From a Suit to Sweat

Ayush had always imagined his first real job at Oberoi Industries would be in a sleek office, handling big deals, making powerful decisions.

Instead, he was in a dusty warehouse, unloading crates.

He wiped the sweat off his forehead, his shirt already clinging to him. The workers around him barely acknowledged his presence. To them, he wasn’t a boss’s brother—he was just another trainee.

And the worst part? No one cared about his excuses.

"Faster, newbie!" a supervisor barked. "These boxes won’t move themselves!"

Ayush clenched his jaw and lifted another crate, his muscles aching.

"I should be in a boardroom, not a damn storage room."

But this was what Arnav wanted, wasn’t it? To humiliate him. To break him.

And the worst part? It was working.

A Visit from the Dictator

That evening, as Ayush sat on a crate, exhausted, he heard slow, measured footsteps.

He didn’t need to look up. He already knew who it was.

Arnav.

The CEO walked through the warehouse, his sharp gaze inspecting everything. The workers straightened. Supervisors scrambled to impress him.

But Arnav’s attention was focused only on one thing—Ayush.

He stopped in front of him, arms crossed. "Tired?"

Ayush exhaled sharply. "What do you think?"

Arnav smirked. "Good."

Ayush shot him a glare. "Are you enjoying this?"

Arnav tilted his head. "What do you think?"

Ayush’s fists tightened. "You’re punishing me like a child. You’re trying to prove a point."

Arnav’s smirk disappeared. His voice was calm—but cold.

"No, Ayush. I am teaching you a lesson."

He took a step closer. "You think trust is a joke? You think responsibility is a game? Then earn it. You want to prove me wrong?" His voice dropped to a dangerous whisper. "Then stop complaining and work."

Ayush’s throat tightened.

Arnav stepped back, his expression unreadable. "One month. If you survive—maybe, just maybe—I’ll reconsider your position."

And then, just like that, he walked away.

Ayush sat there, his heart pounding.

"One month."

Could he do it? Could he survive?
