The morning after the Murga punishment, the Oberoi mansion felt like it had entered a strange state of peace. The younger siblings walked around like zombies, sore from the previous day's ordeal. Aryan, Ayush, and Avni moved with cautious steps, as if any sudden movement could trigger a punishment from their elder brothers.
Anirudh and Arnav, however, were in a much better mood—which could only mean one thing: trouble for the younger trio was far from over.
The Quiet Before the Storm
Aryan leaned into the wall, glancing nervously at Ayush. "Do you think they're done with us?"
Ayush grimaced. "I hope so, but… after what happened yesterday? I don’t trust them."
Avni was sitting on the couch, staring blankly at her phone. She sighed. "I hate being punished. But honestly… that was kind of deserved. We went too far."
Aryan frowned. "Doesn't mean we should let them think we're just gonna roll over every time."
Ayush nodded. "Yeah. I’m tired of being the target of their rules."
Avni raised an eyebrow. "So, what do we do? Plan another prank?"
Aryan looked at her. "We’re done with pranks for now. At least until we’re not physically aching."
A Change in the Air
Meanwhile, Arnav and Anirudh were sitting together in the study, discussing family matters as usual.
"How long do you think they'll be on their best behavior before they crack?" Arnav asked, leaning back in his chair.
Anirudh smirked. "I’d say they’ll last a week, maybe two. But I know them. Revenge is in their blood."
Arnav chuckled. "That’s what I’m counting on. Let them think they’re safe."
A Surprising Turn of Events
As if on cue, Avni stood up from the couch, looking determined.
"I’m going to talk to Arnav and Anirudh," she declared, her tone serious.
Ayush and Aryan exchanged worried glances. "What are you planning?" Aryan asked.
"I’m going to negotiate our freedom," Avni said with a sly grin. "If we give them something valuable, maybe they’ll stop making us their target practice."
Ayush raised an eyebrow. "What are you thinking?"
"I have a plan. I’ll handle it. You two just stay out of it."
The Meeting
Avni walked confidently into the study, where Arnav and Anirudh were discussing business strategies. She cleared her throat.
Anirudh looked up, a slight frown on his face. "What are you doing here?"
Avni didn’t hesitate. "I came to negotiate. I know what you two did to us yesterday, and frankly, we’re tired of being your punching bags."
Arnav raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Go on."
"I propose a deal," Avni said, leaning forward. "You stop punishing us for every little mistake, and in return, we’ll make sure the house runs smoothly. We’ll be on our best behavior. No more pranks, no more trouble."
Anirudh glanced at Arnav, his expression unreadable. "And why should we believe you?"
Avni smirked. "Because you like peace. And trust me, you’re not going to get it if you keep tormenting us. So, what’s it going to be?"
The Decision
Arnav looked at Anirudh, and the two exchanged a silent conversation. Finally, Arnav spoke. "Alright, Avni. We’ll make the deal. But don’t think for a second we’ll let you off easy. One mistake, and you’re back in Murga position."
Avni’s grin widened. "Deal."
As she left the room, Aryan and Ayush were waiting anxiously outside.
"Did it work?" Aryan asked.
Avni smiled. "It worked. We get peace for now."
Ayush sighed in relief. "That’s good, I guess. For now..."
The Calm Before the Storm?
As the days passed, the younger siblings tried to stay on their best behavior, keeping their side of the bargain. But Arnav and Anirudh knew better than to let their guards down completely.
The underlying tension was still there, simmering beneath the surface. They knew that this fragile peace wouldn’t last forever. The balance was delicate, and one wrong move could tip the scales back into chaos.
But for now, the Oberoi family was relatively calm.
Until, of course, the next time they tested the limits of their patience—and the consequences would come in full force.
