Back to the War. Shinji's POV
Shinji was holding Hiyori's unconscious body as he glared at Aizen intensely.
Aizen: What a fierce look. Your eyes look as if they've come back to life for the first time in a hundred years, Shinji Hirako. Do you hate me? If you do, then come at me. I shall make an exception for you and fight you with my sword.
Shinji looked over to Hachi.
Shinji: Hachi.
Hachi: Yes?
Shinji: Sorry to ask you for this in your current condition, but take care of Hiyori. Do whatever you can to keep her alive. Just until Ichigo returns.
Hachi: I will.
Shinji left to approach Aizen. As Shinji flew up to begin the fight, Aizen decided to ask Shinji a question.
Aizen: "Until Ichigo returns," huh? You trust that boy quite a lot, don't you?
Shinji: It's something you can't understand. Not someone who can't even trust his comrades.
Aizen: Believing is the same as relying. That is something the weak do. We have no need for that.
Shinji: That's pretty rich coming from a guy with that many henchmen. You used your silver tongue to trick your subordinates into trusting you.
Aizen: No. I've never told my subordinates to trust me. I told them to follow me, but I never told them to trust me. I always told them never to trust anyone, including me. But sadly, there aren't any who are strong enough to do that. All creatures are unable to survive unless they trust and obey someone who is better than they are. To escape that pressure, those who are better than others search for their superiors. Those who are superior, search for even stronger individuals they can believe in. Thus the king of everything was born. Thus the god of everything was born.
Aizen's demeanor changed to a more intimidating tone as he said that last line.
Aizen: Don't believe me yet, Shinji Hirako. I'm going to take my time and show you which god you should believe in. You can decide on what to believe afterwards.
Meanwhile
Captain Komamura and Hisagi were currently facing off against Tosen.
Tosen: I'm surprised. I never expected Lord Aizen to go to the front lines. Since Lord Aizen has made a move, I should take you on with my true power.
Komamura: True...power? Your Bankai, huh? Very well. I shall use mine too.
Tosen: My Bankai? Don't make me laugh. Lord Aizen gave me a power that is far better than a Bankai.
Komamura: Damn you, Tosen! Could it be?! No...
Tosen raised his hand towards his face, similar to what Ichigo, (Y/N) and the vizards do when they hollowfy.
Komamura: Stop! Tosen!
Tosen didn't listen as he completed his action. Tosen's power raised as a familiar hollow mask was shown on Tosen's face. Tosen had learned hollowfication.
Komamura: Is that how far you've fallen?! Tosen!
Hisagi: Captain... Hollowfication... Is that...Is that a Hollowfication, Captain Tosen?!
Tosen: That's right.
https://youtu.be/RqvUF0xE9x4
???: If you truly believe that learning hollowfication warrants you to not use Bankai, then I'll tell you right now, you'll lose.
Both Komamura and Hisagi turned around to see (Y/N)standing behind them. Standing next to him was Sung-Sun.
Sung-Sun: Not even us arrancars knew Tosen had this ability in his repertoire.
(Y/N): It definitely changes the plan a bit but if he's not going to use Bankai then that works in our favor.
Hisagi: (Y/N)? W-what are you doing here? I thought you were resting after your fight with Espada #2?
(Y/N): Oh, Hisagi. Well, I had a plan that could help us take down Tosen and Gin. The Aizen plan is still in development. Quite frankly, the guy is an enigma.
Komamura: Having you at our side will be to our advantage. You're the only person on the battlefield familiar with Hollowfication.
Tosen: Hmph? You truly think you can take me down, let alone Lord Aizen?
(Y/N): I've taken you down once before. I can certainly do it again.
Tosen: But a fluke. However, I should thank you.
(Y/N): Huh?
Tosen: That display at Sokyoku Hill opened my eyes. Thanks to you, Lord Aizen was gracious enough bestowed upon me the power to hollowfy after asking him.
Sung-Sun: You seem to have mentally scarred him, (Y/N).
(Y/N): Yeah, most likely.
Tosen: Now then, I believe we've chatted long enough.
Tosen flash stepped and went for an attack towards Hisagi. (Y/N) turned towards Sung-Sun.
(Y/N): Sung-Sun, remember the plan!
Sung-Sun: Right!
(Flashback)
(Y/N): So with the information we have gathered, here's what I think. Gin is probably a bigger threat between him and Tosen. However we have to look out for is Tosen's Bankai.
(Y/N) turned towards Sung-Sun.
(Y/N): I'll take on Tosen and I'll need your help with this battle, Sung-Sun.
