Tatsuki has been observing (Y/N)'s interaction with the new students since they got here, more specifically this "Soi-Fon" person. Tatsuki has never seen (Y/N) interact in such a unique way before. Playful banter wasn't something Tatsuki wasn't something she was accustomed to seeing from (Y/N), however he did it a lot when talking to Soi-Fon. (Y/N) was also extremely distracted during class, mostly because of the multiple questions she tended to ask throughout classes. Heck, even out of class, they were practically attached to the hip. Tatsuki couldn't help but feel a bit jealous at how much attention (Y/N) was giving to her.

This didn't go unnoticed by some of Tatsuki's friends.

Chizuru: Maybe Keigo was right about you, Tatsuki. I didn't believe him at first, but maybe you do have a crush on (Y/N).

Keigo: See! See! I knew I wasn't crazy.

Tatsuki: *blushes* W-Wha? No I don't!

Chizuru: Come on~ Don't lie. We've all seen how much you were seething at the new girl who was talking to him.

Mizuiro: They seemed pretty close. Honestly it seemed Ichigo and (Y/N) knew those guys pretty well. How do they know them?

Tatsuki: I don't know. Do you know anything, Orihime?

Orihime: H-Huh? Me? N-nope... heh heh *whistle*

Tatsuki: Orihime, we all know how bad you are at lying.

Mizuiro: Yeah, that's not really good acting.

Chizuru: Ohhhh~ Does Orihime know about Tatsuki's love rival?

Tatsuki: I'm not in love!

Keigo: She's strongly in denial!

Chizuru: Sooooo.... Spill the beans, Orihime. What do you know?

Orihime: I plead the fifth! Mizuiro: This isn't a police interrogation.

Tatsuki: *signs* If you guys are so curious, why not just ask the source?

Chizuru: Going straight to (Y/N) for answers? You're extremely bold, Tatsuki?

Tatsuki: One more word out of you and I'll knock you out.

Tatsuki then got up and walked towards (Y/N) who was talking to the new students. (Y/N) noticed Tatsuki making her way towards the group and turned to her and walked away form the group for a bit.

(Y/N): Oh hey Tatsuki! You need something?

Tatsuki: O-oh! Hey, (Y/N)! I just wanted to ask something.

(Y/N): Go ahead.

Tatsuki: How do you know these guys? You met them before?

(Y/N) obviously couldn't tell her the truth so he just kept as vague as possible.

(Y/N): Oh, I met them during summer break.

Tatsuki: I-I see... That girl, the one with the black hair... You two seemed close, what's up with that?

(Y/N): Huh? Yeah, we're good friends-

Just then Soi-Fon approached (Y/N).

Soi-Fon: (Y/N), everyone else is ready to leave.

Tatsuki: Hey wait a minute, we're still in the middle of a conversation.

Soi-Fon: Oh, I didn't see you there. You're... Satsuki?

Tatsuki: It's Tatsuki! A-anyway, you're Soi-Fon right? How did you get to know (Y/N)?

Soi-Fon: Him? In a fight.

Tatsuki and (Y/N) was caught off guard with Soi-Fon's blunt response. (Y/N) didn't want Tatsuki to think he was some weird guy who was beating people for no reason.

(Y/N): Ignore her, that's not-

Tatsuki: I don't believe it. (Y/N) wouldn't hurt a fly. He dropped martial arts for a reason.

Poor tatsuki, if only she knew...

Soi-Fon: Huh? That's not true at all. (Y/N) volunteered to be my sparring partner. As much as I hate to admit it, he's just as good or better than I am.

Tatsuki: Is he now?

Tatsuki turned to (Y/N).

Tatsuki: You decided to pick up martial arts again and never told me?

(Y/N) was at least glad that Tatsuki wasn't suspicious of his double life as a Shinigami. He decided to let this misunderstanding continue to save himself.

(Y/N): W-well, you know... I wanted to keep it a secret.

Tatsuki still was a bit unconvinced but decided to drop the issue.

Tatsuki: Well if you two are going to practice then I won't get in the way, but (Y/N)...

(Y/N): Yes?

Tatsuki: Promise you won't keep secrets again?

(Y/N): Y-yeah, don't worry...

Tatsuki: Good. I'll talk to you later!

(Y/N) signed in relief. He dodged a bullet. Soi-fon looked confused.

Soi-Fon: You keep your life as a Shinigami a secret from your friends?

(Y/N): Yeah. Most of them wouldn't believe it and even if they did, I don't want them to be worried for my safety.

Soi-Fon: I see...

From a distance Renji called out to both of them.

Renji: Hey, we're heading out, let's go.

(Y/N): Right.

