Urahara: So you and Kurosaki got approached by a group of shinigamis?

(Y/N): That's right.

(Y/N) gave Urahara a retelling of the events that went down before he arrived at the shop.

Urahara: Then that must mean "they" really are making their return.

(Y/N): "They"?

Urahara: Well, I was going to wait until tomorrow to give you the news, but earlier today, when we gave Kurosaki the rundown on the Valley of Screams, Kon mentioned how he saw a man wearing a set of armor during you guys' first encounter with the blanks.

(Y/N): Really?

Urahara: *nod* Tessai volunteered to analyze Kon's memories to see if he could get any more information.

(Y/N): And you found something?

Urahara: We didn't see a face, but we did see the armor he was wearing. And it may have belonged to someone from a former noble family in the Soul Society.

(Y/N): Former? Who was it?

Urahara: The Ryōdoji Family. Everything is becoming connected. It seems the Ryōdoji Family wants revenge for being exiled from the Soul Society and they want to accomplish that by throwing the two realms at each other. But it seems they need the Shinenju for the plan to work flawlessly.

(Y/N): Speaking of the Shinenju... There was something I wanted to ask about it.

Urahara: Go ahead.

(Y/N): Let's say hypothetically that the Shinenju is discovered. What will happen if we defeat these guys and the Shinenju stay present?

Urahara felt the wording of (Y/N)'s question was weird but answered it regardless.

Urahara: Well the Shinenju is a by-product of Blanks. The more Blanks that are created the longer the Valley of Screams open, which will lead to our destruction. In other words, unless the Shinenju is able to return the memories it is made up of, our world won't stop its collision.

(Y/N): *thinking* So she's doomed to fade away...

(Y/N) thought about Senna's grim fate.

Urahara: But... that's just what I think. The Valley of Screams doesn't show up very often so there may be something we're unaware of.

(Y/N): Right... Thanks for the information Mr. Urahara. I should take my leave. It's getting late.

Urahara: Be careful on your way home.

(Y/N) got up and was about to take his leave until...

Urahara: (Y/N)... Are you sure there is nothing else you want to tell me?

(Y/N): No, that's all for tonight.

Urahara: Well, sorry for taking your time. Farewell.

(Y/N): Right. Goodnight. Let everyone else know I said "Hi".

(Y/N) left the shop. The moment was far enough, Calavera poked her head out of (Y/N)'s backpack.

Calavera: I'm a bit confused... you asked about the Shinenju but you didn't tell him about Senna. Why?

(Y/N): Call it being naivety, but despite all the signs pointing at Senna being the Shinenju, I'm holding out hope that there could be some hope for her. Besides, Urahara already has his suspicions.

Calavera: Huh?

(Y/N): He probably found my question about the Shinenju weird. That's what prompted his last question.

Urahara: (Y/N)... Are you sure there is nothing else you want to tell me?

(Y/N): He was wondering if I'd give him the real reason why I ask the question about the Shinenju. Heck, I'd assume he knows the Shinenju is a living being from my simple question.

Calavera: You think so?

(Y/N): I know so.

Calavera: You two are fighting a scary battle of minds...

(Y/N): I'd hardly call it a battle. It's not like we're against each other. Besides, if he wanted to, Mr. Urahara could figure out everything after tonight's conversation. I assume he's sitting back because he's allowing me and Ichigo to do what we think is right.

Calavera: Hey, (Y/N)... Do you think Senna can be saved?

(Y/N): I'll be honest. I don't know.

(Timeskip) The next day.

(Y/N), Ichigo, and Senna stood in the same area where they first encountered the Blanks.

Senna: Say, do you really think they'll show up again?

Ichigo: I dunno... But the only lead we have is that we saw the Blanks here.

(Y/N): There's also the problem of that group that attacked Senna last night appearing. There's a good chance that they'll show up as well. So we have to be on our toes.

Senna: Boring.

(Y/N): This is your well being we're talking about... Please take it a bit more seriously.

Senna: I have two with me. You two seem to have scared those guys off pretty easily last night.

(Y/N): One of those members suggested that it wasn't the right time to capture you. Which contradicts the reason they came after you in the first place. Say, Senna... Do you think you might have any memories of them by any chance?

Senna: Let me think about it...

Senna tried to think hard about it but unfortunately, nothing came to mind.

Senna: Nope.

The trio then looked around and saw the massive amounts of people walking the streets compared to the previous day.

Ichigo: Man, why so many people? It's usually less crowded around this time of hour...

(Y/N): Yeah, now that you mention it... Doesn't this feel like the complete opposite that happened last night?

Ichigo and (Y/N) remembered how the crowd in the mall the previous day seemed to vanish the moment Senna left. During that time of thinking, Senna ran off, as if she noticed something.

Ichigo: Senna, don't go too far from our side.

(Y/N): I think we're too late... She's already gone.

Ichigo: Hey Senna!

(Y/N): Where'd you go!

"Over here!"

The two turned around and saw Senna behind the corner of a building. The two caught up with her.

Ichigo: You were just attacked yesterday! Don't go wandering off like that!

However, just then Ichigo and (Y/N) noticed Senna standing by a lost soul. The soul of a child to be exact.

Ichigo: A soul?

(Y/N): Seems so.

Ichigo: Hey, what's the matter?

Ichigo genuinely asked, however, due to his face always having a default anger expression, it only served to cause the kid to cry more.

Senna: You're scaring him.

(Y/N): It's not really his fault...

Senna: My name's Senna. What's yours?

Child: Tomoya.

Senna: Tomoya, huh? Will you tell me what's wrong?

Tomoya: Umm... My dad's gone...

Senna: You were with your dad?

Tomoya: Uh huh. We were driving to the festival, but when I looked, he was gone.

(Y/N): *thinking* He disappeared while driving? Did this kid die in a car crash alongside his father and got separated? And what festival is he talking about?

Ichigo, meanwhile, didn't keep quiet.

Ichigo: Well then... Your dad is probably in heaven and...

Tomoya: That's not true! Dad is looking for me!

Senna: Okay! Then we'll help you find your dad.

Tomoya: Really?

Senna: Of course! Tomoya, which way did you come from?

Tomoya: Over that way!