Sung-Sun looked surprised.
Sung-Sun: Me?
(Y/N): I'm thinking we should act as support for Captain Komamura and Hisagi. We're in no position to fight on the front lines currently. You're probably the most nimble out of everyone currently. We should mirror each other's movements and stay next to each other. When I move left, you move left and vice versa. Tosen's Bankai cuts off the senses of everyone who's in his vicinity so the best way to win in a fight like that is to stay close enough to assist the person who's targeted by Tosen. If any one gets targeted we restrain Tosen and signal the other by reaching out and touching them. Touch is the only sense that isn't taken away by Tosen's ability.
Sung-Sun: Understood. But how exactly are we going to provide support?
(Y/N): We simply stay close enough to reposition Captain Komamura and Hisagi out of danger and if Tosen leaves himself vulnerable, that's when we jump in.
Sung-Sun: Understood.

Right as Tosen was about to land a sword swing on Hisagi, multiple snakes wrapped themselves around Hisagi's waist as Sung-Sun, who had summoned the snakes, pulled Hisagi out of the way of the attack. (Y/N) then threw his scythe at Tosen as he had an opportunity. Tosen however, was quick enough to block the attack. Tosen was put on the defensive yet again as Komamura's Bankai, which was a giant samurai avatar, swung his blade down at Tosen.
Tosen blocked the attack without even looking at the monstrous being towering over him. Tosen then turned his body, landing a fierce kick towards Komamura's abdomen, sending him flying.
Komamura: What...is...this power?!
As Komamura crashed into debris, Tosen turned towards him.
Tosen: How odd. Those half-Shinigami boys you consider as an ally have the power of Hollowfication as well. Must you scorn me so much for gaining this power?
Komamura: Both (Y/N) (L/N) and Ichigo Kurosaki did not Hollowfy by choice. But you are different. As a Soul Reaper, you had more than enough strength. And yet, you went astray of your own volition! Yours is that of corruption, Tosen!
Tosen: Corruption? How is it corrupt for Shinigamis to become closer to Hollows? Such words come from a narrow-minded dualism that deems Shinigamis and Hollows as good and evil.
Komamura: No! You betrayed your comrades, you betrayed your friends, and you even betrayed your subordinates. All for the sake of gaining excessive power. That is corruption!
As Kommamura and Tosen were conversing, (Y/N) gave Sung-Sun another signal. (Y/N) then looked at Hisagi.
(Y/N): We have a clean shot right now. Hisagi. Can you restrain Tosen from here?
Hisagi: Yeah.
(Y/N): Alright then... Sung-Sun, you know what to do.
Sung-Sun nodded and casted Muda. The surrounding area was covered in smoke and Hisagi used that chance to wrap the chain that was attached to his sickles around Tosen's neck and throw him into (Y/N). (Y/N) then delivered a barrage of scythe attacks that drained Tosen of a lot of his spiritual energy.
Hisagi's sickles then wrapped around Tosen yet again, throwing him into a nearby building where Hisagi then pinned Tosen down, choking him.
Hisagi: "If you truly fear battle from the bottom of your heart, then you have gained something that is invaluable to a warrior!" I...I cannot understand, Captain Tosen. Those were your words. So why did you discard everything for power?! Right now, what are you afraid of?!
Tosen immediately stabbed Hisagi in the stomach.
Hisagi: Cap...tain... Tosen...
Tosen: I am afraid. These past hundred years, my fear was being assimilated into you Shinigamis and to die as one of you.
From afar, (Y/N) is a bit annoyed.
(Y/N): Things aren't playing out exactly like I thought, but no matter... Sung-Sun. Don't worry about keeping formation anymore. Tosen seems serious about not using Bankai. Help Hisagi up and I'll assist Captain Komamura. Once Hisagi is in a safe spot, back me up alright.
Sung-Sun: Right.
(Y/N): *thinking* Thankfully that stunt that Hisagi pulled allowed me to take a good chunk of spiritual energy to activate hollowfication again. Unfortunately I can't summon any arrancars at the moment.
(Y/N) activated Hollowfication and his spiritual energy raised dramatically. Tosen then turned towards (Y/N) as he felt his energy rise.
Tosen: Finally deciding to take this battle seriously?
(Y/N): I would've started all out from the start if I had the chance.
Tosen then flew towards (Y/N) with blinding speeds, but (Y/N) reacted in time, dodging out of the way. (Y/N) responded with a kick to the jaw that sent Tosen flying upwards. (Y/N) gave chase and continued his assault by kicking Tosen back into the ground.
