(During (F/N)'s and Ryuken's first encounter.) (M/N) POV

The high spiritual pressure zoomed its way towards (M/N)'s location. (M/N) wasn't sure if she was being paranoid or if the person in question actually knew she was here, but the arrancar didn't want to stay to find out.

(M/N): I was lucky enough to find a place that was safe for a week but I guess my time's up. I gotta get going.

(M/N) separated from her Gigai in order to create a Garganta. As the black void opened in front of (M/N), the arrancar attempted to walk through but she hesitated.

Was she really ready to fight everyday in her condition?

Was she about to throw away the freedom she finally had?

(M/N) would be lying if she said she wasn't getting attached to the World of the Living quickly. Maybe she was just lucky to find people she deemed "friendly".

...Well (F/N) definitely made a lot of fuss about what was considered "manners" and "proper etiquette" but (F/N) was willing to shelter her and he wasn't a complete asshole. And she didn't have to worry about (F/N) backstabbing her. He wasn't strong enough to do so.

(M/N): ...Ugh, I'm about to do something stupid...

(M/N) closed the Garganta and stood her ground.

(M/N): *thinking* It's either this or go to Hueco Mundo and possibly die to other Hollows or Aizen and his goons. I think I'll just take my chances here. What's one more fight to the death in the World of the Living...

The moment that thought crossed (M/N)'s mind, she saw the handle of the front door turn in a weird way before the door slowly opened up. Daichi picked the lock to the front door, letting himself into the house. The moment the door opened up, Daichi looked directly into (M/N)'s eyes.

Daichi: Well, I wasn't expecting to see an arrancar in the World of the Living. It's rare enough to see a Vasto Lorde. An arrancar is almost a once in a lifetime discovery. I'd love to know how you tick. However...

Daichi's suddenly became more serious.

Daichi: That comes second in priority to killing you. But I guess I should ask out of courtesy. What did you do to the human that was living here?

(M/N): The person living here is none of your concern. You barged into someone else's home so that makes you an invader. Therefore I have the right to protect myself.

Daichi: Me? An invader? That's rich coming from the Hollow!

Daichi swiftly drew a Seele Schneider from the inside of his coat while (M/N) activated her resurreccion.

Daichi swung the blade at (M/N) but the winged arrancar jumped over the elderly quincy to evade the attack. (M/N) landed and backed up until she was completely in the living room of the house.

Despite his old age, Daichi approached (M/N) with insane speed and attempted to stab his Seele Schneider into (M/N)'s head. Thankfully, (M/N)'s quick reflexes allowed her to narrowly dodge them.

(M/N) then parried the blade by swatting the silver handle away, being careful not to touch the reishi emitting from the weapon. (M/N) then went on the offensive, using that slight opening to sneak behind Daichi and wrap one of her arms around his neck. Using her free arm, (M/N) attempted to use her talon-like fingers to gouge out Daichi's eyes, but Daichi used the handle of Seele Schnider to block the sharp claws.

Daichi: I truly am getting up there in age. I'm not moving like I used to.

(M/N): Struggling to fight like you used to, huh? That makes two of us.

The stalemate broke as Daichi forcefully threw (M/N) over his shoulders, onto the ground.

(M/N) didn't stay prone for too long, as she got up and repositioned herself. Daichi threw his Seele Schneider in an attempt to stop (M/N) from creating space between the two, however (M/N) dodged the blade with ease. Daichi wasn't far behind as he quickly recovered his blade that was stuck into the wall and landed the first clean hit in the fight, cutting horizontally in the stomach.

Daichi swung a second time but this time, the attack was blocked by (M/N)'s wings as she used Hierro to use them as a shield.

Now it was (M/N)'s turn to turn the fight in her favor as a few feathers from her wings fell off and became projectiles that were sharp as blades. One by one, feathers started to pierce Daichi. Daichi got pierced in his side and his left shoulder before he was able to defend himself by using the Seele Schneider to reflect the rest of the incoming feathers.

What Daichi didn't know was that (M/N) still had control of those feathers and redirected their trajectory back to him, causing the rest of the feathers to pierce him in the back.

...

...

...

Or so (MN) thought. The feathers that were supposed to pierce Daichi bounced off as Daichi activated Blut Vene.

