After the fiasco that happened the night before, (F/N) was expecting to wake up to find out everything was a dream.

He was wrong.

(F/N) got the next few days off after the insane night, (F/N) was going to use it to the fullest. However, the moment he took a step outside he noticed the most bizarre thing ever.

He could see spirits.

Sure he did it the night before, but now that the adrenaline calmed down, he was shocked all over again.

(F/N): This can't be real right?

(F/N) spent half of the day just walking around town, looking at the floating spirits, a slight few playing harmless tricks on the unaware. (F/N) honestly didn't know what to do with this new ability of his.

Was it a blessing or a curse?

As (F/N) continued to walk around he saw a familiar face.

(F/N): Hey, you're the weird girl with the wings from last night. (M/N) right?

(M/N): Oh, it's just you.

(M/N) was sitting down in an alleyway, still haven't recovered from her wounds. She was a spirit so she couldn't get any physical help. (F/N) honestly felt bad for her.

(F/N): Some pretty serious wounds. That monster really did a number on you last night didn't he?

(M/N): Most of these aren't from the Hollow from last night, rather prior to me joining the fight.

(F/N): A Hollow? Is that what that thing is called?

(M/N): Yes. I'm also one of them.

(F/N): You? You hardly look like one of them. Sure you had your weird wings and stuff but, hardly anything on the level of that monstrosity.

(M/N): You say that but I used to look similar to something like that once. You see, we hollows evolve after consuming hundreds or even thousands of souls. Eventually we take the shape of a more human-like appearance.

(F/N): That sounds... horrifying.

(M/N): Such is the life of a monster.

(F/N): Have you ever felt tired of living a life like that?

(M/N): Of course.

(F/N): You call yourself a monster but you seem so different than I would expect.

(M/N): ...

(F/N): Do you have any kind of way to heal? I wish I had a way to help but as it stands now, there's no way for a human like myself to have an answer to a world that I've only discovered last night.

(M/N): I used to have the ability to regenerate from wounds like these but I seemed to have lost the ability due to... problems in the past.

(F/N): I see...

???: Then maybe I can help!

Both: Huh?

(M/N) grabbed the hilt of her sword, ready to engage in combat, but (F/N) quickly tried to deescalate the situation.

(F/N): Okay let's not get hasty here! Who are you? Seems like you can see spirits. Am I correct?

Urahara: Right you are. My name's Kisuke Urahara. Pleasure to meet you.

(M/N): I've heard the name before.

Urahara: Really? By the looks of you, you're an arrancar. Who could've possibly done this to you?

(M/N): Like I'd talk to you, Shinigami.

(F/N): Shinigami? I heard the Isshin guy call himself a Shinigami last night. What exactly is that?

Urahara: I can explain more if you come with me. I promise I'm not here to cause any problems. On the contrary, I'm here to help. The other two you met last night are not too far away. So what do you say?

(F/N): I don't know much about this whole supernatural mumbo jumbo so the only thing I can do is trust you, but my acquaintance here doesn't seem to be happy to work with you.

Urahara: You should probably think it over.

(M/N): I've already made up my mind.

Urahara: You said you've heard of me, correct? I assumed it was from Sosuke Aizen?

(M/N) was taken off guard, she only knew Urahara by name. She didn't know if Aizen and Urahara worked together or not so she wasn't trusting of him at the mention of the name.

Urahara: I can fill you in on what Aizen is trying to accomplish if you tag along.

(M/N): Will you really?

Urahara: You have my word.

(M/N): ... Fine

Urahara: Great! Now, follow me.

(F/N) helped (M/N) onto her feet and helped her walk to their destination.

(Timeskip)

(F/N) felt an information overload. Urahara was just spouting nonsense in (F/N)'s opinion and none of it sat with him. (M/N) essentially had to dumb everything down for him. It wasn't (F/N)'s fault though, he's only now learned that the supernatural existed.

(F/N): So basically the crack in that skull of yours is leaking this "spiritual energy" of yours. That and along with these experiments that you went under is halting your recovery? Am I getting everything correct?

(M/N): Yes, pretty much.

(F/N): And what of the other girl, Misaki?

Urahara: I've had Isshin take care of her issue with the Hollowification. In layman's terms, Isshin will sacrifice his powers to keep Misaki alive. Isshin will become a Human with no abilities.

(F/N): I see. So how can we fix (M/N)'s problem?

Urahara: Similar to Isshin, I'll have (M/N) enter a Gigai, that way she will be able to be seen by the normal person. While she's in that Gigai, she'll have something to protect her soul while it heals. In the meantime, I'll teach you the basics on spiritual energy. Now that you have powers, it'll be necessary to protect yourself. Your spiritual energy is now higher than most people so Hollows are more likely to target you.

(F/N): So my life is now going to be in constant danger? *sign*

Urahara: Your power is pretty abnormal. You may be able to discover more than I could tell you by just experimenting with it.

(F/N): Well, I'll be visiting you on my days for this "training".

(M/N): Now, can we start with this whole "Gigai transfer" thing?

Urahara: Alright, I'll get everything ready.

(Timeskip)

Once the transfer was completed, (M/N) was able to move much more freely. She surprisingly looked the same with the exception that the skull that was visible on the right side of her head wasn't visible.

Urahara: Anything feel off?

(M/N): No. I feel... great actually.

Urahara: Then everything has been a success. Now all you have to do is wait for a full recovery. Although we aren't sure how long it'll take.

