arrancar arc and held onto it for this specific moment.