Daichi: I haven't fought an opponent like you in a long time. It's a shame I can't enjoy it until I know for sure my son's alive.

(M/N): The hell are you yapping about?

(End Song)

Outside of the house.

Emi arrived a few houses away from (F/N)'s house and somehow she was able to still hear the commotion. Emi knew going any closer would be irresponsible. Emi took the time to call her son, hoping he was still alright.

With (F/N)

(F/N): PICK UP THE PHONE, OLD MAN! YOU KNOW HOW TO DO THAT MUCH!

(F/N) called his father multiple times, but of course, he got no answer. Although (F/N) now knew about his father's secret life as some sort of demon hunter, he knew more about (M/N)'s abilities than his father's. (F/N) doesn't know what his father was capable of, but he knew (M/N) could shoot laser beams that could demolish buildings. It also didn't help that his father was an elderly man. To say he feared for his father's life was an understatement.

If his father wouldn't answer his phone he needed to call someone else. (F/N) dial the phone number to his own house, hoping (M/N) would answer it.

(F/N): Please tell me she knows the basics of answering a phone. I can at least warn her to not kill that senile old man. Hopefully she knows how to hold back...

Back to (M/N) and Daichi

(M/N): Explain yourself.

Daichi: Now you're willing to talk? Fine, I'll humor you for a minute. I want to know what an Arrancar is doing in my son's house.

(M/N) was confused. (F/N) was a son of a Quincy? But he doesn't have the same spiritual pressure, let alone use a bow and arrow.

(M/N): Let me get this straight. Your son is (F/N)?

Daichi: You know his name? How come? My son cannot see spirits.

(M/N) knew exactly where the misunderstanding was coming from. However, that doesn't mean she was in the clear. The man in front of her was still a Quincy. Even if he knew (F/N) was safe, nothing was stopping him from killing her.

(M/N): Well you better get to believing it. That idiot threw himself into a battle with every race you can think of. Shinigami, Arrancars and Quincies. I hate to admit it but him keeping me here is a blessing, and I can't let you kill me because of your clan's hatred for our kind. So either stand down or I'll kill you.

...

...

...

Daichi then laughed hysterically.

Daichi: I didn't know you had a sense of humor. You? Kill me? That's hysterical! But the story seems like something my son would somehow get himself into...

(M/N): What's so funny?! If you haven't noticed I haven't used most of my arsenal of attacks against you!

Daichi: And I haven't used my Heilig Bogen. Besides, my Seele Schnieder has been stealing your reishi after every hit. You're in a worse position than I am.

(M/N): And I've been refraining from using my full strength! If you haven't noticed, this is probably the only place I could reside in in peace! I'd rather it not be destroyed.

Daichi then looked around the house. Most of the damage in the house was unfortunately made from his own weapon. It also explained (M/N)'s weird movements.

Daichi: Seems I underestimated you a little bit. Your choice to move the fight to the living room was to keep the entrance intact. Even those weird feathers of yours never actually made contact with the house. You showed precise control over every single movement you made.

(M/N): And I can do much more unrestrained so don't test me!

Daichi: I'd recommend you do the same!

(M/N) glared at Daichi while Daichi looked at her unamused. The tension was broken when the two heard the phone ring.

Daichi then gave (M/N) a casual glance.

Daichi: Answer it. You claimed to live here, correct? Then it shouldn't be a problem.

(M/N) looked at Daichi suspiciously.

(M/N): How do I know you won't try to stab me in the back?

Daichi dropped his Seele Schneider and casually lounged on the living room couch.

Daichi: I'm confident that I can still win without it... Go on, answer it.

(M/N) cautiously walked to the phone and picked it up weirdly. Before (M/N) could put the phone to her ears, (F/N) shouted at the top of his lungs.

(F/N): NO TIME TO TALK! LISTEN UP, IF SOME OLD GUY TRIES TO FIGHT YOU, DON'T KILL HIM!

(F/N) spoke so loud, even his father could hear him. Hearing (F/N) gave Daichi reassurance that his son was safe. It also gave credibility to (M/N)'s statement.

Meanwhile, (M/N) responded to (F/N).