Senna: Then let's go.

Ichigo: Hey! Right now, we have to...

Senna: But we have no leads, right? No sense in hanging around here.

(Y/N): Let's do it Ichigo. That way we can kill two birds with one stone. If his father is alive then he can pass on normally and we may run into those Blanks on the way.

Ichigo scratched the back of his head before finally folding.

Ichigo: Fine...

Senna: Then let's go.

Tomoya: Okay!

The trio walked for what felt like hours. Nobody knew the location of the festival that Tomoya was talking about. However, even when hope felt lost, Senna convinced Tomoya that they'd find his father.

Ichigo: Hey, how long're you gonna keep at it? There's no festival around here. Besides... there's no guarantee that his father is still on this side.

(Y/N): I usually like to be the optimistic one, but Ichigo's right. Nobody seems to know of any festivals around here. Besides, something that big would've been noticeable to us by now.

Senna: We'll find him. That boy has to leave this world soon. And a long journey awaits him... It's his last wish. How sad if it doesn't come true. I can't bring myself to perform a Konso like this. I want to at least give him a good last memory.

(Y/N) couldn't help but feel a bit more inspired after hearing Senna's speech.

(Y/N): When you put it that way, I can't let him pass on without seeing his father either.

The trio then heard Tomoya shout towards them.

Tomoya: Sis!

Senna: What is it?

Tomoya: Sis! This way! This way!

Tomoya waved and pointed at a shrine entrance. Senna was the first one to run towards Tomoya. Ichigo and (Y/N) followed behind, however the moment they arrived at the shrine entrance, they saw a large number of people starting to exit the shrine. (Y/N) accidentally ran into one of them.

(Y/N): Oh, I'm sorry about that. Are you okay?

(Y/N) didn't receive an answer nor did the person have a reaction after the initial contact. They didn't even bother to turn around.

(Y/N): *mutters* That didn't seem normal...

(Y/N) brushed off the interaction and caught up with his two friends. The moment (Y/N) walked in the entrance, (Y/N) was met with an entire festival set up in the Shrine. (Y/N) looked towards Ichigo in confusion.

(Y/N): First was the sudden influx of people... And now this random festival that nobody knew of suddenly being a real thing... Nothing is adding up.

Ichigo: Yeah...

(Y/N): You don't think this is another by-product of Senna's memories, do you?

Ichigo: I... I don't know...

(Y/N) and Ichigo walked up to Senna as she spoke to Tomoya.

Tomoya: Sis... My dad...

Senna: Don't worry. Let's find him.

Tomoya: Okay.

As the trio walked past the different food and entertainment stalls at the festival, Senna said something... weird.

Senna: I'm so glad this place is still here. I came here a lot as a child.

(Y/N): Did you really?

Senna: Yep.

(Y/N): *thinking* Yeah... Something's definitely not right. She was unfamiliar with this place just a second ago and now she remembers it all of a sudden. Not even the locals in the area knew this festival existed.

At this point, (Y/N) was feeling completely confident this entire place was made up.

(Y/N): *thinking* The sudden disappearance of people in the mall from yesterday when Senna left was a coincidence. Nor was the sudden crowd from this morning either. Nobody here is human. Or at the very least, they don't have their memories. The person I bumped into didn't even react to me. This is another result of Senna being the Shinenju.

(Y/N) was taken out of his thoughts when he heard a voice.

"Tomoya!"

Tomoya looked onwards as he saw his dad running towards him.

Tomoya: Dad!

The two embraced each other in a hug.

Tomoya's Dad: I'm sorry... I'm so sorry.

Ichigo looked surprised as he wasn't sure what was happening.

Ichigo: I don't believe this...

Tomoya's Dad: Thank you so much!

Senna: I'm happy for you.

Tomoya's Dad: It's all thanks to you.

Senna: No, I didn't do anything.

Tomoya's Dad: I see. Could it be that you haven't noticed? All these souls gathered around you here. I was able to find this place thanks to them.

Senna: These people...?

Tomoya: Uh huh... all of them here. How weird. You're the one who called them here.

(Y/N)'s thoughts were now validated by Tomoya and his father's statements. (Y/N) knew he couldn't deny it anymore, no matter how much he wanted to. Senna was the Shinenju, no ands ifs or buts about it.

Tomoya's Dad: Tomoya... now we can go on our journey.

Tomoya: Bye bye.

Tomoya waved the three goodbye as both him and his father disappeared, seemingly passing on voluntarily.

Ichigo: Hey, (Y/N)...

Ichigo tapped on (Y/N)'s shoulder and pointed behind them. (Y/N) turned back and saw most of the citizens were gone, leaving a few people still sitting in the stalls. Another individual walked past the two and Ichigo tried to get his attention.

Ichigo: Hey! Wait a minute.

The moment Ichigo grabbed the man's shoulder, the man turned around with a dead look in his eyes.

Ichigo: These guys...?!

(Y/N): They may be Blanks...

Meanwhile, all of Senna's past memories were starting to replay in her head.

Senna: Why... Why do they come around me?

(Y/N) and Ichigo turned around as Senna started to panic.

(Y/N): H-hey, Senna... Just take a deep breath. Try to calm down.

Senna: (Y/N), Ichigo... I'm actually... I'm...

Senna was interrupted as the trio was blinded by a bright light and a Senkaimon appearing behind them. As the Senkaimon opened up, multiple shinigami came out. The most notable ones being Rukia, Renji, Rangiku, Ukitake, Toshiro and Soi-Fon.

(Y/N): Captain Ukitake? What brings you here?

Ichigo: What happened, Rukia?

Rukia: Well...

Rukia struggled to bring herself to speak about it, but Renji stepped forward.

Renji: This is a Level One order from Central 46. Ichigo. (Y/N). Hand over that girl!

Ichigo: What?!

Rukia: Ichigo. (Y/N). I went through every record of the Thirteen Court Guard Squads, the Stealth Force, the Kido Force, and the Shinigami Academy... There is no Senna listed anywhere! And the zanpakuto the girl uses, Mirokumaru... It has been verified that it was swallowed up by the Restrictive Current in the Dangai Precipice World 100 years ago along with its owner. In other words, it cannot possibly exist today.

