The Chase Begins

Avni moved swiftly through the dimly lit streets, her hoodie pulled over her head. She glanced over her shoulder every few minutes, her paranoia growing.

She had done this before—snuck out, met Devraj, played her part. But tonight… something felt off.

She pushed the thought away. She had to focus. If Devraj even suspected she was still loyal to her brothers, everything would fall apart.

But what she didn’t know… was that someone was already following her.

A Silent Hunter

A few feet behind, Anirudh moved like a shadow.

He had always suspected something was wrong with Avni’s behavior. Now, he finally had proof.

His fists clenched. Where the hell is she going?

When he had asked Arnav for permission to track her, his older brother had simply given him a cold nod.

"If she’s lying, bring her back."

Now, as Anirudh followed her deeper into the city, his worst fears started coming true.

Avni was heading toward a warehouse district.

And not just any warehouse—Devraj’s territory.

The Meeting

Inside an old, abandoned warehouse, Devraj Malhotra leaned against a rusted table, smirking.

"So," he said as Avni entered. "You came back."

Avni forced a smirk of her own. "Told you I would."

Devraj studied her. "Your brothers are getting suspicious, aren’t they?"

Avni’s breath caught for a second—but she recovered quickly. "Who cares? I don’t answer to them."

Devraj chuckled. "Good. Because if they ever find out you’re here… it won’t end well for you."

His words were casual, but Avni knew the threat was very real.

She forced herself to stay calm. "Relax. I’m not an idiot. They’ll never know."

"Too late for that."

A voice echoed through the warehouse, sending a chill down Avni’s spine.

She turned slowly.

Anirudh stepped out from the shadows, his eyes dark with betrayal.

A Brother’s Fury

For the first time in her life, Avni was genuinely scared of Anirudh.

His face was cold, unreadable—but his fists were clenched so tightly that his knuckles were white.

"Anirudh…" she started.

"Shut up."

His voice was quiet. Dangerous.

Then, all hell broke loose.

Devraj lunged.

Anirudh dodged, grabbing Avni’s wrist and pulling her behind him.

"Run," he ordered.

Avni hesitated. "But—"

"I SAID RUN!"

For once, she listened.

As Avni sprinted toward the exit, she heard the sounds of a fight breaking out behind her.

Devraj’s men had appeared out of nowhere, attacking Anirudh from all sides.

Her heart pounded. He was outnumbered.

She had to do something.

But before she could turn back, a gunshot rang out.