(M/N): You're late! Me and that old guy alright fought it out! You're lucky I'm indebted to you or else he and this whole place would've been turned to dust!

(F/N): YOU WHAT?! WHERE HIS HE?!

(M/N): Stop screaming will you?! He's alive.

(F/N): You made it sound like you knocked him out or something... Don't forget, he's still human. I don't want the old man to be paralyzed.

Daichi, at this point, decided to walk to the phone and speak with his son.

Daichi: My feelings are hurt that you think I'd kick the bucket so easily.

(F/N): I can't believe I'm saying this but it's actually good to hear your voice for once.

Daichi: H-hey now... That implies you don't enjoy my company on a regular basis-

(M/N): Do you hear this guy, (F/N)? He thinks I'm a pushover!

(F/N): Yeah yea, whatever. You two can argue about who's stronger later. What's more important is mom. I hope she didn't get caught up in your little scuffle.

Daichi: Your mother is safe, don't worry.

(F/N): And my house?

...

...

(F/N): I hope you're paying for the damages.

Daichi: There's something else that we should discuss.

(F/N): Oh yeah, it's extremely important that we sit down and have a long lengthy talk, "dad".

Daichi: Then I'll wait for your return.

Daichi took the phone from (M/N)'s hands and hung up abruptly.

(Meanwhile) Urahara POV

The shopkeeper was at the scene of (F/N) and Ryuken's battle with the hollows. Yoruichi, still in cat form, still sat on Urahara's shoulder.

Yoruichi: So what's the deal with this (F/N) fellow?

Urahara: His power is unique. But upon closer inspection, it almost seems as if (F/N) is bringing the soul out of the weapon and boosting it with his own strength. At one point the gun itself changed its form.

Yoruichi: So that change in form... Would you say that's his true power?

Urahara: I'm certain.

Yoruichi: So the sooner he learns how to control his spiritual energy, the closer he'll get to learning how to use that bizarre power...

Urahara: Looks like we're on the same page.

Urahara then got ready to leave.

Urahara: Let's catch up with (F/N) and those kids. Seems like they're about to have an interesting conversation.

(Timeskip) (F/N) POV

(F/N) was now sitting in his damaged living room alongside (M/N) (now in her Gigai once again), his mother and his father. True to his word, Ryuken also came along, which in turn meant Kanae and Masaki came along as well. Both father and son came clean about their experiences with the supernatural. With tensions between both men easing.

(F/N): Seriously mom, I'm fine.

Emi: It's just... a shock to know you're wrapped up in the same things as your father.

(F/N): Speaking of...

(F/N) turned to his father.

(F/N): We have to address the elephant in the room. What are you going to do with (M/N)?

Daichi: Nothing.

(F/N) and (M/N) looked at each other in confusion.

(M/N): Wait a minute! How can I trust that you won't come back to finish the job?!

Daichi: You're a distrustful one, aren't you? Well, if I wanted to kill you, I would've done so already.

(M/N): Get real! I'd would've won without a doubt!

Daichi: Maybe if you weren't half dead already, you'd have stood a chance. That aside, the fact that (F/N) trusts you means he believes you won't cause any trouble. If he believes you then I'll do the same.

"You can't be serious!"

From across the room, Ryuken spoke up.

Ryuken: We have a duty as Quincies to get rid of hollows, yet you want us to keep her alive?!

Masaki: Hey Ryu, I don't think she's-

Ryuken: As a Quincy, we can't leave something as strong as an arrancar roaming the streets of our city! She's not only a threat to us, but she'll also garner the attention of the Soul Society!

Daichi: You're from the Ishida clan, correct? Well then why don't you do it?

Ryuken: What?

Daichi: Defeat her if you think that's the right thing to do.

(F/N): What the hell are you saying? Weren't you just saying you'd keep her alive?!

Daichi: I no longer have a reason to fight her but if young Ishida here has a reason to fight her then it's his decision to follow through.

Daichi then looked towards Ryuken.

Daichi: So, can you do it? Do you have the strength required to fight a rare hollow such as an arrancar?

...

...

...

Ryuken backed down. He knew he didn't have what it took to take on (M/N).

Ryuken: I... I don't.