Senna was obviously not taking the news too well.

Senna: Wait a minute! What are you saying? I'm a Shinigami...

Renji: Then when did you come to the World of the Living?

Senna: Well... two days ago I woke up by the banks of that river. But I remember my own name clearly. And that river... I've known it since I was a child...

Senna then clutched her head in distress.

Senna: But... why? I'm supposed to be just me...

Renji: See? All kinds of memories are mixed up in your head, right?

Ukitake: It's hard to believe... But the collective of memories you are searching for, the Shinenju, is-

(Y/N): Senna. Yes, we know already.

Everyone was surprised.

Soi-Fon: Y-you knew.

(Y/N): Yeah. I was holding onto hope that I was wrong though...

Senna: I'm...

Toshiro: Whether you found out or not isn't important. The Valley of Screams became visible twenty four hours ago... Soul Society has concluded that the man behind it is Ganryu and his motive is to destroy the worlds... and that a crucial element in his plans is the Shinenju. The Shinenju Senna! Soul Society will now take you into custody!

Senna: That's ridiculous?! What are you saying? I'm... Even I'm!

Senna couldn't bring herself to express herself in words as she was overwhelmed with emotions. Ichigo and (Y/N) stepped in front of her.

Ichigo: Hold it. It just doesn't sit well with us.

Rukia: What are you two doing?!

Ichigo: No matter what this girl is, it doesn't change the fact that she exists at this moment. She gets mad, she gets happy, she gets hurt... she has feelings, doesn't she? But you're gonna ignore that and take her into custody?! Then you're no different from them!

(Y/N): I can't just sit here and be content with you just imprisoning someone for simply existing. What you're doing is treating her like an object rather than a person. If you think doing this will "keep her protected" then you can simply leave her protection to us. We've proven to be able to protect Senna once already and we can do it again.

Ukitake: Sorry, but this is not the time to debate.

Soi-Fon: Don't bring your personal feelings into this situation. This is a matter of protecting our lives, remember that.

Renji: Move!

Both: We can't do that!

Before tensions could be raised any higher, the group that Ichigo and (Y/N) encountered the night before made their appearance. One of the members caused a massive explosion, causing everyone to back away.

A fight between the enemy group and the Soul Society broke out. Meanwhile, the spirits still present began to transform into Blanks and started to make their way towards (Y/N), Ichigo and Senna.

Ichigo: These guys!

At the very last moment, (Y/N) sensed a spiritual pressure creeping up on them.

(Y/N): Behind us!

The trio managed to dodge a sneak attack from Jai. (Y/N) and Ichigo both took this time to switch into their Shinigami forms.

Jai: Today, you two will turn the Shinenju over to us.

(Y/N): Not happening.

Ichigo: You wanna lose your other arm too?!

Senna: Be careful!

(Y/N): Of course! Cal, you and Kon get Senna to safety!

Ichigo swung his sword which clashed with Jai's chakram blade. (Y/N) flash stepped behind Jai and swung his scythe in an attempt to cut off Jai's only remaining arm. Irony struck as the blanks in the area darted into Jai's direction and entered the sleeve of his missing arm before assimilation with Jai and recreating a new arm (and chakram) for the Shinigami to block (Y/N)'s attack from behind.

Jai: Too bad!

Jai pivoted his body to swing his new arm to attack (Y/N) with his Chakram blade. (Y/N0 narrowly dodged it, as he was surprised at Jai's improved speed.

Ichigo: He has much more power than yesterday!

(Y/N): Not to mention his speed and reaction time improved!

Ichigo and (Y/N) then swapped places as they continued to tag team Jai. Meanwhile, Senna, Kon and Calavera were being cornered by Blanks.

Kon: What are we gonna do?!

Calavera: They aren't anything like Shinigamis! We can take them on!

However before Calavera could fight back, Rukia cut down a few of the Blanks that were in front of them.

Kon: Sis!

Kon hugged Rukia in comfort, much to Rukia's dismay. Rukia still fought the blanks regardless, casting a kido spell.

Rukia: Hado 33: Sokatsui!

Clearing out a few more Blanks, Rukia then proceeded to separate herself from Kon's grasp.

Rukia: You're in my way!

Calavera: You're going to cost more trouble than help if you keep it up!

While the commotion was going on, Senna decided she would join the fight.

Senna: I am a Shinigami!

Senna transformed into her shinigami form and began to release her zanpakuto as she attempted to attack a new member of the group who was still hiding his identity.

Senna: Bring them to the twilight! Mirokumaru!

Ichigo and (Y/N) heard Senna's zanpakuto.

Ichigo: Don't!

(Y/N) broke off from Ichigo and flew towards the enemy at full speed, reaching just in time to stop Senna from being attacked. (Y/N) blocked the enemy's punch with the handle of his scythe.

(Y/N) immediately disengaged and grabbed Senna before trying to flash step away. However before (Y/N) could make his getaway with Senna, he was cut off by the masked man who impaled him with a spear.

Senna: (Y/N)!

(Y/N) felt his vision starting to fade but did his best to stay conscious. (Y/N) summoned a Hollow that extended its arm and knocked the masked man away.



Senna was surprised to see a Hollow appear out of nowhere.

Senna: (Y/N)? What did you just-

(Y/N) ignored her as he tried to stay conscious and keep up with the enemy in front of him. At the moment, (Y/N) was so focused that the only thing that mattered now was getting the enemy away from Senna.

The masked man's veil flew off after (Y/N)'s attack, revealing his true identity.

Ukitake: As I suspected. That pattern on the armor belongs to the banished clan... The once noble House of Ryodoji!

Mask Man: I wouldn't know. We are from the Clan of Darkness, the Dark One.

All of a sudden, multiple swords materialized, surrounding (Y/N) and impaling him. Senna tried to catch (Y/N)'s body but the leader of the Dark One's appeared behind Senna, capturing her.

The captains watched (Y/N)'s body fall from the sky and the Dark One's attempt to make their escape.

Toshiro: You won't get away!

However, the leader of the Dark One's manipulated the Blanks to cover their escape as the Blanks caused a massive explosion.

However, Ichigo slipped past all of their distraction attempts. Ichigo was now in Bankai.

Ichigo: You've got some nerve!