(F/N): So, (M/N), what do you plan to do in the meantime?

(M/N): Me? Why do you want to know?

(F/N): Curiosity is all. You don't have a place to stay right? Now that you're human, you're going to need a place to stay and food to eat. Also, a job so that you can actually pay for those stuff.

(M/N): I didn't really have the time to think of all of that.

(F/N): *sign* Well, then you can stay at my house for the time being. Until you can get your feet off the ground.

(M/N): Huh? And why should I?

(F/N): Do you have any other options?

(M/N): ...Fine.

(F/N): Don't sound annoyed! I'm being nice here!

(M/N): I didn't ask for hospitality!

(F/N): You would have eventually! You can't stay on the streets!

Urahara: Alright you two, settle down. This is a situation that's tough on everyone involved.

(F/N): R-right, I'm sorry.

(M/N): Don't apologize... I guess I was just a bit stubborn.

(F/N): Anyways I think everything here is all cleared up. Can we say that the problem is resolved for now.

Urahara: For now, yes. Keep in mind you're now a supernatural being (F/N). Things are going to get harder for you from now on. Be sure to always come here on your days off for training, alright?

(F/N): Yeah, I got it.

Urahara: Now run along. I've got a business to run tomorrow, I need my rest.

(M/N): Don't forget our agreement Urahara. I want my information on Aizen as well.

Urahara: I'll be sure to give it to you during your next visit.

(Flashback End)

(F/N): And that's the story. The first meeting between your mother and I. Obviously there's more to your mother's story but I think this much should be sufficient for the night.

(Y/N): Yeah... The person you described sounded almost nothing like mom. She seemed so...

(F/N): Angry? Distrusting? Yeah that was her when she first got here. Trust me, your mom did a complete 180. Living with your mother for the first few months was honestly hell on earth. She sucked at chores and she took her anger out on everything she got frustrated with.

(S/N): You're telling me? Mom looks like she wouldn't hurt a fly.

(F/N): Your mother could go toe to toe with a lot of captains from the soul society at her best if she wanted too.

(Y/N): Really?

(F/N): Really. Once she was all healed up, she would use me as a training dummy. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten my ass beat before I finally won a match against her.

(S/N): So when did mom start acting like... you know... Mom?

(F/N): I guess, when I started taking her out on dates. Safe to say that your mother sucked at social interactions in the World of the Living when she was by herself. I had to make sure she didn't do anything that would get herself in trouble. But your mom started to learn how to interact, she started learning different hobbies, she started to make friends. If you ask me, she just wasn't comfortable in an unfamiliar world. So once she settled in, she became the woman you grew up to know.

(Y/N): Yeah I guess that makes sense. So where did Mom work? By the time we were born, mom stopped working.

(F/N): Take a wild guess. You are more familiar with it than anyone else.

(Y/N): Oh no. Don't tell me she worked with Mr. Urahara.

(F/N): Bingo. She thought it would be a good idea if she could strangle any little information about Aizen out of Kisuke as she could. So she worked with him for a few years to see how much he was hiding.

(S/N): Say who were mom's friends anyway?

(F/N): Who else but Isshin and Masaki?

(Y/N): Ichigo's parents? That makes sense. Mom and Ms. Kurosaki pretty much hung out all the time. But from what you described, they were both total opposites back in the day. How'd that happen?

(F/N): Well, whenever Masaki wanted to hang she would invite (M/N). Even if (M/N) declined she would just drag her along anyway. Eventually (M/N) went with the flow since she knew Misaki would never take "no" for an answer. But (M/N) seemed as though she genuinely liked the company.

(S/N): Oh! When did you realize Mom fell in love with you?

(F/N): Oh that! Well, I think it was about 2 years after everything happened. I had a junior colleague who stopped by the house to give me a gift after I helped her out with a problem. Your mom saw the entire interaction. It actually caught me off guard because I never took her for the jealous type. *chuckles* I didn't even see my junior colleague in that kind of way, but (M/N) bombarded me with questions after she left.

(S/N): So what did you do afterward?

(F/N): I took her out to eat and asked her out. Of course she wasn't used to the whole relationship thing, so she stumbled on her words, but she agreed to it in the end.

(F/N) then got up from the dining room table, stretching as he got up.

(F/N): I guess that's enough Q&A for tonight. I'm sure (Y/N) might have a few more questions, but it's getting late.

(Y/N): I'm satisfied with what I got. Thanks dad.

(F/N): You're welcome... And I'm sorry for hiding this from you. Both of you.

(S/N): No it's okay, really. Right (Y/N)?

(Y/N): Yeah, I could see why. It must've been rough for you.

(F/N): Nah, don't worry about me. I've come to terms about what happened. Welp, Good night you two. Get some rest, you have school in the morning.

Both: Okay.

(Y/N) had one last question he wanted to ask, but felt like it wasn't something he should burden his dad with, at least for now.

(Y/N): *thinking* If mom is as powerful as Dad says she is. That car accident we got in shouldn't have been able to kill her. So what really killed her?

(Y/N) shook the thought out of his head. He could always ask his dad on another day. But for now, he should get some rest. He now understood a lot more about his mom and dad, and in return, himself. And he felt a huge burden off of his shoulder.

To be continued

This pretty much the epilogue chapter to the (F/N) flash back. There may be more flashback chapters but I'm not entirely sure when I'll incorporate them. They may be more (M/N) focused, just o flush her out even more than I did in these last two chapters.