Daichi: Don't sell yourself short. You still have a lot more time to grow. Take your journey one step at a time and you'll eventually have what it takes to take on the hollow in front of you. However, never forget that your opponent will also grow in strength. Never believe that the opposition will stay stagnant and wait for your power to match theirs.

Ryuken: O-Of course... Though I have one more question...

Daichi: Go on...

Ryuken: What is your plan for the (L/N) clan?

Daichi: That's both vague and personal, don't you think?

Ryuken: I apologize, but I've been quite thinking about the future of the Quincies as of late. With the Kurosaki and (L/N)'s recent fall, the Ishida's seem to be next. I'm not sure what the first step is into preserving what we have left let alone regrow the Quincies. The last few Echt Quincy families don't speak well of the (L/N) clan ever since it's been discovered that you were the last one left. But someone with as much experience as you should know a lot more than I do. How do you plan on tackling the problem we currently face?

Daichi listened intently to Ryuken before responding.

Daichi: It's far too late for me to do anything. I've already done what I could.

Ryuken: What? Like what?

Daichi looked over to (F/N).

Daichi: I raised someone who carries a lot of my beliefs and philosophies. Whether he was spiritually aware or not, who knows what he could accomplish. And even if he isn't the one to accomplish it, he can pass on what he knows to someone who can. It may be too late for me, but it's not too late for you all. Everything about the history of the Quincies and everything revolving around them have been recorded and passed on. Use the knowledge passed onto you to find a different answer. If we can change the actions or beliefs that got us into the position in the first place, only then can we take a step into the right direction.

Ryuken didn't understand what Daichi was trying to tell him.

Ryuken: Beliefs? Philosophies? Are you saying these beliefs and Philosophies the reason you're keeping this hollow alive? What are you trying to prove with these actions?! I can't start to fathom it!

Daichi: Then keep learning and getting stronger. Knowledge and power go hand in hand. You get perspectives from both sides. My words may sound like nothing but rubbish to you now, but it'll make sense as you grow older. Once you make sense of it, you can argue and decide if my line of thinking is right or wrong.

Ryuken stood up and bowed.

Ryuken: Thank you for your time. I'll take the time to think it over.

Ryuken then turned to (F/N).

Ryuken: I can't say I agree with your choice to harbor... "her". However, you've proven to at least have potential. I'll take back what I said about you earlier. It's clear that once you've become more experienced, you'll be a formidable ally. With that, we'll take our leave.

Ryuken said his final words and began to leave the house with Kanae giving a quick but proper bow of respect before following Ryuken. Masaki got up to leave as well, but not before she spoke to (F/N) and (M/N).

Masaki: I apologize for Ryu's outburst earlier. I promise he isn't as mean as he let on. Maybe we can hang out together soon. You can also invite your shinigami friend too! Think about it, alright!

Masaki ran out of the house before anyone could reply.

(F/N): What a unique bunch of kids...

Daichi: You're not that much older than they are. With that said...

Daichi stood up.

Daichi: ...We'll have to postpone our visit. Due to my actions, your living room is now a mess. It'll take a while to clean.

(F/N): *mutters* Sure... leave me and (M/N) to do all the work, why don't you...

(F/N) then looked his father directly in the eyes.

(F/N): Before you go, I still have one last question about this whole situation.

Daichi: Ask away.

(F/N): Why didn't you kill (M/N) right away? Ryuken was right in asking that question at least. Whether (M/N) actually killed me or not should've been irrelevant when your job is to kill hollows.

Daichi: Because I know what that'll lead to... There's a predictable pattern going on that the quincies have yet to address. When we kill a hollow, the shinigami has to purify hundreds more to compensate for the soul completely leaving the cycle. Getting the shinigami on our bad side is the exact opposite of what I want to accomplish.

(F/N): So you want to get on their good side?

Daichi: Yes. More specifically, I believe we can work out some sort of... understanding or compromise. The reason why there's so few of us right now is because of this lack of diplomacy. Now let me ask you this, (F/N). Why are you housing a hollow?

(F/N): Because she saved my life.

Daichi: Hm?

(F/N): (M/N) was a major reason why I'm standing before you today. I could've died back then but despite her nature, she saved my life. So until she's recovered and back to full health, I'll take care of her and keep her hidden until she's ready to leave. That's why I couldn't allow you two to kill each other.