Senna looked up as she saw Ichigo standing tall. Senna then tried her best to break out of the Leader's grasp.

Senna: Hey, let go of me!

Ichigo gained a determined face as he prepared his counterattack.

Ichigo: Senna! I'm coming for you!

The rest of the members of the Dark One's went after Ichigo, however they were all suddenly attacked by multiple hollows as (Y/N) summoned them to hold them off. (Y/N) was barely conscious and was just buying Ichigo time to get to Senna. (Y/N) was trying to heal himself with Kaidou but (Y/N) was losing too much blood.

Ichigo: We won't hand Senna over!

Ichigo broke through the Dark One's line of defense and swung his zanpakuto at the Leader.

(Y/N): *thinking* I'll leave this in your hands... Ichigo...

And with that, (Y/N) consciousness faded away, but not before hearing a voice.

"What the hell was that?! You could've defeated that guy, no problem! Well listen, and listen well! The next time you encounter that bastard, tear him apart! Don't worry about the girl or your little friends!"

(Timeskip) Urahara Shop

(Y/N) and Ichigo were brought to Urahara Shop by Rukia. All of (Y/N) and Ichigo's friends were alerted of the situation and what happened to the two Substitute Shinigamis. Currently Ichigo and (Y/N) have just been healed by Orihime.

Orihime: They're both okay now.

Rukia: Thank you. I'm glad you all came to help.

Jinta: Sheesh, they're hopeless.

"No such thing."

Urahara entered the room and took a seat.

Urahara: It was a surprise attack, but still there were three squad captains and even they couldn't fend them off. It couldn't be helped.

Rukia: What about the squad members?

Urahara: Unfortunately, they lost track of the enemy.

Chad: What about the Soul Society?

Urahara: They should be working on the next plan of action. Just... It's not possible to access the Valley of Screams from the Soul Society. Without an entryway, it's impossible to enter another world.

Chad: Isn't there any other way?

Urahara: Well, there should be an entrance in the World of the Living, which was created when the Shinenju appeared.

"I see."

Everyone turned as they heard Ichigo's voice speak lowly.

Rukia: Ichigo!

Ichigo struggled to pick himself off the ground.

Ichigo: If we find the entrance, we can go after them. Right, Urahara?

Urahara: Yes.

That was all Ichigo needed to hear as he got up to his feet shakily.

Ichigo: Let's go!

Ichigo walked out of Urahara Shop weakly as Rukia followed him.

Urahara: We have no choice. Let's go and search, too.

Ururu: What about Big bro?

"I'll be alright..."

Now it was (Y/N)'s turn to surprise everyone.

Orihime: How are you feeling?

(Y/N): Much better. Thanks Orihime.

Chad: How long have you been awake, (Y/N)?

(Y/N): Longer than Ichigo, that's for sure... I simply wanted to rest as much as I could before I went running around.

Urahara: So, what do you plan to do now, (Y/N)? Will you go and assist Ichigo?

(Y/N): Yeah.

Uryu: Hold on, you were badly injured. You must've known that your opponent outclassed you immensely.

(Y/N): Far from it actually. I have a grasp on his strength now.

Uryu: Huh?

(Y/N): I made the mistake of not adapting quickly enough. I got caught off guard by their appearance and their increase in strength due to their ability to absorb blanks. Alongside trying to protect Senna, I allowed them to get the upper hand. That's a mistake I won't let happen again. Besides, that man... Ganryu, was it? He made a huge mistake on his part as well.

Orihime: What was it?

(Y/N): He left me and Ichigo alive.

(Y/N) stood up.

(Y/N): And this time, we'll be sure to win.

(Y/N) walked towards the exit of Urahara Shop, but stopped when he heard Urahara speak.

Urahara: What will you do once you find the Shinenju? There's a good chance she won't come out of this alive.

(Y/N): Then I'll just fulfill my promises to Senna before her time is up...

(Y/N) finally left to catch up to Ichigo and Rukia.

(Timeskip)

Ichigo and Rukia landed at the shrine where the battle took place. There were police in the area due to the massive amount of explosions and destruction that went on in the area due to the blanks and the shinigamis fighting.

Thankfully, due to Ichigo and Rukia being in their Shinigami form, they snuck past the police. As the two were walking past, the two could hear talk from the police.

"As for the cause of the explosion, there are no traces of any gunpowder or chemical residue."

"Hmmm... What is going on here?!"

Ichigo then stopped as he recognized one of the members of the police force present.

Rukia: Hm? What's the matter?

Ichigo: Nothing, it's just... This is the first time I've actually seen the police at the scene of one of our battles. But I guess it's only natural he'd show up here.

Rukia: Do you know that officer in particular?

Ichigo: That's (Y/N)'s dad.

Rukia was shocked, and was a bit cautious.

Rukia: Doesn't that mean he should be able to see us?

"You can relax. He can't see us... or at least I don't think he can. I'm starting to have doubts though..."

Ichigo and Rukia turned around and saw (Y/N), who caught up to them.

Ichigo: (Y/N)...

(Y/N): Even if he could see us, he wouldn't want to look like a crazy person. From his coworkers' point of view, he'd just be talking to himself. We're safe to look around.

Ichigo and Rukia nodded but were cautious anyway. As the trio walked past (F/N), he could hear a little bit of his conversation with another member of the police force.

(F/N): No chemical residue nor explosion means that someone must mean vandalism is at play here. Check the premises for anything like footprints. Have any other officers ask around for statements of any sightings of people entering the shrine with anything like machinery or tools.

(Y/N) stayed out of view of his father out of suspicion however it almost felt like he felt glances coming from his father's direction.

Suspicious indeed...

The three Shinigami walked to the building of the shrine and found Senna's ribbon being the only thing left after the fight. Ichigo picked up the ribbon but handed it to (Y/N). Rukia did feel guilty that she was one the people actively trying to arrest her.

Rukia: (Y/N)... Ichigo... I...

Ichigo: It's not your fault.

(Y/N): We can't agree with how the Soul Society went about treating Senna, but we at the very least understood the line of thinking. If you guys had thought about things from her perspective a little bit more, that initial conflict wouldn't have happened.

