To say Unohana put (Y/N) to work was an understatement. Unohana agreed to help (Y/N) improve his Kaidou abilities. In fact she taught (Y/N) in real time as they were treating patients. But the unfortunate reality is that there were many casualties in the invasion of (Y/N) and his friends as well as Aizen's conspiracy that put the Captains against one another. The amount of patients in the medical ward wasn't anything to scoff at. However, progress was being made and (Y/N) felt great about that.

(Y/N) essentially spent the entire day at the 4th Division. Despite the exhaustion he felt from all day, he felt good about himself. Now only that, his improvement with Kaidou has increased. Sure, he still wasn't anywhere near Unohana's level, but he saw a big improvement in his skills with said Kido skill.

(Timeskip) Next day

(Y/N) decided to explore more of the Soul Society and on his solo expedition, he ran into two faces he didn't think he'd see again: Kira and Hisagi.

To say (Y/N) felt awkward running into both lieutenants after everything that happened was an understatement. If (Y/N) remembered correctly, Kira and Hisagi were lieutenants of Gin and Tosen respectively. Not only did (Y/N) beat both Kira and Hisagi, but he also apparently beat Gin and Tosen after he blacked out. Not to mention Gin and Tosen were traitors. (Y/N) wasn't really expecting them to be friendly with him if he was being completely honest.

(Y/N): H-Hey.

Hisagi: You were one the Ryokas. (Y/N) right?

(Y/N): Yeah, and your Hisagi? And the other is Kira?

Kira: Yeah, that's us...

*tumbleweed*

Please someone end the weird tension.

(Y/N): So uh, where are you guys heading?

Hisagi: Oh, to the 11th Division barracks.

(Y/N): Oh I see, well I'll make sure to get out of your way. I'll just be going-

Kira: Actually (Y/N), why don't you come with us?

This caught (Y/N) off guard. To be honest he didn't know what was at the 11th Barracks. (Y/N) assumed they were on business.

(Y/N): Are you sure, I'm not getting in the way of anything am I?

Kira: Nah we were just going to get some sparring in. Just to get our mind off of things, you know?

(Y/N): Right.

Kira: And to be honest, I kinda wanted a rematch against you.

Hisagi: So that's what you were really after. Though this is a bit out of character for you.

Hisagi then turned to (Y/N).

Hisagi: You heard him, so you coming with?

(Y/N): Yeah, I'll tag along.

With that the trio took off to the 11th Division Barracks. The walk was mostly in silence but as they got closer, the trio heard a lot of noise.

???: All right, who's up next?

Hisagi: Hey Ikkaku, any more spots for training?

Ikkaku: Huh? Oh it's you guys. You brought one of the Ryoka's with you?

Kira: Yeah, he's with us.

The guy in front of (Y/N) was a bald guy with red marks around his eyes. Apparently his name was Ikkaku.

Ikkaku: Is he strong at least?

Hisagi: Plenty, he beat both of us during the invasion.

This intrigued Ikkaku.

Ikkaku: That so? Well let me take a swing at him first.

(Y/N): I-I guess.

???: Huh? So you're finally here!

Just then (Y/N) heard a voice he didn't want to hear.

Ikkaku: Captain, you're here early.

Division 11th's captain was Kenpachi Zaraki, one of Ichigo's opponents during the invasion. (Y/N) was there when Ichigo encountered him and felt his power. Kenpachi was someone (Y/N) didn't want anything to do with.

Kenpachi: I just had a hunch so I came here early, guess I was right. You were the Ryoka that was with Kurosaki. Kurosaki told me you two were on equal terms in terms of power so I knew I had to fight you.

(Y/N) wanted to bail immediately. (Y/N) only came here to befriend Hisagi and Kira. This was way more than what he bargained for.

(Y/N): H-he said that? Surely he was just lying, Ichigo's way more stronger than I am.

"Please believe the lie! PLEASE BELIEVE THE LIE!"

Kenpachi: Nonsense, I felt your power during our first encounter. Come on, spar with me.

"DAMNIT!"

Before (Y/N) could finish his sentence, Kenpachi took one of the training swords hanging on the wall and charged (Y/N). (Y/N) narrowly blocked the attack before giving Hisagi and Kira a signal with his eyes that practically screamed "Help me!"

However, neither Hisagi nor Kira wanted anything to do with Kenpachi and stood on the sidelines.

(Y/N): You traitors!

(Meanwhile) Soi-Fon POV

Soi-Fon had just got done patrolling the Seireitei with her lieutenant, Marechiyo Omaeda. Omaeda doubled the height of his captain and customized his kimono with a fancy purple collar. As she made her way back to her barracks, she noticed many shinigami's running towards the 11th Division barracks.

Soi-Fon: What in the world is going on?

Omaeda: Everyone's running to the 11th Division barracks. There's probably an intense sparring match going on in there.

Soi-Fon: Then I have no interest in watching.

However, more and more shinigami ran towards the barracks. There couldn't possibly be a sparring match that would cause such a huge influx of interest. Soi-Fon decided to stop one of the shinigami passing by.

Soi-Fon: What's going on in there?