(F/N) answered with no hesitation. Even (M/N) was surprised at (F/N)'s resolve. Daichi only gave a small smile before responding.

Daichi: Then I guess what happened today turned out for the best.

(F/N) walked towards his father and mother hugged them both.

(F/N): Sorry that today didn't turn out how we wanted. This was supposed to be the first time we saw each other in person since I moved out and it turned out to be a big mess...

Emi: We'll have a lot more chances to make up for it. Just keep us in the loop now that you're involved with these spirits.

(F/N): Of course I will.

Emi turned to (M/N).

Emi: I'm sorry for asking this of you after we only just met, but can you please keep an eye on (F/N) for us. He can be a troublemaker at times and he doesn't know how to hold his tongue at times but he means well at the end of the day.

(M/N) wasn't used to being treated friendly so she shyly accepted Emi's request.

(M/N): Um... Yeah. I can do that...

(F/N): I'm not a kid anymore, mom...

Emi: You still have some anger issues that need straightening out, mister.

(F/N) refrained from answering so as to not anger his mother.

Daichi: Alright. Let's leave them be, dear.

Emi: Fine. You two, stay safe.

As the two parents left the untidy living room, (F/N) began gathering different cleaning items.

(F/N): Alright, let's get to work. The house won't clean itself.

...

...

...

(M/N): Hey, (F/N)...

(F/N): Hm?

(M/N): Thanks...

(F/N): Where's this coming from?

(M/N): I guess... I just didn't know that there were so many understanding people here in the World of the Living.

(F/N): Well get used to it. You'll soon be meeting a lot of them. Whether it be in this neighborhood, the entirety of Karakura Town, or even the entirety of Tokyo. So be ready to see all kinds of places and meet a lot of people once we clean up the place, alright?

(M/N): Right...

(M/N) couldn't help but smile.

(M/N): *whisper* You know... You're really reliable...

(F/N): Hm? Did you say something?

(M/N): Nothing.

(F/N) was about to return to cleaning when he heard knock on his door.

(F/N): Right when all of our guests leave... Who is it now...?

(F/N) opened the door and saw Isshin and Urahara at his front door.

Isshin: Good afternoon, neighbor!

(F/N): Isshin? And Urahara too? What's going on? And what's this about neighbours?

Isshin: Well you see, Urahara here was helping me settle in, now that I'm banished from the Soul Society. I live right around the corner.

Urahara: It looked like you needed some help so I asked Isshin to come along and help you clean up the place.

(F/N): Right... Well I guess I can't be picky. If you wanna help then fine. It'll make our job easier.

The four individuals spent the rest of the day cleaning what they could of the living room, making small talk in the process.

To be continued.

We get to see more (M/N) and Daichi's fight debut.

Writing the fight scene and the dialogue between the two was surprisingly fun. We also get so see some insight on Daichi's beliefs on the current state of the Quincies.

Also we get see more of (F/N)'s and Daichi's relationship as Father and Son. Daichi shows that he cares while (F/N) has his roundabout way of showing appreciation and love for his father.

Speaking of relationships, we also get to see a very small but significant turn in how (M/N) views (F/N) at the end of the chapter and how the relationship started to slowly build.

It's also subtly hinted that (F/N) is a bit of mother's boy. Gee I hope it didn't rub off on (Y/N)... *cough* *cough*...

Also you can finally see what seems to be the first generation of Team Karakura Town being formed, being (F/N), (M/N) and the Quincies. Isshin is kinda there for the vibes. I'd like to imagine that Ryuken constantly tries to stop Masaki from following (F/N) and/or (M/N) when a hollow appears but she tags along anyway, which in turn, forces Ryuken and later Kanae to follow after them.

I didn't bring this up during (F/N)'s first backstory but I'd like to think that (F/N) training with Urahara and Yoruichi is the reason why Yoruichi knew how to train Chad and Orihime to use their powers during the Soul Society arc. They would have experience with (F/N) and would use that to help Chad and Orihime. It's clear in the original story that Urahara and Ryuken didn't know what a fullbringer was during the Fullbringer arc but having (F/N) in the story changed that.