Rukia: If you don't mind me asking... What made you two fight against the Soul Society so much for her? You two only knew her for a day.

(Y/N): Even if we hadn't known her, it's about the context of this situation. Sure, Senna might be the Shinenju, but it's not her fault that this group is trying to misuse her power for the wrong thing. And besides, Senna herself doesn't even know who she is. Arresting someone not only for something out of their control but also by just existing, is simply just not a human thing to do.

Ichigo: She's self centered and stubborn and a little crazy, but she was trembling. Deep down, she was frightened that she didn't know who she really was.

(Y/N): Fighting to do something you believe in and failing is one of the worst feelings anyone has to go through. But make no mistake... We won't fail again...

Rukia: It seems that both of your determination has not wavered... Then let's think about how to find her.

Ichigo and (Y/N) both looked at each other as one thought ran through their heads.

Ichigo: The ferris wheel...

Rukia: Huh?

Ichigo: Rukia, come with us.

Rukia: O-Okay.

(Timeskip)

Ichigo, Rukia and (Y/N) stood on top of one the passenger cabins of the ferris wheel. As they reached the peak of the ferris wheel the two boys looked towards the river, remembering something Senna said to them before.

"I remember when I was alive. My house used to be around here, too."

Ichigo: There... in the river.

Ichigo pointed at a visible glowing light coming from the river. The three shinigami decided to fly closer to the light.

Rukia: What is that?!

(Y/N): It's definitely a major clue...

Rukia: Now I remember. This is the same phenomenon that's visible from the Soul Society!

Ichigo: We can go through it!

Ichigo: Rukia, contact Urahara.

Rukia: W-Wait, Ichigo! You can't go alone...

(Y/N): That's why I'm with him.

Rukia: We're gonna save her no matter what!

(Y/N): Catch up with us when you can... and bring backup as well.

Ichigo: Let's go, (Y/N).

(Y/N): Right.

Ichigo and (Y/N) hopped through the eerie portal in pursuit of the Dark Ones.

(Timeskip) In the Soul Society.

Every Captain stood in the Squad 1 Barracks in front of Yamamoto. Mayuri was in the middle of giving the captains a rundown of the situation at hand.

Mayuri: Placing the Shinenju at the center of the Valley of Screams will activate the Blanks' natural desire to seek their memories and will drive them to rush towards the Shinenju, causing the Valley of Screams to contract. This force will be strong enough to pull the World of the Living and Soul Society, which is separated by the Dangai Precipice World, into a collision.

Kyoraku: That's a disturbing thought...

Mayuri: Furthermore, the contraction has already begun.

Kenpachi: Never mind all the details. So what's going to happen?

Mayuri: Who knows...? But two worlds that must stay apart are going to collide. One will be destroyed if we are lucky. Perhaps, both worlds will be destroyed.

Ukitake: How much time do we have?

Mayuri: I don't have enough data, so I can't say with certainty... But I'd guess... about one hour.

Soi-Fon: I'll mobilize the Punishment Force and enter the Valley of Screams immediately!

Mayuri: It's useless. There is no Senkaimon that connects the Soul Society to the Valley of Screams, therefore we have no way to enter. Any effort will be for naught.

Yamamoto: The situation is critical! Prepare the Kido Cannon! We must destroy the Valley of Screams and the entire dimension connected to it.

Ukitake: But if we do that, it will cause massive damage to both worlds!

Yamamoto: There is no other choice.

The captains stopped talking as they heard an uproar from outside of the barracks.

"No! Please stand back!"

The doors to the barracks abruptly opened as Rukia forced her way into the meeting.

Yamamoto: What is the meaning of this?! This is a captains' meeting! Be gone!

Rukia: My deepest apologies, sir! I will gladly accept any punishment later. However, I have crucial information to report! The Substitute Shinigamis, Ichigo Kurosaki and (Y/N) (L/N), has discovered an entryway to the Valley of Screams through the World of the Living and has gone there in order to rescue Senna the Shinenju! I beseech you... Please send reinforcements to assist them!

Yamamoto: I cannot allow that.

Rukia: Why is that?

Yamamoto: Mind you, I am not taking the two Substitute Shinigamis' skills lightly... However, we have only one hour, and there is no guarantee that we could enter the Valley of Screams, defeat the enemy and rescue the Shinenju in that time even with the full force of the Thirteen Court Guard Squads. Do not think poorly of me.

Rukia looked defeated as she heard the news.

Yamamoto: This meeting is now over. All Squads will begin emergency procedures. Prepare the Kido Cannon!

(Timeskip)

Rukia looked on as she watched many officers of the Court Guard Squad powered the Kido Cannon, preparing to destroy the Valley Of Screams. Renji made his appearance, walking next to Rukia as she stared at the Kido Cannon.

Rukia: I'm...

Renji: I'm... going, too! I'm not about to let them take all the glory.

"Perhaps you should speak less loudly if you're going to pull a stunt like that."

Rukia and Renji flinched at the voice as they turned around to see Soi-Fon standing behind them.

Renji: Uh... C-Captain Soi-Fon! That was just a joke...

Soi-Fon: Right... Then let me in on this "joke".

Renji: Huh?

Soi-Fon: I'll get in contact with a few captains that will be willing to help us assist Ichigo and (Y/N).

Rukia and Renji looked at each other in surprise before bowing in respect.

Both: Thank you very much!

Soi-Fon: Don't think much of it...

(Meanwhile) In the Valley of Screams.

Senna was tied to an altar while Ganryu and his followers had the Blanks latch onto her. One of the members, Riyan, spoke.

Riyan: Lord Ganryu, the Blanks have latched onto the Shinenju.

Ganryu: Yes. Now we can-

Ganryu stopped mid sentence as the Blanks that were attached to Senna were cut in half. The Dark Ones all dodge the attack narrowly and regrouped.

Ganryu: Humph! Small fries, I see...

From afar, Ichigo and (Y/N) stood side by side.

Ichigo: Senna! We're coming!

(Y/N): You won't be tied up for much longer so you can rest easy!

Ichigo and (Y/N) flew towards Senna but were cut off by Ganryu and his followers. Ichigo clashed blades with Ganryu while Jai intercepted (Y/N).

Ganryu: Have you returned for another beating?