As (Y/N) left with the new group of students, everyone surrounded Tatsuki, bombarding her with questions. Chizuru was the first one to ask questions.

Chizuru: So, what did you learn? Are they dating? His (Y/N) really a playboy? We should've known that kind attitude was a facade!

Tatsuki: Slow down, Chizuru. They're just friends. He apparently met them during summer break. Honestly there might be more to it but I'm not sure what it is.

Chizuru: Just friends, huh? How did they become friends?

Tatsuki: Apparently (Y/N) picked up martial arts again in secret and didn't tell anyone. Soi-Fon seems to take it up too and that's how they met.

Keigo: Oh? I'm seeing a pattern! Black, short hair! Martial arts! (Y/N) definitely has a type!

Chizuru: You may be onto something Keigo. Both the new girl and Tatsuki fit that description! You know what you have to do Tatsuki! Challenge the new girl to a fight and prove that you're the only one for (Y/N)!

Tatsuki: *Blushes* I-I already told you guys, I don't like (Y/N)! B-besides, hypothetically if I did, I doubt (Y/N) would like it if we did...

Keigo: She's in denial again.

Chizuru: The first step in making progress is to accept your feelings.

This was going to be a long day for Tatsuki.

Ichigo had already headed home with Rukia, so everyone else was catching up. (Y/N) decided to call Ichigo to let him know that everyone was coming over for a meeting in regards to the Arrancar/Aizen problem. Ichigo wasn't entirely sure how everyone would be able to get in but (Y/N) suggested having everyone else sneak in while he acts as if he's visiting as per usual. After all, Ichigo's family knew who he was.

The moment everyone was in Ichigo's room they started the discussion.

Rukia: The Arrancars are a group of Hollows that have removed their masks, and have gained the powers of both Hollows and Shinigami. Until recently, they were few and imperfect but now that Aizen, with his Hogyoku, has come into contact with them, mature Arrancar have been born. That's what those two were the other day. You're with us so far?

Rukia explained with her infamous drawn visuals.

Ichigo: Yeah, I understand... If not for the sketchbook I'd understand it better.

Renji: In the beginning, Soul Society planned to take a wait-and-see attitude until Aizen decided to take matters into his own hands. On our side, three of our captains pulled out and went over to the enemy. But meanwhile, the Arrancars were completed quicker than we expected and they were sent into this world, so we couldn't sit back any longer. And that's when we were quickly selected.

(Y/N): Who made the selections?

Renji: General Captain Yamamoto. The Central has been vacant since Aizen eliminated the leaders. During its vacancy, the General Captain has the decision-making authority. So, the one who knows you best, Rukia, was chosen...

Rukia: No! I was chosen for my abilities!

Renji: And out of the combatants they could mobilize, I was selected for being the closest to Rukia. Then I was told to choose those other than the captains that I trusted most, so I asked Ikkaku to accompany me. Then Yumichika said he had to come along and Rangiku, who heard the uproar, said she wanted to come because it sounded interesting. Rangiku wouldn't be swayed, so Captain Hitsugaya was forced to come along to supervise. Soi-Fon also volunteered to come along as a way to gather intel on any of the arrancar that came along. And so we're here.

Just then Hitsugaya, who was sitting on the ledge of the window, chimed in.

Hitsugaya: Anyway... Aizen's definitely got his eye on both of you.

Rangiku: Aha! It's Captain Hitsugaya, the only one who refused to go up into the ceiling with us!

Renji: Were you waiting up on the roof all this time? That's not good! You know how you stand out like a silver-haired elementary student.

Hitsugaya: Shut up! *ahem* Anyways, it's true that an Arrancar is born when the mask is removed from a Hollow. But removing the mask of your run-of-the-mill Hollow wouldn't get you much of anything. If Aizen is serious about declaring war on Soul Society, it'll naturally be something greater than the Menos.

(Y/N): Greater than the Menos? What? That sounds like you're saying there are Hollows stronger than the Menos.

Hitsugaya: Yeah... Well, more precisely, there are three classes within the Menos. The first is the "Gillian," the lowest class within the Menos, and they are many. Their characteristic is that they all look the same. The Hollow you banished in this world, soon after you gained the power of a Soul Reaper was of this kind. I guess you could call them the small fry.

Ichigo: That one...was a small fry?

Hitsugaya: They're huge, but their movements are sluggish and they are no more intelligent than beasts. It doesn't take much for a captain to kill one. The problem begins with the next level. The second class is the "Adjuchas." They're somewhat smaller than the Gillians, and there are fewer of them, but they are highly intelligent and much better fighters than the Gillians.

(Y/N) listened intently.

Hitsugaya: And the third are the Vasto Lordes. They are the top class within the Menos. They are equal to humans in size. There are said to be only a few of them within Hueco Mundo, but...