Tosen crashed into the ground. As Tosen got back up, Komamura's Kokujō Tengen Myō'ō swung its sword towards Tosen, however Tosen cut into the monster's arm. Tengen's free arm then landed a punch that sent Tosen flying. One of Tosen's arms was left broken and bloodied after taking the attack.
Tosen began to speak to Komamura.
Tosen: You and that thing are linked with the same movements. And if you damage the giant, you'll be harmed as well. What an inconvenient Bankai, Komamura. As one who has seen your Bankai several times, it's easy for me to target its weakness. Because of its immense destructive power, you never believed that an enemy couldn't be beaten in a single blow, let alone counterattack.
Komamura: The same goes for you too.
Tosen: The same? Don't put me on the same level as you!
Tosen's bloodied and broken arm then began to twist and bend, healing and fixing itself back to normal.
Komamura: Instant Regeneration!
(Y/N): So you weren't just gifted hollowfication like the Vizards, you've become half hollow like I did.
Komamura: You've really given up being a Shinigami, haven't you, Tosen?
Tosen: Given our current situation, you sound like a sore loser, Komamura. I recall you said my power was that of corruption. You said that tricking my friends and subordinates to gain power was corrupt. Then I ask you this. If someone who joined an organization for revenge were to forget his purpose and live peacefully while working for that organization, wouldn't that be corruption as well? To my unseeing eyes, that appears far more corrupted.
Komamura: Tosen... Was your reason for becoming a Soul Reaper...
Tosen: Revenge. That's right.
Komamura's eyes widened.
Tosen: You look surprised, Komamura. You've become reliant on your seeing eyes and have become too lazy to see the truth. Your eyes cannot see a single truth that I can see!
Komamura just stood still.
Tosen: What's wrong, Komamura? Have you lost the will to fight back? Then let me ask you this... Didn't you ever think it was strange? Someone joining the organization that killed his most precious friend. Why didn't you think that was strange?!
Komamura: I thought it was out of a sense of justice. I believed that it was to fulfill the desire for justice that your fallen friend had been unable to achieve.
Tosen: You're right... It was for justice! In that case, what is justice?! Is it to forgive the man who killed my beloved friend?! That is certainly virtuous! It's admirable! Sickeningly so! But even if something is virtuous, is it justice?!
Just then, Tosen's hollow mask started to open up, almost morphing.
Tosen: No!
Living peacefully without avenging the dead is evil!
(Y/N) could only use context clues to understand the conversation happening. Tosen seems to be in pain from losing a friend in the line of duty it seemed. However, that didn't stop (Y/N) from knowing that what Tosen was doing was wrong.
Komamura: It seems that I misunderstood your feelings. If those are your true feelings, you and I will never see eye to eye.
Tosen: So are you going to kill me because of that? Is that justice? How absurd.
Komamura: That's right. It's justice. If our beliefs are incompatible, there's no point in trying to reason with you. I must kill you for the sake of the Soul Society. I don't want to kill you. I'm glad that I heard your true feelings. I've already forgiven you.
Tosen: Forgiven me, you say? You talk as if you're God, Komamura. When did I ever ask for your forgiveness?! If you want to kill me, then do it! That is... if you can still say the same thing after seeing my resurreccion!
(Y/N) eyes widened. (Y/N): Did he just say... resurreccion. Can a shinigami with a resurreccion exist?
Tosen: You didn't know? You of all people should be able to accomplish such a feat! If not, then you'll die!
Tosen held his sword up and spoke.
Tosen: Suzumushi Hyakushiki... Grillado Grillo!
Tosen's body started to morph into something incomprehensible.
Sung-Sun arrived back on the scene as she watched Tosen just use his resurreccion.
Sung-Sun: What... What is that?
(Y/N): A resurreccion...
Sung-Sun: What? A shinigami using resurreccion?
(Y/N): Now I understand why Tosen said he didn't need his Bankai. If he has this the whole time, we may be in trouble.
Sung-Sun: If he can use resurreccion, then doesn't that mean you can do it too?
(Y/N): In theory, I should. But I don't know the first thing about how to activate it.
As Tosen finished his transformation, he looked like a bug.
Tosen raised his head, his eyes starting to slowly open.
Tosen: I can see... I can see! I can see, Komamura! I can see, I can see, I can see, I can see! So this is the sky! So this is blood! So this is the world! And... So this is you... Komamura. You are much uglier than I imagined. And you (Y/N) (L/N). You look as despicable as I thought.
To be continued.