Ichigo: Give Senna back!

The fighters backed away from each other before Ganryu summoned a horde of Blanks that covered Senna.

Ganryu: Just when we were trying to awaken her as Shinenju... Because of you two, she will now suffer pain and fear as a human being.

Ichigo: You bastards! Get outta our way!

Ichigo launched a Getsuga Tensho aimed at the Dark Ones. The group spread out to avoid the attack.

(Y/N): Ichigo! Don't worry about the half pints, I'll handle them! Just fight Ganryu!

Ichigo: You can't handle them all and the Blanks!

(Y/N): Psh! My ability thrives in situations like these! Now go!

Ichigo: Alright then, I'll take your word for it...

Ichigo ran off to fight Ganryu but was about to get ambushed by the Dark Ones. (Y/N) made good on his promise and stopped all of the members of the Dark Ones with his amazing speed.

(Y/N): Sorry but you'll have to get through me first.

Jai: Ha ha ha! Be real, you and your friend had a hard time taking me on in our last encounter! Taking all of us on by yourself is a death wish!

(Y/N): The circumstances that took place during our last encounter don't apply here. No one to ambush me and no one to actively protect. I'm free to fight at full strength. And not to mention I wasn't even in Bankai.

Riyan: You expect us to believe a small kid like you has a Bankai?!

(Y/N): You lot have been stuck in the Dangai for too long. Well it's not like you guys are warrant me using Bankai on.

The other two members of the Dark Ones still thought (Y/N) was bluffing. The dark haired one, Mue spoke first.

Mue: Here lies a child filled with aroogance!

The lavender-haired woman, Benin, followed up.

Benin: Blame your own lack of awareness. You should have taken our act of mercy as a gift. You could've lived just a bit longer.

(Y/N) casted Hadō #1. Shō, that pushed Mue back a few feet. In response, Riyan fired tendrils out of his backpack. (Y/N) the casted Bakudō #39. Enkōsen to block most of the tendrils but a few slipped past (Y/N)'s defense and pierced (Y/N) in the back...

But the tendrils only hit an after image. (Y/N) used the Hoho technique Utsusemi to leave an afterimage at the last minute to trick Riyan.

Riyan: Where the hell did the kid go?!

Riyan's question was answered as (Y/N) appeared above him and hit him hard enough that his body flipped over. This allowed (Y/N) to grab Riyan by the feet and throw him into a nearby mountain.



Benin then shot an arrow from her crossbow at (Y/N). (Y/N) evaded the arrow and caught it mid air before throwing it to the ground.



(Y/N) then casted Bakudō #4. Hainawa and wrapped the rope of reishi around Benin. (Y/N) pulled the rope, dragging Benin towards him and hit her with a lariat.

Chakrams then flew in (Y/N)'s direction but the substitute shinigami casted Bakudō #8. Seki to repel the weapons back at Jai.

Bau charged (Y/N) head on attempting to swing his two clubs at him but (Y/N) summoned a worm-shaped hollow that attempted to eat Bau.



Bau used his clubs to stop the worm's jagged teeth from piercing into his flesh. The Hollow then spat Bau out, sending him flying towards Jai, who got hit directly in his chest, causing the two Shinigamis to collide into each other.

All of the members of the Dark Ones shakily got on their feet as they realized how easily (Y/N) was able to knock them down.

Riyan: There's no way this kid was hiding all of this power...?

(Y/N): You did this to yourselves. You didn't take me seriously and this was the result.

Mue: We won't make the same mistake twice!

(Y/N): You already gave me too much time to prepare my next move.

The Dark Ones all charged (Y/N) at once but the worm Hollow wrapped its body around (Y/N) to protect him from the onslaught from every direction. As every one of the Dark One's weapons made contact with the Hollow's skin, it bounced off with ease. The Hollow then left a small opening where multiple small hollows crawled out of it. The smaller hollows shot leech like creatures out of their bodies and latched onto each member of the Dark Ones.

The Worm Hollow then burrowed underground as (Y/N) was revealed now holding onto the leg of the Shrieker, the hollow responsible for the leech-like creatures. The Shrieker took flight, carrying (Y/N) with him.

The Shrieker's tongue then vibrated, prompting the leeches to explode. The Dark Ones were definitely feeling like a joke after being dealt with easily by one Shinigami.

Jai: The Blanks! Let's use them!

Benin: Right!

The group then controlled the Blanks in the area to follow (Y/N) as they attempted to explode in close vicinity of (Y/N). However before they could get close to (Y/N), the worm Hollow from earlier resurfaced, devouring all of the Blanks that went after (Y/N).



(Y/N): I gotta say, you guys are resilient... What will it take to keep you guys down? Maybe the Menos Grande...

(Y/N) spiritual energy rose as he prepared to summon his strongest hollow but (Y/N) immediately felt another spiritual pressure entering the battlefield.

(Y/N) looked up and saw Kenpachi diving onto the battlefield.

(Y/N): Kenpachi?!

Kenpachi landed and caused the entire ground to crumble under his feet, causing everyone to evacuate.

Kenpachi: It's dangerous, over there.

(Y/N): Gee, I wonder why?

(Y/N) felt more spiritual pressures approaching. (Y/N) turned to a nearby cliffside and saw multiple Shinigamis standing on top of it.

Toshiro: Now go, (L/N)! Help Kurosaki defeat Ganryu!

(Y/N): Thanks for the help! I'm counting on you guys!

(Y/N) took off to help Ichigo in his fight against Ganryu. The members of the Dark Ones tried to give chase but were cut off by the Shinigamis.

Benin tried to shoot an arrow at (Y/N) but the moment she pulled the trigger on her crossbow, an arrow seemingly disappeared.

Benin: What's going on?!

"Hey! Is this what you're looking for?"

Benin turned around and saw Soi-Fon standing behind her, arrow in hand. Soi-Fon crushed the arrow with her bare hands just to taunt Benin.

Soi-Fon: *thinking* Make it quick (Y/N)... We don't have much time left...

(End Song)

(Meanwhile) With Ichigo.

Ichigo was engaged in a fierce battle with Ganryu but as the battle raged on, Ganryu gained the upper hand and binded Ichigo to a tree with multiple Blanks. Once restrained, Ganryu began to monologue.