Random Shinigami: Oh Captain Soi-Fon. Well you see, there's an intense sparring match between Captain Kenpachi and one of the Ryokas.

Soi-fon was at a loss for words. She knew Kenpachi was a battle maniac but to pick a fight with the Ryokas? She only could think of two Ryokas in particular who Kenpachi would find as a suitable opponent. Ichigo or...

Soi-Fon: Omaeda, we're going to check it out.

Omaeda: Huh? You're actually interested Captain?

Soi-Fon walked ahead of her lieutenant without replying.

(Back with (Y/N))

(Y/N) was scared out of his mind. He knew he shouldn't be, considering it was a sparring match, but Kenpachi just had the vibe of an insane person with a dangerous weapon. He couldn't drop his guard for a second or Kenpachi might accidentally kill him. Considering this was a sparring match, both Kenpachi and (Y/N) wielded training swords instead of their zanpakutos, meaning (Y/N) couldn't cheat by using his shikai abilities.

If (Y/N) was being honest, he was surprised that he was still conscious. He was clashing blades with one of the strongest captains of the Court Guard Squad. A captain so strong that he skipped the main requirement for becoming a captain. The fact (Y/N) was clashing blades was a miracle, but then again Kenpachi was known for holding back so that he could have a good fight.

*SWING*

*CLASH*

Kenpachi: This is turning out to be a fun match!

(Y/N): I'm glad one of us is having fun!

Kenpachi: Say, why don't we ditch the training swords and use our zanpakutos!

Soi-Fon: I highly doubt that would be allowed.

Kenpachi stopped in the middle of the fight after hearing Soi-Fon's remark.

Kenpachi: Eh? I'm surprised you, of all people, showed up. You're usually always have a stick up your ass about something. What, you came to have a fight too? I don't mind taking both of you on at the same time.

Soi-Fon: No thanks, I just came to see what the commotion was all about-

Soi-Fon stopped mid sentence after seeing (Y/N)'s pleading eyes screaming for assistance. She wasn't too keen on (Y/N), but at the same time she knew how insane Kenpachi was. She would be lying if she said that she didn't feel sorry for anyone who had to fight him.

Soi-Fon: You know what, why not. Omaeda! Hold my coat.

Omaeda: Wait, are you serious?!

Soi-Fon took off her captain's coat and handed it to Omaeda without replying before taking one of the training swords off of the wall.

(Y/N): Thank Goodness you're here. You're a lifesaver Soi-Fon.

Soi-Fon: Don't get the wrong idea, you guys are just causing a commotion so I'm here to end it.

(Y/N): Any reason to calm down this psycho is fine in my book.

Fighting two on one didn't help the situation, if anything it just made the entire fight longer.

(Y/N) and Soi-Fon were lying flat on the floors of Squad 11's barrack floors in exhaustion. The fight between the three was broken up by Captain Unohana who was passing by. It's kind of a miracle how much (Y/N)'s impression of Unohana has changed since arriving. The person who he was scared of the most was probably the nicest person he's met in the Soul Society. Apparently Unohana is one of the few captains Kenpachi actually listened to, so the moment she requested an end to the fight. He obliged, although a bit disappointed.

(Y/N) wasn't sure how Ichigo survived his fight with Kenpachi. (Y/N) was willing to give Ichigo the right to call himself the stronger of the two if he was able to tie with him.

(Y/N) turned to Soi-Fon who was wheezing. He couldn't blame her. For a sparring match, he felt like they were in a full blown battle. They didn't do too bad though. They made an unexpectedly good team. The teamwork was a bit rough at first, but the moment they got the hang of it, they were practically in sync. They both received similar training from Yoruichi after all. Guess that's that played a part.

(Y/N): You know, I think we did pretty well out there.

Soi-Fon: You think? We could've done better.

(Y/N): Maybe next time we could. Although I hope there isn't a next time. That guy is way too much.

Soi-Fon: You better hope there isn't a next time, because I won't be helping.

(Y/N): Aww...

Soi-Fon: Well, I should be going. I've wasted enough time around here.

Soi-Fon got off the ground before brushing herself off.

(Y/N): It is getting late. I'll see you later then, Soi-Fon.

Soi-Fon: That's "if" we see each other again. This meeting was just by coincidence. I'll be busy so don't expect to see me everyday.

(Y/N): Really? You'll at least see me off at the end of the week right?

Soi-Fon: We aren't friends. Why would you think I'd take time to see you leave. Come on Omaeda, let's go.

Omaeda: Right.

With that Soi-Fon and Omaeda took their leave.

(Y/N): She's so stubborn. But hey, it wouldn't be the first friend I've made that was like that.

Just then Hisagi and Kira walked up to (Y/N).

Hisagi: Well I'll be... You actually survived.

Kira: Yeah, I thought you'd be dead, all things considered.

(Y/N): Yeah, no thanks to you two. How could you leave me to fight that demon!

Hisagi: We knew what would happen to us if we stepped in.

Kira: Although we didn't come here to do what we intended to do, I'd say today was still entertaining.

(Y/N): Yeah, for you guys.

Hisagi and Kira just laughed at (Y/N)'s misfortune as (Y/N) said his goodbyes and tiredly made his way back to his other Ryoka friends.
