Placing my head slowly on his chest, I let him laugh. His chest kept moving me up and down. Suddenly, a warm red hue spread across my face when his hands moved to my waist, holding me tightly—while his laughter never stopped...

...

"Rhys..." I let out his name after a few minutes, and he stopped, looking down at me.

"What is it, butterfly...?"

"I wa..nna g..o wa..shroom..." I said, looking down in shame. Why does this make me so embarrassed? Maybe because I was sitting in his lap right now...

Holding my waist tightly, he lifted me up. I quickly placed my feet on the floor and stood straight, a little away from Rhys to make a way for him to stand.

He did and said,

"Let me show you where it is, butterfly..."

I nodded my head, too embarrassed to say anything, and quietly started following his steps...

Once we reached, I looked at him and then at the door. Opening it slowly, I peeked inside, and all I saw was darkness.

"Lights..." I said, turning towards Rhys.

Rhys looked at the switches and turned them on, but they didn't work. The washroom was still dark. Clicking it again and again, he tried.

"I think it's not working..."

I hummed and gulped, stepping inside with courage...

Oh, I am scared of darkness. Grabbing the doorknob, I closed it slowly, and I couldn't see anything except darkness...

"R...hys..." I called slowly, but he didn't hear me...

"R..hys..." I said louder, and I heard him hum.

"Don't go anywhere..." I said.

"Are you scared, butterfly?" he asked, and I hummed, nodding my head stupidly as if he could see.

"Okay..." he said, and I fisted my hand, slowly taking steps without looking at the mirror, which was shining even in the darkness...

Suddenly, my shoes touched something, and it made a small noise. I flinched, too scared to move, but then again, I started taking steps when—

A light came from the door's bottom.

"Use it, butterfly..." he said.

I hummed, taking fast steps. Grabbing the slightly wet phone that Rhys had slid inside, I used it.

After using the washroom, I clicked open the door just to see Rhys standing nearby.

"Done, scaredy?" he asked, arching his eyebrow in a teasing manner.

I hummed, giving him his phone quickly.

"Let's watch a movie..." Rhys said and grabbed my hand before I could say anything.

We were inside a big room that had two large comfy beds and at least five to seven couches.

The room was covered in black curtains and soft yellow lights. In front of us was a huge LED screen, which was now on.

I was speechless. My eyes stared only at Rhys, who was using everything like it was his daily routine. So much luxury... And maybe it was true. Why not? He is the only son of the Bernard family...

"Look at the front, butterfly..." Rhys's voice cut my thoughts.

I nodded my head, letting it fall on the soft couch.

Rhys sat just beside me, still holding my hand...

And then, suddenly, the lights started going off one by one. The loud sound of the starting music burst my eardrums...

Then, slowly, the music started to fade. Finally, the intro came—it was too big.

And then the movie started...

Rhys let out a sigh and suddenly shifted his position. Moving a little away from me first, he then placed his feet up on the sofa, turned towards me, and rested his head on my lap...

His hand grabbed mine again, his fingers dipping onto the corners of my fingers, tightening the hold...

My eyes, which were on him, turned back towards the screen. My palms were getting sweaty as the movie kept going, but Rhys didn't seem to mind it...

Minutes passed. Then hours...

I could tell that the movie was a flop because it was making me feel sleepy. My eyes turned towards Rhys, who was actually asleep...

"Your choice in movies is the worst..." I mumbled before closing my eyes. Finally, my head dropped to his chest, and my eyes shut...

His and my hands remained entangled, and the movie just kept going...

...

Waking up, the first thing I felt was a hand caressing my hair. Opening my eyes slowly, I looked up, and his eyes met mine...

I thought he would stop, but his hand still kept caressing them. Then, he took a small strand of my front hair and entangled it in his fingers. Pulling it harshly, he pulled me near his face...

Smashing his lips on mine, he let my hair go. My one hand, which was still in his tight hold, kept struggling to be free, but his hold was harsh, pushing it onto the couch until the surface was squeezed.

"R...hys," I let out the muffled sound of his name between the kiss and punched his shoulder with my free hand. Finally, he let my lips go...

"Why do you have to be so ugly...?" he said, and I looked at him with a frown while breathing heavily.

"Ha....?"

He chuckled and placed his lips on my chin before trying to get up. And as expected, his head collided with my chin...

"Oww..." I let out a small, painful cry.

"Shit..." he said, holding his head while looking at me with an angry gaze.

"Your fault."

"Your fault," we both said at the same time.

"Tch..." he made a sound angrily, and I looked away.

Pushing him with my hands on his back, I made that sound too and walked away...

"Idiot..." I cursed him in my mind and ignored his presence...

He didn't follow but just stood there, staring at my back...

I looked back and saw his angry face. My eyes turned sharp, judging him. Then, turning myself again, I decided to seriously walk away this time...