Ganryu: For a millennium, our clan was forced to nest in the crevices of the Dangai Precipice World in disgrace. We were able to endure that suffering until this day... because of our hatred... our desire to destroy Soul Society! And that moment is about to happen! I will not let you interfere!

Four swords manifested out of thin air and were thrown at Ichigo, however the swords never made their mark as (Y/N) parried them all, saving Ichigo from being impaled.

(Y/N) used his scythe to easily cleave through the Blank bindings that started to resemble a tree.

(Y/N): You know... scythes are intended to harvest crops... This is probably the closest I'm gonna get to using it for that purpose.

Thanks to (Y/N)'s help, Ichigo was able to pull himself up.

Ichigo: Thanks for the backup.

(Y/N): Don't thank me. Thank the shinigamis who came to our aid at the last minute.

Ichigo: Then let's wrap this up so that we can thank them properly.

Ganryu: Allow me to ask... Why are you two so determined? The Shinenju is just a collective of memories. A mere remains of what used to be alive.

Both: That's not true!

Ichigo: Senna is here!

(Y/N): And she's alive!

Ichigo: She was confused and afraid, looking for help...

(Y/N): Senna's status as the Shinenju didn't stop her from developing her own wants and needs. Her own emotions. That's something every living person is capable of doing. That's why...

Ichigo:We're going to protect her...

Both: We swore it!

Both Ichigo and (Y/N) spiritual energy rose as they released all of their power. (Y/N) pointed his scythe towards Ganryu.

(Y/N): BAN...KAI!

Just then the Valley of Screams started to fall apart. It seemed like the Soul Society had already launched the Kido Cannon at the dimension.

All of the shinigamis at this point had cleaned up the rest of the members of the Dark Ones and were now waiting on Ganryu's defeat. Though the sight of the Valley of Screams collapsing was unsettling.

Meanwhile, Ichigo and (Y/N) attack in tandem with one another, putting Ganryu on defense. Ganryu backed off as green light shone and multiple swords were created. With his quick reflexes, (Y/N) quickly dodged out of the way.

(Y/N): His swords may be quick but the green light that creates them is a tell sign. They also don't change directions after they're fired. The simple answer to that technique is to react to the light rather than the swords itself.

Ichigo: Got it!

(Y/N) continued to charge spiritual energy as Ichigo fought Ganryu one on one.

(Y/N): *thinking* Me and Ichigo's next attack has to end this... This entire place looks like it's about to collapse...

(Y/N)'s power reached its peak as the sky above started to split open. Just like Uryu's competition and his fight against Unohana, A Menos Grande started to make its appearance known.

Ganryu was obviously stunned as the Menos Grande took a step out of the sky and destroyed the surrounding area, forcing the shinigami to run. While Ichigo and his Menos grande were keeping Ganryu occupied, (Y/N) attempted to free Senna.

The entire environment had been made up of trees created by the Blanks via the Dark One's manipulation. However after breaking through a few tries and sensing her spiritual pressure, (Y/N) was able to pinpoint Senna's location.

(Y/N): Sorry we took so long, Senna.

Senna slowly opened her eyes as she was now face to face with (Y/N).

Senna: (Y-Y/N)? What are you doing here?

(Y/N): Huh? Why bother asking? Isn't it obvious? We came to save you.

(Y/N) carefully pulled Senna out of her restraints and threw her over his shoulder.

(Y/N): The Leader is the only guy left. Once we're done with him, you'll be free.

Senna: "We"?

(Y/N): Who else but me and Ichigo? The moment we recovered we rushed here to get you out of here.

Senna: Why... Why are you going so far? Just for me?

(Y/N): Because you're our friend. I'd do the same with any other friend. And besides... We haven't been on the Ferris Wheel.

Senna couldn't find any words as she saw (Y/N) command the Menos Grande off in the distance.

(Y/N): Let's finish this battle for good!

The Menos Grande began to charge a Cero aimed directly at Ganryu.

(Y/N): Ichigo! Our time's up! Let's finish this!

Ichigo: Right!

Ichigo vanished as he flash stepped out of the way of the Menos Grande's massive Cero. Ganryu tried to block the attack but the beam was far too overwhelming. The Cero swallowed Ganryu as it caused a massive explosion in the area.

Ganryu was left a bleeding mess. His armor was in shambles and he was panting hard.

Ganryu: I won't let it end like this! Not until I get my revenge-

Ganryu was silenced as Ichigo finished the job, cutting Ganryu in half. Ichigo then flew towards (Y/N) and Senna.

Ichigo: Good, you rescued her. I was hoping you didn't accidently crush her after summoning the Menos Grande.

(Y/N): I had a general location of her spiritual pressure so I made sure the Menos didn't trample her on accident. Now come on, we gotta get going.

(Timeskip) The World of the Living.

Urahara and the rest of the gang were sitting on the bridge that was close to the entrance of the Valley of Screams. Everyone waited patiently until they heard Urahara end the silence.

Urahara: They're coming back.

As Urahara predicted, (Y/N) alongside Ichigo, Senna and the other Shinigamis exited the Valley of Screams.

Orihime: Welcome home!

Uryu: Kurosaki, you did it!

Chad gave a thumbs up.

Urahara: Well done. You did it! Quite impressive.

Calavera: I expected no less!

(Y/N): Thanks! I'm just glad that's over with.

Ichigo and (Y/N) turned to their Shinigami allies.

Ichigo: Thanks! Rukia! Renji!

(Y/N): Seriously. If you guys hadn't been there, the battle with Ganryu would've taken way longer.

Renji: Stupid! We didn't do it for you.

(Y/N): Don't be such a tsundere. Just admit you were scared for our wellbeing...

Renji began to argue back but (Y/N) spaced out as he made eye contact with Soi-Fon. Soi-Fon immediately broke eye contact when she saw (Y/N) stare in her direction, but (Y/N) caught it just in time.

(Y/N) made his way over to Soi-Fon nonchalantly and greeted her.

(Y/N): Soi-Fon! It's good to see you again! Thanks for your help.

Soi-Fon: I didn't do much...

(Y/N): That's not what I heard. Rangiku told me you were the one responsible for getting the group together.