I'll give it to you straight. These Vasto Lordes are stronger than our Soul Reaper captains!

(Y/N) and Ichigo were flabbergasted by the statement.

Hitsugaya: The power gained by the Menos by turning into Arrancars is an unknown quantity. But now that three of our captains have defected to lead the Menos, this is a fact...

If Aizen now has more than ten of these Vasto Lordes under his control... It'll be the end of Soul Society.

(Y/N): But what if we got that many Vasto Lordes on our side?

The shinigamis in the room were confused by (Y/N)'s question?

Soi-Fon: I'm not entirely sure what you're getting at, (Y/N). What are you suggesting?

Hitsugaya: Agreed. We don't have a Hogyoku like Aizen does, and even then, what Hollow would volunteer to fight with us?

(Y/N): *facepalm* I feel like you guys are looking at this too narrowly.

(Y/N) then summons his three newly acquired arrancars, Siegfried, Panzer and Merlin.

(Y/N): I've already been ahead of the curb. I've been slowly creating an army of arrancar of my own. What I'm trying to say is if Aizen has the potential to have 10 Vasto Lorde level arrancars on his side, then I can create Arrancars of my own to combat them.

The two captains in the room gave each other a look before looking back at (Y/N).

Hitsugaya: I'll admit (Y/N), I'm glad you're on our side. You're a bit too intelligent to already be thinking of this kind of possibility. However the problem is actually taking on the Vasto Lorde. Don't forget, these Hollows are stronger than Shinigami captains, and not only that, they're rare.

Soi-Fon: Do you have a plan to find one?

(Y/N): To find one? No. However, I do have a plan to create one. If Hollows evolved by consuming each other or other souls, Why not have my Hollows consume a lot of them? We don't have to target specifically Vasto Lordes, we just have to evolve them one class at a time. The only problem is I don't know how much time that would realistically take.

Hitsugaya: Hmm... It's not a bad idea. It's worth a try with at least one Hollow to test the waters.

(Y/N): Well that can be discussed at a later date. There's still many things about my ability that I'm still learning about.

Ichigo: Now that that's out of the way, when are you guys going back home?

Renji: What do you mean? We're not going home. We're going to stay until our fight with the Arrancars is over.

(Y/N): Huh! You're staying? But where are you going to sleep?

Ichigo: Let me make this clear. We don't have enough space to keep all of you!

Rangiku: Huh?! Not even me?

Ichigo: Y-Yikes! If you think about it, you're the last person I'd allow to stay! For that matter, I have no idea why you would think I'd let you stay in the first place!

Rangiku then started to... "persuade" Ichigo.

Ichigo: What are you doing?! You may undo a button, but what's impossible is impossible!

Rangiku then tried a little harder. Soi-Fon made it a point to cover (Y/N)'s eyes.

Ichigo: Not even if you lift your skirt a little! Damn! I will not give in to temptation! I'm a man who never gives in to temptation!

Ichigo covered up his eyes with hands, however he did leave some space to take a peak.

(Y/N): Do your best, Ichigo!

Rukia: If that's the case, why don't you close your fingers?

Rangiku: Well, for now... I'll have Orihime put me up!

Ichigo: What do you mean? Did you already get her permission?

Rangiku: Not yet, but she's the type that just can't say "no." Do you want to come too, Captain?

Hitsugaya: You think I'd go, idiot?!

Rangiku: You should come! It'll be fun.

Hitsugaya: For you, maybe.

Ikkaku: We're going too.

(Y/N): You have somewhere to go?

Ikkaku:Of course not.

Yumichika: No need to worry. We won't depend on you. We'll find a place to stay on our own.

Ichigo: You'd better keep that wooden sword hidden!

Renji: Well then, I'll be going to Mr. Urahara's place.

(Y/N): Makes sense. What about you Soi-Fon? I assume you'll stay with Mr. Urahara too? Yoruichi is there, so it makes sense.

Soi-Fon: As much as I want to visit Yoruichi, I can't stand to look in the face of that man.

(Y/N): Yikes... the hatred is that strong?

Soi-Fon: Yes. Anyway, I've decided I'll stay with you.

(Y/N): Huh?

Soi-Fon: Is there a problem with that?

(Y/N): Well I'll need permission from my father. After all, I can't just bring a guest uninvited.

Soi-Fon: Fine. If things don't work out I'll swallow my pride and just ask Kisuke...

(Y/N): Well, follow me. I'll see you tomorrow Ichigo.

Ichigo: Of course.

As (Y/N) and Soi-Fon walked off, Rukia decided to chime in.

Rukia: When did (Y/N) and Captain Soi-Fon get so close?

Ichigo: I have a lot to catch you up on.