Soi-Fon: It isn't like I recruited every single shinigami that came to your rescue, I just asked Captain Hitsugaya and Captain Zaraki for their help and they went ahead and got help from individuals they trusted.

(Y/N): It's the thought that counts.

Unfortunately, a strong wind picked up as the group felt a vibration.

Renji: It's not stopping?!

Orihime: Then what'll happen?

Urahara: This is not good.

Senna, without warning, flew over the gateway to the Valley of Screams.

Ichigo: Wait!

(Y/N): Is she really planning to do what I think she's doing?

(Y/N) thought that with the destruction of the Valley of Screams, maybe the two realms would put itself back in its correct positions, but that didn't seem to be the case. Perhaps the Shinenju was needed to revert the realms back to normal after all.

Ichigo and (Y/N) followed after Senna. The three shinigamis watch as the gateway showed no signs of closing.

Senna: (Y/N)... Ichigo... I'm scared. But... I won't let it happen. Not when it's such a wonderful world. Not when... so many people live in it. Not when... You both live here!

Senna began to reminisce on the time she spent with (Y/N) and Ichigo.

The time she dragged (Y/N) around the mall, exploring every little shop they came across.

The time they all had lunch together.

Spending the night at Ichigo's house.

Even helping Tomoya find his father.

Despite only waking up a few days prior, it was never a dull moment with (Y/N) and Ichigo around. She made memories that she'll cherish even in her last moments.

Senna: It's okay. The Blanks are still near me. If I release their energy all at once, the two worlds can probably be returned to normal.

(Y/N): But if you do that, then you'll disappear!

Senna: If there's no world, you'll be gone, too... I don't want that.

Senna began to glow as she began to harness the power of the Blanks.

Ichigo: Stop! You still have-

Senna: I don't want either of you to die instead of me!

(Y/N): W-We can figure something out! Come on, don't be hasty!

Senna: It's too late... (Y/N)... Ichigo... Thank you for being kind enough to put up with me!

The Blanks began to wrap around Senna as she used their power to fix the two realms. The two Shinigami's vision was blinded by the massive amount of blanks separating them from Senna.

(Timeskip)

Senna eyes as she saw herself laying against the glass of a passenger cabin.

Senna: Where... am I?

"The Ferris Wheel."

Senna: Huh?

Senna weakly leaned herself against the side of the passenger cabin before looking at the person in front of her.

(Y/N).

Senna: But how?

(Y/N): I snuck us in. Thank Ichigo for distracting the employees long enough for us to get into one of the cabs.

Senna: How were you so sure I would wake up in time to witness it?

(Y/N): I didn't. I took a chance. I opted to just borrow money from my friends but it would be impossible for the employees to allow an unconscious person on something like a ferris wheel. So I thought, "let's take the biggest risk ever".

Senna: I didn't take you for the type to break the rules.

(Y/N): Only when it's to help others. I made a promise and I'm going to keep it.

Senna: What will we do if the operators find out?

(Y/N): I'll figure something out...

...

...

...

Senna: Hey, (Y/N)...

(Y/N): Yeah?

Senna: Thanks. The Ferris Wheel is just what I imagined it would be like.

(Y/N): Don't mention it. Oh right!

(Y/N) took out the red ribbon he bought Senna.

(Y/N): You dropped this when you got kidnapped.

Senna: Keep it. I won't be needing it anymore. Think of it as memento.

(Y/N): Alright then.

Senna: There's one more favor I'd like to ask.

(Y/N): What is it?

After leaving the amusement park. (Y/N) and Senna regroup with Ichigo and they were now walking down the riverbed that Senna had memories of. Midway through walking, Senna began to stumble, which prompted Ichigo to give her a piggyback ride. Then later, Senna's vision started to fade.

Senna's time in this world was coming to an end.

The three finally made their way to the cemetery where Senna believed her "parents" were buried.

Senna: I want you to check my family grave... Remember yesterday, I told you it was here? I was alive once for sure... and I lived in this town...

Ichigo: So...

Senna: I must've had a family. I existed. So there should be a name on the grave...

Ichigo: Was it around here?

Senna: The fourth one from the end.

The two boys followed Senna's direction and came across a tombstone.

Senna: Is there... a name? My vision is blurred...

Ichigo and (Y/N) checked the name engraved on the tombstone.

Kazuo Sato

1896 - 1945

Manabu Sato

1903 - 1976

Senna's name wasn't there. She didn't exist. But neither (Y/N) nor Ichigo could bring themselves to tell her.

One particular comment Senna said in the past seemingly flashed in both Ichigo and (Y/N)'s head.

"That boy has to leave this world soon. And a long journey awaits him... It's his last wish. How sad if it doesn't come true. I can't bring myself to perform a Konso like this. I want to at least give him a good last memory."

It would break Senna's spirit to know she would leave the world without one last good memory.

Senna: Is it there?

Ichigo: Yeah, it's here.

(Y/N): You lived in this town. You had a family, too.

Both boys lied. They couldn't possibly bring themselves to let her know the truth. Senna, however, let tears of joy run down her face. Senna's body began to glow as she began to fade from existence.

Senna: I'm glad... It feels so warm. We'll... meet again, won't we?

Ichigo: What're you saying? Of course...

(Y/N): You better have a bucket list next time we meet...

Senna didn't give an answer back as she vanished into thin air. Ichigo knelt down and tried his best to come to terms with the situation.



Meanwhile, (Y/N) stood up straight not showing a visible reaction.

Rukia seemingly was waiting for the right moment to show herself and walked towards the two boys.

Rukia: The Blanks' energy will soon be depleted. And everything about Senna will fade from our memories. Memories of those that never existed can't possibly remain...

Ichigo stood up and turned to Rukia.

I know she'll be gone soon, but right now... I can still hear her voice.

Rukia looked at (Y/N), who still stood still.

Rukia: Are you alright, (Y/N).

(Y/N): Yeah I'm fine, except... It's a terrible day for rain...

Rukia: What do you mean? It's not raining...

(Y/N) rose his head as he tried to hold back tears... Unfortunately the tears still found a way to stream down his face.

(Y/N): Yes... it is.

Rukia: So it is...
